Desiring someone who actually looks like a 15 year old does not mean I want a Disney-Channel Spidey. I'm not sure you how much time you spend with 15-year oldds, but as a Freshman in high school I can promise you that having a "youthful face" does not cut it in terms of realistic resemblance. I really don't see how being believable makes a movie "so lame" as long as teen in question can act.

Perfect and his work with this director is genious and already makes him resemble parker even more than tobey ever did. He would have the perfect physique in that costume too. He can even look as young as he would need to for the role.

I just thought I'd post the pics, since she recently changed her hair to red. And people are already guessing about Spider-Man.


I don't think she looks great with red hair....not the complete stunner in the same way Mary Jane should be. She could pull off Gwen I think, hopefully not acting as sassy or obnoxious as she usually does in movies and on Heroes. So, not as MJ, perhaps as Gwen, but ultimately I'd prefer others over her.

As for Knepper as Norman, as long as he can speak without his accent in a more regular tone he could do it, but Fiennes seems like a fantastic choice.

Good point. Hmmm... it'll be interesting to say the least over the next few months, seeing who makes the cut.

It's kinda cool I have to admit, having everything sort of dropped on us at once in terms of news and developments. We're so used to hearing a film has been optioned and then the script is being worked on, then green lit and so forth, that we have forever and a day to speculate on casting and story. With this, it was announced one week with a script prepared already, then the next week, we had a director. I would imagine we would have a full cast by summer time, and a good idea of the plot line, in terms of villains and their motivations.

I actually enjoy Wizards of Waverly Place. It's the only show on Disney worth watching. It's actually genuinely funny. I watched that video interview with him posted a bit ago and didn't see anything particularly "douchey" about him. It seemed like a pretty impromptu interview, and he seemed to be trying to conduct himself in a cool, collected manner. As well he should have. Imagine you are an actor who all of a sudden has come up as a possibility for playing a major role. If this is your chance to make it known that you are interested, do you spend the interview geeking out, or do you take it as an opprotunity to voice why you think you'd be right for it? She asked why he thought he could play it, he explained that he would enjoy playing out the cahracter arc/transformation of pete from nerd to hero in disguise. I think he did a good job of showing his interest and making his case for why he should be considered to do it. When he says he'd annihilate it, I think he means more that he'd take on the role with great zeal and give it his best as opposed to being arrogant.

He's right though, he would be good. His character is able to balance having nerdy interests (he maintains an action figure collection, straight As, and is a member of the "alien language club" on the show), while still appearing as the average modern teen at school, secretly being a wizard, and having various female love interests periodically.

If you replace "wizard" with "super-hero", and "action figures/alien language" with "photography/comics/etc.", it sounds like Pete/Spidey to me.

He does have an in by being associated with Disney. Then again, he's on a long running popular show on the channel. Who knows what conflicts that would bring.

I'd be more than cool with David Henrie as Pete.

u all late. i've heard all the news. what i was getting at was that we had the same thing with raimi as the directer had three scripts finished, then he decided to fire the writer and pick a new writer, that script gets finished he decides to change it, they throw away the whole thing and decide to reboot and raimi is not the directer anymore. sometimes movies that are in production dont even get made. there's now real way of knowing until its actually out. but that's not my point at all my point is that it doesnt have to be real 15 year-olds only thats stupid. and we've already established that that wasnt even wat he ment. but i will say again that im sick and tired of people seein an actor takein one look at him and maybe think he looks young enough but wont make up their mind until they see his real age and since he's over 18 years old he's too old. i cant stand ignant people. there's nothin wrong with ignorant people, but ignant people need to sit down.

Quit being an idiot. Not one person here has said that the actor himself has to be 17. What we are saying is the actor has to be able to pull off a high schooler while still being an age that wouldn't possibly be affecting future sequels. That pretty much means for the high school characters, suggest actors born in the late 80s to early 90s. Understand now? :whatever:
