Skrull Speculation and hopes

It's seems pretty much the majority of you believe or hope the Skrulls will be the other big villains in the Avengers other than Loki. What are some of your hopes and expectations?

For me, if the Skrull rumor holds true then I at least hope the writers don't go the cheesy route and have the skrulls impersonate other members of the team (at least not exclusively). To me that would be as much a cheat as Spidey 3 when instead of creating a sleek (no web design), black and white, classic look for the black costume the FX people just painted his original costume black.

My hopes are that the Skrulls impersonate other non-super powered, main stream Marvel Universe characters like General Ross, Jonah Jameson, or even Matt Murdock. Just to bring the MU closer together.

I also hope the look will be derived from the comics and not some all new creation (don't want to end up disappointed again like with the Galactus Smog).

Also give them powers other than just changing into people so that maybe some of the more powerful ones could fight against the heroes and in groups even give them a hard time.

Agreed. I think they should also have a hint of the Skrull home world.

Other than shape shifting I don't think the Skrulls actually have powers. They do posses awesome technology though.

They wouldn't be able to turn into other marvel characters that aren't under property under Marvel Studios. Matt Murdock and John Jameson are from Fox and Sony.

I liked how it led to the chaotic webbing on Venom though.

Anyway, I think the proportions on that image are too human. Something like this would be amazing.

Why does everyone assume that Skrulls will be in the Avengers? Where did that rumor come from?

A long long time ago, it was some article claiming that The Skrulls and Loki would be the big bads, I can't even remember where exactly.

You can't trust a stinkin' Skrull. They double cross each other. I kind of hope they just introduce them in with the knowledge of a Galactic War going on. They definitely must be intelligent and have advanced tech with the ability to augment certain warrior Skrulls.

Well theres been a ton of other articles since then and it is all we've had to go on, soooooo we just discuss what may happen, it could be some other Alien race or whatever but I guess we will need more details.

That's what I'm talkin' bout. I believe having them intelligent and somewhat civil lends itself to have Skrulls appear in future MU movies and maybe one big MU invasion. Probably a bit much but one can hope.

I'd like to add a thought I had....

One aspect of the supposed leaked script description I kinda liked

Where Loki doesn't Summon the Skrulls just uses the Skrulls want of the Cosmic Cube to get them to invade earth. It makes a big difference to the story because being summoned randomly and just be mindless pawns, and actually having a motive to attack earth albeit due to Loki's treachery could be made an interesting plot point. Think kind of like how Loki tricked the Frost Giants.

I think the Skrulls have made other enemies in the MU since they first tangled with the FF, so it would be okay to use them in the Avengers.

so the skrulls, since they weren't summoned by loki, could have some sort of secret invasion thing going. like Maria hill, or son of coul, whatever, after credits scene, look in a mirror then become skrulls. or i dunno

I would think that the Avengers would need some kind of a army, or GROUP of foes to face against, since as threatening as Loki is, he just doesn't provide the physical "factor" that would allow all of the confirmed avengers to participate in some physical battle.

Super Skrull could be used and it would be a nice nod to the F4 without crossing any Copy Right laws. I dont believe fox actually has the rights to the Super Skrull but Marvel has the rights to all of its race. Thats like Sony having the rights to Venom but not the symbiote. Any Who They could use The Power Skrull too wich would be a nod to the X-Men. Super Skrull is one of my favorite characters so i would love to see him pop up.
Oh and i would say that the Skrulls are near definitly in since the rumor was right about Loki and the Cosmic Cube so its hit the nail on the head so far.
