The more I listen to it the more I'm convinced that it's not Chloe.
The "Maybe your true purpose is to lead your own people" line is definitely by Chloe.

Until I see it for myself I'll keep my stance and say it's not her.
I can understand how it may sound like her at 1st, especially the 1st few words, but then it kind of changes tone and not something Chloe-like.

Fair enough. Me...I'm more sure that it's Chloe than I am about Zod being the one saying the first couple of lines. And we can actually see Zod saying them (not that anyone could mistake his voice). :oldrazz: I was just exaggerating (obviously) to show just how sure I am. We'll see.

Before that line, you can hear a "crushing" sound, I don't know what that is.
The timing is key here. Who will Clark take care of 1st? Zod's soldiers or Zod himself? Does Clark fight Zod before or after he sees his destiny?
The crushing sound effect could be anything from a sound effect specific to the spot, or a sound effect from the actual episode, maybe even from the same scene. Who knows.
Maybe the other heroes who show up in the finale are key to helping Clark stop the Kandorian soldiers.

yea i totally love the canada promos for the show. the candian networks make some great promos. as for the look up in the sky line, i was just thinking since we know clark and zod are battleing on roof tops what if its just folks pointing up towards the buildings the fights are happening on?
KalKai
05-12-2010, 10:06 PM
If that was the case then the line would read "Look, up on the roof top!"
;) :D

So the glimspe of the future Ausiello was talking about was Smallville.
He does say characters, so its just not Clark but others as well!

So that red dot in the air form the space promo could be lois's glimspe into the future. Probably her first sighting of superman.
I don't think so. More on the lines of Clarks superman eye glimpse...

Man, now it's killing me even more as to what's going to happen on Friday with this future glimpse. Trying not to get too excited, because surely we aren't going to see more of Supes than that \S/ in Clark's eye or that would just spoil the series finale...really hope they don't disappoint.

Agreed! I can't wait to see more Chloe scenes, especially the Chlollie ones.
Those in LA are SO lucky.
In Los Angeles, Smallville airs on The CW (KTLA) at 8 pm. If you tune in early (during the 6 - 7 o'clock hour), you will have a chance to see a very special "Legendary: A Chloe Sullivan Appreciation Project (http://legendarychloe.com/)" PSA that was completely fan created to say thank you to Allison Mack for nine years of hard work on the show. The commercial will air twice during that hour and will only be available here in Los Angele

Can't believe it's the finale tomorrow. This season feels like it's gone by quickly... It may not have been all that I was hoping it would be, but I have a feeling that the finale might leave a pretty good impression... Well, before the insanity of the tomorrow's counting down begins, let me say, here's to one more, and one last, summer between seasons, and one last pre-premiere ComicCon panel and preview.

Zorex
05-13-2010, 08:30 PM
Though nobody will absolutely confirm nor deny, I think it's the general assumption that it is, indeed, the final year. I'm crossing my fingers that it is, because that could mean a really fantastic final season in which the runners are able to stop stalling and holding back and complete the story that started a decade ago. Just think, this time next year, we could all be getting ready for this show's Clark Kent to finally assume the identity of Superman.
...In an utterly fantastic 2-hour finale.
I will accept nothing less.
Binker
05-13-2010, 09:45 PM
Well it will be cool if the series finale episode is not called something indicating "the end", but instead the series finale to be this: 10x22 Superman. Don't you agree?
But it will have to be the final year/season anyway, right? Simply put; how much longer can they do this show, even when this character has already literally BEEN Superman, with the only difference is that he hasn't called himself that nor worn the costume or flew, but has even set up his mild-mannered Clark Kent persona already. So technically, he is most likely 95% ready.
Webhead2006
05-13-2010, 10:06 PM
nice photos, i know the chloe/ollie haters wont really like them.
Yea the general consesus is that season ten is likely the end. We will probably find out either next week during the fall upfronts, or they could hold off the reveal to july's comic con panel and all that. But it would be great if it is and we know before the season starts up. So it can be promoted as the end and all that. Plus would probably help the writers out to know it is the end so they can have a clear finish to things.

