Our long lost friend, Ghostrider87 once wrote a Hype crime novel..

Mee: I am reporting live here in Downtown Chicago at UNO where the entire workers at the restaurant were murdered and robbed, along with six other citizens.

After seeing the report on the TV, Ghostrider87 grabs his hat and trench coat along with Duende Verde, and Asteroid-Man getting into Ghostrider87's 2007 Toyota Camry.

Duende Verde: So who do you think did this?

Ghostrider87: I don't know yet but this lowlife is going to get pummeled by me.Where I am suppose to be meeting Isabella?

Asteroid-Man: At UNO, the pizza restaurant.

Ghostrider87: That's the place that just got shot up... OK, now it's really personal this guy just really screwed up part of my date. Once I get done pummeling this guy he is going to be wishing he never committed these crimes.

The detectives arrive at the scene of the crime and get out of the car. They start to look on the ground and see a lot of bullets and dead bodies. Then just when Ghostrider87 is about to find a note that was left behind a bullet is shot.
The three dectives run for cover.

Duende Verde: Who are these people?

Asteroid-man: They are probablly hitman hired to kill us.

Hitman 1: After we kill these dectives we are going to get our bonus.

Ghostrider87: You are overlooking the fact you haven't killed us.

The Hitmen responded by unloading their ammunition and then having to reload.

Ghostrider87: Ok it's time to to take these scum down and one of you shoot their tires.

All three dectives charge at the two hitman knocking them down before they could reload their magizines in their guns.Duende Verde shoots at their tires.

Ghostrider87: I am going to make this very simple give me of who paid you to kill us and we don't have to use deadly force.

Hitman 2: Forget it we were paid to kill you and your partners and we will do it guns or no guns.

The first hitman charges at Asteriodman but moves out of the way with the hitman hitting the wall, where Asteroidman takes by throwing him in a set of trash cans. The next hitman tries to punch Ghostrider87 misses with him moving to the side. He ducks with the next punch grabs the hitmans hand and puts it in a wristlock. He rams his head repeeadtly.

Ghostrider87: This can stop anytime if you just give up the name.

Hitman 1: I won't and you can kiss your goodbye when Isabela is blown up.

Ghostrider87 throws the hitman toward the wind shield cuasing it to crack .

Ghostrider87: You know what to do with these scum I am going to rescue Isabella and will be back.

Ghostrider87 runs to his car and drives to Isabellas house very fast.
He arrives and charges into the house and sees Isabella tied up to the ralling along with the explosive on the top of the ralling. Ghostrider87 takes out a key to get the handcuffs off of her.

Isablla: I have to get my clothes and other things.

Ghostrider87: Look Isabella there is only three minutes left on this bomb if we don't get out within the next two minutes then the chances of getting out are low.

Isabella: I would rather take the chance.

Ghostrider87: Please Isabella I will take you to any resteraunt except for UNO because that was vandalized and robbed by criminals.

Isabella: Fine let's get out of here.

2 minutes left before the bomb goes off and Isabella and Ghostrider87 run to the car, and then driving off.

Ghostrider87: I am going to need a Fire truck at Isabellas Sanchez's house.

Mee: I am reporting live here at UNO where two hired hitman failed to kill three detectives. It begs the question if these pros can't do it than can the person who hired them actually get the job done?

Superman79: I should have sent my top people to get the job done than these claimed proffesionals.

Superman79 along with his henchmen and bodyguard leave their fancy hideout in Michigan Avenue in 2 2007 Ford Mustangs. Meanwhile Ghostrider87 drives to the resteraunt Isabella choose which is the Hardrock Cafe. She goes into the resteraunt and waits to be seated. Ghostrider87 drives back to UNO where Superman79 and his crew have already arrived.

Superman79: Attention detectives this can go end really fast or really slow it's your choice.

Asteriod man: I choose the slow way with you and your crew losing.

Both sides start to shoot with Aseriodman shooting AllStarSuperman in the chest.Duende Verde shoots the windows of the Mustang.

Jack Rabbit: He just ruined my Mustang. I'm going to kill him.

JackRabbit takes out his shotgun but not before Duende takes him out with a Spas 12 shotgun.Badgerphil takes out his machine gun and starts to uload with both Duende Verde and Asteriodman splitting up running. Ghostrider87 comes driving in slow with his 45 auto loaded using the laser target to lock in on Badgerphils head then shoots which has Badgerphill falling to his knees before dying.

Ghostrider87 Ok Who's next?

Fangrl06 I'll shot you first before you can get to him.

Ghostrider87 I really doubt it now do yourself a favor and move out of the way so I can arrest him.

Fangrl06 ends up pulling out two 45's and is about to shoot until Ghostrider87 unloads 4 shots into her one on the bottom of her neck and the last one in the heart.

Superman79 You are pretty tough with the gun let's so how tough without by going fighting me hand to hand.

Ghostirder87 I accept your challenge but just don't be screaming like a little ***** when I break your wrist.

Ghostrider87 takes of his suit coat and takes the magazine out of the gun and puts in his pocket. Superman79 moves in and tries to punch Ghostrider87 but misses with Ghostrider87 moving to the side. Ghostrider87 walks back to a brick wall where Superman79 attempts another punch but misses and hits the brick wall. Ghostrider87 takes advantage by putting his hand in a wristlock and then breaking it after twisting it.Superman 79 then screams in pain.He puts handcuffs on him and then drives him down to the jail. Ghostrider87 with the two other detecives drives to the Hardrock Cafe. Ghostrider87, Asteriodman and Duende Verde all enter Hard Rock Cafes where they meet their dates and have a great time.

The end

But, it wasn't the end.

All three detectives walk into Hard Rock Cafe and go to their dates.

Duende Verde I have been looking foward to this date.

Isabella 2 Same here except I wish you would have been here sooner.

Duende Verde The Important thing I am already here.

Isabella 2 So what you are going to be having?

Duende Verde I am going to be getting a gardan salad and a blt sandwich.

Isabella 2 ends up getting a burger with fries and both end up really full after they manage to finish their meals. Isabella 2 then kisses Duende Verde and asks him.

Isabella 2 So can we leave now?

Duende Verde I would except I didn't drive my car here.

Isabella 2 Not a problem I drove my corvette. Let's go.

Isabella 2 and Duende Verde both leave Hard Rock Cafe.

Asteriodman Well you looking gorgeous.

Lola Thank you and your looking spectacular yourself.

Asteriodman Anyone every tell you have some of the most beautifuleyes?

Lola smiles after recieving the comment.

Asteriodman I am going to take that smile as a no but you are really glad that you were told.

Asteriodman I would like salmon with cheese nachos.

Lola I would like a side salad with a steak.

Lola So after this where should we go?

Asteriodman Near the beach.

Lola You read my mind.

After eating Asteriodman pays the bill and both Lola and Asteriodman leave in Lola's Corvette.

Ghostrider87 Well you look amazing and extemly beautiful.

Isabella Thank you and you look very amazing and very handsome.

Ghostrider87 I am going to have breadsticks and spagetti.

Isabella I am going to split the breadsticks and have a lasagna.

Ghostrider87 So after this how about we walk throught downtown and enjoy the stars and the sky.

