Oh totally. They even mention the Tesseract in it. I think Averngers is Loki + Red Skull and Hydra. Maybe even Justin Hammer?

God, could you imagine Loki strikes a deal with Hyrda. Hydra seeks the aid of Hammer to help put together an army and frees Abomination. Hydra also sets out to find the infinity gems (or maybe just one depending on if Loki already has most of them). Loki uses Hulk to distract the Avengers. In the credits, Thanos somehow gets wind that the gems are all found.

Would make my day.

Anyway, the new batch of spoilers has me totally geeked, especially to see these superhuman feats I've been wishing for with Thor.

Oooooo..that bit of info puts a scale to Thor's power level...Volstagg one hands a car, and yet the Warriors Three and Sif are beaten by Destroyer, but Thor once he regains his power defeats Destroyer!

My favorite part with Volstagg:

VOLSTAGG
Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. Surely you’ve heard tales of Hogun
the Grim, Fandral the Dashing, and I, Volstagg the Svelte?

Selvig looks pointedly at Volstagg’s massive gut.

VOLSTAGG (CONT’D)
Well, perhaps I’ve put on a little more muscle since I was here last.

That would have been a thousand years ago? Northern Europe?

I'm still wondering though; assuming the spoilers are accurate; then

how does Thor get back to earth for the Avengers if he's stuck in Asgard by the end of his own film? They already have enough to deal with regarding reviving Capt, introducing the main villains, and getting them all together.

To my understanding, this was an early draft. Because...The outline that I've yet to show anyone was said to be from the final script. And in it, Thor says he wants to come back to earth because we humans are brittle and need to here more from him.

But you never know where The Avengers will pick up from, whether it's on Asgard or earth.

Chewy
01-28-2011, 05:27 PM
It's not an early draft. It may not be the *final* draft, but these revisions are dated in March and they started shooting in January. This is a mid-production version of the script.

marvel_freshman
01-28-2011, 05:34 PM
Well, yeah just not final. It doesn't even have the writers' (who I've spoken with) credits on the first page like all script should have.

Whoever leaked it probably didn't include the first page as it would have had their name printed on it

marvel_freshman
01-28-2011, 05:59 PM
If that's the case, then the leaker would have to be Marvel's own. But you never know. I just like to point something interesting from the script, that's pointed out in the trailer.

When we see Thor fall to earth, in the trailer, Thor says Oh no, this is earth isn't it?. Making it seems like that is the first thing Thor says after landing on earth. But from reading that script, that cut scene actually takes place after Thor escapes the hospital, after getting hit again by Jane. You can see hes wearing hospital threads when he says it in the trailer.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Sorry dude. I doubt Thor summons a tornado to attack the Destroyer right in the middle of the town. It would destroy it. Possibility of him creating wind? Sure. Yet when I heard about Volstag's feat of strength, that scene with the car immediately came to mind.

Aye, it's for the better anyway. Really stoked for this movie, I liked the way they handled everything in the script.

One thing tho: I find the humour in some scenes a bit excessive, specially the action ones. In the end it all matters on the way they are delivered so I'm not one to judge yet.

I thought he said "these are not mere virtues" but his accent kind of swallowed the "are" into little more than a tiny pause between "these" and "not."

Yeah, he doesn't just get a mention though, he's pretty important in the scene he appears in.

Adriana Baraza talks Thor: (run through Google translate)
The artist will next appear in "The toadies", inspired by a popular television series in Colombia, and the movie "Thor, "directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman.

(In "Thor") I have a small role, which has only two scenes," she said modestly. "But I was very happy to be part of this movie. It gave me the opportunity to see what you do, no matter how small it is, try to do what it is, something very important, great. "

I wouldn't call what Heimdall gets a "fight scene" but it's a pretty cool scene for him regardless.

I really liked the script. There were a few aspects I didn't care for (as someone else mentioned, the humor seems a bit forced/excessive at points), but overall, it definitely exceeded my expectations. It did leave me wondering how the hell they're gonna pull off a few of these scenes with their budget, but hey, that just gives me something to look forward to in May.

Hmmm...I think it's a little early to say since some of the fights are less "grounded in reality" than IM and TIH and use magic/magical weapons, so they'll be relying on a lot more CGI and imagination. But I will say there are two major ones that contain a great deal of straight-forward combat which could be potentially great.

