View Full Version : Norman Osborn Casting Thread
I cannot find one, so if there is one, link me and I'll merge it. And I know we have a villain thread, but lets face it, Osborn needs his own. Even if he's not the main villain odds are he is going to be involved in some capacity.
My choice is a bit unorthodox, but since this is partially based on Ultimate Spider-Man, I say we use Ultimate Norman as inspiration.

My choice...
Craig T. Nelson! He looks just like Ultimate Norman.

Not the best choice, granted. So who do you want?

Ray Wise has been my pick forever now for Norm.
I love Ray Wise, but see him playing Hammerhead. He's almost too...hmm...mobster-esque for Norm.

maybe a bit young to have a kid as old as Harry, but

Norman looks so much like Tommy Lee Jones in that pic.
I would go with either Ralph Fiennes or Hugo Weaving for Norman.

Yeah, i would say he was more of a good choice for Ned, as he comes across as the really nice guy so easily, but i imagine he would be a good enough actor to spin off the rails. I haven't seen him play anything other than the nice guy, but can imagine him doing crazy well.
I think Norman has to look at least quite imposing from moment one, Ray Wise is a great choice.
Can't come up with anyone else myself at the moment.
edit: Robert Knepper could be good, but he is a little small.

Adrian Pasdar. Honestly. And I am not just saying this due to his Heroes stint. Ralph Fiennes and Hugo Weaving are like the default villain choices nowadays. Or Mark Strong. Or Jason Issacs. Or Gary Oldman. I could give you a laundry list.
OZZY OSBOURNE! What? He got Osbourne in his name, it would be epic! lol
Anyway, They might ask Nicholas Cage since he was Raimi's first choice. But I think a lot of the picks discussed here are pretty awesome ^^

Oooo Nic Cage ay? He's at his best when he plays crazy bastards. After watching Bad LT I could really see him as Joker, or maybe Goblin.

Norman can look bat **** crazy after he becomes the goblin. He looks normal, good old loving dad but then he goes psycho. I just don't think Hamm has the face to pull it off. You have to have some crazy in your eyes. Norman is the kind of guy who has the nice warm smiling face and then can turn and look the other way and has that evil sadistic look on his face. I just don't see that in Hamm.

I'm thinking I should pursue a career as a producer / casting director. Not trying to brag or anything.. but I did suggest Downey, Jr. before he was cast. And Chris Nolan for Batman back when he did Insomnia.

I think we need to get Crispin Glover for this! I mean, if he would have been good enough to pull of the Joker, then imagine the possibilities with Osborn! How much different are they really?
And can we get Nolan as director still? They can fire that lame Webb guy. If he is good enough for Batman and to be a consultant on Superman, then he is our man for TDK Spidey!
