Does anyone want to share their ideas for a trailer?

it needs to be something fun like the IronMan trailers. humor with action. a few clips showing the villain in action but not too many villain clips because we want to keep some mystery. show Spidey swinging around the city and maybe Pete saying a few funny sarcastic lines like he always does in the comics.

If they come up with some good Spidey quips, *do not show them in any trailer*!!!!, they will get old before we even see the movie, and out of context could lose their effect and even sound annoying.

naw man. They can have some lines that work out of context. as long as they don't overuse them they won't get annoying either. Superhero movie trailers about marvel heroes always did well with humor involved.

The spidey trailers are an iffy subject. They have always been spectacular. I can still remember when the official trailer for the first movie was released. I think the whole internet crashed.
I do think that, at this point, the trailer would have to introduce and perhaps establish something that seperates itself from the Raimi movies without being so heavy handed about it.
The quips, one-liner, smart ass schtick needs to be employed to an extent to9 show that we're going to have a serious spidey movie but this time, spidey has employed wit to his aresnal.

lol, I had typed that up without registering that you had just said 'put some quips in the trailer', so it wasn't really a response to that, it was just the first thing I thought of.
But, I stand by it, I would like the gags kept for the movie, too many times have i had a good gag spolied by having it used in tv ads/trailers over and over before we even see the movie.
Folk will be attracted by the action in the trailer, save the quips for a nice surpirise.

I think they should do something similar to the first teaser; enough to let us see that it's SPider-Man & do the best they can to make the GA aware that it's not a sequel.

BTW Pacmaster; the Raimi trilogy actually died this year, when Sony decided not to continue it.

It's hard to think of a trailer (not a teaser) without knowing who the villain will be IMO.
I hope they do not give away too much with the trailer.

There is no doubt, that Sony needs to distinguish the new, from the old Raimi’s films. Whelther the decide to make it big or small, the trailers definitely need to establish the tone and environment aside from Raimi’s… in order for the general audience to accept going into a new direction.

I think they should use Fort Minor's "Remember The Name" song in the trailer (yeah I know they used it for Karate Kid)

No it died in 2007 when the last of the trilogy came into theaters. if they'd continued it after that it wouldnt be a trilogy anymore.

how about like a chase with two thieves running away from the police on foot and the car robbers lose the cops and all of a sudden the robbers get webbed up and it fades to black and then it shows the cops finding the robbers on a web and the camera zooms in onto a note left on the web and it reads "Courtesy of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman" and then it zooms in more on "Spiderman" then it cuts to black and new Spiderman Logo appears with a 2012 and then black

If the movie is indeed "grim and gritty" as Sony intend (WHY?), then those aspects must be shown firstly to establish its new approach from its light and campy(not dissing, still love'em) predecessors.

Like the Wolverine trailers, but not quite. Show some key characters, such as Mary-Jane, Aunt May (hopefully Ultimate), and J.J., talking about Spider-Man and his impact on their lives as if being interviewed for a documentary. Splice in a few action clips, but not too many. Maybe even have Peter being interviewed, and he could talk about Spider-Man as a first hand experience, getting carried away, then getting shy and awkward toward the end to keep up appearances.

It is anything like the first trailer we ever saw like Spidey webbing the helicopter between the towers which is still epic, that would be great

Why should they use a rap song in a Spiderman trailer? that's lame

I don't think using rap in a trailer would be too bad as long as its a fitting song. I just think that song in particular is too overused (for everything) and old.

I loved the trailer for spider-man where spidey catches the helicopter in the web and the camera tracks back and its catch between the two towers and it (helicopter) looks like a big fly. great teaser.
I like them to do a teaser that shows peter suiting up
1. spidey pulls up shoes/socks
pan up to
2. web belt
peter clicks in web cartridges, tests spider signal on the wall
pan up to
3. peter pulls down spider top - focus on spider symbol
cut to
4. peter inserts web cartridge into web shooter - THWIP!! webs spider mask off bed
cut to
5. spidey pulls down mask
peter - 'get ready for, the amazing spider-man!!'

