Though Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's performance did hit one or two rough spots early in the film, for the most part I thought she did an extremely good job(especially when you consider that this was her very first acting gig). She also has an extremely warm and likable onscreen presence and she's a much, much, much better actress than Megan "Plastic Surgery Disaster" Fox.

I'm sorry, but when I see Michael Bay movies, especially the Transformers ones, he doesn't hire actresses to be the "Mary Janes" of his films, they're more just sexual objects of the main guy character, just like 80s-90s action films.

Her character had almost no personality because they didn't GIVE her a personality (which is typical of love interests in action movies, or in the case of Transformers films, nearly every other human character except Sam).

The final scene where her and Shia do the "gone with the wind" meet up was embarrasing due to the fact that there was nothing of any substance and heart in their relationship. Now most of this is Bays fault, but if she had some charisma on screen and some sort of spark of chemistry with Shia the emotional impact that was intended might've had some merit.

She is being rightfully ripped by critics as this is a film. and they are professional reviewers of film.
Regardless of whether she isnt there to act, just to look good, she is acting and thus is judged accordingly.

Megan Fox always came across as a cold, pretentious little witch even when she was acting. There wasn't really much reason to believe Sam liked her other than because she was hot. RHW may not have been an upgrade in the acting department but at least she has a natural warmth and friendliness about her that made her a believable love interest. She might not be the greatest actress but she was at least likeable, which is more than I can say about Fox.

It's not always about looks. This is something they touched on in the first film with Mikaela. She was known for always dating the hot guy who is basically an ass. Sam asked her if they all treat her the same why does she continually date them?

You're assuming that a hot girl would always date a hot guy. Some women would find Sam's goofyness endearing, which would be part of his appeal to them.

I'd agree if it had not been established that Carly and Sam had been dating for quite a while before the movie begins. They established that Sam and Mikela have been over for a long time, and that Sam has moved on. when you consider the fact that when SPEEL-BUG had her spitcanned because of her supposed fight with bay (we all know it was them doing it to get publicity for the TF series, he cant take playful fighting SERIOSLY MAN ITS HOLYWOOD no one takes it seriosly :doh:) the script was finished .

the only re-writes i can see on my second time watching it on the bigscreen is that her ORIGIN SCENES were made after megan got fired , the rest of the role was obviosly left alone for mikala even the megatron scene , he was effing casual with her for FRAKs sake just look at his mannerisms in that scene alone like he knew her for a while now.

when u replace ROSIE with MEGAN the whole movie makes more sense , u just have to remove the ORIGIN line (when i stole her from the english embassy.....) and it makes perfect sense.
