Carol Ferris is in Green Lantern.

Let's cast her. :woot:

Anne Hathaway, she's the right age, great actress, and I just found out she's already worked with Pine :D.

Why? The awkward girl who grew into her looks to become a hottie? Hathaway would own that. And if they ever include Star Sapphire, she'd fill out the costume beautifully.

As a rule, I want the female lead has the same age or younger than the male lead actor.

Pine & Hathaway or another 20 something actress will be great, but Pine & Russell - uh, uh. Worthington better be Hal Jordan for Russell to be Ferris.

So before the choosing the female lead, I like to know exactly who will be Hal Jordan.

Hathaway would sort of have it in should they go with Pine, since they have worked together before. That and with them not shooting until September, she would have a better chance of being available. I guess she finished Alice in Wonderland.
Other than her, either McAdams or Zooey Deschanel would be my top picks.

I think what you guys are missing here is that this movie is about Green Lantern and the role of Carol Ferris should not upstage that of the main character. Some of the actresses mentioned could easily overshadow the lead actor (be it someone like Pine or Worthington) and the part probably doesn't require that caliber of an actress. The way I was thinking was that you could fill the role with somebody that was cute and looked looked like a rich man't daughter. She would have to be misleadingly beautiful (the airhead type) enough to fool you into thinking that she couldn't possibly run an aircraft company (but yet she can). Somebody like Keri Russell could do that, but she is too old to match up with the candidates for the role of Jordan. Megan Fox wold be a good choice as well, but I think she is busy with other projects. In any case I don't think that this role needs a bigtime actress, just someone who looks like they come from wealth and can say a few lines beliveably. That's why I suggested Patridge.

All small roles, some of those not even out yet, and based on cameos in "Earl" and Madtv, you want to give her the lead in what is expected to me a major franchise? No, thanks. I'd rather someone who is a proven actress. She needn't be a big name, just not some reality show reject who gets a part because she looks good in a bikini.

You're clearly missing the point, as we want a good movie, not just an "actress" that can arouse.

....God help us all.

But in all seriousness nobody mentioned that the actress that should play Carol Ferris should be Oscar caliber but we dont wanted an airheaded, "how the hell did she become famous?", reality star chick(Audrina Patridge) playing Carol. Carol needs to be a good actress which Audrina Patridge is not.

Into the Blue 2= Straight to DVD..yeah that takes real acting

Sorority Row= If your a girl and can scream you can be in the movie. It hasnt even come out yet.

The Silent Killer= This movie hasnt even come out yet, not even a trailer. Sounds like a movie about farts

MadTV= Which actor cant get on the poor man's SNL, which was only funny to me in middle school

Do Not Disturb= Shes playing herself...on a TV show canceled after 3 eps

My Name is Earl= She had a brief stint on there its not even a starring role

PS If you at least if you mentioned Lauren Conrad I would have at least given you points saying she was hot, unlike Audrina Patridge who suffers severely from clayface.

For that person who suggested Eva Green, she's not a bad choice but she looks too European. Her piercing blue eyes would be distracting, for one.

There are dozens of actresses that can play Carol effectively and to a 'T' -- it simply can't bear the same when casting Hal. However, I would be EXTREMELY happy with either of the following:
- Rose Byrne
- Michelle Monaghan
- Rebecca Hall
- Morena Baccarin
- Keri Russell
- Victoria Hill

I'm not too sure with Hathaway, she still looks a bit too girlish to me.

Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar-winning actress, but Pepper Potts from Iron Man wasn't a huge character. That worked out well, which is probably the best example of this argument. So they should definitely look at someone like Hathaway as Carol Ferris.

I don't agree. The main core of the movie should always be The Hero (Hal Jordan), The Hero's love interest (Carol Ferris) and the Hero's enemy (Hector Hammond). Sinestro is the Hero's mentor (and future enemy), so, he's really important as well.

As long as you know the Carol is Star Sapphire, then I'd say that you should. It may not be the most common knowledge though.

what about pine/russell

Pine's too young for her.

Keri fits better with Worthington.

Though I think Keri is better suited to Lois Lane; she has more of a comedic quirky charm as opposed to Carol's more straight-laced but sexy personality.

There's no way they'll cast some CW tv actress. WB obviously learned their lesson with the Katie Holmes in Batman Begins fiasco.