hmm... if they use lizard and kraven, here's my idea:
peter walking into the house, lots of cops in there.
pan up to
cop saying to peter:
COP: OFFICER 01: PETER, I AM SO VERY SORRY, BUT YOUR UNCLE WAS SHOT IN THE HEART BY A BURGLAR.
PETER (with tears in eyes): HOW?!?! WHY?!?!
pan up to
peter suiting up
pan up to
dr. connors looking at a lizard, then looking at a gvaccine filled with a green, shiny liquid, then injecting the liquid to his left, hand-less arm-socket
pan up to
JJJ standing in front of a camera
JJJ: I THINK HE'S A MENACE, A FOOL RUNNING AROUND TOWN IN A MASK, PRETENDING TO BE A HERO FOR HIS FAME! WHAT A GODDAMN IDIOT.
pan up to
kingpin talking with kraven.
KINGPIN: I NEED YOU TO TAKE HIM DOWN, THE FASTEST WAY YOU CAN, THE MOST PAINFUL WAY YOU CAN.
KRAVEN: SEE THIS AS A DONE DEAL.
pan up to
dr. connors mutating into the lizard and breaking lab tools
pan up to
spider-man fighting kraven
pan up to
spider-man facing lizard, with 5 lizard-men standing beside lizard, lashing at him.
pan up to
peter and gwen kissing
pan up to
spider-man swinging across the camera

my idea of the trailer would be:
Peter neorating in a grave yard: "In my life I have gone through a lot of things. Parents died in a plane crash, I went to live with my aunt and uncle. Never was popular at school and can't get a break from being bullied."
(Clips from the movie at the same time as Peter neorates)
"But all that is nothing compared to this. I had a choice. I was selfish and I felt the concequences." (clips getting more "actiony" near the end of the trailer)
"There's still a good side in this. I learned a lesson, I'll never look the other way again. I'll stop ignoring all the bad things happening in this world and start facing them like a man. Because you know, once I heard these very wise and inspiring words which I will never forget and I will obey them as long as I'll live."

How about a series of quick 20sec clips. The first being the scene pans around citizens standing in a business district looking in awe and frighten amazement at something as the camera pans to Spiderman. Suddenly, just before Spidey can finish thinking out loud, “Oh Shiii” he has to leap out of the way… cut to a blank screen that says “Spiderman, Summer 2012”. :)

Here's my idea:
Columbia Pictures & Marvel Studios
Peter Parker looks in awe at something. Peter and Gwen Stacy stare at each other and smile.
Cut: Dr. Curt Connors kneels down in pain on the floor. Flash to Eddie Brock hiding behind a corner, then to J. Jonah Jameson in a fit, then to Peter looking over his shoulder, then to Gwen running hysterically from Connors. Screen goes black. The music stops. A silence...a growl and hiss permeate.
Cut: Lizard breaks through a manhole right onto the streets of New York City and roars. People are running and screaming.
AUNT MAY: There's always a way to save the ones you love.
Two workers are down in the sewers trying to fix something, then they hear a noise behind them. When they look back, they see two eyes glowing in the dark.
Shot of Spider-Man swinging
"A Hero"
Spider-Man swings around a pole and kicks Lizard across his jaw with both feet.
"Is Revealed"
Shot of spider biting the hand of Peter
Screen goes black.
Cut: Spider-Man sits on top of a gargoyle.
"AMAZING SPIDER-MAN"

As a teaser, that'd be shown ONLY on the internet. I'd want to see a shot for shot re-make of the '60s Spider-Man cartoon intro. Except, they'd make some of the shots more realisitic, like when he webs up the car? It'd be a car of gangsters & he webs the tires. That'd be f***in' awesome.

Columbia Pictures logo, Marvel logo. Cut to interior, classroom.
'Ms. Parker, I'd just like to start things off by saying what a gifted student Peter is...'
Cut to Garfield standing in front of a blackboard in his basement, furiously scribbling formulas. He suddenly stops, backs up, and smiles.
'He has always been a very bright boy. His grades are...exemplary.'
Cut back to Garfield, tinkering with a few test tubes full of whatever.
'If he put his mind in the right place, he'd have his pick of colleges. But he seems distracted...'
Cut to Garfield, compressing grey fluid into small cartridges. He finishes, and grins ear to ear. Cut back to classroom. May glances over at a wide eyed Garfield sitting two chair lengths away.
She says, 'Peter? Is something going on that I should know about?'
Cut to a short clip of the Lizard chasing Garfield and Stone down a somewhat small grey corridor.
Garfield jumps at her voice. Says, 'No. No, I think I'm good.' He slowly inches toward the door to the classroom as he turns to the teacher and says, 'We're good, right? Great!' He bolts from the room, fishing a mask from his backpack and running toward the nearest door.
