Well JAL I finally saw Paranormal Activity.

It did keep me in suspense, cause I was kinda waiting for something to happen each night.

I'll probably give it a 3 out of 5 stars on Netflix.

How does it keep you in suspense? Or are you confusing that with boring? Yeah, you were waiting and nothing happen. But like I said, I''m not surprised you liked it. What did you NEED to see blood and gore for it to be considered a horror movie?

Sometimes what isn't shown is scarier than what isn't.

I have no qualms of watching a movie with excessive gore, I've watched most of them but I do think there is something about "implying" instead of "showing".

It almost seems like you dislike it because it's not YOUR typical horror movie and this movie was pretty generally received and did pretty well.

Well, everyone else is allowed to stick their two cents opinion in about what movies think they suck and whatnot. But course that's all cool and whatever when people wanna hate on whatever else movies, but I say I think a movie is boring and I second degree.

Its a opinion learn to live with it. And you can only go so long with out never showing anything and pissing off the viewers. I eventually something to happen damn it! Not watch these two normal people do nothing really!

Only thing creepy about this movie is how money this made and how much people love it and defend it. There is obviously no script to this, but people don't see to care about this, nor are either of them likable characters.

I could atleast 5-10 horror movies I thought were better. cause I wouldn't even call PA a Horror movie. Its more a less a Suspense movie, even if you can call it that. When I watch a movie, I wanna feel like I'm actually watching a movie. If i wanna watch "reality" I'll watch tv or go outside. People only love it since it was made on such a show string budget and cause of its such "originality" And how it beat the system and all the other mainstream movies.

Okay, but I know what you mean about people turning their backs on you.

I had it happen last year. It was from who I thought was my best friend of over 15 years. He would rather go off and just go get laid then help me with something. I mean he said he help me with something long before he got a GF. But after that he disappeared like he was a ghost or something. and it seemed like he didn't even wanna answer my calls, like if he saw my number on his phone he let it go straight to voice mail.

But the hell with him, who needs a friend who will do that to you anyway. I mean I'm not gonna listen to him be all mopey and whiny when she breaks up with him like i used to do in the past.

Well, everyone else is allowed to stick their two cents opinion in about what movies think they suck and whatnot. But course that's all cool and whatever when people wanna hate on whatever else movies, but I say I think a movie is boring and I second degree.
Why do you feel the need to portray the victim EVERY time someone tries to discuss something with you?

Its a opinion learn to live with it.
YES, everyone has a right to their opinion but we are on a MESSAGEBOARD where ideas and opinions are discussed and yes often criticized.

When you state an OPINION, be prepared to have it DISCUSSED especially if it's an unpopular one.

But please for the LOVE OF EVERYTHING, enough with the "WORLD AGAINST JAL" excuse you repeatedly try and get people to have sympathy for you.

They ARE NOT bashing you because of your opinion. They ARE bashing you because of the way you put your opinion across.

Let's take a look.

LOL. I knew someone like you would enjoy that.

But like I said, I''m not surprised you liked it.

But glad you enjoy mediocrity.

Yeah, nice examples of gently discussing a topic JAL. What do you mean, someone like me?

Lastly, AGAIN, feel free to state your opinion. No one is stopping you. Just remember you are on a messageboard and the idea is to discuss, often defend and sometimes debate your thoughts.

And PLEASE, don't turn into a child every time someone challenges your opinion with the following:

What, I"m not allowed to have an opinon?
I guess it's bad to think the way I do.
Etc.

Okay, JAL, now it's your turn to ignore everything I wrote and reply with:

"Fine. I just won't state my opinion ever again."

Which completely means you didn't really read one word I said. :whatever:

The Apatow Crew
03-19-2010, 10:50 AM
No, I say its cause that's my opinion. I'm not playing the "victim".

Everyone and their mother is allowed to say they thought Transformers 2 sucked donkey nards. Or any other movie for that matter. Then I rightfully think I'm allowed to say I thought a movie was boring and suspenseful.

I see people trash movies on here all the time, so why should it be any different when I do it? Just cause a few people like it. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion and this is mine, so just deal with it.

Erzengel
03-19-2010, 10:55 AM
No because you get upset when people try and debate your opinions.

Your only excuse is, "Well that's my opinion." Okay, why do you feel the movie is good? What are it's positives? Or if you don't like a movie, why? What are the cons?

That's how you should speak on here and not have your JALtrums.

And JAL, even I bought Transformers 2 when it came out to blu-ray, but even I was like yeah, it was kinda sucky. Not GI Joe sucky but they could have done so much more.

As someone who's Asian, ironically I didn't care much for seafood for most of my life. Only time I would eat it would be shrimp next to a steak (which I didn't like for most of my life because my family always prepared it well done). But after I learned the wonderfullness of medium rare and medium, I started off with salmon, sea bass, tilapia and moved to clams and mussels and finally to sushi. Things White People Like #42: Sushi

Regardless if you are vegetarian, vegan, or just guilty about eating meat, all white people love Sushi. To them, it’s everything they want: foreign culture, expensive, healthy, and hated by the ‘uneducated.’

But there are different levels of white person Sushi love. At the bottom are the spicy tuna/california roll eaters. These are the people who get their fix at places named “Rock And Roll!” “Magic Sushi Company,” or Trader Joes-type supermarkets. Often times, this sushi isn’t the most authentic, but white people can’t get enough!

The next level up is the entry level Sushi snob, these are people who still love rolls, but are willing to branch out to Salmon and Tuna sashimi, maybe even eel.