Isabella You are so sweet thoughtful and romantic.

Ghostrider87 Thank you.

After Ghostrider87 and Isabella finish eating Ghostrider87 pays the bill. Isabella kisses Ghostrider87 and puts her arm around him as they both exit the resteraunt and leave.

ah, never heard of "crank phone calls" before, I assumed it meant the same.

Psst... it does.

eh, do i really need to explain this to you? i guess i do...or maybe i don't since you are just trying to be a smartass, and failing... he changed the word i was using, and seemed surprised that folk could get into trouble for this, so i assumed he meant friends or someone doing a harmless joke...whereas I meant 'crank' , as in, someone who is genuinely trying to upset or terrorise someone with repeated disturbing, harrassing phone calls. whenever i have heard that word used , it has been to describe these types of serious attempts at harrassment.
They should never use the word 'prank' for these types of calls, the police wouldn't anyway, because it would be the wrong word, the wrong meaning, for that type of activity.
edit: it would be insulting to the victim of the serious abuse, and anyone else who used the word prank for such activities would just be flat out using the wrong word.

Nope.

sha-zam? I don't give a **** what wikipedia says, using the word prank to describe that kind of activity is using the wrong word, it's not a joke to do that kind of activity.

I hope you and Captain Marvel aka Shazam are ready for some hard hitting reality in life, cause things are not working out exactly how you guys planned are they? :oldrazz:

Okay then smart guy, find me one, just one, instance of there being a distinction between "prank" and "crank" from a credible website and I'll relent. Otherwise, you're wrong. Dead wrong. :hellboy:

I know for a fact that 'Sha-zam' is upset that i am not getting bent out of shape over certain matters and plans he has been hatching, so i guess you guys are here to try and rectify that.

Video of Will Smith giving a little backhand to a reporter at the MIB 3 premiere after the reporter tried kissing him.

WpaEk4wOUDY

I was planning to watch MIB 3 this week but this incident involving Will Smith & the reporter.....made me change my mind.

Sorry but I think Will Smith over reacted it. Sure the reporter acted inappropriately towards him but Will could have handled it in a calm, gracious manner....like pushing the reporter away gently.

I watch the video...and it's very clear....Will totally freaked out and start slapping the reporter and later uttered some unpleasant words to the reporter.

I think Will completely ruin his "Nice guy" image because of the incident. And he really humilate and embarrass the reporter in front of everybody!!

Being a gay man myself, I can't stand or endure his homophobic behaviour...I'm not going to watch or support his movie MIB 3

Anyway, I never really watch MIB or MIB 2...so it doesn't really matter or no big deal for me. They're all the same...about some men dressed in black suits fighting aliens...

Anyway, I hope it flop for Mr Will Smith....sorry but his behaviour just made me lose respect for him.

I don't care if he's straight or happily married..... He should learnt from Ryan Seacrest who didn't freak out when Borat pour that pot of flour/powder over him during the Oscars.

uh...overreact much? :o

^no problem
It continues!

All I'm saying is there is a number of ways Will could have handled the situation but he choose to handle it in an aggressive way, that's all.

He's a public figure, he should know better than not to lose his cool in front of all those reporters and cameras.

And to all heterosexual guys, sometimes you guys confuse me.

You straight football rugby guys have no problem smacking and slapping each other butts during locker rooms/ shower rooms.

You straight guys have no problem fooling around and sometimes kissing each other at the lips during frat parties or during wild dorm room parties.

Well you all are hypocrites and bigots.

I really don't know where is the fine line to be drawn for being overboard.

This Will Smith incident has really taught me a lot. And that is to protect myself as a gay man, it's the best that I try to minimise as much physical contact as possible with straight men.

I wouldn't want to place my hand on Will's shoulder or even attempt to even touch him cause I really fear he will freak out and punch me back.

And I take this as a warning lesson when dealing with my straight buddies and friends. To be safe and extra precautious, I will in my best interest to try and minimise as much physical contact with my straight buddies as much as possible.

I will try my very best not to touch them, rest my hand on their shoulders or even gave them a gentle brotherly pat on their back cause I don't know....they might be ultra sensitive and thought that I'm trying to molest them or something.

Since most straight men couldn't be specific about the level or amount of physical contact they want to be touched by people of the same gender, I think it is in the best interest of we gay men that to protect ourselves from any uneccessary accusations and allegations, that we maintin our distance from them and try to avoid any uneccessary physical contact with them for fear of them freaking out over us.

You straight guys have no problem fooling around and sometimes kissing each other at the lips during frat parties or during wild dorm room parties.
Nope again...

I was on a second date with with woman I recently met. Any woman I date has to know, understand, and encourage my particular fashion sense (I wear womens panties and jeans). No 10 ways around it. I am not ashamed of it, IT IS PART OF WHO I AM. I HAVE BEEN REJECTED BEFORE BY WOMEN SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS.

So the issue came up in a round about way on the second date. She asked me about my taking past gfs on panty buying trips, then asked me what kind of undies I like. So I grabbed 20 seconds of courage and told her on the second date! She replied, "thats it?" Thats your big secret? You like to wear panties? She told me that I can wear my womens flared or bell bottom pants, I can wear my comic tee shirts, I can wear flip flops or extra feminine panties or whatever I feel comfortable in because she is into me the person, not what I wear. Then she asked me where the best deals on panties are and what kind I like and where I shop! The fact that she was all dolled up in a short shirt with heels while I was wearing some faded flared blue jeans and an Iron Man tee shirt never bothered her. I looked like crap and she looked super hot! Actually some dude was crushing on her on our date. But she refuted him! W00t!

She is a freakin phenomenal woman and I am extremely lucky to have her.

Very hot, strawberry blonde that likes to wear heels and skirts and knows how to dress to the 9s!

How am I so lucky????? PS: I am not bragging as I have been rejected (SEVERAL TIMES!) by supposedly non judgemental, open minded woman in the past over this issue So what I am saying is that there are woman out there that not only accept but will encourage and share in your life. KEEP THE FAITH! Believe in yourself and all the past pain and rejection is 100% worth it! I NEVER felt more LOVED than I do at this very moment! I LOVE this woman, LOVE my girl clothes, LOVE COMICS, and LOVE this forum for all the guidance and support and good vibes it has given me over the years!

Last night seemed like a dream. After dinner (which SHE paid for) we went back to her place to get to "know" each other better. Talked and stuff for 9 hours! It was one of the best nights of my life! I have no secrets, I am an open book to this woman! :yay::hrt: And I get to see her tomorrow! WOOHOO Then she is coming over to my place and I am cooking for her!

I find it extremely funny how many on here think they are so 21st century open minded, but when I talk about this, they get all victorian century on me. Tells me some of you are NOT as open minded as you claim!

Its ONLY a piece of cloth! How come you cant be as cool my my girl here??????? Some of you are pretty uptight!:whatever:

OK, if I am gay, how come I am dating a woman and she is very much into me? Would you not think she would get the gay vibe? Would she not leave me? WOuld she NOT BRING UP THAT VERY POINT IF SHE thought that? BUT SHE DID NOT!!! What does that tell you???

W@W! some of you guys are really allow your prejudices to color your perceptions of reality. You cant see things for what they are, only how you THINK they are!

