This is what I'd do..

I'd release the trailer next week. I'd have it premiere during American Idol. Bam, 30 million people will have seen it. Then Tuesday night right after Idol it would be up on Apple.com in full HD. Then I'd attach it to Big Mama's House, since its a Fox film, and I'd also have it play with I Am Number 4 since it's a closer demo.

Seems logical but only if the FX is really really ready.

BTW, I think the only reason they're still making Big Mama movies is because idiots like me paid to see the original back in 2000 ONLY because the first X-Men trailer was attached to it exclusively. Those where "dial up" days for most and there was really no other good way to see it. That remains the only movie I ever paid to see and then flat out walked out after the coming attractions. It got my money though. Small price to pay to get a glimpse of the X-Men on the silver screen!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't think it's fair, especially because of the amount of talent behind this film. :o

Of course I'm anxious for a trailer or images, but in a way I quite like the absence of stills, clips or whatever. I loved when movies were more mysterious, when they were like those wondreous, unkown, surprising and emotional 2 hours in our lives. Hopefully First Class will bring those feelings back to the X-Men movies. Or movies in general. :awesome:

When you're doing six weeks of reshoots in one location, and the director is simultaneously editing footage in another location, and you don't have enough finished FX footage for a trailer, and all of this is just four months out of release...well, that's not a good sign.

I'm not making any statements about the quality of the finished production (because, obviously, no one can) but production on this movie is being so obviously rushed and clearly rife with problems that it's more than fair to have low expectations about the film.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe the claims of Vaughn not actually being on set were ever substantiated. I don't see how you can call this film "obviously rushed" and "rife with problems" because we, in fact, know very little about it (which I find quite refreshing in this day and age).

Keep in mind, in terms of reshoots and FX footage, Vaughn is a perfectionist. He was making tweaks and changing various things on Kick-Ass up until a week before the film's release.

the problem with some people and haters on the net is that they believe EVERYTHING they read on blogs and superheroes sites, with their "source" of the day.

Matthew Vaugh, Singer and the whole crew are a Proffesional crew, so to think they are doing a bad job, without working on the own or after watching the film itself, its absolutely unfair and stupid.

The trailer for the superhero reboot X-Men: First Class goes up tomorrow, with Fox is releasing it in on Facebook as part of an effort to build a social networking community around the film, opening June 3. The fan page can be found at Facebook.com/XMenMovies, and it’s already 1.6 million wannabe-mutants strong.

The trailer will offer fans a first look at the younger years of Professor X and his team of superpowered pupils. The movie, directed by Kick-Ass filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, stars James McAvoy (Atonement) and Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) in the Professor X and Magneto roles, respectively. Mad Men‘s January Jones co-stars as Emma Frost, the ultra-sexy Marvel Comics telepath known for her revealing white outfits and diamond-skin armor.

There are many questions surrounding the movie, and a big one can be asked about this mysterious new photo from Fox, released exclusively to EW. Obviously it’s Magneto — but where is he, and what’s he thinking?

My guess: “What kind of lair doesn’t have furniture? I better make an Ikea run.”

Again, I think this is going to be the sleeper hit of the summer. Everyone's knocking it. But, after Kick-Ass and bring Singer back into the fold, it seems that X-Men will return to some respectability after Origins and X3.

I mean, Vaughn and Singer are too talented to let this one be bad. Even with the time constraints, I just don't see them screwing this up.

what I like is that it seems the beach fight scene wont be the final fight of the movie.....

so the final fight can be even bigger and on another place, hopefully on some city, or in the streets.

I've been on this film since it was announced that Singer was back and Vaughn was directing.

Yeah, I wish they had more time to do the film but Fox must've really loved the idea/script Singer had in place for them to greenlight this film this fast, compared to when it was originally suppose to be released (2012). They saw SOMETHING that caught their attention in a big way.

And getting Fassbender to play young Magneto is an absolute coup...one of the most spot on casting decisions in recent memory....

I'm really liking the feel of the film from all of the images released, excluding the poorly cobbled together promo shot. Even from the costume pictures, we can see an evolution of Magneto's character. Here's to hoping the trailer tomorrow will provide a bit more insight into how everything will play out.

Uh, I don't know who you're talking about, but I know that many of the people who had positive things to say this evening have had an overall positive outlook on this film for quite some time. Just because a bunch of people share a positive outlook doesn't mean by any means that we're all on some blind bandwagon. I've been positive about this film since the beginning. As have most of the people.

