I know this is not a Movie Thread or Iron Man thread but I found this nice poster of the future instalment of Iron Man 2. Nice! ;)

Also just found this one...

http://www.deviantart.com/download/65422492/Cosplay__Spiderman_2099_by_GlompedToDeath.jpg

Not sure how he can see anything!!!

i've got one just like this. You're right can't seen anything out of it, so I modified by carefully cutting the eyes out. By wearing a black hood underneath, I can get the comic book look. By putting on a spider3 mask with reflective lenses, i can see really well. :)

To get the eyes to work for the Spider-Man 2099 suit I'd go the route the filmmakers of Watchmen did for Rorscach. Maybe give his costume a darker blue and then where the eyes are put two little eye holes coverd up with wire-mesh colored the same color of the suit.

^Brad

Is the design red as well or transparent? Have you squirted red ink onto the red lycra is what I mean.

I like btw :)

Yeah.. I think that's all they did, but Im not 100% certain. I asked the printer to alter the format of the print to what ever is required when printing on coloured fabric. I've just requested a blue sample.

Can someone give me some recommendations as to where I can get some reflective lenses, or tell me what wire mesh works best for a spidey suit? I bought a cheap zentai spidey suit from ebay and know the eyes are not going to look good so I was hoping I could get some advice from the experts here. Any help will be greatly appreciated. :yay:

The mask I got came from http://lethalgear.itcstore.com/ a few years back. Why not PM him to see if he still has any pairs left over.

Here's my test print of a red part of the suit on red lycra. I gotta to say Im happy with the results. Just need to do some testing to get a nice blue deep blue.

The pic doesnt do the colour deep red justice!!.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j7/Spidey4fun/Samples/DSC08892.jpg

:)

Brad...you should try some blue samples printed on the red fabric... that corner of blue looks really good. The red ink on blue would probably give it the nice darker purple color the movie suit has.

Also, anyone else think the Iron man 2 poster looks like a rip off from the spiderman 3 poster??? Red costume against a black one..!

While Im waiting on samples I thought I'd have a go at this request...

Which frames you guys think suit this style better?

The top frame looks best imo. The border is equally weighted and angle of the lens looks very fitting for a JRJR or Romita mask.

corjamwel
12-09-2009, 11:57 AM
Regardless of which one you pick, they all look great! But my vote goes for the second one down. No specific reason, just like it the best. You should make completed lenses of all three, and then after you decide, you can give the other two to us untalented people to put on whatever we want! :yay:

I think the second set of frames are the ones that match the most Brad, the first frames' lens is a little bit off shape for the Romita look in my opinion, but they all look great.:yay:

Hey Spidermilk, the frames second from the bottom on you're list look like they'd be perfect for a McFarlane style suit, would love to see that but I'm a talentless hack, maybe a seasoned vet could tackle that.

Im thinking the top set. It's pretty much the same drawing Spideyfan970 did. Just a little different in the corner of the eye. I draw them up in CAD do a little magic then use a CNC mill to make a master. From there, I make a silicon mold of the master. But first I'll print out a few different sizes on paper and place on a mask to get the scale right.

Im still waiting on my last order from the printer which included the blue sample. It should arrive mid next week.

Thanks,

Yes they will threaten with legal action for birthday parties. I was doing them for a while until I got on Marvel's actor list. The woman who runs the program assured me that if I did anymore there would be legal action taken against me. I can understand this in the respect that Marvel cannot be accountable for potential pedophiles doing kid's parties.

Mirror tint is fine to see through but as it doesnt allow heat to escape so it does fog up after a while. That's the only issue with it.

First off nice work Brad, love all the innovative things that you are doing to all the spidey suits. Has anyone in here ever applied Plastisol to their suits? It's what made the honeycomb pattern part of the suit stick out. I was just wondering if the dye sublimination company takes care of that or would I have to take it to another company? Thanks

The black spidey suit is the one that used plastisol. It also has to be screen printed (not dye-sub). It costs several hundred to set up for the first print but extra prints after only cost pennies.
If moneys no issue, we'd love to finally see one :cwink:

Id say its alot harder to find photos displaying the back spider on the Black Suit rather than the red..You could find the red ones all the time but the black one very rarely...Now I like how these photos are displaying the full Boot in High Quality of the Red Costume..Has anyone figured out how the real boots are made yet?