Of all the things, drug & alcohol addition, gambling, pornography additions, pedophile, physically abusive towards females, anger issues etc… wearing panties is not a big deal.

Besides, why is it that women can wear mens boxers, but men cannot wear panties? WHO makes up these stupid rules? In fact, that is exactly what this woman said!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/helen-..._b_600048.html (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/helen-cordes/calling-all-females-wear_b_600048.html)

It is YOUR type of thinking that empowers stuff like this:

*Girls and women are beaten, arrested and worse for wearing pants, even loose pants covered by skirts. Just last week, Indonesian women wearing jeans had their pants confiscated and were ordered to don long skirts. Schoolgirls in Sudan were flogged last fall for wearing pants

Did you know, that about 150-120 years ago or more, women wearing "the manly pants" was considered to be a form of mental illness? Sounds just like your line of thinking!

And society does indeed frown on the fact of a man wearing a skirt because society feels it is a sexual perversion or mental disease. A 1930's book on Psychiatry actually states that Crossdressing is a mental disease. A lot of society still believes that rubbish.

And yes, it was not long ago that women were not allowed to wear pants openly in public and men in the early 1800's wore stockings.

I dont care if you believe it or not. We have already striped and made out twice. PAST TENSE!

Just because you cant compete with me, dont call BS! Your the one not getting any action dude. I do just fine!

Dude, relax. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

We have a Doozy from the thread where Alan Scott comes out as a gay hero.

the thing about all of this crap is that readers / younger audience buys comic books to relate to the characters...

Some ppl have temper issues and can identify with Hulk..

Some are geeks and can relate to Spider-Man...

Some people have personal demons / deaths in fam and relate to Batman...

Some ppl are good spirited with good parents and relate to Superman...

Which casual younger comic book fan will go out of their way to read about someone who has more characteristics of a female than the actual reader ??

I think you need to clarify that.

We relate to Peter Parker bc he likes Mary Jane, the beautiful girl next door...

Bruce Banner and Betty...Gf sticks with her bf through the hard times, many of us have been there.

Cyclops and his life partner Jean Grey, school mates from teenagers...high school sweetheart anyone ?!?!

Clark Kent in love with Lois, his co-worker...Some of us can relate to that...

Bruce Wayne falls for the bad girl in Catwoman, Selina Kyle....SOme of us have done that before...

So which reader is going to relate Green Lantern that is chasing Bill or Steve?? How are we suppose to root for the character if his sexual desires are aimed toward another man ? ? ? And you know how many North Star comics would sell ? Zero.. And they would be worth less....

I understand DC wants to be edgy, keep up with the times and such, but there are some basic things in comics since the 1930's that STILL HOLD UP today. The values, basic character traits, inner demons are something that transends throughout time and is seen as 'classic'.

What will happen is DC will try this out, none of the casual readers will want to go out of their way for the comic, in fact some will probably be embarrassed to purchase it because they dont want anyone to think the 'can relate' and shy away from it. The comic will be cancelled and its just another comic book 'shock value' to boost some sales in a short term deal. Then they will continue to focus on Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner doing what they do best - relate to the reader.

Let me clarify, there is nothing wrong with gay people in society. Some of our greatest directors are gay - Bryan Singer, Joel Schumacher, Roman Palanski, and others.. but to use that element in a fictional hero that readers are suppose to identify with is just a public stunt. This is no different than Captain America's 'death' or making Spider-Man an african-american.

am I the only one that notes the irony that someone that is a fan of an openly gay director posted this???????

Wow... You point out the obvious joke and expect to be praised by anonymous screen names ? ? Wow, dude..just wow.

I'm not sure at the moment if you are serious or just being a troll.

In case you are serious.......it's time for you to come into the 21st century. Thirty years ago and more, comics were predominately read by kids between the ages of 10 and 18. Now, they are read predominately by people between the ages of 18 and 35. There are a many number of these readers who are gay. So yes, there is an audience for a gay character. And generally, today's audience of 18 to 35 year olds are more open and accepting of gay and minority characters than the audience of any age several decades ago.

So....if you are serious....please take time to think about the real life situation of the world and comic books and the modern comic book audience before you post again.

And if you are a troll....I will find that out fairly soon and ban you.

There's also an LGBT lounge that is pretty prominent in the Community section.

http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=381827&highlight=gay

That male picture thread is only 15 pages from the same posters..

and the LGBT lounge you speak of has three same posters...

So I'd aim that there is 5 SHH members openly gay males...

5

Out of....

how many SHH members ?? 20 thousand ?

C.Lee - you own this website - how many members you got going on here, brotha ?

First of all....I don't own the Hype. I am an Administrator here.

Second.....I'm not your brotha.....and if you knew anything about me, you would know I don't talk like that.

Third....we do not keep record of who is or is not gay on here. We also do not keep a record of who is black, Asian, European, Samoan, or Asgardian either for that matter. We are an inclusive society here....

So far....you are doing a fine job of proving to me you are a troll.

First of all, I'm not a big internet guy - you can tell this by my sign up date - 2009 and not that many posts. So I dont know exactly what a troll is. I rarely post here until recently (due to the TDKR / Avengers hype). So I'm not even sure what a troll is. Second of all, your name is red and moderator, i assumed you own the site. I'm not familiar with everyone who owns and runs it. And third of all, I was just asking a question about how many people are ON the site, not what their gender or anything is...Just how many members. And fifth of all, I was calling you 'brotha' because I was being friendly and nice. Sorry that I didn't realize it would offend you.

But wait, there's more!

Well, y'know...

A gay dude.

Homosexuals make up like, what, a fifth of the population or something, right?

There are gay people who read comic books.

No, you seem to be mistaken. The thing gay men have in common isn't that they all love fashion. It's that they all love cock. But fashion is kind of like cock, it's a common misconception.
Oh really ?!? How come everyone I run into at my comic book shop is talking about Batgirl's breasts ? How come every single person that I speak to at comic conventions are completely straight and dont show ANY signs of homosexuality ?

How come there are no males making "Hot Handsome Men Pics" on this forum ? Instead that Official Women hottie thread has like a trillion replies and pictures of HOT beautiful women. Where are the SHH posters who are gay ?

You're REACHING by saying that the gay community is big into comics... The truth is from MY experience and point of view, I dont know any comic book fans who are male and gay.... It just seems you're using that whole "gay people read comics and there are TONS of them" as a way to justify DC's decision.
1: Basing the demographics of comic book fans on the people you meet at the comic book store isn't exactly a wide or reflective sample pool.

2: I never said there were tons of gay readers, I said they existed. Nor did I say the gay community, on the whole, was big into comics. Just that there are gay people who like comics.

3: Obviously, there are less gay people in the world than straight people. But what that means is that unless it's at an event or place dedicated to gay-ness in some way or another, you're less likely to find random gay dudes bumping into each other at a store or convention and starting conversations about how dreamy Batman is. Also, overt projection of one's homosexuality is still pretty taboo in the US, so there are gay people who don't share their gayness as a defense mechanism. So just because you haven't run into someone at a comic event going up to people and saying "I AM A HOMOSEXUAL! HOW ARE YOU?" doesn't mean there aren't gay comic book fans and doesn't mean they should be discounted.

