Glad to see some people like the chanting. When the teaser first leaked, the boards were full of people complaining about how that "annoying chant" was reused in the teaser.
It seemed out of place, like there was really no point to it. They just stuck it in there, and we still have no idea what it's suppose to be for or what is being said. It helps build up hype, but other than that, it's unnecessary, considering how it was used.

:funny: ... I can't top that one, unfortunately. I feel like I really wasn't that involed with the viral/marketing campaign, and I regret it. Kinda want to redeem myself with TDKR, but it looks like it won't happen, though...:csad:
hold hope lol. Though idk if they could top the joker virals if they wanted to.

Gordon's line of "We were in this together and then you were gone", it sounds like he's referring to only him and Batman knowing the truth about the whole Two Face business.

Well Rachel's dead. Alfred and Lucius make sense though.
Yeah, I just realized that, haha. I'm guessing Selina will probably end up knowing (or at least deducing) that ruce Wayneis Batman...again. Why even bother calling it a "secret identity"?

wow...just wow! Even with the cam quality I still got the chills. Love the music they used.
The bootleg quality actually makes it even more ominous. Same thing with the leaked redband trailer for Fincher's Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. The redband was just so much grimier and chilling than the official trailer.

I don't know if this has been discussed or not already....too many pages to go through... but isn't Gordon just saying "he must" two times in a row. Its just that second time he was laboring and out of breath.
So...I'm guessing that's Bane's deltoid and bicep we're seeing come into focus?

True, true. The TDK viral campaign was a masterstroke!, a once in a lifetime thing that probably won't be duplicated ever again.
Gordon's line of "We were in this together and then you were gone", it sounds like he's referring to only him and Batman knowing the truth about the whole Two Face business.
Really? I think he meant protecting the city. Remember the "You're just one man" "Now we're two" business in Begins?
Gordon's line of "We were in this together and then you were gone", it sounds like he's referring to only him and Batman knowing the truth about the whole Two Face business.
Eh, I disagree. It's really about them cleaning up Gotham from the start in BB. Seems like Batman took a vacation where then the city starts going to hell. That leaving Gordon on his own and overwhelmed.
As for the voice, it's not Bruce's voice, nor is it Batman's "I'm not wearing hockey pads!" voice. It's a disguised voice that he uses like the scene in BB ("Now we're two").

Yes. "He must....he must". Or "He will...he must", though it's definitely the former.

Well until we get the Blu-Ray copy of The Dark Knight Rises with the subtitles, Its safe to say that they are saying "this is arkham"
1) that makes no sense what so ever, do you see arkham? when has there been a PEEP of arkham asylum anywhere in the production of this film, let alone the fact they wouldn't keep Bane in Arkham since he's not insane (but Im sure someone will correct me on that one)
2) by your logic, it's also safe to say that they are chanting "we are badgers" or "peas are smelly"

I used to be quite a fan, have read just about all of the books.. after the third movie I became disinterested though.. just as it seemed to be hyping up more for everyone else.
Seeing some commentary on the HP premiere on tv the other day though, my interest has been reignited enough to want to stay and experience the final film - it seems fitting. Initially I wasn't sure if i'd just go to watch the teaser for TDKR and leave, or if i'd stay.
It should make for a good night.
Right on. I'm actually in the middle of the 4th book! I jumped on the HP wagon rather late. My sister and dad have always been insisting me on reading them, so I have been. I've seen the first 3 movies, since I read those, but I refuse to watch them without reading the books first. I'm much more into LOTR though and can't wait for The Hobbit to come out!

Sounds more like a reference to their partnership that started in Begins to me. And if the speculation that it was Bruce jumping out of a window with a ski mask from that set shot is to be believed, it would be a direct parallel to that scene. Still cool though. I'm still eagerly waiting to see how elements from tdk impact on tdkr, I just don't think that is one of them.

Some of the descriptions say that its either Bruce or Batman Gordon is talking to, but theres clearly a hand on his bed of a man in his suit (so most likely Bruce)
Looks like gordon will find out Bruce is Batman.
I'm sure this has been mentioned though.
Question. If Bruce is supposedly retired like this trailer is making it seem...or rather he's "gone", then do you think the new Wayne Manor is going to have another fully functional Batcave? What would be the point if Bruce isn't donning the mask anymore? Or hasn't for quite some time?
I'm also wondering how long the events between this film and the The Dark Knight are going to be.

Although, just like many others here, I was quite disappointed after watching the leaked teaser for the first time, I am willingful to admit that it did grow on me after several more times of re-watching. HD is needed as hell, though.
It's a teaser as it is and it perfectly connects TDKR with BB and TDK by not only having brief monatges of scenes from the previous movies, but also conveying messages and hints in the scenes of a new film. Aside from Bane crawling out of the well (which also take splace in the backstory of the character, as I believe) opposed to young Wayne being rescued by his father from the cave, as well as some posters' notions that Bane, similar to Bruce, was Ras's desciple, I'd also add the dialogue exchanged between Gordon and Bruce. Gordon clearly starts it with "We were in together", which successfully addresses to Bruce's line in BB (the scene of Bruce in mask meeting Gordon for the first time after his return to Gotham) when he referred to them as a team, saying something along the lines "now it's both of us". Thus, the film will stress the further cooperation between Gordon and Bruce, as well as Gordon's faith in Batman and how Batman will live up to believers' expectations, or, better say, hopes, since, as someone else has already implied on the boards, the whole franchise does discuss some of the themes from the Bible.
I just wish we would have a little bit more footage in the teaser and less time waste on long title and black screen shots. Yet, I do take into account the fact that the shooting has started only a few months ago and a lot of stuff wasn't ready for the promotion's beginning.
The last final shot was the best and it did give the tone of the movie, as Bane now seems like an ultimate antagonist for Batman, both mentally and physically. If Ras's plan in BB was to gain power over the city and change its nature and Joker's primary purpose was continuous chaos (which, as he could predict from the whole beginning, Batman would prevent all the time till the last days) and eternal war with Batman, Bane's only goals are to actually kill Batman (thus, finishing his career and vanishing his significance to Gotham) and destroying the city completely.

