Very interesting. Robbins does indeed resemble Sarsgaard, so kudos to Campbell and the casting director.

I have to say...I did NOT see this coming. I always thought of Tim Robbins as one of those serious actors.

Then again Tim Robbins was in War of the Worlds, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, Anchorman, Bullworth... why did I think he was a "serious" actor again?

Oh right. Shawshank... my bad.

Thor, Green Lantern, and soon Cap.

Sometimes I wake up and honestly can't believe it.

He was EXCELLENT in The Player.

First rumoured to be Tony Stark's father, now Hector Hammond's. Every single bit of casting has been a homerun.

It already is. Ryan Reynolds is more awesome than all of the 'Thor' cast combined.

He's Ryan ****in' Reynolds for ****'s sake. :woot:

Tim Robbins is cool too. Great casting. :yay:

Tim Robbins is an excellent additiion to the cast!.........Now if only they could delete/rewrite Senator Hammond's dreadful last line from the first draft script.:woot:

I knew that they would start adding some big names to this. Great choice. I bet we'll get a big name for Martin and some of the aliens

Good choice. I seriously hope that whole dynamic between father and son was rewritten. That was perhaps the worst part of the script.

How would you change it?

luckily there was a rewrite recently by Michael Goldenberg.

The drift between Hector and his dad seemed forced and a little manipulative to make Hector a more..pathetic but sympathetic character. I think it needs to be clear that Hector's new powers will drive him crazy, even if he was a well liked guy.

Goldenberg needs to hammer down the 'paranoia' angle with Hector a little bit, to show that yeah, he's a bit of a misfit but even the most noble person can go insane and hateful if he/she got these powers.

He was also great in Mystic River and of course Shawshank!

Cool casting. I'm just surprised that Robins would take a small role in a comic book movie.

how small was the role in the first draft. Just wanted to get a feel even though we know the script has changed alot. So the role could have gotten a bigger part.

Tim Robbins is a moron. He probably saw the word "green" in the title and thought it was another chance to promote the man-made global warming hoax.

I'm gonna say this: I had a good conversation with some friends about this. Even if 'global warming' is over-exaggerated or fake, it's just completely stupid to not think that the Earth's climate is changing. Be it too much people on earth or a natural progression.

Also, I can't figure out how we think there's an unlimited supply of dead dinosaurs...we've got to find something.

And I can't see where Tim Robbins is a moron. He may be wrong in one's point of view, but he doesn't seem stupid to me. George Will is wrong, but he's not stupid.

Lastly, I like the casting. If we get similar weight for Hal's dad and Mr. Ferris, that'd be cool.

that's why I leave my 'global warming' door half way open because if Waterworld happens in real life, I can safely say that I didn't doubt it (if I survived).

Also, I saw some nasty pictures of the pollution in China where it looks like a wasteland. Here it is:

Anyway, hooray for Tim Robbins.

Robbin's last lines better be to his son, "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!"