4: No handsom men pics? Have you ever BEEN on deviantart? There's more Batman/Robin sex art on there than anything else.

Also Harley/Ivy, that one's very popular too.

Batman comics really draw out a lot of slash enthusiasts for some reason.
My time is limited, I have to watch something in a second, but in response to number 4 - you discuss batman / robin sex art. But that is a SMALL percentage compared to the black cat / catwoman / power girl / batgirl / wonder woman / rogue / storm / white queen sex art where they are rubbing themselves and showing their breasts... You are stretching the numbers , like Batman / Robin sex art is all over the place, main stream, which is NOT. Just a few. Now compare those numbers to Black Cat & Mary Jane kissing / having sexx ! No comparison....

I'm not saying there are NO gay ppl who like comics, because i'd be generalizing. I'm saying that the PERCENTAGE is very VERY small , at least from my perspective.

I am no scientist but I am pretty sure this is the very meaning of close-minded

And lastly......

Sign up dates don't mean anything. We have many members here who may have been here for only a couple of months, but have spent years on the internet.

A troll, is a person who comes into a forum to screw with the regular posters, he angers them, insults them, and generally does things to make them angry for the fun of it.

There are about 20 mods on here with their names in red....do you think all of them own the site?

All you have to do is go to the index page for the forums...it says right at the bottom of the page under THE SUPERHEROHYPE FORUMS STATISTICS - Members: 36,074

You should get to know the people you are talking to before you address them in overly familiar ways. All the regulars know I am a crotchety old man (I am old enough to be the father or grandfather of most of the posters on here)....and do not talk like that.

Let's see....you refuse to acknowledge the existence of most of the gay comic book audience....and you refer to them as another species.....yeah, that's speaking very highly of them for sure.

I'm always address people in overly familar ways because I feel we are all ONE. Everyone is my brother in this world.

Second of all, I looked up troll online and it just seems as a person that does internet pranks. So I dont really understand why you are addressing me as that.

But C.Lee - how old are you if you don't mind me asking and are you a homosexual as well ? ?

And banned....

And dare I say it... No one will be quoting The Avengers in 30 years... Not even in 1 year. Not even in 6 months.

You can say it all you want, but I highly disagree with you. Nobody is going to quote TA in 6-12 months?

I agree..that's a pretty ridiculous statement. Hell, people still talk about iron man..avengers has been so damn successful both critically and audience wise..it's not going to be easily forgotten

Yeah it will. :whatever:

Nobody will be talking about this movie by the time December comes around.

And as far as quoting it... there aren't any lines to quote.

Look at Transformers. Huge box office monsters, yet nobody talks about them anymore. These big-ass blockbusters are like the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus: they're REALLY big when they arrive, and then they fall fast and we all move on.

Nobody talks about Avatar. Not unless the studio is cramming a sequel down our throats, then we'll be bombarded with the Director's Cut, the 4-Disc Ultimate Edition, the Blu-Ray Exclusive Extended Edition with $5 off your ticket to see Avatar 2... A lot of this stuff remains relevant because it's designed to stay relevant in pop culture, not because they're ACTUALLY relevant anymore.

Just like nobody gives a crap about Transformers anymore (hell, I barely REMEMBER it), but we'll all know of its relevance when Part 4 rolls around.

Dude, I hear people quoting TA, and I hear people talking about Avatar all the time. You're getting a bit overzealous with these predictions of yours.

Sure, you may not talk about TA or Avatar, but I think it's silly to say that nobody will talk, or has talked about those movies since release.

The difference is avengers was a critical hit..not some transformeresque mindless blockbuster. It had an A plus cinemascore grade, a pretty rare feat. And I don't know about u but ppl still talk about avatar all the time..it's noted as probably the most visually stunning movie ever

Not only do people still talk about Avatar, but you have crazy intense fans that go as far as have depressions, because they can't go to the planet. That's insane fandom!

You guys are simply living in a dream world. It's out with the old, in with the new. That's how the business works now.

Give me three quotes of dialogue from The Avengers that people are raving about at these "pop culture parties" where people "talk" about these movies. It ain't happening. Give me two. One? I highly enjoyed The Avengers, but I barely remember it now. I remember some of the fighting in New York at the end, with some aliens, and some giant worm thing, but that's about it.

The movie industry's big goal is to have a killer opening weekend, keep some stability, and then it's whisked away into the unknown, so it can make room for "Big Summer Blockbuster #3965." Nothing has longevity anymore.

The Avengers isn't even culturally relevant, or pop-culture relevant. Like, barely. It's a movie with jacked up ticket prices that fewer people went to the theater for than what the box office numbers say. Numbers don't always speak for themselves. High box office =/= more people went to the theater.

Nobody cares about Avatar, guys. I promise.

Examples of when you KNOW and FEEL that something is huge in the zeitgeist, in the streets as you walk down the sidewalks, I'll give you two:

1. Batman (1989)
2. Titanic (1997)

Nothing has touched those two movies. Those are the two by which you judge all other movies in this era in terms of pop culture phenomenon and relevance.

Not sure about Avengers at this point, but the bold is complete BS.

Dude, I WORK in an environment where it's entertainment-industry talk 24/7. My career revolves around pop culture. I'm telling you. Yes, there's a group of hardcore Avatards like there are Trekkies, but they don't make up a culture, they make up a small group of people. The general audience doesn't care.

"Pop culture parties"?

As for TA, there are TONS of quotes. Have you not heard people doing shawarma quotes? Hell, did you hear about the 90% increase in sales at most shawarma joints around most major cities? Have you not heard the MANY "puny god" quotes? Or the "we've got a Hulk", or "Hulk Smash" lines, etc etc etc? Just the increase in shawarma sales should be evident enough that the movie has grabbed people.

The movie is still going strong, and you're already talking about how nobody is talking about this movie. I'm sorry, but I just can't agree with you on this. Not.one.bit. Again, this seems to be more of a case of you not talking about it, but that has nothing to do with what others are saying.

I mean, to even suggest that nobody talks about Avatar, and that it had no impact on anybody except for a very select few is just.....

I've said it several times, but to me, the amount of money made means nothing.
The number of tickets sold means everything.

Which means:

- Avengers will make more money.
- TDKR will sell more tickets.

It's really a "Tickets vs. 3D" game.
And which is more important to us, the fact that it made a zillion dollars, or the fact that everyone and their aunt saw this movie and launched it into legendary, iconic status? A pop culture phenomenon, just like The Dark Knight?

The Avengers wasn't a pop culture phenomenon. It was a movie that made a crap-load of cash, and it made it fast and easy. I know that nobody agrees with this, but time will be the deciding factor. That movie is already yesterday's news. Out with the old, in with the new.

You know a movie is something special when the "new" STAYS "new" for a long time, when everything that comes after it is somehow inferior to it. TDK and Inception did that to me.

