Natalie Portman. I've seen many films with her, but never has she been more beautiful, in a simple way, than in this film. She had an earthly, very natural beauty and charisma.
Raiden
04-28-2011, 02:26 PM
All of them are great. I think Natalie got the prettiest face, Jaime has the best body, Kat is the cutest, and Rene still looks as great as she was in Thomas Crown Affair. Hard to pick just one, but if I must do so I'll probably pick Natalie over Jaime by a slim margin.
BigThor

I say Kat has the best body with the least attractive face, Natalie has the best face with a pretty flat body, and Jaimie has pretty face with a pretty nice body.
So I say Jaimie is the most attractive overall ;)
Or maybe just imagine that if I ever was able to have a harem, they'd fit the bill for any occassion.

Dennings has that soft voluptuous look and I really dig that sometimes. Other times I'd dig Alexander, who's more of a fit hardbody. Portman really only has a beautiful face for the most part. She's just ok in the body dept.

Well I think one of the reason's she switched was the way KFC killed Chickens, and the way Cattle were herded to slaughter around the same time, both were all over the news back then.
She just stopped eating fish just before x-mas.

I stopped eating meat when I was ten for about a year. Mostly it was because every time I ate a burger or chicken or whatever I ended up biting into a small piece of bone or ligament or fish scale or something else which killed the texture for me and I just became too wary of it all. But I got over it.

Jaimie Alexander and Kat Dennings are curvy and gorgeous women. But Natalie has a special something to her gamine appearance that makes up for no curves. It doesn't hurt she has a gorgeous face. But lastly, Portman strikes me as incredibly smart and intellectual.

I hope so. I hope the other warriors are in it too. Especially whats his name 'Robin Hood' haha. I can't remember his name but lol.
My fave scene is when Thor talks to Jane about where he's from. Then again, there's more but I can't remember much of them, except for the part when they kiss. Very nice... and convincing. Even though the portal machine thing is broken, I hope Thor somehow gets to see her again.
As for Sif, I read her backstory where she has feelings for Thor and well...its kinda weird when it involves Jane. ...

heh yeah Fandral. I KNEW Warriors III would get alot of laughs, They really worked well with Sif. Normally the four of them aren't together to often in the comics, it was refreshing to see them together like that.
Yeah Sif while still being a friend to Thor in the comics when they were younger, she just found Thor too abrasive. After he'd been banished and Thor learned humility, those feelings changed for Thor, BUT, Thor found Earth more interesting than Asgard and Sif just couldn't comprehend that.

As much as I would have preferred to see Jane Foster over a potential Pepper Potts cameo in the Avengers, Natalie is reported to have confirmed that she will NOT be in the Avengers in anyway....so story wise, it would have MADE much more sense for Jane to be in there considering where they left her off at the end of Thor.

Although some people aren't really into the romance aspects of the film, I found myself a fan of how it was presented (the romance between Thor and Jane) in the film.
Tbh, I wish that we would see Jane in a small but effective Cameo in the Avengers so that we wouldn't have to wait 2-3 years to see them reunite.
I mean, even though she won't be in it, i assume that by the end of the film, Thor will make his intentions known that he plans on meeting up with her in NM after his business with the Avengers is done.
Be that as it may, I'm surprised that the treated Frigga as Thor's real mother in this film, I mean granted, that I've heard that Thor went through most of his life thinking that Frigga was his birth mother, but even a short clip revealing that she's just his stepmother would have been something that I would have thought to exist in the film.
TheCorpulent1
05-12-2011, 11:01 AM
Bit of an unnecessary complication, really. The fact that Thor is the son of Odin and Gaea wouldn't have had much of an impact on anything in this film. Maybe they'll reveal it later on, as some kind of justification for Thor prioritizing Earth over Asgard or feeling such a deep connection to humans even after he regains his godhood or something.

Be that as it may, I'm surprised that the treated Frigga as Thor's real mother in this film, I mean granted, that I've heard that Thor went through most of his life thinking that Frigga was his birth mother, but even a short clip revealing that she's just his stepmother would have been something that I would have thought to exist in the film.Actually, in Thor #301 where he met his birth mother, Gaea, he said he always knew that Frigga was not his real mother. However, Odin forbid the subject of Thor's mother even being discussed. I don't know if they made Frigga his real mother in the movie or not.

