How come Superman has never turn black?
since his power involved a lot of sun ray absorption
I think by now the melanoma in his blood would have turn his skin dark brown and his hair nappy!

Speaking for myself, it was never my intention to make you go sour on the 70s look, BV. Like what you like, man. I just never bought it as a kid and even now. When you're Power Man, you have to represent harder than the tiara. :hehe:

I always keep digging what i like even when people talk trash about it.Even the character in the comic are commenting on the tiara. HAHAHA! It was mostly because that was then and this is now. And unlike what most people on here might believe( Cough Cough Anubis). I aint stuck in the 70's! Change is good. I was there for Hal when he murdered all the GLs , Blue and Red Supes and all that.I like my characters to evolve and their clothes to change too.I dont want a Spiderman OMD and Luke Still living in Harlem trying to get paid. I dug that he lead the Avengers.I will always looooove the classic tiara look and all but i also dig the shaved head( mostly cause thats me now). Dude just needs to get some kind of damn uniform though. Come on. That Black shirt and jeans look is tired. I just never bought it as a kid and even now.

Don't forget the arc where Cage replaced Ben Grimm in FF when Ben lost his powers...then Ben tried to pick a fight with him because he was jealous. :hehe:
Yeah, Cage needs a respectable overhaul of attire and as for me loving someone dressed up as a Bat, well, when I see ONE kid sporting the tiara and yellow blouse on Halloween, I soften my disdain. :woot:

Reminds me of the time one Halloween when I dressed up like Punisher in all black and had to chaperone my son and his friends door to door back when he was six years old.
I had to use his brightly colored play guns just in case the cops drove by and felt froggy to start something. The toy guns that look real could get you f***ed up if you're not careful. :hehe:

DMZ was cool, not as cool as Hardware though. I found it hillarious that he had gone to Norfolk Stae for a bit.:yay: Also, that his car produced an image that showed him as a white person so the ppolice wouldn't wonder why a Black man was driving such a badd ass car.:yay: That was something only a black persoon would dare include in their writing.

Actually, more than likely nobody has had a response for what you might have said in the past. (Unless you totally put your foot in your mouth...but, usually then you'll get plenty of responses.) I post from time to time, and many times I don't get a response to my post. (But, I'm also not expecting one.) Plus, as you're here longer, you'll be recognized more, and that may garner a few more replies to what you write.

The chick who could morph into a real white tiger was actually, in fact, a real white tiger who could morph into a chick. She was one of the High Evolutionary's New (wo)Men.
Don't forget Kasper Cole, too, even though he wasn't really a martial artist or in any way connected to the "main" White Tiger legacy. He was called "the White Tiger," though.

Shoot, the reason he looked like a brother was that the artists from that era didn't even know how to draw/portray Black folks, much less a PR dude. They made everyone look like white people with melanin. Despite being headquatered in NYC, where they saw Blacks and PR's all day long.
As a kid I had major problems with that, Luke Cage was the only Black hero that actually acted like a brotha. He was tryin' to get some money for his work. He said it in the Iron Fist comic recently. "Don't forget about the for hire part, ain't doin' this for free."
I also liked Cardiac. He was otherdriven in that he did what he did for own reasons and didn't give a da@# how anyone felt.

Which used to befuddle me as a kid. PRs made up nearly a half of my school's students back then; you'd figure that one of their artists then would at least take reference to a segment of the population that's right in their faces daily. It was more like why bother?

I think Bamma must mean something different where you live Vulcan. Let me school on what it means here.
Bamma ;
A general-multi used DC Metro area term used to describe a person who has no style, taste, or class. Usually this person has no idea that he/she is classified as a Bamma - rather they go about their daily lives thinking what they do, say, or wear is acceptable.
1. That dude came to work with dress slacks and white tube socks..what a BAMMA!
2. I got a co-worker who is missing 2 front teeth, but she came to work showing me a portofolio of pictures she got from Sears, talking about she's gonna be a model. Yo, that chick is a straight Bamma!
3. A person lacking style and/or common sense.

I knew Falcon was Cap's partner, but he doesn't really fit "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" but, eh, whatever.