I'd have to agree with this Flickchick as well. The Script doesn't go into GREAT detail from what we've heard from the rumors of those who've had a sneak peek of the film, the Script is not as detailed as some of those rumors.
Even still, with what IS in the script you can tell the fight scenes will be alittle better....there are more people INVOLVED in them. :D

In a way what Nuffsaid just related, you can't go COMPLETELY by what in the script. It works both ways, there can be things IN the script that don't show up in the film, and there can be action scenes that might not have been added at the time this script was written.

This question goes out to Vartha or to any of the other lucky script reviewers. Were their any examples of Thor using superhuman strength other than when he had his hammer. My fear is they are going to give the impression that the hammer is all that Thor has going for him.
I've waited so long for this movie, I'm just praying that they get Thor right (he's pretty awesome without the hammer too).

It may have been intentional by Loki. Not that it happened mid-sentence, but that it happened mid-ceremony. He knew that it would enrage Thor and he could convince him to go to Jotunheim.

Well, actually we start the movie with Odin being doubtful of Thor's capability of making a good king. It's because he's near Odin Sleep that he is rushed into making him king - he needs someone to take over for when he's sleeping.

So actually, what really starts all this plot forward is Odin's impending sleepy fate :cwink:

Between sneaking off to get his beach time in and making guest appearances on other television series -- he can be seen next on the February 17th episode of CSI titled "Targets of Obsession" -- Dallas is carefully wading through feature film offers. This summer, movie goers around the world will see him bring to life the popular comic book character Fandral of The Warriors Three in Marvel Studios' cinematic adaptation Thor. The role of Fandral wasn't always his, though; it was originally awarded to Stuart Townsend who parted with the production for unknown reasons days before the camera were set to role. Dallas wasn't just at the right place at the right time to step into the character's boots; he impressed the filmmakers so much during his audition the role was offered to him almost immediately.

"I came on to the project quite late in the game, 4 days to be exact. I had just arrived into LA from London were I was shooting a drama with Nick Frost. I got a call from the casting directors on THOR [Tamara Notcutt and Randi Hiller] asking if I would come and meet with heads of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito and Director Ken Branagh. Thirty minutes after the meeting, I was offered the role and they told me to get back down to the studio as soon as possible. This was a Thursday evening and I started shooting Monday morning!

"So that whole weekend was about costume fittings, meeting the other actors, discussions with Ken and stunt calls to learn one of the biggest fight sequences in the movie. It was certainly a baptism by fire!" With hardly any time to prep for part before the cameras began to role, Joshua was facing another slight problem: getting to known the other two members of the inseparable Warriors Three, Ray Stevenson (Volstagg) and Tadanobu Asano (Hogun). "Because I came on to the picture late we had no time to bond before starting to shoot, so we had to create that chemistry instantly. It wasn't hard. Both Ray and Tad are such great guys and actors. There might have been a few... late night parties after that first week... just to deepen the bond. But I'm not saying anything."

On a production this large, literally hundreds of key players are swarming the sets throughout the day performing every task from lighting changes to catering to fixing last minute wardrobe malfunctions. But even through all the commotion, Marvel staffers kept their presence known and lent a hand to the actors bring the beloved comic characters to life. "Co-Producer Craig Kyle was on set with us everyday, these stories and characters are so close to him. He was totally invaluable to us on set. He knows the comics -- and not just THOR but all Marvel comics backwards and forwards. [He's] a connoisseur. We could go to him if we wanted to know more history of the characters or maybe how they would respond in a certain situation.

"We also had a couple of days when Walt Simonson was with us on set. He said to me "You look perfect and you sound perfect...You're Fandral!" That's all I needed! He drew me an amazing picture of Fandral that's framed in my office along with the kick ass poster of THOR Olly Moss designed."

Dallas didn't just rely on the guidance of others to help him embody the dashing warrior; he took it upon himself to create a live-action interpretation of the character that was largely inspired by the great Errol Flynn. "I certainly used Errol flynn and the comics. The whole character of Fandral in the comics was inspired around Errol Flynn. I think I watched all his movies, "Captain Blood and The Sea Hawk," "The Adventures of Robin Hood" and "The Charge of the Light Brigade" in particular. Flynn had this reputation as a dashing Lothario and party animal -- much like Fandral -- and Flynn was a master at sword fights so I wanted to capture a bit of [his] finesse and pace, not only in Fandrals character but also in his fighting style. And with all that finesse in his sword play, I also wanted Fandral to be more brutal and ferocious. He is a warrior after all."