I wonder what plastics or shoes they use to make them look like that..LOL They look Really cool.

Hey Brad Ive seen photos of your costumes using other shoes before other than the Water Shoes.. what other shoes have you used before other than the Water shoes? Although I would think the Water ones are definetley the best ones to go with and they feel really confortable too and affordable.

spidermilk
12-29-2009, 10:40 AM
The shoe was made in the same way normal shoes are made from, not plastic though, more like leather, I think brad has only ever used those types of aqua shoes.

spidey4fun
12-29-2009, 02:13 PM
I used a canvas kung-fu shoe a few times but the sole of the shoe was very slipery. I thought about asking a bootmaker to make specific size inner shoes but just never got around to it.

Spiderman0884
12-29-2009, 04:20 PM
I would say the boots would have to look something similar to this from the inside except the top of the boot would have to be a bit bigger or extended until it reaches the line between the blue side of the lycra and the red because thats where it breaks. LOL.. Oh by the way guys these are just Scuba diving boots..They look confortable too

Nice Spiderman 3 Costume Boot..You wanna know how I know? Because they alternated the costume boots in every single Spiderman Movie or at least in 3 they did I think 1 and 2 they are the same..I know for sure that this is a Spiderman 3 Costume Boot. What do you guys think the shoe looks like from the inside though? and how long is the boot from inside the lycra..In the Movie there is a scene where Tobey takes off the boot so my guess would be that the boot is as long as half way up of the red portion of the red Lycra. Thats My guess I would have to watch the movie again because I dont remember.

I Know because I remember these photos being released back when Spiderman 3 was Filming...but these photos give perfect details of how the boots should look like though. Hey SpiderMilk, isnt this the Spiderman 3 Replica Costume though it looks like the Spiderman 3 Costume...This also looks like the Filming Set of Spiderman 3.. I Know because I remember these photos being released back when Spiderman 3 was Filming...but these photos give perfect details of how the boots should look like though. The only mystery in this is to find out what type of Boot or shoe is used inside the Lycra..LOL

Well there woulda been lots of official and un official pictures taken on out door sets, the colour alone is the silk screen spiderman 2 print but the photo was dated to 2004 so this is how it is confirmed. Onset photos of spiderman 3 started popping up in 06.

First of all, PROBABLY? PROBABLY??? It's DEF real! Sony Pictures told me so. But no, there are no shoe sizes printed on the boot. ;)

And I have NOT opened the case (although I've REALLY wanted to). I've been worried that opening it might somehow lower the value of it. I don't know much about collectables, but I know that screwing with them is RARELY positive.

I CAN tell you that it is NOT really a "boot", per se. It's more like a sock. There appears to be a ridgid "toe-piece" and "heel piece" that give the forward & heel part of the shoe a well defined shape, but the "leg part" doesn't have any structural support as far as I can tell. It's been stuffed with something to fill it out, but it is not a ridgid piece. In a couple of the pictures you can see what I believe to be the "toe-piece".

In the scene in Spider-Man 3 in which Toby removes his boot to pour out some sand, they used a costume that had been specifically designed to allow that boot to be removed, but on the rest of the costumes they were not made to be removable.

PROBABLY!................HA!!!! ;)

I know this is not a Dark Knight Thread but this is the first time I actually see an action figure of Christian Bale without his Mask facing forward wearing his Dark Knight Armor..I think it looks really cool..expecially because most of the time in both films everytime he took off his mask he was either facing the opposite direction or him sitting down where you couldnt see him in his full armor without his mask.

I know I overread it on Screenrant.com that Spiderman 4 was going to be canceled..and the entire Spiderman Franchise was going to be rebooted..I hate it when they do things like that..now we are going to have to see peter Parker back in high school again from the begining...Sony should have just left Sami Raimi handle Spiderman 4..I honestley dont see why Sony wanted to choose a Villian that was really hot in the comic's like Black Cat. Sony "Now lets see, Hum! What Villian will make BANK for us this time?" It doesnt work that way thats why Spiderman 3 sucked because Venom was forced in the movie in the very last minute.

Like I meant spider man 084, no offence meant. Being able to end a dispute in one post is a gift so I truly commend you. I'll edit my post.

