I'm not much into Boortz since I find him to be annoying, but he is spot on with this.

The only ones that "care" about it are the idiotic christian conservatives, who spend more time pointing out the faults of others instead of dealing with their own faults first... like that guy in the book they consider important said

Nah,... More than just "christian conservatives".
I really wish the uninformed in the gay community would get a grip and look outside once in a while.

A CASUAL glance online lists more than 6 main religions including Baseline christianity as opposed to homosexuality.
The ones I glanced at :
Sikh
Christians,
Jews,
Muslims,
BAHA'I FAITH
Scientology
ZOROASTRIAN FAITH
Islam
Shinto
Taoism

Range from Strongly discourage gays to Kill them all.

As a Christian who belives in a live and let live policy where God has yet to tap me on the shoulder to go procecute anyone,.. I remain offended that EVERYTIME one of these threads come up,... it's ALWAYS ONLY the awefull EVIL Christians who have issue.

GEEEZ.

Lesbian kiss at M's game stirs up Seattle

SEATTLE - Most of the time, a kiss is just a kiss in the stands at Seattle Mariners games. The crowd hardly even pays attention when fans smooch.
But then last week, a lesbian complained that an usher at Safeco Field asked her to stop kissing her date because it was making another fan uncomfortable.
The incident has exploded on local TV, on talk radio and in the blogosphere and has touched off a debate over public displays of affection in generally gay-friendly Seattle.
"Certain individuals have not yet caught up. Those people see a gay or lesbian couple and they stare or say something," said Josh Friedes of Equal Rights Washington. "This is one of the challenges of being gay. Everyday things can become sources of trauma."
As the Mariners played the Boston Red Sox on May 26, Sirbrina Guerrero and her date were approached in the third inning by an usher who told them their kissing was inappropriate, Guerrero said.
The usher, Guerrero said, told them he had received a complaint from a woman nearby who said that there were kids in the crowd of nearly 36,000 and that parents would have to explain why two women were kissing.
http://www.canoe.ca/CanoeGlobalnav/invisible.gif

"I was really just shocked," Guerrero said. "Seattle is so gay-friendly. There was a couple like seven rows ahead making out. We were just showing affection."
On Monday, Mariners spokeswoman Rebecca Hale said that the club is investigating but that the usher was responding to a complaint of two women "making out" and "groping" in the stands.
"We have a strict non-discrimination policy at the Seattle Mariners and at Safeco Field, and when we do enforce the code of conduct it is based on behaviour, not on the identity of those involved," Hale said.
The code of conduct - announced before each game - specifically mentions public displays of affection that are "not appropriate in a public, family setting." Hale said those standards are based on what a "reasonable person" would find inappropriate.
Guerrero denied she and her date were groping each other, saying that along with eating garlic fries, they were giving each other brief kisses.
On Tuesday, Guerrero said a Mariners director of guest services had apologized to her. The team spokeswoman could not immediately confirm that.
After the story broke, the Mariners were blasted by the sex-advice columnist Dan Savage, who wrote about the incident on the blog of the Stranger, an alternative weekly paper.
"I constantly see people making out," Savage said. "My son has noticed and asked, 'Do they show the ball game on women's foreheads?"'
Savage called for a "kiss-in" to protest against the Mariners.
Websites have been swamped with blog postings for and against Guerrero and her date. And the story has people talking in Seattle.
"I would be uncomfortable" seeing public displays of affection between lesbians or gay men, said Jim Ridneour, a 54-year-old taxi driver. "I don't think it's right seeing women kissing in public. If I had my family there, I'd have to explain what's going on."
"It all depends on the degree," Mark Ackerman said as he waited for a hot dog outside Safeco Field before Wednesday's game. "Even for heterosexual couples."
Since the incident, Guerrero's job and her past have come under scrutiny. She works at a bar known for scantily clad women and was a contestant on the MTV reality show "A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila," in which women and men compete for the affection of a bisexual Internet celebrity.
"People are saying it's 15 more minutes for my career," Guerrero said of the ballpark furor, "but this is not making me look very good."
In 2007, an Oregon transit agency chief apologized after a lesbian teenager was kicked off a bus when a passenger complained about her kissing another girl.
Also in 2007, a gay rights group protested a Kansas City, Mo., restaurant they said ejected four women because two of them kissed, and a Texas state trooper was placed on probation in 2004 for telling two gay men who were kissing at the state Capitol that homosexual conduct was illegal in Texas.
"There's a double standard. That's the bottom line," said Pat Griffin, director of the It Takes a Team! Education Campaign, an initiative from the Women's Sports Foundation to eliminate homophobia in sports.