I'm not going to comment on how hypocritical some of these reasons to be vegetarians are, so I'll just say that I prefer Portman to all of them.
Though  for including Russo. Also, remember that Hitler was a vegetarian as well. Yet he was responsible for millions of deaths.

Jaimie and Natalie. Both were pretty good in their roles.

I almost forgot about this thread, anyways, after seeing this film I have to say that Kat Denning's "hotness" was definately toned down in the movie.

Now that here naked breast are available to the masses of the intranets I wonder if she'll consider doing nude scenes or if it'll affect her like those paparazzi shots affected Natalie Portman who is now very much against doing it because of all those damned perverts who'd dare look past the art of it all and just want to fap! Damned them all to hell I say!

I was pretty suprised at how flat Natalie Portman's ass is now that I think about it, especially in the scene where they were in her "lab" discussion Thor's arrival on earth.
She was wearing some pretty tight blue pants and I was like "wtf? where is her butt"?

Honestly it isn't a film to really get aroused by, sure there is a lot of potentially erotic stuff if you isolate it from the context, but the movie is a twisted ride into a shattered psyche.

Seems like Thor and Iron Man are the luckiest guys out of the Avengers group, since their films have had more attractive women/characters starring in it than any other Avenger has had in their own solo films thus far.lol

True, but then again, the only other Avenger with a film besides Thor and Iron Man is Hulk.

I've never been able to get further than 10 minutes through an Aronofsky film. The man is boredom personified. Granted, I've only tried twice(The Wrestler, The Fountain).

It HAD to be toned down for her to get the part, she had to look "NERDY". Kat almost didn't get the part because she wasn't nerdy enough.

Well, Aronofsky is one of my favorite directors and I enjoyed watching all his films. I highly recommend giving Black Swan or Pi(his debut film) a shot. Requiem for a Dream is also a good movie but I can't watch it more than twice because it was so goddamn depressing.
Anyway, I'm just suggesting some of his films because I believe he is one of the best directors working today and sometimes I get very emotional from watching his films. But it's fine by me if you don't like his works.

The thing is, I really can't honestly tell you if those two I saw were good or bad movies(I suspect bad though based on the little that I did see) since I couldn't get very far into them. That's pretty rare, actually. I mean some films do put me to sleep and I need to try several times to get through them(Superman Returns, Tron Legacy). But with these I knew I was never going to bother returning to complete the viewing.
One film being that way I might have granted him as maybe just being a fluke but BOTH? After trying with those two, I'm frankly afraid to even try another of his films again. I hate having my time wasted so it may be a very, very long time before I give one of his films a shot again.

Don Payne created the character as sort of an audience surrogate/everyman type (ok not exactly those, but they sort of lead to what she is for), a normal person to ask the questions and inject the input somebody who isn't an astrophysicist or a god would have. So they sorta alienated her for that reason I think, while keeping her a little nerdy to fit her into that environment.

Well Black Swan is more "genre" than his other films. It has elements of horror, psychodrama, erotica, and is just very melodramatic (in a good way). So you may like it better than the other films...maybe not. I recommend you watch the first 10-20 minutes and if it is a turn off for you like the others...well that's too bad. Just skip to the last 10-15 minutes then. ;) :awesome:
....because they are amazing.

If you think the Wrestler is a boring movie it's because you'd rather watch popcorn flicks. It has more raw emotion and "reality" than pretty much any other non academy award movie. More than most nominees now that they've expanded the field to allow mainstream garbage into the noms to get interest.
As for the women of Thor, Portman sucked. I've never really liked her. Black Swan played up to her strengths, saying that makes her a great actress doesn't pass with me. A great actor will do well regardless and Portman, in what should have been an easy role for her, did not do a good job at all. She hurt this movie. Hemmsworth, Hopkins, Huddleson, were all great. Effects were above average, story, minus the love stuff was good. Portman really REALLY hurt this movie. If I think of all the scenes I disliked, they all have Portman.

I wouldn't know since it failed to hold my interest, which is something I require of a film. I got about to the point where he was taping up his hands or arms or whatever and putting a razor in there and that's about when my patience was fed up and I changed the channel.
All Portman had to do to win me over in this film was look good and act like every other thought going through her head involved doing the nasty w/ Chris.
