Are they bringing up or should they bring up the fact that Britt Reid {The Green Hornet} is the grand-nephew of the Lone Ranger? Maybe somewhere in the opening credits?
What do you think?:yay:

They can't -- The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet are two different properties and ended up in separate hands many years ago.
If at some point in the future someone manages to acquire both properties then the connection could be used. But for now, at the most, all there might be is a very general reference -- nothing that, by itself, would necessarily "say" Lone Ranger. Now Comics got away with a stronger reference but that was in a comic book, the movie will have much higher profile so the lawyers are probably watching it more closely.

but he's right! And I for one am glad that they can't play on this because it would be used as a comedic vehicle.

Yeah, I think it's cool that Britt is his Grand Nephew, but it really doesn't need to be noted.

They may not name the Lone Ranger directly, but they might make reference to a family "heritage" which could elude to him indirectly. Since this IS part of the Green Hornet's legacy, I think it would be easy to include it in such a way as to not cross into legal hot water. Hardcore fans would appreciate the connection or "inside wink" and move on.