3D, to me, is a cheap, cop-out way to get your movie to a billion. ANY MOVIE CAN MAKE A BILLION NOW. Alice In Wonderland made waaay more than it should've. I'm more impressed when a movie contributes to the zeitgeist, defines an era, has you talking for years about social issues. The Avengers isn't doing that... The Dark Knight did. You're not looking at Hulk and Thor and seeing any debates about Bush, 9/11, and the Patriot Act. You don't see the cinematographer of The Avengers winning the Oscar for best cinematography, for shooting wild action that's rarely been conceived with rotating hallways within a rolling van. TDKR in the "artistic integrity" department has this in the bag based on the trailers alone.

I see total strangers on sidewalks wearing TDKR shirts, of all ages. They know it's coming. I know it's coming. But does everyone else? I almost prefer they didn't, because when it hits, everyone's going to be ****ing bricks.

TDKR will prove to us an important point: If the movie's amazing, people will flock to it, regardless of gimmicks. And if it's something truly memorable, we'll know.

I'm annoying at this point, but I'll drive the point home one last time:
It's the movie of the decade. Bank on it.

Jesus...sounds like someone is a bit jealous and worried up there.

:hehe:

This. :hehe:

Why do you people have to be such douchebags on a site dedicated to being a fan of this stuff? If you don't like it, go some place else that doesn't have to do with Super-Hero-Hype. HYPE for SUPERHEROES. That's the whole point. I'm seriously considering leaving after this movie comes out -- I'm sure it would be the perfect time anyway. I'll find a place where fans can actually be fans.

Also, :hehe:

Or you just don't have to be an over-exaggerating spazz about everything.

Or you could just shut up and let people be excited.

Sorry but your post crying about how Avengers didn't deserve to make over a billion dollars and that it's not fair with 3D was whiny fanboy bull ****. You act like it's somehow threatening to TDKR and fanboy **** like this makes me laugh.

So? Let people be excited and say what they want. Be a buzzkill on IMDB, like everyone else is.

I really like this girl. She's like a 6.5 but has very large buns that may drive the score a bit higher. But it doesn't really matter because she doesn't like the way my home is heated. I had her and her friends over for beers one night and all she kept talking about was the smell from my baseboards and the way electric heat dries out her skin. I started to explain the benefits of being able to partition off rooms with electric heat, no furnace issues, etc but she wasn't hearing any of it. When I talked to her friend about whether it's a good idea to ask her to go steady she said "I wouldn't bother to be honest". I asked why and she said she has a big problem with the heating system of my home and doesn't want to set foot there again. I didn't realize this was such a big deal. I am calling some heating experts now to get a quote for a new forced air system as we speak. Could be a couple grand. What do? I like the girl but I'm not sure it's worth the expense.

Really? You aren't sure if you should spend a couple thousand dollars just to change the heating in your house because there is a girl you hardly know who refuses to come to your house because of it?

Is she the only girl in your section of the country? You say she is a 6.5......are you a 2 so you are that desperate? Do you also plan on getting a new car, new clothes, and plastic surgery to try and possibly sometime in the far off future get her to drop by your place so she can say it's painted the wrong color and so refuse to come in again?

From the weirdo's who's suddenly plunged into severe depression when Heath died..

The idiot who made the Woodstock and election claim..

The strange ...people who started a petition to stop Joker from appearing on future batman movies..

I have to say I hated this movie. If you want me to suspend my disbelief, fine, but don't juxapose the fight with vampires with the emotional weight of freedom and the cival war.

I thought this movie was going to be Lincoin fights vampires the entire movie as a young man and just before credits roll someone turns to him, winking at the camera and says, 'have you ever thought about politics?'.

But this movie deals with the vampire hunting and the political career, I kept getting taken out of the movie over and over again.

5/10

Someone took a not so serious movie, seriously.

I could live with that (like to think I could) but a actual marriage, probably not. But I never want to get married.

OK...dude...this has been killing me for the longest time...

You use "an" before a word that begins with a vowel. Have you ever noticed how weird it sounds (and looks) when you use "a" before a word that begins with a vowel?

I don't write scripts anymore. And I always thought V was a vowel....but then I looked it up and found out it wasn't. :o

Please...please tell me you're joking about the whole always thinking "V" was a vowel thing. Please be joking.

I mean how do you get past like, second grade without knowing that V is a consonant?

I just don't have a need to remember my vowels. I still have trouble remembering my ABC order after the letter 'O'.

Ok, I just did a on-line game. :o I don't know my ABC's. I got 3 letters wrong after O. Like, I know W,X,Y,Z. The ending of the ABC order...but

I messed up at P,Q,R,S. I had QSRP.

I probably forget about this like a week from now.

It is impossible to have graduated elementary school, let alone high school, without knowing your ****ing alphabet.

So yeah it's a gimmick.

I knew my ABC's when I had to know them. Meaning after I was taught to learn them...I didn't need to remember them anymore. It's like Algebra. Been 4 years since High school, I don't know it anymore. And I didn't pass Algebra 1A until the 4th time I took it. (Swear to God, I am not lying here) I just didn't try the 1st 3 times I took Algebra 1A. I really only tried the 2nd time...and after the 1st 9 weeks with a D, I ended up failing the 2nd 9 weeks. The 4th time I took it I tried...got a C or B. I was the kid that daydreamed or took naps in schools pretty much.

How do you not use your ABC's in daily life?

Just looking around and my DVDs are alphabetized.

When you are on the computer you use letters.

When you write, you use letters.

What I think is a gimmick is willingly admitting that one spent 4 years learning basic algebra and not knowing the alphabet. :oldrazz:

Do you think it actually makes you look good?

I meant ABC order. I know the ABC's, just not correct order they go in.

This is a comic book board....and I hardly read comics...

Why should I care, Anita18?

ETM is what? 23 and doesn't know the order of the alphabet? i really hope you're being facetious there, because alphabet is hugely important to your life. you want to go back to college, you're gonna have to know this stuff. there will be papers, classwork, etc.

Watch Sesame Street, you'll be all good.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/CodyA/180px-Borgnine_as_marty.jpg

Once, a long time ago - this was back in my early acting days, the 1950's- I went over to a restaurant called McGuinness' and I ordered dinner - we had a show that night - and my bubble was this big, you know. And I said, 'Man! I did it. I stepped on a couple of lines, but I did it!' A woman came by who had evidently seen the show and said, 'Oh yeah, there's that jerk that was talking through the laughs.' And my bubble went flermgh. But the thing is, that woman wasn't a woman.

That was my first meeting with the masterful Weird Al Yankovic.

Needless to say, I broke a bottle and nearly tore out his jugular vein, but he survived and we became great friends.

I went on to kill Frank Sinatra, he became the star of the mega blockbuster UHF.

I love that man.

One thing though, all these years, since I first saw the 1989 film, I've wanted to be Batman. Seeing him as a depressed hermit who moped over a woman that ultimately didn't even want him, Batman became me.

I'm sigging this.

I completely approve of my fiancee leaving me being a source of comedy. No sarcasm intended. If we can't laugh at ourselves we shouldn't laugh at anything.

TO FULL OF HAPPY EPIC WIN TEARS holding my Girlfriend in my arms with pure joy tears CAME FORTH!

TDKR exceeded my exceptions beyond measure and with full encouraging adversity of why Nolan's take on Batman was so complying and fulfilling that it's a film about epic storytelling that didn't needed to be the top grossed boxoffice movie, or famous film franchise but a symbolic embodiment of what real hero can do once they rise from the depths of despair and bring forth that shinning admirable hope all people longed for in their lives to give strength and acknowledgement of a good triumphs over evil and can live on as a legend to the next generation to look back and remember myth of hero known as "The Batman".