So, I found this article intriguing. The main argument I kept seeing through all of this was "If my kids see something like that then I'll have to EXPLAIN it!". My thought, as a new parent, was "Is that such a terrible thing to have to explain?" Whether you condone homosexuality or public displays of affection or not, it still exists. Your kids are going to see those things at some point, whether you want them to or not. Pretending that it didn't happen isn't going to cut it; the ostrich may stick his head in the sand but that doesn't mean his problems go away when he does. Is this an excuse to just be lazy parents without having to address any difficult concepts with your children? Or do these people have a legitimate complaint?

I don't disagree. Heavy Pettin' isn't for the masses to view. From the description this gal gives, though, she was just giving little smooches to her girly inbetween bites of garlic fries (Mmmm....Lesbian Garlic Fry Kisses With Lot's Of Tongue...mmmm). Doesn't sound like there was a whole lot of groping and trying to eat eachother's tonsils, which would make the complaints about them even more ridiculous if true.

Doesn't sound like there was a whole lot of groping and trying to eat eachother's tonsils, which would make the complaints about them even more ridiculous if true.

Parents have this thing that if they explain something new to their kids, it will make their kids want to do it. It's been the basis of parenting since the dawn of time, when Grok Jr. first saw two cavemen frenching after killing a dodo. Grok Sr. had his hands full that day.

There was apparently, "groping" involved. So there was probably a tit grab, a cootchie snatch and or a hand down the ass crack involved.

Two interesting points from the article:

"It all depends on the degree," Mark Ackerman said as he waited for a hot dog outside Safeco Field before Wednesday's game. "Even for heterosexual couples."

QFT. There's a time and a place for everything, and heavy groping makeouts belong in private, regardless of orientation.

So, was this an overly-showy, heavy makeout? Possibly, because...

How is it not good for her? It draws additional attention to her and her bar, and makes her look like she's a bold advocate of gay rights instead of just a brain-dead attention whore like everyone on "Shot At Love".

gawd i hate people who have issues with this....

i had a date with a guy once at my apartment complex, and we went swimming before the pool closed at 10pm... well 10 approaced and a black couple got in with us.. and swam and then went into the hot tubs, (both closed at 10) and me and my date swam and were real close, we maybe kissed once, did nothing else... and around 10:30 a black guard comes up to us.. and goes... "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" and were like.... swimming? and looked at us with disgust, saying we needed to get out and that the pool is closed... (but he wasn't saying anything to the black couple in the hot tub). i was like.. dude there swimming to, and he basically just told us to get the hell out of the pool again and asking us what we were doing. yet did nothing about the other couple.

sooo either it was a racist thing or a homophobic thing.. either way i think some old bat probably looked out her window and saw 2 boys romantically swimming and called to complain

Well, the pool was supposed to be closed for half an hour. As for the black couple, the guy might have thought it wasn't as dangerous (liability-wise for the apartment complex) to have people hanging out in a hot tub rather than swimming in a pool. Not nearly as much of a chance for drowning.

i had a date with a guy once at my apartment complex, and we went swimming before the pool closed at 10pm... well 10 approaced and a black couple got in with us.. and swam and then went into the hot tubs, (both closed at 10) and me and my date swam and were real close, we maybe kissed once, did nothing else... and around 10:30 a black guard comes up to us..

Some couples just like to be exhibitionists anyway, and like to make out in front of families with kids just to be a-holes. That type of thing I don't like. The same type of people that walk around and curse a blue streak in front of little kids purposely.
They were probably neglected as kids, so they need all the attention they can get. People are badass in that way.

I have engaged in public displays of affection, and while everyone is different, for myself I will say, it has nothing, in any way, to do with putting on a show for the attention of the people nearby.

Quite the opposite, it has to do with being so caught up in each other at the moment, that our surroundings seemed to disappear, and we don't give a **** what anyone nearby thinks, or even if they are there, though, yes, they are there...which is unfortunate....unless they get off on watching.

But then, I have never been a contestant on a vile reality show, nor has any chick I've been with.

Don't you love how much straight homophobes think of themselves?