Plus, everything about Alexis' acting style, voice etc is completely wrong for Carol Ferris and she has no visual resemblence to the character.

Who cares? Most women are petite. You watch too much wrestling.

And it doesn't matter if she's petite. If she's Sapphire she'll have a power ring <sorta> and if she's Carol Ferris all she's gotta look like is a woman.

The only reason she was a pilot was because her dad owned the place. She wasn't in the military or anything.

And besides it's a drawing. The only thing that an actress has to have is long brown hair.

by that logic we can have Queen Latifah, Monique or Rosie O Donnell be Carol

Something I've always been fuzzy on, in the comics, why does Carol become Star Sapphire? Is it just a "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" type of deal?
In the beginning, the Guardians of Universe had female mates. They abandoned Oa when the Guardians decided to abandon emotions, because they tough that made them weaker. The females headed to a planet called Zamaron, where they found a statue of two lovers in a cave. Covering the statue, there was a purple crystal that emmited a powerful energy. Seeing it as a sign, they took the name "Zamorans" and started abducting the lovers of the members of the Green Lantern Corps and infecting them with the crystal, that created a second personality, the Star Shappire, who's main goal was mate with the GL, and them, kill him and spread the crystal all over his home world, destroying it.

Carol Ferris is the Star Shappire's main target, because she's Hal's true love, but the crystal alredy possesed other women in his life: A Ferris Aircraft board comissioner called Beth Darnell, and, most recently, Hal's current girlfriend, military pilot Jill "Cowgirl" Pearlman.

Listen man, I'm tired of you finding alot of my post and putting them down and making stupid assumptions
Did I say I want her to wear pants? No. So stop making assumptions. I've been respectful and everything. Never insulted you or anything, so settle down

Hopefully they wont make her costume a hoe/stripper suit. The same thing goes for WW, Supergirl and any other women super hero story

Wonder Woman's costume is pretty close to what you are describing and you did say that the same thing goes for Wonder Woman, so yep, you did imply that you wanted her to wear pants (or something less revealing). There is no insult in that. You probably fall in the category of the majority of moviegoers.

Stop putting words in peoples mouths and then arguing with them, when their posts are as clear as day. Seemingly this happens to you in this section everyday. It's becoming tiresome. If he wanted one of the female characters to wear pants, he's type "I hope X wears pants w/ their costume" Something more modest could simply mean covering the midriff, or longer skirt etc.

You're also coming off as quite aggressive in every post. Also do not state that you know what the majority of movie goers want for these characters. The fact is the majority of movie goers have never even heard of half these characters until the movie is released, so i really doubt they have costume preferences.

There's also a difference between what WW wears, and what Star Sapphire wears which is similar to Vampirella style outfit. The latter are stripperish.

Now, Lobo, didn't you just see me repost what the guy said? I didn't put any words in his mouth. I was only pointing that out because, if you had been reading my previous posts on that topic, you very seldom see female superheroines dressed scantily clad. And what do strippers wear? I have said this before (http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=9948137&postcount=29) and I will say it again, it is doubtfull that you will see them pull off a successful Wonder Woman film in that outfit. You didn't have to. Just the mere fact that you said that you hoped that they didn't make Wonder Woman's outfit look like a stripper's implied that you wanted it to look more conservatie i.e. look more like the pant/skirt/coulot outfits that he has worn in the past. And yes, unless you want to clarify you self or retract your statement, saying that implies just that.

That's if they do Star Sapphire for the sequels. I cant really see them going down that road for some reason.
But if they do you can bet they are gonna do some serious alterations to the costume!
Think about it, we have people on here who are concerned that the general public will find Sinestro's moustache ridiculous... What are they gonna make of this-

http://xs137.xs.to/xs137/09133/greenlanternstarsapphire931.jpg

You arent gonna find anyone in Hollywood with a body like that who can actually, y'know... act.
Besides, even if they keep the costume as it is, Byrne'd still look damn good in it.
That's just the latest design. SS has had a few costumes in the comics and other media.

Don't know why people keep picking up "older" actresses for a possible young Hal actor like Chris Pine. :whatever:

Is there a list of 20-27 year old actresses? It's general knowledge that females matures faster than males, yet most of the gals here are aged 28-35. Fine for Worthington, not fine for Pine. Actually the same thing happened in the search for Sif. Kate Beckinsale or Lena Headey for Sif while Thor is early 30 Skarsgard? Are you kidding me?
