Ok, the filming is coming to and end, and we are already on December, so... the teaser is coming, guys!

In the short wait, I create this thread to post what can we expect from the teaser, and what would we like.

I just hope we get a hint at the main plot and a sense of the style of the film. Because so far I really don't have a clue as to either yet I'm very curious.

I would like it to be short but intriguing and impressive at the same time, without many spoilers or info about the full plot.

Of course a hint about the main characters, but I wouldnt mind to not seeing the look of Beast and Mystique, to keep some mystery for the next months.

I want them to create real interest on the general audience, to let them wanting to see more.

Yeah, usually secrecy has no effect on me, but for a tentpole film like this it's become a worry. I've got this sinking feeling it will be more drama than it is an action-adventure. Which isn't wrong in the least, but also not my ideal cinematic approach to a franchise that's chock full of kinetic intrigue.

for X-Men and X2.I certainly hope they look at the X2 marketing to promate First Class.
X2 had some of the best trailers I saw for a summer film.From the first comic Con preview they had you hooked and ready for the film.

In October Tony Sella (head of domestic marketing at Fox) made a comment about X-Men at a marketing event.

In a half-hour keynote Q&A with Variety group editor Tim Gray, Rothman also pointed out that not long ago, marketing's role started out with the first rough cut of a film; now it begins at the development stage. "You probably shouldn't greenlight a movie if you don't have a marketing campaign for it," he said.

That sentiment was echoed by Fox's Tony Sella, co-prexy and chief creative officer of domestic theatrical marketing. Speaking on the New Creativity panel, which covered how to move from attempting to control marketing campaigns to learning how to influence and make ideas contagious, Sella talked about how savvy filmgoers have become.

"In the world we live in, everybody knows everything," he said. "They know start dates, schedules -- they know what's going on. So if you don't know what you are and define yourself, they will define it for you. With the advent of paparazzi and TMZ, if you're working on an X-Men movie with a huge fanbase, they want to know who's in it, what they're going to like. If you don't proactively design the movie you're making, a paparazzi will take a shot of a costume, it will hit the Internet, and that'll be your first impression."

The marketing timetable has moved from three months ahead of a pic's opening to a year in advance, Sella explained.

Just got back from watching FASTER and the Warrior’s Way. Faster was pretty good and I like the brutality of it. Warrior’s way was ok, it was better than Ninja Assassin except for the end boss fight. Also got participate in a viewing and reviewing of a rough cut of the X-Men First Class trailer. Way too early. That poster on screenrant said he just got to see a working cut of the trailer meaning it isn't finalized meaning that it would have had to have been finalized weeks ago to be with the cut of TRON that are already sitting in theatres.

I also don't think it will be with Gulliver's Travels as a)that movie looks terrible and b)it isn't a big event movie to promote another big event movie.

I was probably exaggerating a bit, but if something doesn't come out before the end of December, why not wait until the Super Bowl? By the beginning of January, the Super Bowl is only a month away (first weekend in Feb) and that would be a huge audience.

The first watch is unique. Hope to be surprised with the tone of the movie and the look of the characters.

I remember when the X3 trailer first appeared online. I couldn't make it past the first shot of the team walking down the hallway. Kept rewinding it and then finally watched the full thing. I was truly in awe...such a geek :p Of course the final product didn't live up to my expectations, but it wasn't incredibly bad either. Just ok.

Eh. Parts I like. Parts make me want to punch cute kittens and babies.

- The trailer opens with the 20th Century Fox logo which pans up as the two spotlight beams cross and form a white "X" on the left of the screen. A white circle goes around the "X" forming the X-Men logo, as Magneto's helmet comes up on the right.
- Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellan voice over the opening lines about destiny and which side will you stand for as scenes of each in their previous X-Men movie roles flash until the entire screen flashes from white to black.
- A very young Xavier and Erik meet for the first time, followed by a different angle of the scene from the opening of X-Men in the concentration camp.
- Camera pans outside of an old castle-style building that greatly resembles the X-mansion. McAvoy and Fassbender are seen walking through the halls. The words "One wanted peace" flash by Xavier.

- Cut scene to what appears to be a red Nightcrawler with swords taking out a room full of people; the close up reveals Azazel's face.

- Havok shoot a red beam of energy (looks almost exactly like cyclops's eye beam, but larger) from his chest (SIDE NOTE: Havok's powers in comics have always had a blue energy).
- It then shows Beast all blue and furry (looking almost exactly like Kelsey Grammer in make-up) in the pilot seat of a crashing jet, followed by several rockets flying towards an island.
- Xavier's face goes all CGI and his head begins to go bald as he mentally pulls a large ship that was sinking out of the water, as well as some smaller boats around it (he's telekinetic now?).
- Back to Xavier (with hair) telling Erik he only wanted peace for him, and he replies there was never a chance for anyone to have that.
- Final scene: Erik picks up a black helmet, then he is shown from behind wearing a black and red suit (no cape or coat though) and the helmet. Screen cuts to black and the X-Men: First Class logo shows up (the one described above), then the release date.

Xavier was always a low level telekinetic. His telepathy is what caused him to go bald...if they say its his TK then i will be satisfied as the strain of lifting a large ship may have exhausted his ability.

no... it would have worked if the rings came out in waves and also moved in fixed angles like a lens flare. He's channels his power through his hands but hasn't always done that in the comics.

They had a cool visual effect of this nature in The Covenant. The movie was pure cheese but the effect was nice. It was a clear tube like rippling that came from their chests and outstretched hands, to show a telekinetic push of sorts. I don't see why you couldn't have the same thing here, only tinged red.

Captain America hasnt a trailer yet, and I think its the same case. work on the special effects.

I think I am most looking forward to the relationship between Xavier and Magneto.

I wan't a big fan of X-Men Origins Wolverine, but the Wolverine/Sabertooth dynamics were spot on IMO and made up for much of the lacking areas.

The Charles/Eric relationship will drive the movie.

After that its Beast and the Hellfire Club.

X-Men were always my favorite comic and I loved the Hellfire Club. Glad they are getting a treatment on screen.

Yeah but after no trailer with Green Hornet...it's pretty apparent that the Superbowl is where they will do it. No big movies are really coming out until March and they would be dumb to start promoting in March. I see a tv spot with the Superbowl and a full trailer with I am Number Four...hopefully. I really don't see why they have held out this long. Sony is smart by already releasing a picture of Spider-Man without a mask to start the fan craze and still leave them salivating for a full picture. Sony is very smart.

Issue # 6: Seeing is believing

There is no widely-available X-Men: First Class trailer as yet. With such a short timespan from Vaughn signing to direct the film to the due delivery date, there has no doubt been a major rush on to get some kind of effects footage together, and most pundits seem to agree that some kind of teaser will play during this year's Super Bowl on 6 February, which would most likely see it emerge online the preceding Friday.

However Fox have been screening a trailer ahead of then, and The Daily Blam has been able to offer a pretty comprehensive description of what goes down in it (which is from where we gleaned some of the above character info). Fans of the previous movies will surely be heartened by the note of continuity struck by having Sirs Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan provide the opening narration, although by the sounds of it there is no sign of anything that might relate to the “dream-space combat” sequence Vaughn felt compelled to amend after watching Inception. Will one of Xavier's sojourns to the astral plane finally be given cinematic realisation? Or have those scenes completely bitten the dust?

Rumour has it that Fox fancies X-Men: First Class as the first in a new trilogy, although there is also a suggestion that Singer has earmarked an X-Men 4 proper for himself. Either way, UK audiences will get the chance to judge Vaughn's movie when it opens on 2 June, with US movie-goers having to wait a further 24 hours to see it.
