Of the actors listed I'd have to go with Anton Yelchin. I can't believe Logan Lerman is leading this poll. Who is voting on this, 12-year-old girls? Seriously, that kid barely looks old enough to be in Middle School let alone High School. And what's up with some of those lame choices in the poll? Mitchell Musso? Jeremy Sumpter? Devon... Worcestershire? That sounds like the cast of a Disney Movie not a Spider-Man movie. Oh, wait... ****.
When people say Yelchin for Spidey it makes no sense whatsoever. Hes got so many projects coming up that if he were casted as Spidey he would have to drop Star Trek more than likely which wouldnt be a smart move on his part.
Lerman looks like he is in middle school?
http://www.contactmusic.com/pics/lc/my_one_and_only_5_190809/logan_lerman_2544222.jpg
Oh he looks like he is 5 for a 18 year old... :whatever: Out of them all he looks the part and has the size for a high schooler which is probably why hes leading the poll.

though, don't normally care for director's playing favorites (but, if Webb wanted to include someone from 500DOS) I was just thinking, what about, Zooey Deschanel for Brant???
Hey! I actually like that casting. Very nice suggestion.
When will Sony make their decision already? all our suggestions will fall on deaf ears anyways.Hopefully. :hehe:

I think Zooey would make a good Betty Brant. I also agree that Logan Lerman is a great choice for Spiderman. I'd also like to see how Aaron Johnson does as John Lennon in Nowhere Boy. I've never seen him act before, but he looks the part as well. I like Anton for Terminator and Star Trek, but not as Peter Parker.

Yeah. Tommy is a little young looking, even if he can act. They are not going to cast a British actor as Spider-Man. That and Tommy can barely appear on his TV show (Sarah Jane Adventures) as is because of his school work, what makes you think he'd be able to do a major motion picture franchise?

Still don't think they'll cast him, though. If they want to do the entire trilogy in highschool, then he's definitely too old, but if they want to do it like Raimi did and only make Peter in highschool for the first movie, then I don't know...

Hey guys. This thread finally got me to sign up! lol
Here is my dream reboot:
Villain: Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan!)
Sub-villain: Mysterio (Ted Danson!)
Peter: Justin Bieber!!! Think about it. Cross over appeal, he's the right age. Perfect.
Maryjane: Dakota Fanning
Uncle Ben: Morgan Freeman
Aunt May: Glenn Close
I think with those actors being good actors and then with Bieber, this could be really good. Especially if they do Ultimate Spidey!!
I like this guy, he's got moxey

If he looks and acts the parts, I don't see why the GA wouldn't go watch the Movie, just because the actor is an unknown. I doubt they rushed to the theaters because Tobey was cast as Spider-Man.

This.
since the budget is so low, it's not like people are going to come and see some ill special effects. They are going to see acting and a lot of it. If the budget was not 80 million, i'd say sure, cast an unknown, as long as the effects kick ass. This time we're depending on something other than action/effects. Gordon-Levitt can be that something.

Still dubious of that $80 million budget.
Sony would be fools to downgrade the level/amount of Spidey web slinging and fighting after what we've seen in SM1-3.

As can be someone we haven't seen before. Being unknown doesn't equal bad acting.

yeah i agree with that. The only issue i have is that 17-18 year old actors don't really "come off" as great actors. I would also like to see ANton Yelchin. He could pull it off, but committments to Star Trek, etc. makes it a pipe dream

^ first of all, 16, is hardly alil kid, these days, and secondly, who said anything about a 16 year old, I haven’t heard a single suggestion under 18 (17, maybe) the movie still a couple years out, and you also got to keep sequels in mind, sure, a teen might seem like a little kid, now (which would be kinda fitting for the role in the first movie, anyway) but, in a fews years when the squeal comes out, they'll be nearly in their 20's (and still playing a teen)
most people are just saying, they don't want to see a mid 20's + actor in the role of a teen
(I don't see how that unreasonable)
Yeah, when I first saw the Percy Jackson trailer I thought it was going to be a Spider-Man rip-off before I realized what it was.

Bias is a thick veil which can more often than not conceal the truth.
Well I don't want to drag this off topic discussion on any longer but anyone here is free to find images of these guys and their filmography and see if any of these "brahs" are apt to play Captain America.
They need to find an actor with a Jermey Renner vibe of solidarity and badassery displayed in the battlefield (Hurt Locker).

