She always looks great, but I think she should be a little heavier. Muscle heavier, or just a big heavier, but I think she would look better if she did put on some weight. Lately she has gotten too skinny. Kind of like Jennifer Connelly, she use to be kind of curvy and as she ages she has gotten skinnier, and it doesn't make her look better.

I don't think she will get back to that kind of shape either but it would be nice if she just looked a little thicker. She still looks great, but I would imagine it would be even easier for her to stay a little thicker than to stay so skinny.

I'm not even a fan of this chick and I want to shed tears on pure principle looking at a lot of these pics. She looks so emaciated and straight up unhealthy down to the veiny bags under her eyes that it's truly sad to see.
I agree! I totally think she's overrated anyway, don't get what's the big deal with her, nor find her that hot.

Brad and Angelina had previously stated they would NOT get married until gay people could get married too -- but admitted their children were pressuring them to tie the knot.When it comes to the looks of Angelina, I must say like many others in this thread: Her obvious loss of weight the latest years doesn't do her any good. She's so classy and elegant when it comes to chosing dresses and clothing for these photoshoots. And those big beautiful eyes together with that gorgeous smile will always be spectacular.

But those skinny bones is not the Angelina Jolie I used to adore. And this is not some kind of "she's getting old" bullcrap, because that's not the deal, she's just lost too much weight lately to look healthy to me.

I definitely don't miss Angelina with a fatter face.
I am not one of thee women who screams anorexia whenever a chicks thighs dong touch. But I do think Angelina looked best during her Lara Croft and Alexander days; she just kind of appears worn down lately. But Angelina worn down is still a lot better than half the female population.

Good for her - she got educated and made her choice. It's hard to go under the knife for a preventative measure, especially when her career is highly influenced on her looks, but she feels like she's done all she could to make sure she's around for her children, and that's the most important thing.

It's likely that her daughters will have to go through the same thing though. :csad: Hopefully we'll have figured out gene replacement therapy by then....

I only say this cause my facebook feed has dozens of people seemingly under the impression that they has given up "everything". Now I'm not going to assume it's easy or not brave for someone to A. step up and cut their female parts out. B. Announce it to the world. But have the women in hollywood have fake boobs already(though it's not the same entirely). I just think there are some people under the impression that Jolie is gonna be that woman that walks around flat chested as an example to others, and enter the sainthood hall of fame.
There are just so many reasons not too.

I'm glad she used her celebrity to bring light to the situation. I also see many females on my fb asking themselves when the last time they had themselves checked.

While the preventative surgery sounds incredibly severe, I can only imagine that it was a major decision undertaken by Angelina, her family and her physician(s) that was not treated lightly.

I dont like the woman, but very brave of her not only to make the decision but also sharing it with the world. Many women are going through this, so it's always nice to see focus on this issue. Hopefully this just nips breast cancer in the butt for her, so she can enjoy a long happy life with her family without worrying about it again.

My one hope is that they can come up with a better alternative to treat this genetic predisposition that doesnt require for a woman to remove her breasts. Cancer, in general, just needs to be cured, period. So many have lost their lives because of it :csad:

I work in cancer research. If there's hush money, my coworkers and I would LOVE to see it. :o

Truth is, there's still a lot of things we need to test. We DO have the ability to replace genes in a living cell, but all the possible side effects on an adult human are unknown, and whether it'll work at all on an adult is also unknown. You don't want to cause another deadly illness when you're trying to treat one...

Her doctors posted everything they did leading up to the surgery and everything.

Stage 1: Patients carrying the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutations have up to an 87 percent lifetime chance of developing breast or a 54 percent chance of ovarian cancer. In Jolie's case, given her mother and grandmother both passed away from ovarian cancer (her mother had breast cancer as well), she underwent genetic testing to determine if she had the faulty gene.

Stage 2: According to Funk, this stage involves regular monitoring of the breasts every three months, which includes Mammograms, a clinical breast exam, a Breast MRI, along with self breast examinations.

Stage 3: Having been diagnosed with a BRCA mutation, the Oscar winner had to decide whether to commit to having the mastectomy. That included discussing with her doctor her family situation and whether she planned to have kids (in Angie's case, the latter was moot since she's already got six).

Stage 4: This stage saw Jolie make some crucial decisions, like whether or not to preserve her nipples and, if so, whether to perform a painful "nipple delay" procedure. They also had to determine where the incision would be placed, and what kind of reconstruction will be done (implants versus flaps, for example). In Jolie's case, Funk said her body was "best suited" to implants with allograft, which are "synthetic sheets of material that create a more natural look." The thesp also went with tissue expanders, which required an additional operation but which maximizes blood flow to the breast skin and, per the physician, "allow us to optimize the final implant size, location and appearance."

Stage 5: Jolie underwent the first procedure, the nipple delay, on Feb. 2, and aside from some slightly bruised skin, she returned to her regular activities. On Feb. 16, Jolie had the double mastectomy, which went smoothly and saw the first stage of breast reconstruction performed with the placement of tissue expanders with allograft.

Funk notes that "recovery reflects expectation" and that Jolie was not only "in good spirits with bountiful energy" but was already hard at work going over storyboards for her next directing project, just four days after the operation. After being given injections of saline into her expanders, the final reconstruction surgery occurred on April 27.

You know, kudos to her (and all the other women out there who have done this) for getting beyond superficiality and other motivators and doing what they felt needed to be done for their health. There is no shame in it.

God forgive me...

But I don't understand why this woman feels the need to constantly make a spectacle of herself and everything she does. She is not the first celebrity to undergo a double mastectomy and (sadly) probably won't be the last either. I'm sorry, but I can't help but feel like this is yet another one of her attention grabs.

Oh well. If it helps even one woman somewhere make a life-saving decision, it's definitely worth it.
