The Armour. Yay or Nay? I say NAY

Guys, I'm sorry but the armour just does not look on. I really want to hear defenders of the awful armour on Odin. It makes him look weird and too cartoony. Why could they have not gone old-skool and just make good old armour? Like the ones you see in Lord of the Rings?

i think there's already a thread on this somewhere, but to put ur mind at ease, looking at other pictures of the armor, it depends on the lighting, 'cause in that first pic of odins armor, i'll agree it looked like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon. But like i said, it's all to do with lighting, cuz it looks fine in later pictures with more atmospheric lighting.

Have you seen how the armor looks in the teaser/sizzle/reel/trailer? The lighting really does make a difference--basically it looks much more metallic and it's darker so you don't see as much detail, ala TDK. Design wise---eh, it's the Kirby stuff they're going for so...............I think it could've been done better but..........eh.........

I say yay. You just talking about Odin or all of them? Watch the trailer, it looks better than the rather average publicity stills.

I like the armor on all of them. To ME (no offense Rouge) the Classic with no change is cartoony.
The recent JMS/Coipel design would have been GREAT too but in ways I would rather see some separation from LotR.
I think it works as is.

I felt like they were going for a futuristic look. and from what I've seen it seems to work very well

Odin's armor looks somewhat like the Kirby armor, which is what it should look like.
LotR would be going in the wrong direction.