So the news I have been waiting for a hell of a long time has come, there's allot of questioning about why? And I think it's because it would of panned, I.E. not made as much money or as much as Spiderman 3, The vultures one of the best villains out there but I don't think he would have been enough to handle his own movie (that's if he was the was the only villain) I think Sony see's also that if they went ahead with the movie it would have been harder to redeem it and start up new like there doing now. Otherwise the spidey movies would have ended up making less money etc.

Maybe Disney also had an involvement in this.

I actually am more excited about the reboot. It sounds like they're going to keep Peter in high school this time and have him actually deal with teenager things while dealing with superheroic things. In my opinion they grew him up too quickly is Spider-Man 1.

Also I mean come on guys, now you get a NEW Spider-Man costume design. There's no way they're going to use the same one over again. To me this sounds perfect, the only real problem is that it's a SONY movie and not a MARVEL one.

spider-sancho
01-13-2010, 03:13 PM
Just as long as it is not a Smallville version of Spider-Man! But my money is that the executives from Sony will phuc it up. If they want to top Raimi, bring in James Cameron. I am just wondering how they will be able to redesign the suit. Now that I know what it takes to make one, it seems to me that Peter Parker can never afford a real movie Spider-Man suit.

Hugggh! This is so upsetting to me due to the fact that they have to reboot the Spiderman franchise all over again. I already knew they were going to do it..I just didnt except for them to do it this soon..I was hoping to see the same actors and director one last time before a reboot. Im sorry guys I know this is not a Spiderman Film thread its just that it feels weird when they always do a reboot..its like your so used to seeing the same actors playing there role especially if they were playing that same role for a while, I mean I was 17yrs old in high school when I saw Spiderman 1 hit theaters in my senior year im 25 now so its been almost a decade. The same goes when they change the actors or reboot a franchise with new actors and start over again..That sucks! Its not the same anymore! Thats exactly what they did with TDK and IM2 well at least there they change the actors but I hate it when they do that too. Its time to move on and get over it. :csad:

The blue parts on blue and red parts on red... then sew it all together. This method will only work for Urethane webbing suits as the webbing will cover the sewing lines.

Question: Why throw fire on the fuel for a new user? Even if you were joking it doesn't make sense.

He was obviously feeling under attack in some way. Spiderfan970 was telling him not to post 'personal business' type messages, and yet only a few posts later Spiderman0884 posted an even more 'personal business' message to Brad and did not get reprimanded.

Your claim of joking doesn't seem so honest, especially when you go on the attack for his grammatical error (an easy way to take a shot at someone on message boards). Don't forget to correct Spiderfan970 for his spelling of "edicate".

Hype users are getting bad reps, as the new person mentioned. Let's clean things up and move on.

peter_parker, I was just saying that it's gone on long enough in the thread and to further the conversation over private message. I wasn't trying to attack anyone. I just told him to give Brad a break because he'd talk to him when he can. I've already private messaged spidey8 earlier today apologizing and explaining more in depth what I was getting at (with etiquette spelled correctly this time).

I agree that it's time to move on with the thread.

I never thought you were attacking... I was just pointing out how it appeared Spidey8 was taking the comments. SpidermanC was the one who kind of made it worse.

And I agree with you on the personal business too... keep it to PMs.

There are lots of great people on these boards (like yourself).

Anybody hear that Sony announced Tobey and Raimi won't be involved in Spiderman 4 anymore? :wow:

Could care less about Raimi not returning, wouldn't know the difference.. but after 3 movies it's not gonna be the same without Tobey.

what does this mean you want them to give it to the horrible director of a movie ? [READ AS bloodrayne or the Schumacher BATMEN series
< after burton and before Nolan > ]
Sam atleast put love and heart into his legacy , and aside from a VAST MISCAST OF MJ *shoulda been nikki cox , in my humble opinion* ; and you know it was a crapshoot with topher as eddie , because he is supposedly "up an comer" in hollywood

because that myfriend is a fate worse than death , a director who doesnt care about his work *how else do u explain the shoddy Gunk called X-3 or Twilight * ; final note "from the director of ....." is always a bad thing IF MENTIONED IN A COMMERCIAL . so nuff said.

