I agree with someone who had said earlier that Ruffalo looks more like Bana. Which to be honest I didn't hate Bana as Banner, I just didn't like the direction of the movie as much.

Yeah, not seeing the Bana comparison apart from the fact he's more heavy set than Norton.
Incidentally I'd take Bana over all 3 of them, he's a very watchable actor even when the script is lacking.

I guess I can see him as Banner. Still would've liked for Norton to be back but oh well.
if he slims down (or bulks up, depending on where he is now) to this look, i could live with it

Uh huh. So you're suggesting an obscure actor in an episode of that one tv show who resembles Bill Bixby.
Not ever gonna happen.
Hey, a guy can dream, right? A lot of TV actors are way better actors than big-name Hollywood celebrities. And money sounds like an issue between Fiege/Norton, so, I only thought, lol.

Banner isn't the hero, so Ruffalo wouldn't have to bulk up at all.

RDJ without his Tony Stark goatee kind of looks like Bill Bixby. If he weren't playing Stark he could've been Banner. Maybe he could play both roles and play opposite himself, but give two totally different performances so that they look like two different actors. After all, who else could hold his own against RDJ but RDJ?
 Very true.

Ok...I'll come off my "no Banner" stance for this guy. He would be the best Banner to date.
The best part:
Like Edward Norton, whom he'd be replacing, Ruffalo would bring real chops to the role. But, unlike Edward Norton, he wouldn't an on-set a**hole.
A definite upgrade.

I agree that Ruffalo looks too much like Eric Bana for my liking. He has one of the most annoying voices for a male actor too.

what i mean is for all i know he could be fat right now, or anorexic. I haven't seen him lately. but in the that pic he looks just right. i'm just saying that from either side of the spectrum head towards that pic lol

Me too, but this is Deadline. And though Nikki Finke is kind of a *****, her sources never fail :(
He looks the part, would need to just drop a few lbs. Norton really did have that spot-on look though.

Ruffalo would be boring to see as much as Bana. Similar acting style and personality. I would prefer someone that you feel like he's this struggling uneasy guy that something hidden can come out at any time. That is why Jason Patric would be my guy. He's like a lost soul. Ruffalo as Bana are too easy going guys that have a cool personality.

Actually it was Lou ferigno who voiced hulk in the movie and in the 90s cartoons, not the 60s.
You misunderstood my post. The voice of the '60's cartoon was done by the guy who plays the pizza parlor guy (he was also the voice of Spider-Man in the '60's cartoon too - Paul Soles is his name). I was simply pointing out that Ferrigno had a cameo in the movie as well. I know Ferrigno didn't voice those early cartoons. It was all the little touches I appreciated about the movie. Just other reasons I'd like to see Norton back. He loves the history. I think my point was misunderstood.

Yesterday, when I said that Ruffalo looks more like Bana, I didn't mean they look like brothers or like anything really that similar. It is just that Mark Ruffalo like Eric Bana has a fuller face, wider Jaw line and darker complection, where as Norton has a Skiny face, narrow jaw line and lighter compection. I was simply stating that he looked more like Bana then Norton, but not necessarilly to suggest that he looks like either of them that much.

I've always wondered, does anybody know what exactly Marvel and Norton were arguing about during the production of Incredible Hulk? All this talk of Norton being difficult makes me curious as to what he wanted in the film that marvel didnt want.

My guess...
Norton didn't want to play second fiddle. Many instances have apparently found him being a dick because of his stellar work in American History X and Fight Club (which was a decade ago Norton...you've always been a solid actor but c'mon!)

I've always wondered, does anybody know what exactly Marvel and Norton were arguing about during the production of Incredible Hulk? All this talk of Norton being difficult makes me curious as to what he wanted in the film that marvel didnt want.
From all the reports, it seemed like Norton was too involved with the process of making the film and Marvel just wanted him to do his job in front of the camera and then get out of their way.
Norton did a pass on the script. Some on set reports claimed he was literally over Letterier's shoulder while shooting on occasion. And he was in the editing room with Leterrier in post-production, coming up with a cut that had more emphasis on character development than the TIH that was released theatrically. Marvel wanted a more action-oriented, crowd-pleaser to disassociate TIH from the Ang Lee Hulk and also to have a shorter runtime as that would (theoretically) allow for more showings and keep the gravy train moving.
Marvel won out, but Norton seemed to take it personally, particularly at David Maisel. He and Maisel reportedly clashed duing the editing of the film (http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/03/11/edward-norton-and-marvel-studios-reportedly-arguing-over-the-incredible-hulk/). And not long after Maisel was stepped down as chairman of Marvel Studios, Norton said this in an interview: (http://www.superherohype.com/features/articles/100349-exclusive-edward-norton-addresses-the-marvel-issues)
"The main guy I had a beef with there left anyways, as always happens," he admitted. "As David Mamet said, 'Just wait 'em out cause they'll be gone, and you'll still be there.'"
I think Marvel didn't want that kind of headache with an even bigger production in Avengers, and just cut their losses.
All that said, I like the choice of Ruffalo. Hope that gets squared away. He's been solid in every movie I've seen him in. Can definitely portray the nebbish quality of Banner, imho.

I just personally dont seen Ruffalo as Banner, he seems to tough and butch for the role, even more so than Eric Bana who was very good in the role if you ask me.
Marvel have just totally ****ed this up to the point were practically no actor is going to seem a good choice.

Yeah, they're gonna have to really pick a good actor to get me excited about that again. Because the thought of Downey Jr., Norton, Evans, Jackson, Hemsworth, all in the same room together doesn't top whoever they get.
If Adrian Brody is cast, maybe I'll get excited. But it won't be the same. It's freaking Edward Norton. I just love that guy.

Exactly! It was a bad decision all around, I could understand one of the lesser character's being recasted but not Banner...yet again! But, what can you do, I just hope Banner's screen time is a total of five minutes or so in Avengers, that way it won't seem too bad with Ruffalo as Banner.