I just enjoy fan casting, for the sake of fan casting, I don't actually believe, any of my or most other choice will happen, its just fun to play around with different ideas
although, you got to admit that fan casting has actually improved over the more recent years, an alot more fan picks, have actually been getting roles, then ever before...
I mean for years the only name fans could claim was, Bale, but, think about how many movies just the last few years have been cast with fan picks (not necessary because they were fan pick, probably more accurate to say despite them being fan picks lol, but, still)

Emma Stone for Mary Jane Watson. Girl next door beautiful with a little bad girl edge and eyes that look like Romita drew them. Also someone that conceivably could be a supermodel. Proof in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdkCtTx_eG4&feature=related

Whenever I see Ralph now I think of his character from Schindler's List.. not a good comparison.
I want Anton for PP.
By the way, Logan Lerman has the next Percy Jackson film set to release in 2012. That would most likely conflict in filming Spider-Man. So, I don't know if he's too likely to get the role.
I think "Percy Jackson - Lightning thief" will be the next "Golden compass": great books, underperforming movie... resulting in Lerman not being comitted to make sequels.
Thus he'd be free for Spidey ;)

Wow. How can anyone look at this and not see how potentially great looking she can be in the role? I know there are moments where she looks a bit average, but this vid proves that with just a teeny bit of work, she can be made to look like a supermodel.

MEW definitely has the looks for MJ, and in different circumstances she'd probably be perfect....however, if they're putting the characters back in high school she's an unrealistic candidate as she looks like a college student at her youngest. so while i agree that she's hotter than Emma, Stone is the more likely/realistic of the 2 choices.
Stone's not the most perfect girl for MJ, but she's tons better than Dunst. i, personally, would rather see someone else but i certainly wouldn't be whining if she got the role.

Amber Heard is too smoking for Gwen. Gwen should be simply cute as a button. MJ and Felicia are smoking. Gwen's cute with a sweet personality that guys like.
Heard should be Felicia if anyone.
Plus GoldGoblin, the film can have both Gwen and MJ and have the focus on Gwen. It's not entirely impossible to have them both at the same time. It's not unprecedented in any of the media forms Spider-Man's been in.

exactly...just cuz a girl is attractive doesn't mean they fit Gwen or MJ. they have different looks and personalities and you pretty much nailed it. Gwen is the REAL girl next door type, kind of innocent and sweet. MJ is supposed to make guys instamatically **** in their pants.
so if anything Amber Heard would be better off for MJ, but i think she's a bit too old. she could pass for a Senior high schooler, but not as a Freshy or a Sophy.

Later on she can go through some transition where Peter sees her. In a similar fashion of Spectacular (tv series)/Ultimate (although one had her as rebellious and the other as a "nerd").
Someone mentioned they like the idea of Gwen's beauty being hidden by some sort of "non attractive" qualities (glasses, attire, and interest).
Once she breaks from this aesthetically we can see hot Gwen but still keeping the qualities that made her Peter Parkers friend.

Big fan of Logan Lerman for Peter. I wasn't originally but he seems pretty likable after watching some of his stuff and he has the look.
I really don't like the Sky High kid or the Dekker guy.
Anton Yelchin would be a solid Harry Osbron.
I am however not a fan of many of the Mary Jane or Gwen Stacey choices, I would go with an unknown there. She has to be able to act, have attitude and be hot.

good luck findin an unknown with all that talent.

Great personality, around the right age, can act, and looks like MJ.

I do not understand how someone could look at that picture and watch that video and say she's not hot and looks nothing like MJ. She looks alot like how Mary Jane has been depicted through out the years especially her eyes and a beautiful smile. Also she has a very outgoing force of personality that would not be overshadowed by Peter in the film which is a trait that was heavily emphasized in Mary Jane especially in her initail appearances. Also Emma is hot enough to model for Maxim and to be ranked in their hot 100.
i dont see any resemblance between the two. and she's far from bein hot enough to be ranked in the top 100. it gets way, way hotter than emma stone. y would anyone choose her over several others that look way better than her. i honestly do not see anything hot about her froggish eyes and on top of that i dont see how she looks like mj