Great, I'm looking forward to seeing the progress. Just out of curiousity's sake, would you be able to print your 3d webbing onto the red fabric? Might not show up but I think it would be worth a shot. Urethane looks good but it doesn't hold up like printed.

Hey Brad what other sizes can you make for the chest Spider on the red/Blue suit or do you make a one size only which is the basic one you have..Are you able to make the legs and arms just alittle bit skinnier and bigger? Well at least for those that request it Maybe?

At the moment I've only the one Urethane spider mold. Im guessing you're referring to this one and not the printed spider.

The printed webbing probably would work but the extra sewing would make this type of suit more time consuming to make.

Doubtful. I bet he made another account, or used a friend's, to fake buy it. You'll probably see it up under another name in a few days.

I Wouldn't be surprised if on his feedback you see the fake account leave positive feedback, and then a couple days later you see that same name list it again. But ebay is not dumb- since it has been reported his IP was recorded and when an auction (say someone reports his next listing of the mask under a new name) is reported they will check the IP and see the previous offenses and probably ban him..

Not yet. My printer didnt realise I'd sent pretty much the exact amount of fabric but didnt start printing at the top of the fabric....so they ran out of red fabric 1/2 way through the feet. I sent more fabric to them yesterday. I also sent a sample of a light blue fabric to see how that looks when printed. I expect I'll see the blue sample and reprinted feet in a week.

I agree, but here's the problem. What do we report? We know it's fake. We know it's fake because we know it's a low quality replica and we also know the facts surrounding it's creation. But ebay doesn't know, or frankly care what we think. As far as they know we know nothing about the mask or it's provenance.

Sell a fake mask for $10 thousand dollars and they don't care, but steal your picture and use it, they will remove the auction in a heartbeat.

I agree we should report it, I did, but don't hold out hopes of them doing anything.

I once sold a reproduction Spider-Man costume piece. I marketed as a replica and listed it in a frame for around $50. Ebay pulled the auction and told me I was violating copyright infringement and Sony asked ebay to pull it.

This has been listed at least three times and ebay or Sony has done nothing.

Well thanks for them comment, nothing like 2 weeks in the greenland after spending months on making these things.

Depending on substrate is what matters, If it's foam Latex, a latex based glue is best, If it's urethane, a urethane glue followed by cynnocriliae or what ever it's called (superglue) If it's normal latex then, the all purpose glue is best. These are all the glues I have used in the passed and they have all worked as well for somehting which is being constantly stretched back and fouth. I think brad has already answered this question though...

You seem very upset that I pointed out the obvious. It was never my intention to upset you so personally.

Many people believe it is wrong for someone to join and/or read multiple forums only with the intention of using those members discoveries and information as their own. It also is not looked upon favorably to promote your site all over someone else's.

I never said you could or could not read dates, so I am not sure why you said that.

Are you a member of this person, Debord's forum and do you know him?

Who proclaimed his blog the "most respected movie prop site"?

As to your believing that the "OPB" is "very very well known in the prop community" I cannot affirm or deny that, as I only heard of it recently.

I do not believe that Mr. Debord individually has shut anyone "down" as you stated. He, and many others, have assisted Ebay in many instances. I too know people that have contacted Ebay questioning certain auctions.

From what I have gathered, this blogger has reported on other people's findings and information for many of his stories. Did he sometimes not ask permission to use their findings, pictures, or forum posts in his blog for those stories?

For example:

This "story" reported by the blogger here:

http://www.originalprop.com/blog/2010/01/11/lawsuits-and-controversy-over-autographed-memorabilia-with-doctored-celebrity-signing-photos/

was from another site,:

http://live.autographmagazine.com/photo/albums/american-royal-arts-fake

The blogger used, without permission from the AM article writer, photos from their original story. Those photos were altered by adding the OPB logo color and font to them. Which seems to suggest they were created by the OPB blog.

That may not be "respectful" to the copyright owner and writer of the original story.

When contacted, the writer of the original story from autographmagazine said the OPB blog did not have, nor ask permission, to use the copyrighted photos. The AM site owner did not seem overly upset, but did mention those facts.

Mr. Debord joined the Yuku board, "Not Suitable For General Exhibition" as a member in Jan 2010. He made one post advertising links to his blog.

He remained silent for about a month ( 3 weeks, 2 days), then reported about a Dracula movie poster fraud.

