View Full Version : Transformers Movie
Is there anyone that would like an actual Transformers movie, that is just as faithful to the G1 show as Richard Donner's Superman and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy were to their comics? No offense, but I personally hated Michael Bay's movies. So, the new live action reboot in my world would be directed by McG(Terminator: Salvation)
Starring:
Emile Hersch as Sam "Spike" Witwicky
and, of course, other humans as well(haven't thought of them yet.

I'd rather see a live-action/CGI movie that fits into, or at least is compatible with, this new "Aligned" continuity Hasbro's been working on which kind of borrows elements from all the different past versions.
Failing that, a set-15-to 20-years-after-DOTM loose-sequel/soft reboot, minus Bay and set on an Earth that's been ravaged by Galvatron (who actually would be a completely different guy than Megatron just as in the IDW books), Scourge, Cyclonus and the Sweeps (Unicron is optional...seriously, I don't care whether he's ever used in live-action or not) and Optimus and a TALKING 'Bee have to come back in to the rescue in totally different designs/alt modes (same colors, though - not necessarily red-flames-on-blue and yellow-with-black-stripes, but the colors are long-standing trademarks of the characters and have to be there) and with a completely new team of Autobots at their back.

I miss Ironhide. Just when he started to act like the real Ironhide, they killed him. He needs to be in the reboot.

Useing your logic the new film would be nothing like the G1 cartoon.
Because the G1 cartoon is NOT the ORIGINAL source for the series.
The toy bio's and the Marvel comic were released before the cartoon.

I'll be talking about my ideas for a Transformers reboot. First of all, the movie would be another reboot of the Transformers franchise but instead of bringing in new human characters once again, I would
keep the original G1 humans: Spike (Sam) Witwicky, Carly Spencer, Chip (I dunno, maybe an actual name like Chris or something.)
Chase, and Sparkplug (Ron) Witwicky. As for the Transformers themselves, I was thinking of tying their history into ours much like the previous live-action films and Transformers: Prime. I would have five main Autobots and five main Decepticons although in the latter's case, there would be much more in the first film.
Now I'll move on to the story: The Autobots have remained a goverment secret for over a century when an Autobot scout ship crashes in Roswell, New Mexico. The story is set in motion when Megatron makes his threat clear and prepares an attack on Earth's major cities, most notably, New York. The 5 Autobots who take sanctuary on Earth: Optimus, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, and Arcee, must band together to defend the planet with a little help from Autobot reinforcements who've arrived via Space Bridge. I've been thinking about the cast for a while and I think I might have a pretty solid one. I would like Michael Angarano from Sky High as Spike, Emma Stone from Zombieland and The Amazing Spider-Man as Carly, Logan Lerman from Percy Jackson and the Olympians as Chip, and finally, Hugh Jackman from the X-Men film series as Sparkplug. For voice cast, I would like Peter Cullen as Optimus, Neil Patrick Harris as Bumblebee, Keith Szrabajka as Ironhide, Fred Tatasciore as Ratchet, Grey DeLisle as Arcee, Hugo Weaving as Megatron, Frank Welker as Soundwave, Steve Blum as Starsceam, Corey Burton as Shockwave, and Tara Strong as Slipstream. Also, for a director, I'm thinking of either Justin Lin who directed Fast Five or Robert Zemeckis.

And if its " faithful to the G1 show" to the degree you want, then there will be no SAM.
and btw, Donner's Superman deviated from the comics in many ways. The look of Kryton alone was a big change from the comics at the time.
And the same can be said about Raimi's Spider-Man films.Organic webshooters, Mary Jany being the girl next door he always loved. Those are unfaithful aspects.

McG sounds like a good director choice.