I still say the final episode of Smallville will need to jump 5 or 6 years ahead in order to show Superman's first appearance, or Clark deciding to be Superman.
Especially given how young Jimmy Olsen's kid brother is... and the other characters..even Dan Turpin was a young dude last season
I think the current producers are keeping with Al/Miles plan for Clark to only decide to be Superman when he's 30; like S:TM.
All this means, Clark is likely still going to be The Blur/Red-Blue Blur for another 5 or 6 years..

High points from Beeman's blog...
Also, Alison Mack. It was amazing to see her again. She was just a girl of 18 or 19 when the show began. Now she is a woman, so mature and together. She was going through some changes on this episode, because she was choosing to move on from the show. It looks like she’ll be back for a couple of episodes but not full time. She and I got to talk about the experience of leaving behind something that you’ve grown so attached to.
Interestingly, the scenes that open the show (The ones where we see Lois in the future and where Clark gets the mysterious package from Martha) were not originally in the episode. The show opened with Lois meeting Zod.
The big project on this episode was the final sequence between Zod and Clark. From the time Clark arrives on the rooftop, through the Kandorians arriving and the Book of Rao placed in the dais and the fight and the rain and Clark getting stabbed and dying and Zod flying away (I TOLD YOU NOT TO READ IF YOU DIDN’T WANT TO HEAR SPOILERS!!!!) was all one long sequence.

I'm not a fan of who "dies," as it feels kind of gimmicky. I'm sure they'll have a perfectly Smallvillian way to explain it away.
As for the future peek, I think we're going to get a major Superman reference. My guess is that it'll be assumed that Superman exists AS Superman, so when Lois hears the "up in the sky line," maybe we see a wry smile on her face. Dunno.
The Zod/Clark battle is going to be awesome, I think - very similar to the season opener a few years ago with Zod in Lex.
Thrilled that Chloe will be a part-timer next year. Nothing against Allison, but I just want as many things out of the way as possible that could take away from Clark becoming Superman.
Tonight's gonna be fun. Even got my wife pumped up enough to watch with me, which is saying something.
And I know it's not, but my inner kid was hoping the mysterious package from Martha is maybe a new outfit? lol

I don't mean that they can't think of something to do with Zod, as they do with Chloe or Oliver, but thats all they are, secondary characters....
Zod as the main season villain for next year, will be useless. I can understand it this year, with the Kandorians and wanting to take over Earth, but what is he going to do? His main purpose is to come between Clark and Lois? come on.... I don't mind Zod coming back, just not sold on him as the main villain again

I don't mean that they can't think of something to do with Zod, as they do with Chloe or Oliver, but thats all they are, secondary characters....
Maybe R.A.O. can take charge of Luthorcorp, Zod as CEO. I don't like it but I'm sure they'll find something for him.
I wasn't blown away by the way Zod was written this season, however Callum Blue made the stuff he was given really great, so I'd be happy to have him back.. regardless of what they do with the character.
He's a wonderful Rosenbaum replacement.

gRANNY gOODNESS!!!@!@ That makes me happy
1)ok, that episode was really good.
2)too much time wasted on ollie and chloe
3)the climax was fantastic
but:
4)why is it that everytime SV has the opportunity to deliver a battle worthy of Superman, they decide to take the cheapest route possible. I know it was tied into the reason why Clark is not beamed away, but I mean come on. For once I'd like to see Superman do what he was built for. The fight between Zod and Clark was great, but the lack of powers was LAME. I knew I shouldn't have expected more from smallville, but I always hope that maybe all this season long build up will come to some sort of appropriate climax, given that this is a Superman show. Why do they try and avoid the Superman, when it really counts that we see it.
5)Mama Kent left him the tights... awesome (btw, as someone remarked earlier, they messed up that shot of the \S/ reflected in his eyes, it was not properly reflected)

i'm thinking maybe its because they were clones and he was the only true kryptonian. maybe jorel put in a fail safe for them but knew that clark needed to stay on earth. i love how clark didnt kill zod and clark still gets to stay on earth. instead of him being trapped like he has been in the past. this was a great finale, so happy. it'd be even better if the first three minutes was like the whole show. i'm curious if green arrow is dead. that would make tess and green arrow dead for next year. that would be clark, chloe, and lois and thats it for next year. although i have a feeling ollie is still alive, but still, zod and tess are gone, thats still a pretty small cast.