My sincerest condolences for your loss of your beloved James "Logan/Wolverine" Howlett from this film. May you one day cope with this loss and be able to enjoy an X-Men film without him. :csad:

Though I do like the overall design of this poster/logo they really messed it up and not many people will notice that they did.

The text warping in 'Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters' is too low at the top. I mean it's not a huge deal.. but it is kinda sloppy on Fox's part.

With that being said, I am curious to see the trailer tomorrow and see how it all turns out.

Frankly, I just want to have an X-Men trilogy that works. I've been waiting for 8 years. We were denied the perfect comic book trilogy by the management at Fox and I see this film as an opportunity to correct Fox's stupid decision to not retain Singer to finish what he started.

Granted, he's not directing this thing but he has a hand in this thing and I know it must've killed him a little to see what's become of the universe he started.

Hopefully, with Vaughn's talent and drive, the universe's course will be righted.

I think Singer's hand was quite heavy in this project. And, for that, I am thankful. Not that I don't like Vaughn, because I definitely do. I think the collaboration of the two is exactly what the franchise needs to get a film of Singer's quality, but with a bit more edge and action. I can't wait.

While Vaughn's film has the potential to be good on the level of the trilogy, and I hate to break it to anyone that didn't know already, it won't even scratch the surface of what Darren Aronofsky will unveil next year.

Vaughn's a decent director and an improvement to the franchise. Aronofsky is a cosmic phenomenon.

Agreed, I mean i'm pessimistic about movies anyway, but the X-franchise especially I havent been confident in since Singer left, when Singer came back and Vaughn came on board, that confidence started to creep back in, I hope tomorrow it will be in full 'just before X2 came out' mode tomorrow.

I loved Kick Ass so Matthew Vaughn has my faith. I don't think it will be funny like Kick Ass as it was a parody but you can't deny that the action in Kick Ass was very very well done and so were the characters.

Didn't work for me at all, dude. It was almost an ode to what not to do in a comic book movie, parody or not, and the action was too over the top for me to enjoy. Chloe Moretz who I normally love, I couldn't stand and Nick Cage who had just blown me away in Herzog's brilliant retelling of The Bad Lieutenant put me right back to disliking him for being in it :csad:

Disagree with you on this. I really felt the low budget. The fire that burned Nick Cage was pretty (obvious) bad cg. Then there's the way they chose to portray blood and the stuff on the jetpack...I really felt the low budget :csad:

Its not a bad film but, not a great film either. Its got a 76 percent on RT which makes it a "C" (I think). I just didn't follow the logic of the piece and felt that Vaughn, like in alot of the interviews he's done for First Class, made it out to be too gratuitously violent. For people that want violence and no depth to a story that works very well, but not for me.

...and the idea that Kick-Ass has no depth doesn't work at all. The film is all about shut up and do something. That's the entire character arc. The jetpack sequence is the visual payoff of the entire theme of the picture.

There's tons of "visual payoffs" in the entire movie though. People exploding in microwaves, the scene with the drug-dealers, every action sequence...I mean, even if it was supposed to be comedic or absurd, where's the depth in a film like that? I didn't find any more depth in Kick-Ass than I found in The Other Guys. McLovin in a superhero costume. That pretty much killed any chance of the film being more than a comedy for me and even some comedies have great depth.

He really did. Kick Ass was a great movie as was Layer Cake and Stardust, more so Layer Cake and Kick Ass though.

Disagree with you on this. I really felt the low budget. The fire that burned Nick Cage was pretty (obvious) bad cg. Then there's the way they chose to portray blood and the stuff on the jetpack...I really felt the low budget :csad:

I know I'm late to the party but I thought I'd point out that the fire was definitely real just how it is filmed makes it look fake. Anyways, back on to topic that Magneto pictures makes me want to do very dirty things to myself. Can't wait til the trailer

Agree totally. Kick Ass was a quaint little film but nothing special. Watching it at the theatre, I found myself wishing for a fast-forward button but still managed to care where the story was going. The story still finishes in a shallow and unbelievable way but I have to admit that I was entertained. Vaughn did a good job given the source material.

I also believe he was the right choice for X-Men at this point. Can't wait to see the trailer.

Emma in diamonds, yes. Shaw doing something would be cool. But #1 is to see Magneto in costume if only for a split second, like Skull in the Captain America spot. Just enough time to get a nice HD wallpaper.

Kick-Ass is a great film and had more character development then X3 and XMOW combined. I can understand not liking the film for the violent aspect but its well made and showed Vaughn can handle comic adaptions well. I think its his best film and cant wait to see what he will do with XFC. Bring the trailer!!!!
