Waxing amazed at how great the original "Back to the Future" was,.....
And having your son say:
What?
You describe the movie in detail,.. and he asks:
Did it come out and I missed it?

I'm normally not saying how great it is to hit kids (that's a lie) but you should hit him for the horribleness that is what he just did.

He wasn't here (born) WHEN THE TRILOGY was done.
He watches Star Trek TOS and wondered why I enjoyed it,... Until I told him it was cutting edge Science Fiction in 1964,....

Do kids nowadays really think that movies we saw in the 70's and 80's are for old farts?
20 years from now the next generation will be saying the same thing about HSM and Twilight.

Personally, I blame the parents. As a parent, it is your responsibility to keep a Back To The Future DVD in your home. If you don't steer your children toward good movies, who will?

You're right, that is depressing. When I was a kid, Looney Tunes came on Nickelodeon every afternoon, then moved to Cartoon Network every evening. The Bugs & Tweety Show came on Saturday mornings on ABC non-stop from the 1960's til the early 2000's.
Now I don't even know where you can find the Looney Tunes. I catch them on Boomerang once in a blue moon, but that network is 99% Hanna Barbera.

He's your son, if this means that much to you, you should have played the movie from him earlier. This is a fail on your part, not his.

I don't, I'm a teen & I think the best movies were from the '80s (Not big on movies from the '70s outside of classics like Jaws, Close Encounters, Star Wars & Alien).
