They shot a sequence where the army guys, some locals, Shia and Rosie are being chased down the street by a decepticon. Which one, I don't know. They also shot some scenes where the army guys fire upon one of the bots. Finally, they blew up some cars and stuff, presumably from a decepticon. It was really cool.

I have a video of them being chased, so I'll post it as soon as I figure out how.

Might be having a new Con 4X4.... someone nabbed a shot fo a Black Ford (I think) on a transporter. just above the front wheels was a Con logo.... and interestingly enough, what looked to be slim line cop lights on the roof....

Also on the Transporter were 2 identical small (IMHO) Russian looking Yellow vehicles...no clue as of yet if it's a Con or an Autobot....

I hate recasts as well but Maggie G in TDK wasn't really a big deal. Had the first 5 minutes they said that oh Rachel moved away or got killed and here is Vicki Vale then it would have been terrible.

That would have been terrible if it happened in this movie. Mikaela moved away, here is a new hot girl!!!

I think what happened with Megan is unfortunate and I am fine with recasts as long as it is a step up but this really isn't. But, it is a lot better than just throwing away the character from the past two films to conveniently introduce a new one to be a love interest.

Rosie is definitely NOT playing Mikaela. This was confirmed by people on set.

Also, the only thing anyone knew, that I talked to, about the Nascar-cons are that they're Autobots, and they have 5 machine guns on them that are used in this scene on Washington and Welles, that they've been filming for days.

There was a script thrown around a while back that had the Bots, along with Sam and Mikaela being dumped back in the 80s.... that was proven to be fake..... But if the Datsun is the same one that Bee was to use.... maybe it was a real script, just not the one they went with...and a few details (Like a car or something) have bled through...

Also, from CHUD Via Blastr.com. potential opening scene leaked....

It shows Secret Service running thorugh the White house and into the Oval Office, where they tell the President (Who's back is to the camera) 'Sir, somethings happened on the Moon!' The President turns, and you see his face.....

I'm starting to think that they are Junkions,if not Stunticons(which isn't very likely imo). They look a bit too different to be just Autobots or Decepticons. It was another exciting day of movie magic in Chicago Saturday as shooting on Transformers 3 continued. This weekend, the Magnificent Mile has been center stage for all the action.

Hundreds of fans have enjoyed a front-row seat to all the filming, but some Chicagoans aren't too happy about all the traffic headaches and street closures associated with the shoot.

The film's stars and director are well aware of that, and offered a special message via CBS 2 (http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/Chicago.Transformers.2.1810712.html) : Bay said Chicago figures prominently at the end of the movie.

"Please allow me to formally apologize to the whole city for all of the traffic and for all of those extra blocks that you have to turn, just to get to where you're going," co-star Tyrese Gibson said. "But you know, we're bringing some energy to city, and we thank y'all for graciously allowing us to be here."

"This has been awesome," Duhamel said. "I hadn't spent any time here, more than maybe a day or two, and obviously this is the best time of year to be here, and it's just beautiful."

Gibson, director Michael Bay and co-star Josh Duhamel stopped for a few minutes Saturday to pose with one of the Transformers characters – Bumblebee, in its pre-robot, automobile form – before an appreciative crowd. They praised the city of Chicago for its cooperation in creating a mock disaster scene on Chicago's world-famous retail row.

"It's just a beautiful place. I've been all over the world, and this is truly a great place to shoot," Bay said.

Michigan Avenue is "the most iconic view of the city, in both directions," Bay added. "It's not like an alley. It's beautiful architecture, 360 degrees."

"This has been awesome," Duhamel said. "I hadn't spent any time here, more than maybe a day or two, and obviously this is the best time of year to be here, and it's just beautiful."

Bay said Chicago figures prominently at the end of the movie.

"That will get around the world, so it will be good for tourism," he said.

Daley, who toured the Mag Mile disaster set, was impressed with what he saw.

"It's unbelievable, especially when everything goes flying," the mayor said.

The traffic tie-ups will continue through Sunday. Michigan Avenue is closed from Wacker to Ontario. So if you're in the area, take Clark south across the river and Dearborn north. Michigan will re-open by 5 a.m. Monday.

The film production is expected to pump more than $20 million into the local economy and generate 200 jobs.

CBS 2's Suzanne LeMignot and Mai Martinez contributed to this report.Says Chicago is at the end of the movie. And since the Twins were on set there, looks like they may survive. That would ALSO mean, that Prime has his trailer at the end of the movie!