He was close enough to hit that it depowered him. Hence the reason he wasnt knocking Zod silly.
Notice it was only when Clark fell off the ledge with the knife in his gut that Zod went up into the sky. Once he was far enough away from Zod, Zod was "powered up" again....

Zod - ascended to Kandorian paradise?
Tess - dead, looks like Two Face. Getting a visit from Granny Goodness?
Lois - standing on a street, knows Clark is The Blur

Chloe - in Watchtower, doing a "ZOMG! Ollie!"

I thought they pretty much confirmed that.
I'm harping about the lack of superbattle, and it was a clever way to end the season. I just wish they hadn't used their ingenuity to avoid delivering a Superman battle, and directed it at something a little more satisfying.
That being said, this is probably the best finale Smallville has ever had. I just wish the writers would use their creativity to deliver a Superman story, while avoiding the 'Superman' parts.

My guess is that he didnt pull it out because the portal hadnt closed yet, or he was too injured to do so. So my guess is he will either somehow pull it out and fly, Hakman saves him, MM saves him, or Kara comes back and saves him. personally I'd love to see him fly, but if not its gotta be Kara.
I'm guessing it was a new suit, they did say that he'd be getting a new one at the end of the future. I loved the look into the future, best beginning of an episode in years. They had the real Jimmy in it so hopefully by the end of next season they reintroduce him. Also it'd be nice if they make Perry the chief before too long.
Gotta love that Lois knows now, should really make things interesting for next season.
That was Granny Goodness, and those were Parademons that took Ollie, and we will See Darksied. I know it. Season 10 is going to be great.

