I dont mind killing Starscream off if its relevant to the story. I dont want it to be like Jazz in the first film where its like "What just happened?"

On Saturday and Sunday I could hear Helicopters doing their flyovers. So today (Sunday) at 2pm, I went walking around (it was beautiful here in Chicago) and ended up seeing them film some Red Chevy Truck on the Wells St. Bridge. No actors or Michael Bay (that I could see), just the drivers and crew using the camera/chase car and a camera on the ground. They were filming the truck driving slowly up to the corner and stopping (for the 5 minutes I stuck around). Didn't see any Autobot or Decepticon logos so it might just be a regular truck:

Then I wandered behind the alley at Hotel 71 and saw piles of debris and rubble; basically the stuff we'd seen before (concrete, brick walls, rocks, etc). But what I noticed was this odd thingy (2nd shot is a closer look):

I'm not sure what it is or what it's used for but it looks sort of alien and designed and has rigs & cables attached. Maybe it's suppose to be a piece of a robot or something? Who knows.

Everyone was probably on lunch break because nobody was around on the "No Parking" streets or anything (except for the Red Truck stuff mentioned in above post, who were gone by 4pm). I just decided to walk home but of course, later I could hear the choppers flying around again. I was too lazy to go back out to see what was up so if there was any action today, I pretty much missed it.

Yeah i like that they are introducing carly its a great addition from the g1 series but they shouldve added her from the beginning or second film and not have had the Mikaela character added at all. And the casting of carly wasnt all that great but maybe she'll deliver who knows until we see it.

Im also interested to see how they introduce shockwave, and i really would love to see starscream be more secretive and do things his own way like in past interpretations. This film has promise and considering its the last bay transformers film, well for now, im sure itll be a good summer movie

A completely blue truck was spotted (And filmed) taking part in a highway scene.... the shade of blue is the same as the one they use for CGI....but the truck type doesn't match either Prime or the Spike truck....

Man this sucks, wonder if they will cut this action sequence from the movie altogether whether the stunt woman makes it or not? This is not the first stunt person to be injured/or killed on the job & probably won't be the last but no matter how safe a movie set is, sometimes terrible accidents happen whether they can be avoided or not. Let's not forget the incident that happened on the Twilight Zone: The Movie set but that incident involved 3 of the films actors instead of stuntmen but either way it was still very tragic.

if a film looks like there was alot of work put into it, such as cg artists, 4 plus months of shooting, people risking their lives for pay as well as um our entertainment than it shouldn't matter if the script was written by jonathan nolan or not...the word is ugly and misused.

I think Bay really enjoys these films so I wouldn't use money grab to term TF3 and I always see smiling faces on the set so the actors are enjoying it too.

But lets be honest, all movies are out to make a profit. Some movies just get more money to do so that others. Some have more thought put into them than others. Some take longer to make than others. Those things can affect quality. When I look at TF2, they rushed the script due to the writer's strike to meet a release date in order for the studio to have a good profit that year. When I look at X3, they had production troubles and still forced the film to have a release date in order to have a positive yearly profit margin. That is getting greedy. The people working on the movie may have worked their butts off but that isn't an excuse for poor quality. It isn't their fault but it shouldn't be a pass to not criticize a movie.

can't say too much because I signed a NDA on set but I was a extra with my car during filming on Tuesday the day before the accident. I was a part of the exact same stunt that was re-shot on Wednesday due to timing issues causing the shot to fail the day before. They spent hours preparing for it and I had a front row seat and can tell you while it seemed very dangerous, Bay himself was checking with certain drivers including myself to see if we felt comfortable being close to the action. They seemed to take great care to make sure we all were are safe as possible before filming began. It is a terrible accident and I pray for her and her family but I do not think this was in any way negligence on the crews part.

The guy has a LOT at stake with every stunt he films. Why wouldn't he check with everyone involved with the stunt to make sure they were ready? Especially since the extras are driving THEIR OWN CARS.

In the comics, Shockwave is usually portrayed as being just as powerful as Megatron. As a matter of fact, he took control away from Megaron in the old Marvel Comics series and was more the main villain there than Megatron ever was.

Plus, there was a storyline that Dreamwave did a couple of years, back when they owned the comics rights to Transformers, that had Shockwave taking over Cybertron in the absence of Optimus and Megatron. Which I'd be willing to bet some money will be adapted to a certain extent in TF3.

In the original comics remember that at one stage the Autobots gave the Witwickys small robotic exoskeletons to use. They were even able to 'transform' (in a very basic way without breaking bones, it was basically just them tucking their legs in and lying horizontal) into rudimentary vehicles. Perhaps TF3 has the Autobots sharing something similar with Sam.

having looked at both angles.... i can't work out how this happened.... it's been reported that the officer was on a different radio channel to the officers manning the roadblocks closing the area for the shoot...

But why did they let him in and how did the crew not know he was there?

I live in the Washington DC area, and they had some major streets re-routed near the capital due to the filming of Transformers 3; it's been all over the local news here. :)

Update:

My local news just reported that TF3 filming in Dc has been put on hold due to a crash involving a police office driving throught the set, responding to a real call, and Bumblebee!

what i meant was how did the crew not know the cop car was coming? if the cops on the barriers had told the crew the SUV was coming through, why did they go ahead with the scene? and to flip it around.... if the cops on the barriers didn't tell the crew..... why not?