And I got to see and hear the looks and cheers in people's faces and voices inspired for Nolan's final conclusion on The Dark Knight Trilogy's epic story that will remain legendary in Cinema for a longtime. I'm happy I got to be there to see it. ^_^ Because it's by far the best movie I've ever been too, and a night to remember when I get older and I tell my kids and grandkids with all the reboots coming in the future , I can tell tehm that the real Batman I saw back then was's "Nolan's Era" and was the best one of them all. LOL

Still in my opinion TDKR is "Cinema Perfection" itself. Hands down it will hold a place in my heart as it brought that last piece of myself being a 6 year old kid again when I first saw Batman as my #1 fave hero I looked up too and never will forget that day or 7/20/12. I'm looking forward to seeing which torch Nolan will pass on to the next director or producer willing to tell another story about the legendary Batman. :D

Five words: Is Patty Mayonaise a lesbian?

I was watching Doug on TeenNick's The 90's Are All That the other day, and a weird thought occurred to me.

After Disney bought Doug from Nickelodeon, a new series was made, Brand Spanking New! Doug. In it, Patti's look had changed. She had short hair and wore one earring.

Now think about it.. This is a girl, who, obviously reciprocates Doug's hidden feelings for her. But Doug, being the dork that he is, never tells her how he feels.

By the time "Brand Spanking New Doug" hit, and her hairstyle had changed, I think it was very obvious that something was going on with Patti. She was confused about her sexuality and had begun to experiment. (After years of waiting for Doug to come around, maybe she called up her best friend BeBe and broke out the double-ender?)

She plays basketball (A very boyish sport, making her somewhat of a tomboy) And check it out. One earring!

So is she just a confused straight girl, a full-on lesbian, or just bi?

Ok hear me out. Ledger's joker can't be immitated. A lot of people think he paved the way for how joker will be portrayed in the future. I think that's crazy talk. He did an amazing job and then he died. The last thing you want is for the next portrayal to try and immitate ledger's performance. You want something completely different and the way to be different is by immitating the comic book version.
Don't limit your options to who can both look and act the Parr. Go with CGI and use facial motion capture. He has to look 100% real. Who should play him? Mark hammil from the cartoons and video games. He is perfect. Watch footage of him doing his voice overs. He fan do it better than ledger. But it would take CGI to make him look like the comic book.
I'd not mark than just pick an actor who can act the part but don't limit our options to people who look the part. Use CGI facial motion capture to make him look perfectly like the comic book.

A knock-knock classic.

"Who's there?"
"Three bananas and an orange."

Is it the "orange you glad I didn't say banana?" joke? I don't get it, the bananas are there first... I ruined what the picture's joke was by asking, didn't I?

You're right, though. It's the "orange you glad I didn't say banana" joke.

I thought the joke was:

"Knock knock"
"Who's there"
"Orange"
"Orange who?"
"Orange you glad I didn't say banana."

EDIT: Holy hell, I did not know the longer version of that joke. The picture is good now. You learn something knew everyday.

Actually the loooong version of the joke is...

"Knock knock"
"Who's there?"
"Banah nah, nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah nah" (3x) then comes orange

The way I've always heard it:

"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Banana."
"Banana who?"
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Banana."
"Banana who?"
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Banana."
"Banana who?"
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Orange."
"Orange who?"
"Orange you glad I didn't say banana?"

this would be correct:hehe:

I'm just going to put this... here.

prolouge

This is a story of a world much different than ours called midgar. Only few wise men know why, but there world once consisted of humans but now only consists of beasts that are half human, half animal.

The world of midgar has four main beast classes ; the Leos, great swords men with good strenght and speed making them great warriors its too bad there very hard headed and almost have to be leaders because they hate taking orders from anyone, the Tigras, a race that uses only women as wariors who relie almost completely on archery along with great speed makes them the best archers in all of midgar if they lack one ability it would be there strength which is the cause of not having men in there army, the Rhinons, slow moving brutes with great strength along with skill with a war hammer or battle axe, the rhinons lack wisdom because they take orders from anyone with a higher rank which causes them to have horrible stategy in battle, the last main race is the panthions, a race of that relies completly on their natural speed and agility making them great assasins and spys, if there empire where ever to come under attack by another empire instead of making an army to fight back they would send there assasins to kill there political leaders and than become the new leaders of that race.

Recently Tyrus, The dictator of the drageons, a race of dragon beasts, found out that trough alchemy he could have the skills of other races but he would have to kill one beast from each race to get its traits. The first time he tried it he killed a scavenger (a rat beast) a cheeton (a cheata beast) and a were wolf. The result of the alchemy gave him the great senses of a scavenger, the speed of a cheeton, and the strength of a a were wolf, but the result also made him a very ugly creature with the body of a dragon, nose of a rat, fur like a wolf, and black spots on his fur like a cheeta. Tyrus felt like he weas too good to be a drageon so he abandon his own class and left them to die while he used more alchemy to make a new class of beast that would change as he did. Tyrus has caused the three races he stole traits from to go into hiding along with other races he has stolen traits from that no one knows of yet. Now Tryrus has taken the next step and started attacking the four main classes which is where our story picks up.

This thread is increasingly hostile towards beast men...and I find that highly offensive. Seeing as how my father was a beast man and couldn't earn enough money to fully support us, putting us on welfare and eventually getting us deported to a foreign country...I see NOTHING funny nor entertaining about 'hunting' a 'bad guy' who is a 'beast man' purely for the sake of 'hunting' a 'beast' man'.

CEASE AND DESIST before I report you!!

you know you bettar be kidding cause if your not. that is the dumbest think ive ever heard. i dont even get ho this would be afensive. and by the way i didnt put this on the fan fiction boards because i wanted to see how the shh community reacted to this befor i entered it

I know I'm a little late on this but I couldnt help it. This is towards Nosebleed pretty much. For starters you say this is hostile to how you say "beast men", how would a fan made story be hostile to "beast men"? For one they dont necessarily exist in the way that spidergrant is talking about. You also say that your father was a "beast man". Well what was he exactly? Perhaps part wolf or a bear? And if he was disfugred into some beastial form then wouldnt that make you part beastial yourself? And if he was "handicapped" like you say he was then how would he not be able to make a living? Online? So far I find your arguement to be quite untrue and rather pathetic. And what else do you find offensive about anything that portrays "beast men"? Movies, cartoons, music, that Geico commerical perhaps? Do you write complaints to movie companies saying that they should recall all of their movies that contain beastial humans in the film because you find it offensive for a reason that makes no sense what so ever? And whats with CEASE AND DESIST OR I"LL REPORT YOU! Who are you Robocop calm down man gosh.
You know theres a quote I was told from a WW2 Veteran that obviously survived but sadly passed away about 10 years ago, his name was Don "Doc" Watson and he said, "Better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt". And if you can put two and two together you'll know what that means.

Alright… Here GOES.

