Your Heat bias is material for me to poop on. It's that bad.

You're a ****ing troll you know that? I'm a Heat fan so of course I'm going to be bias. That's a ****ing ridiculous, idiotic statement. But again, I don't let my bias warp reality. Go through the my last 20 posts of this thread and you'll see how much I fear the Mavs. I've said it more than once, the Mavs are dangerous. This is not going to be a fun series for me to watch. So get over yourself and do a better job with photoshop.

:whatever:

Just how they were going to lose against the Celtics? Just how they were going to lose against the Bulls? Third times the charm eh?

I'd ask Mavs fan to put in a little more effort though.

This is the different and hungrier team...This is team that beat up and swept the world champion lakers, and now beat an athletic and young thunder team...

There is no third time the charm...Miami's bench played well against the Bulls and Rondo was playing with one hand.

Let me know when the new age heat stops Dirkamania 4 times to win the trophy...

If they can beat the Mavs, more power to them...They should be champs. But this Mavs team can abuse the crap out of the Heat.

Marion/Stevenson can cover Lebron/Wade really well...Again, when the Heat lose I expect you to state that third time is the charm, cause it does sound better :o

you troll all day everyday in this thread...Just like you bringing up the freaking Knicks in an argument that had nothing to do with Heat.

In fact, idiotic statement ring true with majority of what you say here, and if you say that you fear the Mavs so much then why come back and argue what I am saying. Once again, you are angry and you only make yourself look bad.

Honestly, you're hilarious. You never have anything of worth to say in this thread. You come in here and try to pick fights (mission accomplished) and just spout antagonistic ********. That's you fall back line "You're making yourself look bad". Dude, look in the mirror once in a while. Will come back with lame joke about how good he looks.

What in the black hell is the real housewives of Miami? You serioiusly dryfaced me on that? Are you proud about having that wasted knowledge in your head? What channel is this on?

I wasn't being mean. I was being truthful you almost never bring any type of constructive knowledge to this thread.

As Poeman pointed out when someone says something bad about the Heat (usually rightfully) you just bag on their team. Classic lack of knowledge deflection.

Also for the record it is completely classless & pathetic that Sunrise isn't going to be allowed in this thread for his revenge trash talk.

Sunrise if you are reading this if you want to message me. I will post whatever you want to say. Keep it tactful though.

I still don't see how the Mavs had an easier road to the Finals though. Last I check'd the Mavs lost 3 games in the playoffs. How many did the Heat lose? Oh yeah, 3 games. These are two teams that are evenly matched if you ask me and I'm a call it that it will be a something similar to the Bulls/Heat match-up where the Mavs kill the Heat the first game or so and then the Heat will bounce back and take the ring again.

Also, Dallas had to face a team in the second round that many people had predicted would sweep them or at least win in 5. That team were the defending NBA Champions and many thought would go back to the NBA Finals this year as they had pretty much the same team as they had last year (with a few minor alterations on the bench). Nobody ever thought that the Mavs would do what they did to the Defending Champion Lakers: not only did they sweep them, they swept them bad.

I think Miami was the favorite in their series with Boston. Dallas was the significant underdog for obvious reasons.

To say that Dallas had an easy road to the finals is easy to say now, but it wasn't when the second round started. Everyone had predicted Dallas would either be swept or lose in five to Los Angeles and it would mean a Kobe vs. LeBron matchup in the NBA Finals.

Heck, I bet a lot of the national media types predicted Los Angeles and San Antonio in the Western Conference Finals when the playoffs began.

It's over for the Bulls. Sad to see em go. For a second there, I really thought they could pull it off. Hell of a run, and plenty to carry over to next year. Guess you really do have to pay your dues.

As far as Pip, I still luvs that ugly mofo. And to a certain extent, I agree. Physically, Lebron's probably the greatest player ever to play the game. But best ever? Too soon to come to that conclusion. Maybe once his career is over, and you can look back at all his accomplishments, then you can make that statement. Right now, he's hasn't really shown us anything but Great potential. Guy's only, what? 26? Barely in his prime. Then you gotta factor in old man Lebron whenever that comes about. Will he still be able to take over games once that explosiveness is gone Like Mike? We shall see.

