Not in The Dark Knight Rises, no. This is still the very beginning of Batman's career. Now, somewhere in the next trilogy? Definitely.

I would love to see Robin make a comeback into a Batman movie. I would also like to see a tweener Robin(12-14 years old). Almost a ying and Hit-Girl's yang.

If they make the next phase of Batman films belonging to a wider universe for the Justice League, Robin may be left out in the dark once more to put most of the emphasis on only the key players, akin to Marvel's Avengers films. We're lucky we may get Robin in a second Batman film of another trilogy, but I doubt we'll get a whole lot of him.
BUT...if GL totally screwed up WB's plans for a Justice League universe, then the next series of Batman films could very well be placed into Batman's later career without having to do the origin again and be the upbringing of Dick Grayson, imo. That would be my preferable trilogy after Nolan's films too: Batman is becoming older, wiser, but he could definitely use a sidekick and Robin is born. They could add in some turmoil of those two and Grayson could eventually become Nightwing as well. We've seen a Bruce Wayne-focused trilogy, so I say we get more and the focus could be towards all of the Bat family.

I'd rather see Joker come back than have Robin show up in TDKR...
However, I might consider it in the next trilogy, as has been said before.

not in Nolan's Batman because that universe isnt supposed to have Robin, its set on the younger Batman and his start of being the Dark Knight

I have no desire to see Robin in Nolan's Batman universe.

Why is everyone talking about Robin? The title mentions a Robionin, not Robin.

Shia as Robin. I love it! Sounds like an awesome idea... Shia already has swinging experience from Indiana Jones 4, when he was swinging with the monkeys.

I think Robin is a natural evolution of the Batman legend just because it's unavoidable that at some point Bruce Wayne would encounter a youth who loses his parents/family to crime and is left an orphan; Bruce would feel akin to this youth (whether a boy, girl, whatever).... now training the youth to become a little kid hero sidekick is where the realism starts dropping off....
....but Bruce Wayne taking a youth under his wing to raise/guide/mentor makes perfect sense....
If Nolan was agreeing to continue making Batman movies past TDKR and he stated Robin would be in the 4th, I could see this being his interpretation.
No costume.
No Robin.
Just a kid Bruce encounters because he's there when the kids' parents get murdered. The kid then finds out by accident that Bruce is Batman, and then he's stuck being Bruce's ward due to their shared secret. Then he wants to fight crime too; he's fascinated by the idea of it. Bruce starts training him.... but he doesn't ever become Robin in the movie.

there has yet to be a definitive Robin on film.. someone needs to be bold enough to make it happen.

No, never, not in any Batman movie. I haven't cared for the character ever since the
60's. (yes I'm that old.)

I just can't see how Nolan could fit him into the storyline. His focus has been soley on the struggle Bruce has with being Batman.