By popular demand, Greg Beeman's superspoilerish blog about "Salvation" posted earlier today before the episode aired (erased later): :woot:
Believe it or not, I was a little nervous going back. I hadn’t been keeping up with the show the last couple of years – and when I started reviewing the episodes I was very impressed how, despite significant budget cuts, the show had maintained an excellent look and feel.
Well, I went to Vancouver and was treated like a king. Everyone was so kind to me, and gave me so much credit for helping to launch the whole enterprise. I was especially proud of James Marshall. His first work on SMALLVILLE was as second unit director early on in season one. I guess he became my protégé, for lack of a better description. And now he has blossomed and really runs the show very smoothly.
Tom Welling has matured and grown so much – especially behind the scenes.
Erica Durance has also grown. I take special pride with her, because I feel instrumental in having cast her. The rest of the regulars came with the pilot, which I wasn’t involved in. But, when we were looking for a Lois, I saw this roughly put together audition on VHS and I remember calling Al and Miles and saying “Hey, guys, check out this gal from Vancouver. I think she’s really got something.” Erica and I have always been bonded. We stay in touch a little. She is sweet and gung-ho and I love her.
I don’t know what else to say – it’ll just be a laundry list of gratitude and happy memories.
I guess I should say a few words about the actual episode and the behind-the-scenes of it all.
It was for me, an interesting experience because I truly was just a visiting director. On my last three shows I was there day-to-day as director and executive producer. And, even with all my history on SMALLVILLE, I’d lost touch over the years. In the weeks leading up to doing the episode I had to quickly catch up on where the series was at – Oliver Queen, Tess, Zod were all new to me and I had to get up to speed on their characters and arcs.
Brian Peterson did something really nice – he took time out of his busy schedule to write a document that laid out where everyone had been and what they’d done since episode 100, which was effectively my last episode. (I actually worked pretty hard on episode 101 too as producer – but the 100th episode with the death of Jonathan Kent was the last one I directed.)
Frankly, I thought it would be easier. The technical aspects of the show were the same as ever - but I had to work pretty hard to get my head around some of the emotional/character ones - Especially as regards the Chloe-Clark relationship, the new Clark-Lois-Blur relationship and Tess.
Interestingly, the scenes that open the show (The ones where we see Lois in the future and where Clark gets the mysterious package from Martha) were not originally in the episode. The show opened with Lois meeting Zod.
Throughout prep, something felt wrong about this. It wasn’t really Clark’s story enough – It was too much Zod’s story. As we were going through the usual VFX meetings and production design meetings, this issue kept coming up. Finally, and it was just a day or two before we started shooting Brian called me on the phone one day and pitched this new opening. I was thrilled. It is certainly and “event” moment. I could immediately envision how to shoot it – even from just hearing it described. When ideas “shoot themselves” for me in this way it is usually a good sign. I think Brian and Kelly had imagined this scene opening season 10 – but they must have come to a place of “What the heck – we’ll just have to figure out a new great idea for next year and make use of the great idea we have now for now!”
In the original draft this was set on the Rao Tower, which was mostly destroyed from when Clark heat-visioned it in an earlier episode. James Philpot had some excellent designs for this set – but it was quite large and expensive and it would have meant renting a whole new stage space at great expense. Two or three days of prep were spent exploring this, until we finally came around to the idea of making the scene happen on the gargoyle rooftop, which The Blur uses as his perch. But even this was a lot of work. The gargoyle rooftop was just a very small set that had been used for limited shots. So a new set had to be created that expanded upon the smaller one. It was built on one of SMALLVILLE’S many stages and surrounded by hundreds of feet of green screen. It was a huge engineering achievement that was thrown together in just a couple of weeks. Standing on that set, which was fifty by a hundred feet, surrounded by 30 foot high and two hundred feet of green screen, was pretty impressive. What the SMALLVILLE team accomplishes on a weekly basis is really quite amazing.
I had a lot of fun with Cassidy Freeman by the way. We had met once before. It was at the premiere party for MELROSE PLACE. She was there with Kelly Souders (I think) and someone introduced me “This is Greg Beeman.” She, basically, screamed and jumped into my arms with a big hug. It was a bit of a surprise, since I’d never met her, but I went with it! So we hugged and she was screaming and I twirled her around a few times (Film business people are passionate people!) I’m not quite sure why she was so excited to meet me, but hey! For some reason my legend has grown large since I departed Vancouver. I think perhaps larger than is realistic, but, anyway – they remember me fondly there and I guess Cassidy had heard the many stories of “Beeman” and – well, there you go. Anyway she is a hoot. She is a hard worker and up for anything. When it came time to kick Zods ass with kryptonite brass knuckles, or spend hours getting gooey burn makeup applied – or die in a hospital bed – she wanted to do it all!
Erica also loved playing the future incarnation of Lois. We talked a lot about how and where Lois would be, several years in the future after she had fully become the classic character. I wanted to invoke the energy that Richard Donner had put into the original movie. That film was done before the invention of the stedicam, and in several places he did long dolly/tracking shots with lots of energy and pace of dialogue in the Daily Planet scenes. I tried to do the same thing. I used dolly only not stedicam and moved with Lois as she traveled the newspaper offices. I kept pacing her up and making her snappier. At the top of the stairs I had one of the day players add-lib “Look Up In The Sky” to invoke the classic line (Truthfully, I haven’t seen the final cut – visiting directors don’t get that privilege – I assume Brian and Kelly kept that line in, but I also did a version without that line and I realize, as I write, that I’m not 100 percent sure what’s in tonight’s episode. I guess I’ll find out along with you when I watch it.)
Then there was the big Clark-Lois kiss scene. This was huge. But the scene itself was fraught with peril. On the first night we went to film this scene - and this is obviously a big deal scene - Lois kisses "The Blur" and realizes that Blurry = Clark. Well that night there was a howling wind and a pouring rain and it was soooo cold. And I was in deep dismay and so, I think, was Kelly Souders, who was there. And I was thinking "Crap we're not getting this scene due to the fact that Erica is laying in freezing cold blizzard water (among other things) But, thankfully, the wind howeld so strongly that it started to destroy the set and we had to stop for safety reasons... God must be a SMALLVILLE fan because he shut us down that night and we had to return to the scene when we were better prepared! A week later we came back and re-filmed it and (I think) it is all good!
And FINALLY – I want to tip my hat to Tom Welling who has grown and matured so much since I last worked with him. During the whole of the production of this episode he was also producing the pilot to his new series HELLCATS. And he really was producing it too! As of this moment the show looks very likely to be on CW’s slate next year. That’s an amazing feat. Tom is a true go-getter and I’m quite proud of him.
Ah – so that’s it. Too bad I didn’t know about blogs back in my SMALLVILLE days - it would have been fun to do this every week. But, I WILL keep you all posted as to my new show and maybe the Beeman Blog can grow big and strong again!!!
But, today I concentrate on saying “thanks” And it was nice to be able to go home again, and now I look forward to the future and yet another new show.
Hopefully some of you will join me there.
All the best,
Beeman
Great finale, one of the best of the series. Granny Goodness and Darkseid are coming to town, we'll see how they pull it off, but I won't be surprised if they disguise themselves as humans to go incognito, plus is cheaper budget wise.