I think he lacks the maturity as well. It's hard because you have to remember he's still a 26 year old kid but when you compare him to Wade, he comes off like a 10th grader.

Just a couple posts I maade elsewhere...

Kidd probably would guard Wade in the normal line-up anyway (on someone's comment about the Heat possible going "big" and forcing Kidd to cover Wade), he routiney guards 2s and honestly, he does a better job guarding 2s than PGs. He's 6'4" and the people who trouble him most are your faster little point guards... Your Tony Parkers, your Chris Pauls...

And if you're going with Joel Anthony on Chandler I can see alleys happening... He gets lost all the time, he's one of the dumbest defensive bigs in the league. Chandler will beast on him on the glass too, he gets shoved off too easy. The ultra-light front court of Bosh and Anthony geting shoved around so much was why they signed Erick Dampier in the first place... and it made Bosh play much better as a result.

I'd start Haslem (Spoelstra won't...) and have him guard Nowitzki from the tip. Have him put a body on him early, look to set a physical tempo for the game and get in his head a little after what happened in 2006. Then if/when that starts to fall down south I'd start to front Dirk with Joel Anthony or Bosh and get in Dampier's ear to play contact on Chandler to keep track of him and come across to help Anthony/Bosh on the lob.

If Dirk can finish inside with big help coming, or somehow slip a pass to Chandler with that kind of pressure I'd be willing to live or die on that. You can't straight double Dirk with the shooters the Mavs have, and you can't play him from behind. Truth is, he's a very different player than he was in 2006. He's a more rounded offensive force, has more moves, more experience with those moves, and more of an idea as to how to use them than he had in 2006.

At full strength (with Caron Butler in) this is the best Mavs team in franchise history. And their defense is getting undersold all over the web/tv networks right now. Think about it, Rick Carlisle hasn't been getting them here by preaching and talking offense at every corner.

While the Mavs are yet to play a defensive team like the Heat yet, the Heat haven't seen as deep an offensive team as the Mavs yet. In fact, the Mavs saw more similar teams to the Heat in the Thunder and Lakers than the Heat have in the Bulls and Celtics...

That's what it will come down to. Free throws and what the ref will allow. That's why I'd send Haslem out there early to establish a physical tempo early.

As a Suns fan I feel jealous watching the Mavs have a centre like Brendan Haywood coming off the bench. He's still better and more physical than Joel Anthony.

Lol I am laughing so hard that the debate of Lebron being better then Jordan is even going on. He has a huge mountain to climb before he can be even in the discussion. The man hasnt even won a championship yet and left a team to join with two other all stars in order to even get to the finals. Man it makes me laugh how soon people forget. In order to be the best and Kobe imo is the best in the game right now sitting on 5 titles with chances for more. If it's only 2 year extension with the Magic, I think there's still a chance for Howard to go to the Lakers once this extension expires. I seriously doubt Magic can win a title in the next 2 years anyway, and one of those years will be a strike year. Kobe only has 3 years left on his contract, and perhaps Howard will decide to join after Kobe has one foot out of the door, so he can come in as Lakers' #1 option instead of playing Robin to Kobe's Batman.

Need to close out on Chalmers in the corners... It's not like he's a threat all over the floor. He's there to spell guys. If the Heat could get by without him, they would, because his presence allows for Terry and Barea to play without giving up a mis-match. So letting him hurt you... unforgivable.

Great game by the Heat tonight, but I think if they want to win this series then Game 2 is very pivotal for them to win, otherwise it could go 7 games. In the last 3 Finals series, all teams with homecourt advantage won the title, so if Heat protect their home games early they are in great shape.

I agree. Whether they will or not remains to be seen.

If they amp up the pressure though (and trap in some key places), this series will get ugly for the Mavs in a hurry.
Blaming the officiating = the casual fan's only argument

The Mavs shot more free throws than the Heat. James and Wade combined for seven free throw attempts.
Free throw numbers aren't a good indicator for quality of officiating.

