I'm sure most theaters will have this playing at midnight

No. I usually avoid opening weekends. The last midnight showing I went to was for The Dark Knight.

Midnight AND Opening Day!

Extend the experience, I'll pay to see it at midnight but not stay for the entire film. Why see the whole two hours all at once? I've waited years for this, have to make it last more than two hours!

I have had a sitter lined up to watch my daughter for the big night. So all things going as planned, midnight show is still a go!

Unfortunately no...I work at 4 AM in the morning.

Same here but usually my shifts consist of working 4am to 6am and then 8am to 4pm but since I'm off my 8-4 shift I might check out the 2D showing at midnight and then see the 3D showing with my nephew and brother in-law later that afternoon. :woot:

Ugh, I'm dying to (even after seeing the HP midnight show this week, lol), but I'll be stuck out of town with no one to go with and no transportation to even see it by myself. In fact, I probably won't even get to see it 'til sometime later in the week. :(

No. AND THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME! :cmad:

seriously I don't think there are any midnight showings within good driving distance of me. In fact we usually wait until Sunday afternoon anyway, that's about the only day we can all get together. zomg that's a mere week from today! :awesome:

I want to... but it's possible that life is going to conspire to stop me.

I'd be coming back from a holiday two days before the release and i've got a rather important thing to go to between the holiday and the midnight release...

Doesn't help that the local Cinema won't take midnight showing bookings yet :(

WildcatNC

I will see it at LEAST twice this coming weekend. Midnight for sure.

Hell Yes. I go to midnight releases for EVERY comic book movie unless circumstances prevent me from doing so. I actually have my whole day planned out.

-Head to the mall with a few of my pals and go to the local bookstore and read some Comics/Trades for a few hours
-Get some food then head on over to the line for the midnight of Captain America
-WATCH CAPTAIN AMERICA
-Go to Denny's for post movie discussion and food.

The last thing we do after every comic book midnight showing, usually to speculate, fangasm and answer questions for our less comic book savvy friends (Explaining what the cosmic cube was to people after Thor was fun hahaha)

Probably not. These days I like going during the day. I plan on being there first showing on Friday though.

I'm pissed that all the theaters around me are either not playing the film or have only one auditorium for it. To top it all off, they don't have any 2D showings for the film, so I'm stuck watching it in 3D, which I despise.

Still booked myself in for the midnight release.

I really, really wanted to.

But I just found out the only theatre doing it is showing the midnight release solely in 3D.
I hate post-production 3D to begin with, and with the extra 3 dollars on the pricetag I'd be paying 16.50 just for the ticket!

I'm really sad about this, it would of been my second midnight screening ever, my first in about 10 years. :csad:

The theater near me just added 2D screens for the film for Friday. I'm not sure whether I should exchange my ticket for a 2D screen or still stick to the 3D showing at midnight?

I'm not a fan of 3D but is there any word on how the 3D is for this film? How was it for Thor?

It was okay. Asgard looked GOREGOUS and even better in 3D. Other than that I would keep asking myself, "Is this actually 3D?" take off my glasses, see that it was blurry and sigh and shake my head and continue watching.

For Cap, I can't see 3D being important outside of maybe a few shield tosses but that will get old after a while. I feel your pain, the only Midnights they had in my area were in 3D, and for Thor we only had 3D Imax for a midnight choice...

Well I would be if one of my local theaters had a midnight showing in 2D!
I'll be damned if I make the same mistake that I made with Thor! IMO, 3D just took away from the story...besides, who wants to pay an extra $3 for a headache!? Not me!
You had better believe that I will be there bright and early on the 22nd, though!

bought my tickets in 3D...I hate converted films but i wanted to see the Spidey trailer to give it a fair shake and wasnt sure if it would be in 2D.
I make it to the midnight showings of all the big movies

An overwhelming amount of critics are saying the 3D is awful, useless, and derives from an otherwise pleasant experience.
In fact not once have I read a review that mentioned the 3D in a positive light. I'd say get your refund now while you still can, might as well just see it tomorrow, you wont be worse for wear.
I'm sad that they've forced me to this decision but I'll be just as glad seeing the matinee tomorrow at 11 and paying 7 dollars less and ultimately enjoying it more.

we make these things an event...have sum fun...nothing more fun than going to the movies with a big group of film students:woot:

Bubonic

I could think of a few, depends on the film students though.
From my experience film students are so jaded to big hollywood movies because some of them can dissect every scene, know what inspired what scene and if the original effort was better, and basically can break down every part of the film while they are watching it.
My friend who was in film studies was a real drag about it though.

Just returned from the midnight screening. The theater I was in was about 3/4 full. The audience didn't really seem terribly excited about the movie. However, the teaser after credits got a good ovation.

Fanboys appreciating a movie more than the GA is always a given. But I find it more fun to be among the GA because when they do react its even more gratifying when something wows them. That's why I'd love to see how GA is gonna react when they see the Avengers teaser at the end of Cap.