yeah I was a bit puzzled why Lois was wearing glasses. Looks like in 3 years her eyesight will get bad. I didn't think of Sarah Palin, but now that you mentioned it...
Now it would could be kinda interesting if they twisted it up like that, making it so that she has bad eyesight and can't recognize Clark as Superman (though that isn't a great explanation either way).

So let's summarize where everyone is left at season's end:
Clark - impaled with a blue K knife, plummeting off a building
Zod - ascended to Kandorian paradise?
Tess - dead, looks like Two Face. Getting a visit from Granny Goodness?
Lois - standing on a street, knows Clark is The Blur
Ollie - getting his ass kicked in a ventilation shaft, possibly by Parademons
Chloe - in Watchtower, doing a "ZOMG! Ollie!"
Did I miss anything?
I actually thought this was really cheesy, their whole "I love you" exchange. :whatever:

Actually she has worn glasses before in the comics for reading and other things. It could just be that like you said that her eyesight got worse but she only uses them to read and just hasn't taken them off. Heck my sister didnt use to need reading glasses but now she does and she sometimes leaves them on longer than she needs them. So I doubt that her eyesight has gotten that bad.

Interesting read by Beeman. I didn't realize the season ended where it started (sort of) with Clark on top of that building. It was like a full circle, we are first introduced to the new look Blur on that rooftop and then we see his (possible) demise.
Also, he said they were planning on using that sequence to open season 10. I wonder in what context it would have been used for.