Born in England, but apparently adopted an American accent at some point. He almost got into a bar pub fight while he was hanging out with MI:13, and some dude bloke thought he was American.

I don't think he adopted the accent so much as his English accent just faded over time. He spent a lot of time in the USA.
When did he swear off killing? He didn't seem to be squeamish about killing in MI-13.

Yeah, in his first appearance he stabbed the hell out of Lady Jac. You know, before climbing all up on her.

Maybe he doesn't count vampires and other non-humans like the rest of the speciesist superhero masses.

It's true, man. They could sit there and have an intelligent, philosophical conversation with an alien or a demon or something and then stab them in the face and not feel a hint of remorse. Utterly ridiculous.
Of course, most superheroes just kill anything now, which I guess is one way to solve that particular problem...

Well to be fair I don't think demons belong in that group I mean you kill them and what, they go back to hell till it opens up again. I don't mind anyone killing demons, they are ****ing demons after all. Aliens are another matter.

There are good demons too. I can't think of any off the top of my head in the Marvel universe, but there must be. And humans get resurrected like 70% of the time too, so they're not all that different from demons in that respect.

I wonder why nobody has ever called some resurrected hero a dirty zombie?

Because most resurrected heroes don't try to eat people's brains?

I really don't like the idea of good demons, I mean the point of demons is they are demons. Personally I see any demon or zombie I shoot them on sight. Last halloween was a bloodbath outside my door. Oddly though when you kill zombies or demons, you get candy that they all apparently carry around with them, so win-win.

How come this thread does not have a poll.
Oh and for favorite black heroes, Blade has been on the upswing lately but it is hard to go against the classics like T'challa and Cage.
I say that it is a tie between those two, and you know maybe Luke can bring some of the cool seventies vibe back to Marvel. I know it is a tired dated thing but I say bring back the yellow & blue uniform. Those were cool duds crew.
Marvel comics are getting kind of grim lately and they can always use some more cool flava.

Everyone should remember Misty because of Iron Fist and anyone who doesn't read Iron Fist doesn't count in polls.

The Avengers weren't Earth's Mightiest Heroes because they were the most powerful. They were Earth's Mightiest because they were damn good.

Loved it. Next to Static and Hardware I didn't have much interest for the character at first. What mostly got me to try this was that I've been interested in Milestone for years and Dwayne McDuffie wrote this. Now I will say that I am in fact a fan of both Icon and Rocket. Both characters play off well with each other and I love that despite their differences of beliefs, they both teach each other new things that they've never actually thought to consider. Icon and Rocket are truly inspiring characters and I'd love to read more.
I seriously hope the sales for this are good because I want to read the rest of this series. This and Static and I know for sure I'll be into the Hardware trade coming up. Milestone Forever, here I come!

I always heard that Icon was intentionally boring because the real story was about Rocket. Never read the stories myself so that wasn't my opinion, just something I remember from an interview with the creator. I really liked the way Static was handled in the cartoon, he didn't have the flaws that many "ethnic" characters of being either to much of a stereo type or going the other way being so generic, they don't seem to be informed by their ethnicity at all. With Static the character was clearly an African of American extraction, but the writers did beat you over the head with it either. Well at least that's my perspective as a white guy, or if my avatar is to be believed, a white fox in a red gi.

I don't know if this has already been posted and maybe everybody here has seen this already. If not then here ya go folks. I made a thread of this over on the Misc. Comics section.
Arcana Comics is proud to announce that the Black Jesus trailer is now online at arcana.com. Black Jesus (AUG09 0633), created by Jimmy Blondell and David Krintzman, asks the question what happens when someone is born different? Are they accepted? And if they are accepted, what are they accepted as? Chris is born with special gifts and every individual has their own beliefs. Is Chris a Mutant or a Messiah?
http://www.comicbox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/blackjesus-11.jpg
To coincide with the release of the book, Jimmy Blondell has created a trailer which he says, « … is a mash up of the Graphic Novel and the screenplay. I infused illustrations and iconography from the comic-book and then I added some rough cut footage from the screenplay. The music element I chose really added a dark edge that helped reflect the stories tone. »
The trailer can be viewed online at Arcana’s official website.