So, I saw the Hobbit the other night with my friend Knobby on Friday. Now being the wupped self he was, he brings with his Morbidly obese girlfriend. Knobby is sort of a quiet fellow you see, he hurt his knee in a Rugby game 4 years ago, and has not been them same since, even though he is about 6’5" and 300 pound man mountain. So, he’s been dating this complexion challenged Manatee for a while now. She’s like the Emperor from Star wars, but uglier due to the massive facial acne and dark whiskers growing out of a mole that might as well be a conjoined twin. Having her with us is painful. Its like seeing your friend having his gonads ruptured in slow motion by a leviathan from the Barrier.

So anyway, me and Knobby was all stuck in one of those "what do you wanna do?", "Dur I dunno, what do you wanna do?", convos, when I suggested we see a movie about midgets. Now, Knobby is a nice fellow, but he loves nothing more than giggling about "lil’ folks, so he was sold. That’s when Ursula the sea witch called him up and threatened to wither his soul or some **** if he did not drive over to her likely condemned dwelling place and pic her up.

We get there and load her in the side door, and after an impressive effort we got the vehicle to begin rolling. It was cold out, and the engine has some trouble, specially with the three of us heavyweights on board.

Now we get to the theatre, and there was this cute girl working the concessions, and to get her number I had to pretend to not be with Knobby, not because of him, but the creature from the Succubus lagoon.

So we load into the packed theatre, and found a spot for three near the highest railing in the theatre room. Got sorta dizzy looking down.

We see the other trailers and then finally, it is JUST THERE. The Man of Steel trailer in all its epicness. The Audience is Silent, and I just utter one little phrase. "I’m so glad they cast henry Cavill". That was all it took, and Ursula the sociopath Manatee stood her rottenness up, getting right in front of me, causing me to miss the trailer. It was like she was using her girth to blot out the sun. She screams in my face "**** YOU! YOU must have KNOWN I had a Crush on Brandon since the last one and its fan’s like YOU demanding a reboot that I’ll NEVER get a sequel!!!!" She now had the theatres entire attention, as she went insane on me. I was in shock, like a dear in headlights, not knowing what to say, and she reached forth her sausage like fingers and grabbed my throat, her bloated form starting to smoother me. I looked like a guy out on the surface of Mars with no air flailing in aggony beneath the Ogre's clutches.

I rolled my eyes toward Knobby who was in just as much shock seeing his wicked giantess girlfriend attempting to Murder his only reach Pal. She had already ruined the trailer for the whole theatre, the crazed fan attempting to crush my windpipe. She sneered at Knobby "Don’t you dare ****ing move or I swear I’ll dump you right here, leaving you forever and Incel!"

Then it happened. Knobby snapped like Darth Vader on the Emperor. With inhuman strength he hoisted the living mountain of zits into the air and cast her down over the railing. We could hear her frothing curses until she landed into what looked like a trash dumpster at the bottom. She likely survived and skulked away but its now over between her and Knobby.

I took him out to the lobby, and with his newfound confidence we went out clubbing, and he got numbers from 3 hot babes, all of whom agreed that Henry Cavill is sexy, when he showed them on his smart phone.

Later we snuck back into the theatre, and watched the trailer, uninterrupted by any sociopath SR fans. The whole theatre Cheered for a second time, and Knobby giggled in delight at the Hobbits. Particularly the heavy set fellow. It was a great night. One to be remembered in all Middle Earth.

look within the yellow boxes to observe the behavior of the building debris. it increases over time, so to me, that means the person is using the building as a point of contact to travel upwards.

edit: also, look at the building behind the figure. you'll notice that the number of visible windows decreases, which means the debris obstructs the view of them.

OMG!!! You can see Clark's face in the sky overlooking Metropolis.

On one hand, it's like when Bryan Singe left, my parents got divorced or something... and then X-men 3 was a douchebag my mum dated as a rebound and then X-Men Origins Wolverine was an alcoholic, physically and emotionally abusive boyfriend... and then with X-Men First Class, it was different, not quite the same as it had been before dad left but for some reason it worked and we were happy, for the most part (if not still a little scarred with bad memories).

Now it's like all of a sudden Dad has come back and gotten together with Mum again, but he's also in an open relationship with our NEW parents... so it's a big, weird orgy of biological parents and step parents and I don't know how to feel about that...

Hi, this is SnuffTheRooster. Before you ban me, I'd just like to clarify a few things. I've been on this forum since 2007(under the name Aluchak), and not once before that 2011 incident had I gotten in to any sort of trouble here. I hadn't received an infraction before that, and I always strived to be a good poster and contributor to these boards. I had only 2 accounts at that point, and the reason I had made the 2011 one was for a simple name change. I mainly posted on my SnuffTheRooster account after that, although I occasionally posted under Aluchak as it was the one logged on my phone and I was too lazy to log out and log back in using the touch screen.

A few months ago me and a few people were posting on the Hobbit boards. A discussion was going on about "R rated LOTR movie titles". Things like "50 Shades of Gandalf the Grey" were thrown around and we were all having a good time. Later I had logged onto find out that I have received an infraction for the exact quote like "I wouldn't go on an adventure with gandalf". I PM'd a mod who I thought would be understanding and asked if infractions could be removed if they were found to be unwarranted. I can't quote the PM because its against forum policy, but their response was basically "Drop it or be banned." which really caught me off guard. I didn't believe them and said something along the lines of "I can get banned for inquiring about a post? Well then I could use a break from this place". Sure enough almost immediately after this exchange "30 day probationary ban" pops up on my screen.

I'm obviously frustrated at this point, but I let it slide because hey, its only temporary. I make it so I can still view the site as a visitor so I can still read the posts, because I'm not going to abstain from reading about movies completely for over a month. A few hours later it appears that its been switched from 30 day ban to permanent. Really frustrated, I use the contact us button at the bottom of the screen to send an email to the admin. No response. Over the course of a few weeks, I wait, and try to contact them again. Still no response. At this point I lose hope of ever being able to get a response from an admin.

For a few months I had to go to places like IMDB and Comic Book Movie for socializing with people common interests as me, and that did not go well at all. When my internet stopped working and we had people come in and fix it, I didn't know if we got a new IP or not, so I test it out by making an account, expecting to get banned almost immediately. I named it after the song I was listen to at that moment, Castles in the Air by Don McLean. To my surprise I didn't, so I was able to post for a few weeks. I didn't know if the ban was lifted or if my internet changed, but at this point I didn't care because it worked. I had tried to contact the admin quite a few times and was never able to, so I gave up on trying to clear my name.

I don't know why it took so long for them to catch me and I don't really care. All I want to say is that I have tried making sense of what happened and making peace with mods, admins, etc but I've been ignored every time. I never used any vulgar language, I didn't use name call, I never posted inappropriate images, I have never used hate speech, never posted pirated material, and I've always strived to be a good poster. I went from being a rule abiding poster to permanently banned fugitive in a matter of hours over something, I think, is quite silly, and I've never been able to talk it over with an admin.

Maybe he was framed like the guy at Shawshank.

I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Admins let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but the Hype is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile, Hype life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Andy would show up with fresh infractions. The Admins kept at him, sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Andy, that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him.

Sometimes it makes me sad, though, Andy being gone. I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.

