LOL! Funny you brought that up. I wanted to do this until I did some digging....Couple of issues there that may have a little effect on going out there. You have to be a member of the 'Stuntman's Association' as well as SAG... that means a couple thous in fees & dues as well as a lengthy stay in Cali. I dont have the time or resources to be that devoted. I'll be happy just being an extra...

Whose your daddy boy? LOL

Is that a threat Spider-Tim? hmm I wonder if I have messed up your world with my, as you call it, inferior mindset complex that you say that I have. Does shooting me down make you fell like a big man? To me that seems pretty childish. What do you think?

Hey. Before this goes any further. Lets make sure we're all on the same page here.
Spider Tim 7- Were you kidding around? It's difficult to tell. That's the thing about the internet. No voice inflection. I hope you were. I'd like to think it was just a friendly jab. Sorta an "in character thing". I'll always give the benifit of the doubt. You've never seemed like someone to mean the things you posted.
If not, than let me say that SpidEMC and I just spent the better part of this weekend talking face to face. And he's a very deep, highly intelligent, caring, and understanding person. Very much in control of himself and his environment.

OKay I just re-read like 5 pages worht of "pretend drama". And Now it's all cleared up. I'm almost embarrased about not being in on the joking. But What I said about SpidEMC is the truth. So I left that last post up.
So...
Hey. Dragoncon is starting to become a possible Secret Spider Wars. As SpidEMC's friend I'll always get his back. And do whatever it take to rid him of the evil warping his judgment. Even if that means helping bring rightcheous justice to Venom and Carnage.
Great work on the Carnage, Ben.

Oh wow - of course it is in fun. I am in no way serious at all. LOL I thought we were "in character" and just playing the role. Man, I am so sorry if someone actually took me seriously. Now I feel bad. :( It is just great fun to be a smart ass like spidey. LOL

Well, so that everyone will know who I really am, I am going to give you my academic and personal website address. I surely do not want any tension on this board. Man, I think you guys are awesome.

I just wanted to make sure. That is why I never try to bash anyone of the board or call anyone out of their name. I was raised with good morals, with great respect for others, and I stick to that up bringing. So talking to me on the net is like really talking to me in person. So yeah I am the same as on the net. If I joke around at all a person will definately know it.

But like I said all is cool. It's just that Pete0077 and MMurdock have had their share of people screwing around with them and the intents were real. But of course calling them out into the light well they always run away. So they knew how I felt if this case was real or not.

One thing is this, some of you people need to get around us and see what we are like in real life. It makes for a better board to talk and share ideas. To have the real person there in front of you instead of an internet connection makes things seem more on a 3-D scale instead of the net being like a 2-D type reality, which it really is.

Then to hang out in suit and have a ball that brings things on a 4-D scale, now that is the Bomb!!

********Please note any one joking around in such a manner and it may seem to get a touch personal, always remember to put at the end of any type of bashing or name calling -- J/K -- which means (just kidding) It will help with any misunderstandings if they appear to raise at all.************

Again all is cool with me and Spider-Tim I just hope he will come to Dragon Con. Then all of us heros and villains can have a good time hanging out.

Hi all!

I'm still alive. It turned out that I only had symptoms of anxiety from a scarey experience I had and took control of me for about 3 months, but I'm still alive and well. I went through yesterday without having any anxiety I turned out fine. Hope to see you all later and in the future. As the late Freddie Mercury from the old rock group Queen would say, "Cheers, Darlings!" :D I'm not gay though. I just think he's a great singer and great person, but later all. I'll post tomorrow to let you all know.

As for me I am going to eat everything in sight til Monday then start back on my training and such. Also the Novel, man the novel in it self is a lot of work, but you guys have no idea how much Spider-Time has been such a great help in this effort. If all goes well I should have this first novel for SpiderKinght done by late April. Then I will ship it off to my editor. Then comes the agent and last the Publisher.

I will keep my fingers crossed and hope the novcel will be out in the book stores by next winter. Also winter is a nice reading time, along the holiday shopping is a plus. New superhero story for sell:)

Oh and who is going to Comic-Con in San Diego, Ca July 17- july 20th?

I am going so are some of my Florida buddies :D When we hang together we always have a great time, anyone else going let us know, if we get togethter with a few people in a couple of rooms it will cut down on the cost of the trip. And also with us coming from the east coast the plane trip will cost enough as it is. ;)

That makes three of us. I'm also working on a film right now but it'll be full length and shot in grainy black and white. It's actually kinda three movies in one based on the three personalities it takes place around ( it's going to be a vehicle for my band's music) I get to play a superhero so that and getting my songs out there makes it worth while.

I've been monitoring this thread for a few weeks now...trying to get to grips with the dynamics of the group etc...before I posted. When you see a thread this large it tends to be intimidating for us beginners.
Anyhow...where I've been able to , I've viewed your pics of your costumes, and...BRAVO...superb work all round.

This will shock you, but YES, I am also attempting to create a costume of my own. Where I start, I've no idea...but hey trial and error are my buzz words!

PeterParker, what's yer movie about? I think my movie is gonna be a tad longer than four minutes. And I doubt its suitable for Wizard. That's for damn sure. I subsribe. They don't like horror.

Hello, as you can all tell (because no one recognizes me) I am new here. I usually frequent the Star Wars Prop Builders Forum, and Paintball Review Forum.