Again, that information was gleaned from another forum located here:

http://www.mail-archive.com/mopo-l@listserv.american.edu/msg33764.html

and the Yuku forum here:

Again, that information was gleaned from another forum located here:

http://www.mail-archive.com/mopo-l@listserv.american.edu/msg33764.html

and the Yuku forum here:

http://stylec.yuku.com/topic/6364

Geez, how long did it take you to put all that together? I'll get the Cliffs Notes later.

You guys truly are artists when it comes to fabricating some NICE Spidey-suits, so first off, kudos for that. I'm not sure where to find the "old" thread, so could somebody help me out since I want to get my hands on a sweet Spidey suit myself?

If you make a sequel to your video, you can also mention that the raised webbing in the fake mask is not only a different color than the original but it is a different thickness.

I just can't believe ebay is letting this go. Someone was selling a Green Goblin mask a few years ago. It was perfect and he actually had some credible provenance. It turned out to be fake and ebay was sent some evidence and they ended it. Mind you that Goblin mask was absolutely spot on. A perfect reproduction. This symbiote mask is a poor reproduction at best. Yet they do nothing.

Even if ebay has no evidence, they can certainly find out that no masks were simply given to the general public. The only masks that are in the general public were the ones sold by Sony/Hollywoodvault. The only other ones are owned by either Sam Raimi, any producers of the film and Tobey Maguire.

I mentioned this before but Sony had ebay end one of my auctions that I was selling. I had a reproduction Spider-Man costume piece framed. I was selling it as a repro for like $50. Ebay ended it and directly told me that Sony had contacted them and told them to end the auction. That means someone at Sony contacted ebay. That also means Sony has a relationship with ebay.

This is what a screen used mask really looks like. This is the one sold by Sony on ebay.

Really tho, I just wanted to get the word out and figured what better way than to post it on youtube. I also posted it on other Spiderman message boards and all have said the same thing, this guys a scam artist! He customizes costumes, toys, and props and shows it and now you're to believe he has an authentic mask...? If the mask gets relisted, Yeah, Ill make another video! By the way, the song is Liar by Megadeth. It was soo perfect for it.

Since sellers can't leave a neg, you can buy it and then leave him a neg. Since Ebay won't do anything, we should. I can't buy it because he blocked me after my e-mails to him.

That's a perfect idea..

Bid, don't buy it, and leave negative feedback saying it's fake.

If bay contacts you, just tell them you were made aware with outstanding proof that the mask was in fact a fake, and not as he advertised in the auction.

It's a win/win situation, even if bay for some reason lets him re-list it again, no one will ever bid on it with that feedback.

Now with a starting bid of $100.

The funny thing is, I've seen worse replicas sell for more. It's finally listed at about what it's worth.

I've been messing with him through various questions about the mask. And for each of those questions, he's made up some of the most un-educated answers I've ever heard from a liar.

Ebay has been a hobby of mine for a little over a decade now, and I've got a few contacts who might be able to shut down his fake mask auctions for good. No promises, but he might just be gone after we've all had our sick fun with him :-)

Question for the guys that do the urethane webbing suits. What do you use to make the web have that metal shimmer look? Ive heard of using graphite, but has anyone found a paint that would work and stretch with the urethane?

The paint used at any Car Body shop is the best. It is actually stretchy and rubbery, until you spray lacquer(?) over it to harden and give it a shine.
Whilst working for 6 months at one, my boss told me how he sprayed some leather car seats with car paint and they were fine (and survived fine under the strain).
You also get to be as fussy as you like with the shade. It has to be extremely accurate to match a repaired car.
Just find your nearest shop and ask them in the same way you'd ask for new tyres, exhaust etc, they'll be happy to help

I actually have a can of car paint (not the right color, but good for a test) and tryed it, but it doesnt seem like it will hold up to that kind of stretch. Does it have to have a flex agent in it for like rubber bumpers and stuff like that? Has anyone else used this method for coloring the webs? Just dont want to spend a grip of money on car paint for it not to work.

Contact a paint supplier or specialty art store around you... they my be able to whip something up for you.

I know Schuurkes had to get his paint through a special order request with a paint factory.. so it was pretty pricey and he didn't like to sell it individually because it would be like $50 for a couple tiny 1oz hobby jars just to make it worth his time..
