Yeah, that's being logical, but these are the rules and we're not allowed to consider the reason for the rules being there. Notice however, with the rules as written, abortion jokes (the reason why "Falcon Punch" CAN POSSIBLY be offensive) are fully allowed, unless they're related to Falcon Punch.

The Hype hates Captain Falcon.

It's a small fraction of the Falcon Punch stuff out there, but "Falcon Punch as forced abortion" is a meme in and of itself, and most of it jokes about abortion, which can be offensive to most. (By the way, "Falcon Kick" has a small sub-section of the internet taking it as meaning a kick so hard that it castrates the victim, which is also offensive, but not against Hype rules, likely due to the mods not knowing about it.)

Up until recently, the rule in the post Marx made read as "Abortion/Falcon Punch", and after a run in with DA LAW, I requested a clarification of the rule be made, as what was written suggested that only abortion related Falcon Punches were banned.

I still don't think the rule makes any sense, and that things would be better if the mods were allowed to think about the reasoning behind the rules in their rulings, but at least now the rule is clarified (though I and others have repeatedly mentioned how according to what's written, abortion jokes are still okay as long as they don't refer to Falcon Punches, which is frankly backwards compared to what the state of affairs should be).

you know...People don't laugh at stuff like falcon punches because they genuinely find the acts they are insinuating to be hilarious...they are laughing because of how terrible it is that someone would joke about it and, given the context of the joke, it's funny. It's call shock humor and there's a large demographic of people who find it funny.

I'm not saying these things need to be acceptable here per the rules given on the first page...I know this site considers itself PG-13 and all and I can respect wanting to keep that atmosphere. I'm just saying: Some people really need to lighten up.

you know...People don't laugh at stuff like falcon punches because they genuinely find the acts they are insinuating to be hilarious...they are laughing because of how terrible it is that someone would joke about it and, given the context of the joke, it's funny. It's call shock humor and there's a large demographic of people who find it funny.

Falcon Punch isn't shock humour. It's a reference to a video game. Depending on the context it is used, it can count as shock humour, like the Legend Of Zelda abortion comic which started the whole controversy.

But that's no different from me drawing a picture of Batman raping the Joker while saying "I'm Batman". The quote itself has nothing to do with it. There is nothing inherently shocking about the reference.