Sorry in advance my review is kinda long!!
Well tonight marks the end of the 9th seasons of smallville. Tonight’s episode is entitled “Salvation” written by Al Septien & Turi Meyer and directed by Greg Beeman. Who was a former producer/director on the show. He left the series to go work on Heroes and some other programs. So I was glad to hear he returned to the show for tonight’s episode. Since tonight a big episode for the show.
Man I really loved the start of the episode. First the recap of the season’s events was pretty cool. Also nice touch it was Allison who did it. Then it being a future scene in 2013 was wicked look. Perry, Lois, lex mention and a superman moment. Then Clark receiving that gift which looks to be the red and blue costume was wicked.
The following scene with Lois meeting what she thinks was the blur was nice. It was a good scene with Lois and zod. I liked how he tried to play he is the blur and Clark is a bad guy. But it looks like Lois didn’t really believe zod too much.
Then the scene with Ollie and Chloe about working together and getting the jl ready was nice. Then the Clark and Chloe scene about destiny and what is going to happen to the kandorians was also played well. I also enjoyed the Tess/zod fortress scene. She had some wicked kryptonite knuckles there. Too bad she got burned by zod.
The Clark and zod scene was wicked too. Too bad the FOS console was destroyed. Hopefully it will come back. Also nice to see crystals playing into things. It’s nice to see Tess wants to forgive everything she has done. That was really nice scene. The scene with the army of zod burning famous land marks was pretty epic looking.
I loved the jsa/jl scene. They played it very well. Some great humor from all the members. Also tom was very leader like. This was a great superman moment. It was a very touching scene too. Then the Ollie/Clark scene on telling Lois was nice too. Then the zod/black kryptonian guy scene about the book of rao was cool.
I loved the Lois and Clark scene in the barn. He really loves Lois which I really like. Then she wants to know the truth and all that. Also it was interesting she found swan’s journal.
This had to be really tough for Clark. The following scene of Tess dying was shocking. It was so sad to see her die in that scene.
The scene with Ollie and Chloe trying to set up the new satellite was cool. I loved the way they were playing off each other. Also so bad that someone found them. It was nice they said they loved each other. Also interesting that it wasn’t the kandorians…
The scene with Clark trying to use the book was interesting to see Lois took it. Darn Lois getting all tangled into things. But it was nice she figured out zod isn’t the blur. I am glad that happened. Zod beating up Lois wasn’t nice. But Clark to the save was cool. I loved the super punch he did to him and the save to Lois.
The scene was very touching in the dark with the kiss with Lois and the blur. I think they handled it pretty well. And it was interesting through the kiss she figures it is Clark. Let’s see where this plays out lol. Clark is pretty screwed with all the powered kandorians around now to stop him. Darn zod really playing off the kandorians. Ah zod is screwed when the army heard what he said to Clark bad move there zod.
The book of rao activating scene was also very cool looking. I loved how the kandorians were teleported away. To just leave Clark and zod alone.
Now the final fight scene. I think it was well played with the blue kryptonite. The fight was much better than the doomsday one. Also they played the slo mo very well. But it was very sad to see Clark get stabbed and fall. Then zod getting teleported away to the new world. The closing moment of Clark dying and falling was pretty cool. Man waiting all summer is going to suck to see where things go.
So now to other things about the episode. Writing tonight was top notch turi and al I think wrote a great script. I really enjoyed it a lot. I thought they had some good character moment with all involved. Also Clark was very leader like which I liked a lot. Directing with the return of Greg beeman I was very happy there. I think he directed a well episode. His camera angles, and set ups were good. Also he used slo mo very well. So it was very great to see him working on the show again. I definitely would love to see him return again next season.
As for acting tonight it was great all around. First I got to start with tom. He was really mature and leader like throughout the whole episode. Which I loved about the episode and Clark. I really hope this is how he will play Clark next season.
Erica as Lois was top notch again. She has been doing great all year. So it’s nice she went out very well tonight. She had some great scenes with Clark and zod. She played off each very well.
Justin as Ollie he was his usual self. Caring, cracking humor and all that. His scenes with Clark were well. Also the lovey dovey scenes with Chloe worked out well. I can’t wait to see how long he will be in next season.
Allison I enjoyed in tonight’s episode. She played Chloe very well. She had great scenes with Ollie, Clark and the jsa/jl members. I did like her throughout the episode.
Callum as zod was top form tonight. He has been a delight all season long.
So let’s see if zod/kandorians will be around next season at all on where ever they were sent too. He had great scenes with his army, Lois, and Clark. He was good in all the scenes. He played the tough guy well.
Cassidy as Tess wasn’t in the episode much. But I think she did great tonight. She had some great scenes with zod and Clark. It was nice to see her redeem herself and be good. So it was very sad to see her “Die” towards the end of the episode.
So all in all a great episode. I enjoyed every minute of it. I did wish the jl/jsa did more. But it was sweet to see them all again. Hoping for more stuff with them next season. Also the cliff hangers were interesting tonight. Where did the kandorians get zapped too? Who attacked Ollie at the satellite base, who was the person visiting Tess.
Then of course Clark “Dying” man it’s going to be a long summer waiting to see how it goes. Also I enjoyed the zod/Clark fight. Much better than the lack of fight with doomsday last season. So that was good. So again I really enjoyed this season. One of the show’s best. Here’s hoping they will do just as well next season.