Finally, you have the white sushi snob. These people just take it all way too far. Often times, they will only sit at the sushi bar, will try to order in Japanese and will only order Omakase These people will often be extremely critical of anyone who eats a roll of any type or does not properly flip the nighiri into their mouths.

When white people get Sushi they all want to order Sake to complete the authentic experience.

So, how can this information be turned into personal gain?

White people are obsessed with finding good sushi, therefore if you offer to take them to ‘the best sushi place’ in town, you are sure to have them accept. If you are asian man, this is an almost no-fail method of getting dates with white girls, and maybe, just maybe joining Bruce Lee and Paul Kariya’s dad.

In addition, going out for Sushi is considered a special evening in white person culture. Not as special as breakfast, but still, it comes with expectations.

But what if the person you are interested in is a vegetarian? Not a problem. For some reason, most white people who say they are vegetarians will eat Sushi. Apparently, fish aren’t cute enough to warrant inclusion with pigs, chickens and cows.

I liked the GI JOE movie and thought it a entertaining summer action flick and this is coming from someone who uses to watch the older cartoons back then. Same with the TFs show and cartoon movie.I thought the GI Joe movie sucked. :( We didn't even watch the whole thing. It was like watching Power Rangers.

I didn't watch any of the GI JOE cartoons either...so for me, the recent movie was just a fun summer action movie...I had no preconcieved ideas for the show to get upset about.

My brother sent me a copy of the Turkish Captain America movie 3 DEV ADAM today. I've never seen it (just some pics from it)...but I collect as many comic book related movies as I can. I'll try and watch it this weekend.

I used to watch Joe as a kid and collect the figures. But I didn't have high hopes for the film because it's not as if the source material is worth anything more than a fix of nostalgia for kids born in the 80's. For all intents and purposes, the fact that I didn't have as much invested in the characters made the changes fun and exciting for me. Overall I enjoyed the movie, it wasn't Ironman or Star Trek, but it was entertaining. Certainly better than the Wolverines and Terminators of this past summer.

Star Wars, Jaws are examples of fun Summer movies that are actually good. I don't know why some people give movies a pass under the guise of "good summer popcorn movie", is it so much to want it to be good?

I wanted GI Joe to be good but what I saw was an insult to my eyes. :(

Sometimes...it causes no harm to just have fun at the movies. Could the story, acting, FX, etc have been better....sure....but I was watching a movie called GI JOE based on a toy and a cartoon series made to sell the toys....so I didn't exactly go in expecting Shakespeare.

Even without any preconceived notions, how can anyone like Origins? It was all flash and no substance, it was like an early 90's Van Damn film. I could understand liking Transformers or Joe because they at least have a coherent story. Wolverine was so inconsistent, the plot tried to go everywhere in a very small amount of time, which may have worked if properly executed but just look at the first 10 minutes of the film and you will see how convoluted that film was...

Maybe sometimes some people like a little flash with no substance. It was fun to watch. It had drama, action, and humor. The fact it didn't follow the comics perfectly didn't bother the people who hadn't lived the comics.

Just have Stryker think that the bullet was going to kill him, shoot him and then when Wolverine wakes up by Gambit, the audience realizes he doesn't remember anything. I don't personally need to be spoon fed.

Then make an edit of the movie where you remove Stryker saying it will make him forget.

To me...I know that Stryker is doing all kinds of experiments on all types of mutants....so I don't need it spoon fed to me that he has a way of knowing that an adamantium bullet to his head will screw with his memory.

Erzengel

But he shouldn't have a way of knowing that a bullet would screw with his memory. How can he?

He states, something to the effect that this should stop him and if it doesn't it should erase his memory.

Wolverine is the first to have the adamantium bonded to him, then he tries it on Deadpool. It's just crappy writing.

So again, how can he possibly just know that it would erase his memory. It would have just made more sense that it was just a consequence of the shooting.

sabetoonth

Ryker also tells Sabertooth that he wouldn't survive the procedure...so obviously they have tried it on someone else before to have an idea of what it will do to mutants.

If you don't like the movie, fine.....I liked it, and see no major problem with how it was written. I have never read Deadpool....I didn't know who half the other mutants that people complained about were.....I can see how there is a possible logical explanation for the memory loss....all in all, it was a fun exciting movie for me.

X-Men 3 just gets me heated in a big way. At least Wolverine didn't have to follow X2, so it wasn't expected to be a masterpiece.

X3 pisses me off for a hundred reasons, but what really got under my skin was the death of Cyclops, the unexplained absence of my favorite character from X2 (Nightcrawler), American Colossus, Brit Juggernaut and the bastardization of the "Astonishing X-Men" Arc. I mean, Angels involvement in the movie was pointless and they wasted Ben Fosters talent by giving him almost no lines.

He takes the Super soldier formula and goes on one mission before being frozen in the arctic. He doesn't jump on the rocket in a moment of self sacrifice to save America.....he has his butt handed to him by Red Skull (who happens to be Italian, not German in the movie) and is tied to it by the Skull.

The action is real bad...the script has more plot holes than Swiss cheese. There are some good actors in it...which makes it all the more sadder.

Yeah, to all those people who I watched it. I figure might aswell, I watched the first.

I saw Repo Men also. I didn't pay though, someone said they wanted to see it and just jokily, I said if you pay I'll see it. And they were right.

I have to say besides the whole organs being reposed and a company doing it. Not much else in common. I guess maybe if you compare the bosses at the company going after their top man.