The Warriors Three -- Fandral, Volstagg and Hogun -- are known for offering a relaxed and many times humorous presence in the comics as well as being the fiercest fighters in Asgard. This tone definitely translates to the film, but Joshua wants to remind fans that "comedic relief" isn't their primary purpose. "They are warriors first and foremost. I think that's where we all started and then let the characters individual personalities mix together. I still haven't seen a final cut so anything can happen, but there was definitely a lot of charm with the Warriors Three in the script and I think they have a lot charisma as characters. Especially once the story brings us to Earth.

"Then it becomes about these Asgardian Gods coming to contemporary Earth and looking completely out of context. It's great! This is an epic story. So there is a lot to get into and many characters to meet along the way. We're starting at the very origins of Thor and his family and The Warriors Three are right by his side, forever loyal. What drew me in is that [this is] a movie that already has a huge fan base. To be part of a project that already has an audience that is so excited about the material before it even comes out, is a very intoxicating thing. Also, Fandral's not a bad guy to live with for 5 1/2 months." When asked to pick only three words to describe his portrayal of Fandral, Joshua keep it clear and concise: "Philandering, devoted, warrior."

...

Though Thor fans didn't get to see much of Dallas' Fandral in the first trailer which was released last year, pretty soon there will be plenty of promotional material and new footage showcasing his mustached visage. Not only that, but a few lucky fans may even get to take special Thor keepsake home. "Check this out: I was just sent a hundred trading cards of Fandral to sign that will be placed randomly in packs of THOR trading cards from UPPER DECK. How cool is THAT! I get to play a superhero, get an action figure and have trading cards. My boyhood dreams are coming true!"

Concerning the interview with the Fandral actor I especially like the part where he talks about being a warrior first in the movie. I care more about fighting scenes than jokes. :woot:

I hope the teaser trailer from Superbowl will come up the next days. I am really excited!

Found the new Thor figures in one auction on ebay.com:

Here are some points from the article you guys who collect Hot Toys might be interested in -

Unlike most previous Hot Toys releases, they are trying to release the Thor figure around the same time when the movie launches.
Odin (Anthony Hopkins) is planned to be the next figure in line
.They may consider doing different versions of Thor, but will wait to see how well this first one sells.
They say It's very unlikely that they will do a civilian version of Thor.

heh MAN I wish I could afford one.

A separate thread would probably be a good idea. I'm a sucker for spoilers, but I'd feel pretty bad ruining anything for someone trying to avoid big reveals.

Edit: I see this has been taken care of

Yeah I care about the fight scenes FAR more than I care about the jokes.

I really hope the Superbowl spot does come out on Friday or Saturday, with the full trailer #2 coming out sometimes next week.

Side kick? Its NOT Black Widow huh? Looks like she might be a full fledged Avenger so Fury needs another one.

Thats kind of what its looking like. Widow and Hawkeye both will probably be Avengers.

Why else would Fury need another hot right hand woman? We also know they wanted a female Avengers member or two. Since Pym's not in it i'm not sure we'll see Wasp either. Who else would it be?

BW was wearing a Shield uniform? That has nothing to do with whether she might be an Avenger when it comes out though.

I'm speculating based off of SLJ saying he was testing with some new possible female sidekicks (for Avengers).

It COULD just be another female right hand agent. Just sounds funny to me. Who else is going to be the female Avenger if not BW? She makes the most sense the way they are setting things up.

I could totally see Fury wanting her and Clint in the Avengers to help "manage" them and report back to him. Not to mention help train then to work as a team.

I'm just speculating regardless.

Yeah I'm not totall disagreeing with you, I'd just prefer Black Widow as a shield agent than an Avengers member.

I also noticed that Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man are the only Avengers being promoted as such (not even Hulk).

I have noticed the Thor/Cap/Iron Man promotion as well. Its looking more and more like Hulk might be an adversary. Why not promote him with the team if not right? They have said there would be more Avenger members but maybe they wont join till later on in the movie, even the end.

Maria Hill?
That was my first thought. A bit ironic, since the comics' version of Hill was appointed Fury's successor specifically because she wasn't part of his inner circle, but that's not really a big deal for the movies.

Could also be Sharon Carter or the Contessa, I guess. They used the Contessa for that Hasselhoff movie, right?

I absolutely agree with you. The US poster is much better. I think the combination between the grey colour and the red cape is amazing.