Not only are they paranoid we're out to hit on all of them, but if we display the slightest sign of affection in public we're "trying to get attention" or "forcing our lifestyle on them".

Because yea, everything we do is just a desperate attempt to get their attention...

MPs are calling for an advert showing two men kissing to be reinstated after it was pulled following complaints. More than two decades after the first gay kiss on teatime TV, a kiss is clearly not always just a kiss.

Twenty-one years after Britain's first gay kiss on primetime TV prompted condemnation from MPs, a show of intimacy between two men clearly still has the capacity to shock television audiences.

Heinz has withdrawn an advert for its Deli Mayo brand one week into a five-week schedule. It depicts a man with a New York accent and dressed like a chef, making sandwiches in a homely British family kitchen. After a schoolboy and girl - who refer to the wise-cracking chef as "Mum" - dash through to pick up their sandwiches, their harried father appears, seemingly late for work.

The father says a fleeting goodbye but is summoned back by the chef for a more intimate farewell - a brief kiss.

We suggest you forward this to all your family and friends letting them know of the push for homosexual marriage by Heinz
American Family Association

The commercial was not allowed to be shown during children's programming because of Ofcom regulations governing fat, sugar and salt content. But more than 200 complaints were made to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) that the advert was "offensive" and "inappropriate".

A spokeswoman for the ASA says it's still assessing whether to investigate, but added that "homosexuality in itself is not a breach of the code" and complaints in the past about adverts showing same-sex kissing had not prompted any action.

Viewing the ad post ban, on YouTube, it's hard not to believe that Heinz must have foreseen controversy, and that this could all be part of an elaborate publicity stunt. The complaints were from people on "all sides of the debate", says Nigel Dickie of Heinz. He apologised for causing any offence but said the advert had to be withdrawn because it failed in its message.

"The mum transforms into a New York deli chef because this sandwich taste is so good," he says. "It's like having your own deli chef in the kitchen. It wasn't intended to be a gay couple, it was intended to be a humorous metaphor for these great-tasting sandwiches."

Boycott call

Yet one organisation failing to see the funny side is the American Family Association, which issued an action alert to members over the advert urging them to register their disapproval with the firm's US headquarters.

"We suggest you forward this to all your family and friends letting them know of the push for homosexual marriage by Heinz," says the association on its website. "It is the kind of ad which we can expect to see in California as they prepare to vote on homosexual marriage. Homosexual marriage is illegal in England."

But the withdrawal of the advert has prompted some MPs to insist it be reinstated, while gay rights group Stonewall is leading a campaign to boycott Heinz.

"Some people could be offended by seeing a mixed race couple but the real issue is whether it's proportionate to withdraw an advert on that basis," says chief executive Ben Summerskill.

When EastEnders and children's series Byker Grove were doing this 15 or 20 years ago, that was pioneering television, he says. This time, it's just a joke in an advert.

"No nine or 10-year-old child is going to be outraged by two men kissing unless someone tells that child to be upset."

Come on, gay men...mayo....no one sees the subtle innuendo there? :o

:p Honestly, they have a burr up their butt about nothing.

What's wrong with that commercial? It's funny! People are so homophobic it's sickening. And it's not even what the commercial is trying to say.

As long as the ad doesn't show a man making his own mayo...then I don't see the fuss?

The ad was just trying to be funny. It's shocking that people take it seriously enough to complain about it.

Oh my God that was hilarious and adorable. Maybe it's my weakness for New York accents (my best friend has one) but that was really good. The homosexual aspect of it didn't really even occur to me, the kiss just seemed like part of the joke.

and the ad

Xl0bkv0jCCM

That's ridiculous 20,000,000 (I think that's 20 million right?) saw the ad, yet because Heinz got 200 complaints they pulled it, no wonder so many people are boycotting Heinz. Oh and the thread title shouldn't have the word banned in it because the ad wasn't banned it was pulled, they're 2 very different things.:o

Haha. Love the commercial: very cute.

If Heinz could put it up in the first place, I don't see why it wasn't prepared to take consequences, if any.

Of course, double standards if Heinz depicted a heterosexual marriage: nobody would be complaining. It's very much the norm and indoctrinated into the major consciousness that if they threw a soap opera love triangle in or two, nobody would bat an eye.

See numerous soap operas for instance. If they had a gay couple in it at all, heads would roll.

I love the world but it can be pretty stupid a lot of the time.