Well, if you're being honest (and to be fair, we've only heard your side) then it does sound like you were treated unfairly. On the other hand, admins and mods aren't known for going back on their decisions, so this is a good time to say goodbye and good luck.

OK, let's clarify this one. The Snuff the Rooster/Aluchak double account wasn't a problem. However, the incident on the Hobbit thread...

What may have started in the Hobbit thread as 'a good time' went completely overboard, with comments that were totally offensive and inappropriate. The posts were deleted, and the authors of the most offensive posts were infracted for using inappropriate language, Snuff among them.

The mod who saw the conversation getting out of hand actually reported it first so we could decide on the appropriate action to take. The staff agreed that deleting posts, infracting the most offensive ones, and posting warnings on the thread was necessary.

Snuff was infracted a second time for incessantly complaining that we stopped their 'good time' and trying to bring the sex talk back. His less-than-civil response to his second infraction on the subject was what earned him the probation. His response to the probation was that it was good...he needed the break anyway.

No, what actually happened was that he spent the next several days trying to come back with more than a dozen different accounts. Our system kept catching him, and his new accounts kept getting banned.

I can't speak for the other admins, but I never received a PM from his most recent account, which is now banned. Perhaps if he had just taken the infraction, discussed his disagreement with it like a grownup, and not spent the next week trying to sneak back in here like a sitcom character in the first place, he wouldn't be banned now.

But he is, and it will stay that way.

oh lawd.

My, my, my!

Now do you see why we don't let him back?

Censorship now? Good work.I tried being civil. I wanted to put this all behind, but I guess its more important for you to look right.

idsxgLjGXGI

But trying to apologize with one name and acting like a raving lunatic on another isn't a good way to do that.

Frankly, it's more annoying that this is keeping me from watching my Wreck-It Ralph blu-ray.

Jen has cleared up how things went down, the banning only happened because Snuff created over a dozen accounts while on probation.

For the record using the "contact us" function sends an E mail to Mirko, not to any of the admins. If you want to talk to any of us then use PM's, I've never once not replied to a PM from a user, but some need to realize that just because any admin may be open to discuss a situation, it doesn't automatically mean they are right and everything will be reversed.

http://media.tumblr.com/7057c5ac122008730d29c75bcdd7977b/tumblr_inline_mfru2vJAfn1rwe3rf.gif

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-txO_g8rU5X0/T87AtwV6FTI/AAAAAAAAAlk/OppdqukN96M/s640/Gladiator.gif

Not quite true. The alternate accounts were made AFTER I was permanently banned. I only had the two at that point. One of which was already logged in my phone. You tell me to PM a mod which was I wanted to do, but its kind of hard to do when you're being banned every time you register. Which is why I used to contact us at the bottom. Which didn't work. This situation could have easily been diffused but now its been blown completely out of proportion. I didn't need to be banned. I got banned for "not dropping it". Well that worked out good, huh? Here we are 6 months later in the same disagreement. Next time treat people with just an ounce of respect and this kind of situation can be avoided.

Take a hint.

dunno, I've been meaning to watch that show.

So is Community's shtick just referencing other popular shows to get popular? Not trying to diss it it just seems every time I see something from it it's a contemporary TV pop culture reference winking at the audience type of joke. Or a puppet or claymation episode or some kind of gimmick. Then again when I had only seen bits of Arrested Development back in the day I didn't get it and we all know that show is godlike so I could be wrong about this one. :P

Thats not community...

Actually everything I said that I'd seen on the show I did indeed see on the show so if there's more to it than that you're not really convincing me by saying "That's not Community" when it was.

XD

he said that it wasn't community because those gifs were from parks and rec..

The fail...it's so delicious.

No. What they meant was that the gif you were responding to, that was making the Game of Thrones reference is not from Community.

Even in its themed episodes, Community does fewer direct references than simply just taking on the tropes and structure of different genres. Or at least that was its strength in the earlier seasons.

And the themed episodes don't even make up the majority.

Okay even I gotta laugh at my mistake there. hahah. Classic.

But we're all friends here. No need for facepalm after facepalm after vague statement. Just let a guy know how he specifically messed up. XD

Look all you ask is Why Captain Zon have cape? I answer... Why Laora cape? I say. Why Clark "superman" Cent also cape? BECAUSE OF KRYPTON. They belong NOT KRYSHTOL or KRYSTOL Kripton like Donner-verse or Donner-world but NEW FRESH LOOK.. THEY ALL cape. Bara, Laora, Zon and Clark all cape, because they Krypton. Space faring race of all kryptonian crystal hunter who went to Earth in search of Goodness or explore the Human, they show in trailer their bodies... ALL CAPE wearing. It is known as Equal parts of Culture in race heritage mix, OK? This is in centre pompidoo's name that this meant all for all to be comprehendables. YES? GOOD...

Look at Fois vs Laora... Fois no cape, she HU-SHEMAN... HUMAN earthling from Ape... Do Ape wear cape? Do Human wear cape? Only royal guard in English warrior class may wear cape but no one wear cape... Why? She wear beanie, boot and American clothe pieces... BECAUSE SHE's NOT KRYPTON. She Belong to Soil of Sethu Pashtu Earth. This globe of sand has own garb.

Why arab thobe? CUlture... Why Korean wear kimono? CULTURE... why France Peoples wear beret? CULTURE.

RIDICULOUS to ask why All wearing cape who so ever asked. I try to have provide with education and answer to question, it part of their space equal universe and culture IN FILM... CHOSEN BY ZACH SNYDER for not just truth. But to stand that they fight, love and all equal as FROM SAME PLACE... so of course they all cape with armor.

CRAZY, what will those sethus here ask next? Why Colonel Zon has beard? REall? Why ask now? WHy ask if he ghoatee. Snyder is clear influenced by this Master of all that is Kashti... Look at his cunning eyes, his face, the power and shuv hupti of known MAN. The ghoatee provide his scent and essence of Why ZON has ghoatee... think evil but shared culture... From The Human Torch Thread

Look at Fox. Haven't even casted anyone yet and already playing with fire. Pun intended.

If you make Johnny black, obviously Sue has to be black. I can't even begin to discuss ramifications of making Johnny adopted or just making him her figurative "brotha" LOLOLOL.

Anyway. It kinda damages the aesthetic if two of the team members are a different race. I won't condemn the film for just that, but it's not a safe move. It would be safer to make Ben black. As he's in his human form for less time, and then its only one person instead of two.

NO that's not at all what I'm saying. And you are assuming a hell of a lot about my opinions of people because of their skin color. I am saying that PURELY AESTHETICALLY Fox is risking damaging how the audience sees the team.

It has nothing to do with who the actor is or how good he is. It has to do with 80 years of comics that tell me that the team looks one way and casting him another way.

I can't believe how hypersensitive people are about race and image on these forums. It's Shailene Woodley all over again. Ugh.

and another one...

Bingo. You hit the nail on the head as to why it's much more troubling changing an traditionally African-American (other ethnic) character caucasian in comparison to changing a caucasian character into African-American or another ethnicity.

It's all about representation.

Nope. It's a double-standard. Plain and simple.

If Michael B Jordan is cast as Johnny Storm, then I'm boycotting this movie.
