No, not Gwen but Flash, Flash Thompson lets bring him back, he was in Spider-Man 3 at Harry's funeral. Bring Flash back in the mix and have him dating Felicia Hardy,Betty Brant, Liz Allen, Debra Whitman, somebody new other than Mr.Dikovitch and Baker Girl in Pete's apartment. Have Peter move into Flash's bachelor pad.

Flash being Pete's friend could work, like it did in the comics over time. Especially now that Harry is dead. I'd think it'd be cool for Gwen to be a part of the "friends" aspect of Peter's life now as well.

I like the Ned Leeds/Betty love triangle idea... only if Banks comes back though. I think if they can't get her back just add Felicia. I doubt Gwen is coming back with Bryce's schedule the way it is.

I like the idea of increasing Flash's role in these movies. No better way to do it than by following what the comics did. :up:

I'd like to see Flash come back and be less of a jerk to Pete.

But what I'd like to see much more than that, is to have Peter move into Robbie Robertson's apartment and have them become best friends. It'd be cool to have another black actor added to the cast, and Robbie was always a great character.

Peter and Randy were roommates for a while about ten years ago, I think.

the more I think of it

him dating Debra would be a good way of reintroducing him, and a good possible set up for a friendship with Peter

having a guy like Flash now dating a girl like Debra, (who is kinda nerdy, and not traditionally hot) would automatically show the growth and maturate of his character, having out grown the whole, nerd bashing, jock, thing...

Which would leave room, for him and Peter to meet back up, forget the past, and start hanging out

Yeah, tbh I never thought of them bringing Flash back at all until reading this thread. then I saw the guy who plays him on an ep of One Tree Hill last night and from what I saw could imagine him playing the changed, more chilled out Flash who came back from the war.
I always thought that was a good way of explaining his character change, but would they do that in the movies? I love all 3 of the SM movies, so this is not a bash, but they just seem so far removed from the real world that I can't imagine any mention of Iraq or Afghanistan in them. But who knows, maybe that would be a good thing, and some good new character situations would be most welcome. Get Pete out of that flat and moving in with Flash.

And..near the end of the movie have Pete come home all torn up from a fight, collapses on the floor and Flash discovers his secret I.D., nah, save that for SM5.
Have Mrs Muggins as their landlady though, always loved her as Pete's landlady.

Personally, I think this is a very good idea which should be used in SM4. But again, I highly doubt. It would be nice though.

Flash should be dating Felicia to set up Black Cat for SM5 or SM6.

If Flash is dating Debra she could be tied in to Dr.Connors and be his assistant.

^^ If Debra was in the film, I don't think we should see her straight foward through the film. Maybe just a scene or 2,then, in the next film, we see more of her, etc.

The guy needs more friends, Spider-Man has one of the greatest and biggest supporting characters in all of comics, use them and use them wisely.

Flash Thompson is definitely a character that has been under used in this franchise.

It might be a bit too late to bring him back though, but hey... go for it and see if it sticks.

Wasn't Flash the guy who nailed Pete with the paper ball in the beginning of SM3? I don't think it would be a problem bringing him back. Obviously he was at the funeral. Definitely Flash and a new rival at the Bugle. One or the other or both.

When I saw that Flash was going to be in SM3 I was excited because I though that they might be reworking his character back into the story. Sadly this was not the case.

Not that it was neccesarily a bad thing considering SM3 was overcrowded as it was. But I would really like Flash to at least pop up again now and then and have some sort of relationship with Peter.

They don't need to be roomates or anything, but I think it would be a good and easy way to show the growth from the first movie. I always liked how the relationships of all the characters grew in the comics and feel the movies need more of that, especially now that Harry is dead.

With Harry now dead i could see a friendship growing. But as far as being close buddies i don't think they have given him enough development in the series so far to warrant such a big leap.

In this interview from earlier in the year Joe Manganiello says that Flash was set to be more more than a cameo in SM3 and that an appearance in SM4 is possible.

There is a chance. I appear for a tiny cameo in Spider Man 3 at the end during the funeral. I was originally slated to shoot more than that but because of time, we could not shoot those scenes. I haven't heard anything yet but I wouldn't doubt it. It is definitely a possibility. I loved working with Sam Raimi. Dr. Connor's should be his new buddy but i think since he's more of a mentor he would need like a peer best friend which is why i went with Daredevil but who knows....maybe Felecia maybe Firestar....

Not a bad idea. It would actually give Robbie Robertson something to do in the movie, besides one line of dialog. The number of black cast members would climb to two!:wow::oldrazz:

I agree with that . If not in Sm4 then at least in SM5 if she is still around.