So wouldn't Clark just have to pull the dagger out, and toss it? Once he tosses it, he would regain his powers.
I guess this depends on whether or not any shards of the dagger or even splinters were there when he pulled out.
Plus, i'm assuming a little much here, but you'd think after being entirely depowered with blue K he'd need sunlight to recharge his "batteries". Since it's nighttime, he might not get the juice he needs to not splat by the time he hits the ground.
My guess is on Hawkman or Manhunter catching him.
So was the gift from his mother right at the beginning, the \S/ that would go on the suit? I just caught a quick glimpse of it, because, wouldn't you know it, the doorbell rang just as that part was shown. Plus I missed the "Look up in the sky" part as well.
at the very least, it was a blue shirt with the s crest. Because there was blue around the shield in the reflection. If he's got a slight upgrade to his costume next year, i'm hoping they go with the blue T, with blue jeans and a red jacket....

I really, really, really......really doubt it. I don't think Nolan would want the Superman movie he's producing to be a continuation of Smallville, even if it was just a couple of actors from the show. Nolan has even mentioned that Superman will be the only hero in that universe, just like Batman is in his and Smallville even has the Justice League.
As for the costume...If it's THE costume Martha gave him, then he definitely won't be wearing it anytime soon. He'll probably keep it somewhere and remember it in the series finale, when he'll finally become Superman and reveal himself to the world.
If it's just a blue t-shirt with the classic red/yellow S (or even another prototype costume, but not exactly the classic Superman costumes), I can definitely see him wearing it at some point during the s10 premiere. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd be fine with the red jacket and blue t-shirt if (the t-shirt) has the S on it.

holy ****! That was the best season finale to DATE! Loved every minute of it, and I'm glad to see that there was a glimpse of Superman in the near future, but why did they pick 2013? Are they suggesting Smallville finishes then?
On another note, cannot wait for what season 10 has to offer us! Would not be surprised that Clark will fly and I definately cannot wait to find out who the big bad guy is, and another more important question how will Lex Luthor return to the Smallville-verse?
And a final word, it's time for the Silver Age of heroes to begin!

smooth it would be interesting if they used smallville as starting off point for the superman reboot film. But its better for the new film be a clean fresh start. Cause then if you went with smallville u got folks who dont like it or watch it and wouldnt know whats what. Same like if they decided to continue singer's superman with routh and the folks who didnt like that film. Its best to be clean slate. Plus if the show is over after season ten it would be done with production around april 2011. so we know legally wb has to have a new film in production at any point in 2011 so smallville wouldnt be conflicting with anything going on with new film since it would be wrapped up by the time new show is likely even starting up production.

A) They won't.
B) He'll just say that his mom made it for him, so he has to wear them.
C) He'll say he's just wearing them because he saw them when he saw his destiny.
D) All the cool Kryptonian kids were doing that on Krypton.

I think we'll see Superman in the finale again, but it will be computer-rendered like the shot tonight was.
I'm skeptical we'll see Welling wearing the blue tights.
Probably...:csad:. It would be awesome to see Welling in the costume though. Maybe just from the waist up, or at least some shot where you can tell it's Welling, even if he isn't actually wearing the costume. Maybe a similar shot from tonight's episode, with the camera zooming in really quickly so we can only see him from the waist up. He smiles. The end.