Spider-Man/Peter Parker: Anton Yelchin http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0947338/
I think that while Anton is a great choice for Harry, as some have suggested. He is too big a star to take a back seat in a Spider-Man film. He's a great actor and I think could pull off Peter's persona perfectly.
Mary Jane Watson: Isabel Lucas http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1456970/
An absolute stunner whose just getting her claws into Hollywood. Dye the hair red and there you have it.
Gwen Stacey: Dianna Agron http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1872698/
I just feel that she's perfect for this part looks-wise. Character can be worked on.
Harry Osborn: David Henrie http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1273708/
Couldn't really think of anyone else to be perfectly honest. Harry will more than likely be a no name actor anyway.
Norman Osboen/Green Goblin: Ralph Fiennes http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000146/
Looks, personality. You name it.. He'd make a great Norman. Very menacing, let can hold down the goodish role for the first film.
Dr. Curt Conners/The Lizard: Giovanni Ribisi http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000610/
Great actor, right amount of fame to fit right in as a Comic Book Villain.
Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus: Christoph Waltz http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0910607/
Now, I know Otto is more of a rounder man.. But I just really like Waltz for this role. With the coat, glasses and coat I really think he'd look the part.
Uncle Ben: Sam Neill http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000554/
Amazing actor.. know he's a bit younger than most people are going for. But the actor for Ben isn't too important anyway.
Aunt May: Glenn Close http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000335/
I had another blank here.. Just tried to get the general age right between May and Ben. Since she's a good actress I just went with her.
Eddie Brock/Venom: Sam Worthington http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0941777/
Do I really need to explain? With Sam taking all these leading hero roles, he'll need to take a refreshing role in a few years. This is it.
J. Jonah Jameson: Stephen Lang http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002332/
No one can touch JK Simmons, cut Lang would come very close.

That's so cliché it makes me sick.
Sure the example is.
Although they don't even need to take that route seeing as the 616 Gwen is introduced as being hot.
She can be hot and still be friends with Peter. That'd actually be interesting.
Unless thats too "cliche" as well.

I could see this viewpoint with a lot of her pics and videos, but this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdkCtTx_eG4&feature=related) photoshoot...I don't see it. Her worst flaws (dorky smile and big forehead) are not seen there, and when she's just straight-on putting the "model face", I honestly can't fathom how any one fails to see at least some sort of resemblance to MJ.

I never thought of that. And I still think Jamie Lee Curtis would be a PERFECT Aunt May. Even more so for the Ultimate universe.
And it seems like everyone things Stephen Lang would be the best JJJ now.

It's not like we can get any of the girls we're considering for MJ anyway.
Emma Stone is quite attractive. I mean, we don't want MJ to be distractingly hot. We don't want MJ so amazingly perfect that she looks weird that she settled for a nerd like Peter.
MJ is the girl-next-door type. Very pretty, wholesome, and natural. A girl you'd get a crush on. Not a hardcore porn star with huge knockers, huge lips, and dresses like a floozie.

Depends. In the Ultimate comics (which I thought this reboot was going to be based after) MJ isn't the most attractive "sexpot" on earth. She's just an attractive girl.

Why? She looks just like Ultimate Aunt May and she has that ex-hippy vibe going on. What is there to laugh at? The chick you suggested looks too old for Ultimate Aunt May and she most certainly doesn't look like an ex-hippy. I think I agree on the choice of Thomas Dekker for Peter. The Lerman and Yelchin selections just seem way out. Whoever plays him has to wear a spandex suit, and some of these choice just seem like they really are about 13 in physical appearance. I'm all for restricting the 25yr old with stubble playing a 15 year old. But conversely there has to be a limit in just how weedy/early-pubescent the actor looks. Yelchin for Harry however? Sure - very much looks the part

lerman is fine physique wise, all he would have to do is spend 6 months to add 20 pounds and muscle definition, the suit would do the rest. I've always wanted a SKINNY spider-man, someone who looks more like a ballet dancer than a boxer someone who looks like he couldn't hurt a flea but can pick up a house.

i mean no disrespect, but u cant be serious. may and ben are peters parents siblings they're their aunt and uncle too. these two are way too young. ben and may should be old enough to pass for his grandparents. unless there's some reason y they're so young.

I think that Logan Lerman make a good Peter Parker, and good Spider-Man from the Ultimate Universe

I have no favorites or choices. I'm just gonna sit back and see who. I prefer if they go with unknowns.

I think Peter and his highschool gang can be unknowns but I think the villains and certain characters like JJJ shouldn't be.

well, obviously as a young actor, those are the type of roles he's been somewhat limited to up to this point in his career, but, I am sure thats not his only interest, in fact this years he is currently working on "Red Dawn" and "Carmel" which are far from family comedies