The reffing in this game clearl favoured the Heat, despite the fact that Lebron and Dwyane didn't overly rely on it.

A lot was off the ball as well on the glass. Both sides weren't seeing equal treatment there in particular.

I'm glad Lakers came out and confirmed that they will indeed retire Shaq's jersey, given the rocky relationship that he has had with the organization ever since his departure back in 2005-2006. My opinion on Shaq has gotten better recently, because as a Lakers fan I was rather stung by the way he left and even his decision to join the Boston Celtics. Shaq is definitely one of the greatest centers of all time and here's how I'd rate them:

1) Russell
2) Kareem
3) Shaq
4) Wilt
5) Malone

It's funny. I didn't see any crying about the referees when it took Miami sometime in the middle of the second quarter to even get to the line, but low and behold, Dallas gets in the penalty and it's Chicken Little Syndrome all over again. Comparably, there was no bemoaning about the ticky tack technical that Mike Miller drew after Barea hit him with a flying body press, but sound the trumpet when Carlisle gets one. Give me a break.

That being said...

This was discussed and thought to be mentioned the last time this nonsense flared up (the OKC/MEM foolishness), but since it was met with general rebuke, quickly passed and hadn't risen again, there didn't seem to be a need. Those who choose to be card-carrying members of the Tin Foil Hat Brigade and want to whine and ***** about conspiracies, agendas, ghosts, goblins and comparable matters of malarkey will need to go elsewhere.

The last time I checked, there's a thread about the possibility of professional sports being rigged on the first page of this subforum. Find it. This thread, nor any other iteration, is not going to be infested with this crap because of people's hyperactive imaginations. Get hobbies.

That wouldn't stop that arrogant bunch. They love their screaming and tongue waving. I guess when you're kicking everyone's a****, you can get away with it.

yea...that's how it is

the fans in Dallas look very forlorn right now

Hound55

don't like it? get the Mavs to do something about it

start fouling, get more physical, maybe play some D
In fairness, for the most part the Mavs D has been pretty good.

It's the "gimme" transition points from turnovers which have killed them.

BlackLantern, I never said I was a Mavs fan, did I?

I don't care if you are or not.....we've only got two or three real Mavs fans in this thread anyway

if your team is getting their **** kicked and the team doing said kicking is showboating and hooting and hollering, do something to shut them up...if not, take your ass beating

Eh, we're used to losing in championship games. It's old habit now.

Not trying to rub it in, but are the Stars the last championship-winning team?

Cleveland didn't disappoint me when Lebron left, I had many YouTube videos to entertain me of jersey burnings and people crying in bars

if Miami wins, I expect better...I expect the bar to be raised (or lowered) by the people of Cleveland....I demand videos of a special quality....be it more burning stuff or crying

Not so forlorn now, I bet... There's a lot to be said about a team of veterans, I guess.

That OKC team would have rolled over and croaked.

Well ... I was going to turn this off and look to Sunday night. The Mavs knocked some points off that lead pretty damn quick.

Yes.

Although we could have had one in college football this year, if it wasn't for the Bull Crud System.

This year's playoffs have been ridiculous. Right down to the Finals.

ith the Mavs control of the the tempo for about 45 minutes of Game one yet losing, then the fact that they're NOW WINNING! BOOM! DIRK BABY! despite this tempo favouring the Heat...

Ridiculous.

steintym

20-2 run ... Wow

Why the bad shots by the Heat? I know the Mavs are playing some D, but still ... Settling for fall away threes?

****ing terrible. What type of offense were the Heat running in the end. "Run around and shoot 3's everytime!" Again, ****ing terrible. All the credit to the Mavs for coming back.

SpideyVille

Bad loss for the Heat. I'm doing some work and I had the game playing in the background, and it seemed like every time I looked at the score, the Heat were up by 10 one minute, and then up by two the next.

If that happens, then I'd expect Dirk to hold the NBA Championship while sobbing like a baby. All he needs is one...a ring.