:wow:....Give me a minute............................................ ..............
That episode was like a HUGE GEEKGASM, I haven't felt this good after an episode of Smallville since Absolute Justice. There was SOOOO much going on in this episode, but I'm glad it didn't feel rushed. Sure the pace was quick, but the story didn't suffer as much as "Doomsday". God, that felt like a clusterf@#$!:whatever: I don't know where to begin, but I will try to collect my thoughts and make them as clear as possible:
The EPIC:
The opening teaser-Fun! Iconic! Legendary! One of the most powerful sequences of Smallville in years! Loved it!
Clark-I am just in awe! Clark was.....SUPERMAN! Suit or not! What incredible writing for the character, so strong and confident!
Lois finding out the truth-OH MY GOD!:wow:
The special effects-Some pretty awesome special effects! Didn't know Smallville could still pull off a global apocalypse-type stuff anymore! I loved The Kandorians' worldwide attack sequence and the Kandorians flying to the top of the perch, surrounding Clark and Zod.
Tess' mini-redemption-Finally! Tess makes a smart decision and sides with Clark! Not to mention, she got to kick Zod's a$$ before he burned her. Man, was that brutal!
Clark's super-upper cut to Zod-AWESOME!
"They're not Kandorians!"-WHAT!:wow:
Old woman at Met. Gen?-Granny Goodness?:wow:
Clark falling to his death-Ehw! But still a good cliffhanger!
Clark being right and his plan working in the end-FINALLY!
The Meh-
Clark/Zod's fight-Again, Short but LIGHT YEARS, better than that sh!%%y Doomsday fight last year!
Chloe not supporting Clark's decision again-Seriously, after an awesome speech from Clark, that was such a buzz kill! REALLY CHLOE!?
Chloe and Oliver's "love" declarations-.......:dry:REALLY?
Overall, this was a lot to take in...but in a good way. Such a drastic contrast from Doomsday last year. I was so disappointed by last year's finale and S9 had be feeling empty going into it. Now, S10 looks like the year of Superman. That opening teaser felt like it was setting up what Season 10 will be about: the dawn of Superman and it looks like a strong possiblity Darkseid will the BIG BADDIE next year. Don't know how I fell about that. Feels way too ambious and epic for Smallville. Doomsday worked well in the beginning but the writers proved they couldn't handle him in the end. Darkseid is too powerful and the New Gods is HUGE storyline. But this is just speculation now and I'm very excited to see where Season 10 (the last obviously) will take us. Until then, a superb ender to a an overall strong season and these next 3 1/2 months are gonna be long.:csad:

His head will be CGI'd on a Superman model and he'll zip by the camera

I could believe that.

I think Chloe supported Clark's decision but it was just hard to see him get zapped onto another planet forever. I wouldn't be too hard on her for that. It's understandable to get emotional.

I'm sharing the sentiment that Granny Goodness is bringing back Tess as one her Female Furies.

True, although she was practically forcing him to leave with her whole "maybe you have to lead your people" stuff. Using the Book of Rao was more her idea than his.

Why didn't Clark ascend with the other Kandorians?
He wasn't affected by the Blue K at the time.
He supersped right into Zod:

Man, that "Too Be Continued" is agonizing. First cliffhanger in a long time that actually made me feel pain, knowing that it's gonna be such a long wait until September.
yeah but think how awesome it will be to see a trailer for the next season. they usually do that in the summer sometime don't they? :hehe:

Yeah.
It's unfortunately definite Tess will be back and alive next season. Makes sense since there's no Rosenbaum, someones got to be the Luthorcorp person.
It was actually Callum Blue who was leaving the series all along.
The 'death' was a fake-out.

I wonder how Luthor will become a presidential candidate in 3 years.
Because he's Lex Luthor, greatest criminal mastermind of our time! :awesome:

Nolan doesn't even CARE about this show and for good reason too.. people can drop the "Oh but this has Nolan written all over it" There's also a good reason this show does 2 million viewers an episode

They usually play one at Comic Con, so it's not too bad. Just watched the last scene over and over again. Still really chilling. The last 10 seconds really gets to me - spine tingling conclusion. Best cliffhanger for me since we had the awesome Bizarro reveal in "Phantom." But there's just something about that Clark/Christ shot that's still sticking with me. Can't get it out of my head. It's gonna be a LOOOONG wait.