Transformers 3 is probaably going to be better than RotF but they should have used unicron in this film.

They still might. He couldn't have a visual representation, like we've seen before, with Soundwave, Shockwave, BB and Einstein-thing, because he'd be in space. If he's there, he wouldn't be able to come to earth, seeing as he basically is twice it's size.

Still, bay seems to have learned from his mistakes with TF2. He is geniunely trying to put G1 into it. I forsee that this film will be much better than the second. Arialbots, Prime's trailer, a Shockwave who's head looks exactly like the original version...it's great.

The best thing about Shockwave is that his body can be completely different, as long as his head is right, because it's his most recognizable feature.

Also, they did a great job with the purple. It is very, very hard to make purple look good on-screen. Using that dark purple will make it look very visually intimidating, and portray the kind of mood for Shockwave. I also like how they made the dot red, instead of the green-yellow used in G1. It's a lot more intimidating.

Hello all! :word: Like typeorocks, I haven't been on these forums posting pics and stories since the glorious summer of "The Dark Knight" filming here in Chicago. And unfortunately, I was out of town for most of the crazy Transformers 3 stuff the last few weeks.

But I'm here now and I guess I'll post what I got in this thread since this is where most of the chatter is.

Here are some shots I got last night and today...

Last night there were 2 helicopters flying around at one point. All of the attention was on the Jewelers Building (far right; behind Wrigley Building) where cast, crew, lights and cameras were filming:

As I said before, there appeared to be repeated shots of figures heading from right to left with a white shirted guy (Bay) appearing once and awhile between takes. I've noticed other set pics showing Shia and Dempsey wearing black while Rosie is in a white dress. My guess as to who's who is labelled below:

Went around corner where film trucks and equipment are based. Here's a close up of one of the trucks with a certain logo taped on the door:

As I was walking around the area I noticed up at the Jewelers Building that there was some activity on one of the corner towers/spires. It appeared to be flickering lights flashing inside one of the domed towers Maybe a second unit was filming what will eventually be blaster fire or explosion which causes this section of the building to crumble to the ground? Who knows. I tried to get a shot but never got the flashing. Here's the pic anyway:

Later, traffic (boats, too) were stopped and everyone was forced away from the sidewalks and nearby bridges along the river so that the helicopter could fly in for some closeup shots of the Trump Tower. It got pretty close to that landing up there and even did some 360 shots (maybe to simulate the helicopter out of control after getting hit?):

They pulled the bluescreen foot out later for more shooting. It looked like there may have been a second bluescreened "foot" or something further in to the rubble:

In this pic, I noticed...see the guy with the hat? Look at the chair that's right behind him.

It has Revenge of the Fallen on it. Why would they have an old ROTF chair amongst a bunch of new TF3 chairs?

Ok, I went back out and discovered from some P.A. that there was going to be a helicopter filming some building top explosions at 8:00-ish. There was a camera crane perched on the first landing of the Trump Tower, too. He also said there'd be a car chase happening on the other side of the river on Wacker but that gawkers weren't allowed near that area. I decided to try videotaping it with my Flip camera.

I was standing on the north side of the Michigan Ave. bridge, across from the Wrigley Bldg when the Pursuit Car (camera car) pulled up right in front of me. Just then an explosion down river occurred (both on buildings and on boats in the river) followed by other building tops lighting up (like the Equitable Bldg & Wrigley Bldg). I tried to film what I could but it was happening randomly around and above me so please excuse my back-n-forth whipping action.

As the booms ended I saw that the pursuit car had taken off towards where police and civilian cars were flying by on the south side of the river (didn't see any Autobots but who knows if they had flown by in the beginning of the explosion). It was then that I noticed the flashing atop the Jewelers Bldgs 4-domed towers. This explains the flashing I'd seen earlier in the day; testing them, I guess. The video ends with a glimpse of the helicopter overhead, the Pursuit Car driving back while the flashing continues on the Jeweler Bldg.

The lady with her kid near me wouldn't shut up so try to ignore her.

I think they're doing, or did, some shooting at the Van Buren Metra station. One my way to work, when the train pulled into the station, there were a bunch of damaged cars right across from the tracks with a big crane there.

Looks like they're shooting particularly everywhere in the Loop.

I don't think so....he did a kind of pseudo action film called "Run" some time ago but I don't think he's done anything BIG budget like this

I like Dempsey, I was surprised to see him in Scream 3 years ago and ive always wanted him to do well
