See what you guys have done, now?! You're depriving people from experiencing the funniest film of the summer. I was stunned no-one went any higher than a 5. Had this been episode 29, I would have been its lone defender...

Where I'm at it's only 7.50 for a night time show.
So what was worse? GI Joe or Transformers 2?

Hotness Factor: G.I. Joe
C.G.I.: Transformers
Story: *sigh*....Transformers
Action: Once again, Transformers.
Hilarity: Somehow Transformers (Must be Agent Simmons).

My weighing of the two films goes as follows:
Story: The overall plots of both films are pretty weak. "Transformers 2" deals with an ancient MacGuffin which activates ancient weaponry ("Originality, table 1, please!") while "G.I. Joe" plays out like a Bond film for people who need help dressing themselves. It's a close race, but I give Story to "G.I. Joe," because its crappiness was consistent while "Transformers 2" had a good story and lost me halfway.
JOE: 1 TF2: 0
Acting: This one goes to "Transformers 2" easily in my book. The only bad actors in the film were the parents (throwaway characters to begin with) and Skids and Mudflaps. In "G.I. Joe", the best acting came from a character who was mute! Not a good sign. And although I might catch flak for this, I bought the main robotic characters (Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and even The Fallen to some regard) as real characters.
JOE: 1 TF2: 1
CGI: This one also goes to "Transformers 2," although with a caveat. "TF2" had some great CGI, but the styling of the shot and quick editing pace ruined it. "G.I. Joe"'s CGI was laughable. The best thing in the film was the destruction of the Eiffel Tower which, by the standards of today's films, was still pretty lame.
JOE: 1 TF2: 2
FIDELITY TO SOURCE MATERIAL: Again, "TF2". I know almost nothing about the cartoon series, but it doesn't matter. "G.I. Joe" was not in the same ballpark, the same league, or even the same sport as the cartoon original. The tone (cheesy action for kids) was there, but I'm still pissed off about Cobra Commander. So sue me.
JOE: 1 TF2: 3
Direction: It's pretty well documented that I've got me some Michael Bay issues. I loved the first half of "Transformers 2", but the second half just *%^$ the bed. I liked "The Mummy" and Steven Sommers (for the most part) and if "G.I. Joe" was anything, it was consistent in its tone.
JOE: 2 TF2: 3
So there you have it. G.I. Joe is worse (albeit not a whole lot worse) than Transformers 2. However, it should be noted that BOTH films come close to insulting the intelligence and the taste of their audience, so being asked to choose between the two is almost like asking whether you'd like to be shot or stabbed.

I just remembered that I didn't add a section for hotness. G.I. Joe would definitely win that category even with TF2's Megan Fox in the hole (hehehehehehe). I don't include it as important to the film because if I want to see hot women, there are plenty of websites for that and I don't have to worry about "acting ability."

I'm scared for Iron Man 2 a wee bit. Scarlett Johansson was in The Spirit and now GIJoe, both geeky, comic booky movies and both failed. I only hope my faith in Jon Favreau is well placed.

She wasn't in GI JOE... And she had no bearing on the writing, directing or producing of The Spirit. And she is not to blame for it's sucking. It's very difficult to give a give a competent performance when your director can't deal with actors and the script is asinine. Iron Man II will be fine.

Oops I was thinking of Sienna Miller wasn't I... I'm sure those two are really good friends. I guess it makes me feel better for Iron Man 2 now.
As for The Spirit, she didn't have to join the cast when she read the script.

Okay I don't know diddly about GIJoe coz it's a Yank thing that I missed. But when I hear the name Cobra Commander the first person to come to mind isn't Tommy Solomon from 3rd Rock from the Sun. No one told me it was him and now I wanna see it just to know how he works as the boss of a big terrorist group, he's only 28! Someone has to explain to me how he fits into the story.
This guy doesn’t sound/look 28...

PS. Yeah I said diddly, what of it?
