Short Term RPG vote-Jan 2011

Welcome all to the inaugural vote for short term RPG's. Every month, they'll be a week long vote as to which of the open shot term games should be the next to be accepted. If and when we reach our maximum number of short term games, voting will be suspended until a game ends and frees up a spot.

This time, four games are up for contention. Voting will remain open until next Friday, at which point, the winning game will be announced.

Now, the voting process is a little different then what you're probably used to. Instead of voting for one game, you'll rank the games you are interested in playing. So, your vote might look like this:

Game A
Game D
Game C
Game B

The reason we're doing it this way is so that, if the game you want loses, your vote will be moved to your second choice, rather than just getting thrown away. And if that loses, then your vote goes to your 3rd choice (and on, and on...)

Also, if you're not interested in playing a game at all, then just leave it off the list. So, if you didn't care about Game D, you're vote might be:

Game C
Game A
Game B

The reason we're doing that is because a game needs a minimum number of players. If only 5 people care about playing in a game, that's probably not enough interest to keep it active.

If you're still a bit confused, don't worry. I'll be showing all the details of the vote with the announcement of the winning game. For now, all you need to do is rank games by which you'd prefer to play them, and leave off a game you're not interested in at all.

I knew I forgot to mention something.

The games that don't get accepted this time are automatically entered into next month's vote (assuming the GM still wants to run it).

So don't feel bad if your game doesn't get started this time. You'll get a month to refine your premise and drum up support. (well, three weeks since I want the votes to take place the first week of every month)

Oh sweet, it says "Next Friday". A date in DATE FORMAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE (for people like me who skim EVERYTHING).

Also, I already put in my vote, and it literally only had Sergio's RPG in it because I'm -really- interested in a Fantasy RPG... it's what I write the best!

But next month, I'll come back to vote for other stuff when I look it over.

Well since my game isn't ready yet(still working out the details with everyone), I doubt it'll win this month.

So, in the first round of voting, the totals of top ranked games are:

Ballad: 4 (11 votes)
Picket: 1 (7 votes)
Multiverse: 6 (11 votes)
Movieverse: 2 (6 votes)

with 13 total votes

Now, since no game got a majority of 1 rankings this round, it's time to drop a game and move onto the next. Now, one of the new rules is that a game needs at least 8 interested players to start. As we can see, two games don't qualify. So, let's eliminate the game with the fewest votes first. Which means those two #1 votes get moved to the players second choices. Round 2 looks like:

Ballad: 5
Picket: 1
Multiverse: 7



At this point, Multiverse has the majority of #1 votes, and is hereby declared our first winner!!!



(btw, if I went to a third round, it would be Ballad: 6, Multiverse: 7)
