View Full Version : Is Anyone Else Done With Winter, Professionally?

Yeah, us Southerners in Virginia and such are complaining, but this storm that's about to hit is just too much f****** snow. I was fed up with snow after the first big storm back in December, and now this s***? I would be glad to never see snow again for a few years. Anyone else in the Va/DC area sick of all this snow?

Try being in west NY near Lake Erie, we get hit with those wonderful (sarcasm mode on) lake effect snowfalls. where I live we have 3 seasons, fall, winter, summer , its like winter lasts so long it does not start getting warm till late april/early may :(.

I will probably be getting around 6-8 inches of snow where I live. It will suck but I got some DVDs from netflix to keep me company!

Socially, me and winter have grown a little distant. We're both professional enough to not let it affect our business relationship, though.

They're calling for 16-28 inches here in central Va, and we got 24 in the storm in December. Seriously, this is the worst winter I've ever been through, and this weekend could very well drive me insane (well, more than I already am). I have never craved 80-90 degree weather this much in my life.

At least I stocked up on some movies I hadn't seen yet, including The Wrestler, Platoon, Wall-E, and....The Thing....PERFECT movie to watch when snowed in, in a house sitting on 67.5 acres of field and forest

You live in a forest?

Go Watch Blair Witch :awesome:

Well, the front half of the property is field for the cows, with woods on the sides separating the neighbors, and in the back is the old house with some more open field and then the woods with about a mile's worth of fire trails but yeah, any horror movies dealing with isolation/the forest is not the greatest choice at this house.

You can always trek three hours north where Oklahoma got s*** on last week. The fun thing is that if it does snow there in Dallas, all you need is some beers, a lawn chair, and a good view of a busy street and you've got entertainment.

EDIT: Oops.

I'm in the midwest. I just accept snow until April as a fact.

You're more than welcome to have what's heading our way here in Va, Mistress. It was fun for about ten minutes back in December until I was shoveling hundreds of pounds of this crap off the back porch.

I think Virgina has been hit with more snow that Pennsylvania this year. I think we've had one big storm. Other than that, we'd get maybe 3-5 inches overnight. The south has been hit with how many storms?

El_Citrus

Virginia's had at least 4 snows thus far. One light one in early December, the big one in December, and then two average snows here in January, not counting this massive one approaching (DNW). Not only that, but there's supposed to be more coming in next week. Epic DO! NOT! WANT!

Just because I accept it as inevitable doesnt mean I like it. Its like death.

From what I can understand, it's some kind of rain, only colder.

Yes, I am extremely sick of it. Every time I've had a day off the past two weeks where I needed to go run errands, it's ****in snowed. This weekend, I have to be at work (hospital), so I'll be spending the night at a coworker's tonight who lives close. Such a pain :down

God needs to learn how to keep his stuff on the table. Keep spilling it like that, and he'll run out of his supply quicker. Then his dealer might start overcharging him.

I know right... Spring is pretty much late winter in the NE. I am not that far north but still. It was freaking mid June last year and we basically had chilly rain and lows in the mid 50's and highs of 65 tops for weeks on end.

Yeah, NE has god awful weather, particularly in NH.

Did you hear that their legendary Big Wind (I think that's what it's called) is no longer considered the fastest wind ever recorded? But that didn't stop the same people from saying NH probably has the worst weather to live in. =/
