I'm sorry...but that theme song is just too catchy and too familiar to leave out of caps first big screen adventure.
I'm strangely bothered they didnt even try to fit it in someplace. Would've been perfect for the USO scenes.

surprisingly, no. my parents just got me old cartoons as a kid.
I mean, the movie dosent fall apart cause it dosent have it or anything...but the theme was such an easy easter egg to throw in, i wonder why they didnt, considering they love easter eggs.

Is that where Cap said "get ready for action!"?

I think Star Spangled Man is more catchy than the 60ies theme and it does fit better into the time period.
I was never a fan of the 60ies theme, though.

Maybe its not there because it hadn't been written yet. It works a bit with Cap to be a bit self referencial, so maybe it'll appear in the Avengers flick.
Just sayin.

No one really used the cartoon theme song for live-action movies anymore.

Spiderman included it in his first two movies.
Also, while not a cartoon, the Incredible Hulk had the theme from the old TV Series make an audible appearance in his movie as well.
Wait....come to think of it.... Wasn't Stark's, or Rhodey's ringtone in the first Ironman just the theme from the Ironman cartoon?

when Rhodes was introducing stark and he was in the Casino, the original 60s theme was playing.

I can't find a recording of that either. I THOUGHT it was on the score but I can't find it on the net.

I would have loved to have heard it used. Old school.

Yes the ringtone was on Rhodeys phone.
The theme song also came on when Tony's name got called at the Apogee awards in the beginning of the movie.

I like the '60s theme, the song they used in the movie was much better. Though, I wish it would of had a line about what happens when Captain America throws his mighty shield. :D