And no body said anything about Bane being in Arkham, however there are rumors of a mass breakout.

As far as I could tell, the Batcave wasn't destroyed when the manor went down in flames in BB....so everything could still be functional, and it was just more convenient having an alternate headquarters near where he was living in TDK while the manor was being rebuilt.
I've always felt that it should be some time between TDK and TDKR, and that he should be in 'semi-retirement' at the beginning of the story....kinda' like the DKR comic, but not as long, obviously.

I forgot all about that, good call.
I wonder if the League of Shadows is going to come back and try to destroy Gotham again just like in the first film. I wonder how Catwoman plays into all of this.
Also, the final scene really reminded me of Bane in Knightfall when he enters the mansion and discovers Bruce Wayne. Bruce is tired and can barely stand and Bane proceeds to finish him.

I wonder do they feel a viral would give too much away? For example if Bane and his team (if he has one) are brought in by GPD, it might limit what they could do with a GPD viral.
Either way they're playing this one close to the chest.

Well apparently the Batman is something of the past for the people of Gotham now, which is why I'm estimating a longer interval than that of BB and TDK.
But a year would be enough though.

For the hospital scene Bale has to remove the ski mask at some point. I really want to see his facial expressions when Gordon says "The Batman must come back, he must, he must...". I can picture Bruce looking away with that grimace like he did looking out of the plane window during his scene about corruption with Alfred in BB.

His hand wouldn't also have a ski mask.
Is anyone of the opinion that Gordon is simply sick and didn't get hurt and he's just watching the chaos unfold in Gotham? He could be old or whatever but like I said earlier due to other characters like Lucius and Alfred being in the film, I doubt this is the case.
Also, I'd be surprised if Bruce just stood by while Gordon and others got hurt. So I'm guessing that Bane and company are going to be really subtle about their intentions and Bruce doesn't find out until later. Perhaps Bruce isn't even in Gotham. Maybe he's traveling the world.

Thing is about the chanting, let's assume for a second that it's Bane's theme. Compare itto the simmering , jarring, moody "nails on a chalkboard" guitar heavy Joker theme. It fit perfectly with the joker, his dog like mannerisms, his more subtle and underlying approaches, his disturbing chaotic nature, in turn you could tell more about the film in how the joker's character was. He was all about warfare on an emotional and mental level, the film's subtext included the lives and reactions of gotham inhabitants, a heavy social theme if you will.
Bane on the other hand, loud brash operatic, chanting, he's big, physically superior, he won't devise a plan to prove a point, or cause mass panic and chaos. He's all about breaking the body and soul through sheer superiority and willpower, maybe this film will have less of the social aspect, and be a more personal, emotional film for bruce. Less about gotham, more about bruce...I hope so.

Wait, trust me. Especially if you've waited this long already, much of it is barely visible we're just taking stabs at it.
The best thing I've ever done in my movie going life was get off of here 3 months before TDK opened. Much of what leaked was a surprise for me in the theater, and it was the first time I had that experience in awhile. Nothing beats it.

Did you not see the Arkham picture in the set photos?
And no body said anything about Bane being in Arkham, however there are rumors of a mass breakout.
There is evidence to prove that the chant may be about arkham but its not confirmed, but it is however my opinion.
so why don't you get all the facts straight before going after me.
Ok listen, im not going after you  I'm just trying to inform you and hopefully get a bit of information if I myself am mis-informed.

Prison breakout? sure. Arkham breakout? I doubt it, that was done in BB.
I haven't seen any evidence that the chant is Arkham, doesn't even sound like it to my ears. Wouldn't you think it being a song in a trailer, Arkham would be featured just a little bit in the trailers.
I get that you want it to be Arkham? but don't confuse what you want with something that is proven with facts and evidence, actually come to terms with the idea that it's a strong possibility that it's not what you want.

Since it's confirmed that Bane is breaking out of prison, it's probably Bane's prison inmates cheering him on in a fight to the death.
all we got on that was that there was a prison break to be filmed in Pittsburgh. no mention of it being Bane breaking out of prison. For all we know he breaks in and releases all the inmates like in Knightfall. Or maybe Bruce is locked up and he breaks out? nothing confirmed on Bane escaping prison that I remember.

Bane, Bane Kill it Kill it! in spanish.
Actually we use 'Mátalo' for 'Kill HIM' and not 'it'. And yes, that's what they're chanting and there's a point as to why they use it as background when Bane is closing on Batman. The chanting is not pointless at all, despite what some people are claiming.

But, all it would take is a nurse in the room to say: "Nice to see you Mr.Wayne, I'll excuse myself" or for a nurse to say "It was nice for Mr.Wayne to stop by and see how you were doing". And if it was so easy to get in the room with the Commissioner, why not just close the curtain and slip off the mask? Unless Bruce forgets to lock the door and a nurse walks in while he's still got the mask on.

The Matrix was over-all a more appealing film to the general audience.
And I think the idea that this world is a virtual-dream is a little easier to swallow than the idea that this world is simply a small city on a spaceship floating in space being controlled by aliens with super powers... and its always night time.