I have been a fan of Spiderman since the mid 70's but I am now just getting back into it a bit heavier as more time permits. I also have a second job as a character actor for a talent rental agency so-to-speak... you know like Santa, easter bunny, Scooby Doo, etc... Recently I was asked if i would do a gig as Spiderman for a local Country Club brunch. Spiderman I thought? Wow, I wouldn't do him justice but what the heck, I'd do it. Well I got the Spidey suit this weekend for the gig next weekend, and I am a bit disappointed to say the least. Not so much in the original design of the suit, but it needs sewing in about 50 places.. lol

It looks like the scene in the movie where the Goblin all but kills Spiderman and his costume is all tattered. The owner and I will fix it up, but I think it'll need replacing. She (the business owner) said with our sluggish economy, her bookings are down about 50% from last year, so she can't afford to replace it.

So I would like to ask if anyone knows of a decent used costume that someone may want to sell or trade for.

Other than that I may decide to build my own with the help and guidance of the board.

Thanks for letting me post!

Mark

For the first time, and it won't be the last...I'm after some advice from the experts!

I'm having a conflict of interest over seams etc. Feel free to contribute with your opinions.

I've already decided to put the main seams where the colours (colors) join.
But what about the zip? Is a zip a good move or should I go with velcro? Where to put it?
I was leaning towards horizontal across the shoulder blades where red and blue meet.

WAMS - Those pics were fantastic. If you'd like to fill me in on how you made your raised webbing and spider...I'd be eternally grateful!

Yes the pics look spectacular. Venom beginning to look more menacing as the days since he return at Megacon 2003. Carnage was I have to say was wicked looking in a good way of course.

The kidding around part: Perhaps the superheros are awesome looking, maybe that just makes them mad and riled up to open up their own can of whoop a**

Anyway back to the unkidding part: I did see the finished product on the Daredevil costume murdock did himself. I have to say after seeing the movie, I wonder if Murdock really was in the movie. The costume looks great by the way.

And Still the Masterpiece it deserves to be, SPY-D DOING SPIDEY :spidey: :) How did he accomplish that upside down shot anyway.

So I wonder who or what is next to happen as this thread seem to be becoming its own world now

hey weblin- i, personally, do not like the shoulder zips, but that is just me. i like a zip down the center of the back and the back of the head, so i can take the mask off, but it is still attached so the weblines match up. but thats just me. i know alot of peple who dont like the zipper in the mid back becasue it is hard to cover.

Well here Comes Yetter explination but I will save him the Trouble.

Marvel owns the rights to the image of the fictional characters and they dont want any one selling or appearing as these charaters without their premission. Also if some one is a spidey or Wolvie or what ever and they do some thing wrong in the public eye Marvel doesn't want to take the heat for it. Somewhat understandable, but a little to controlling I say. Thank God I am doing my own characters that should hit the market soon once I am done with the book. I have an investor interested in the Spider-Knight project, so on my end things seem to be going well.

Anyway Yetter where you been webbing anyway? Haven't heard a lick from you for a while. Oh yeah and if you want to add something to what I said please do. But I think I pretty much covered the bases.

Some people on this board know that I have already taken some heat from the Big "M" but you know its awesome now I get to do my own thing and create a lifestyle for myself with my ideas, and originality :D Thank God for it

Now that is one good damn catch phrase:D And it is so damn true.

Ben-Clone (Spider-Time) grovel for me and bring me my Chicken Pot Pie and that bag of Cheesey Poofs on the kitchen counter :D

But seriously Dawg you are one of the best people I know and a person of their word, same as the group down in Florida MMurdock, PeterParker0077. I am not trying to isolate anyone, it's just that I have hung around these people and who they are, are special and fine individuals. These three people have had a lot to do with me improvng on the person I am, and also this Spider-Knight project. They are truly awesome friends. I wish you guys could see these people in person one day to see that I am truely talking about.
They are tireless people and they really go out of there way to get things done. They always speak about positive things and very up lifting. These guys are a group dreamers, but not just dreamers, they actually go out there and make things happen, and I get motivated to keep on going every time I get around them or communicate with them.

Then for my support team. Martin you and Mick are awesome the both of you have always been around giving me an encouranging word everytime you get to communicate with me, and the same goes for Larz. Also our two doctors CCBanks, and Dark Avenger who help me when I was having the problem with my back. They emailed me and was really a lot of help. I really do appreciate the fact that you two guys took time our of your busy work week to give me the info you wanted to share with me in regards to my condition. Oh yeah and I am in good standings now :)

If I left anyone out I did not mean to, it's just that these people have had an influence on my life and they are the ones that I wanted to acknowledge.

To everyone have a peaceful work week, and a great Patty's Day:D

Hey all-

I'm just about to start sculpting my muscle suit. I figure if I can't get this down then most of my future projects won't turn out as I picture them. As I tackle this project, I can't help but wonder why nobody else is making a muscle suit like the one toby wore under his spidey suit. I know from what I've read that a lot of you are pretty buff but even Hugh Jackman's new wolverine suit has a muscle suit for added definition. Would it be better to sculpt a muscle suit or just go natural?

Hi to all..... just got back from a week in L.A. goofin' around with the family. Did some scouting around Hollywood a little and had the opprortunity to knock on Mr. Mcguire's door, unfortunatley he wasn't home... must have been at yoga, oh well. I had a letter from an 8 yr. old boy who thought I was him at an appearance which said what a fan he was and how he was looking forward to ASM2. The rumors were floating around tinsel town that he was bailing out due to back problems so I thought this letter just may be the thing to keep him on track.... (not that $17 mil wouldn't? you can buy a new spine with that!! )Anyway...when I was out there, I really got excited for the shooting to begin for ASM2. When they fire up the extras I found a hotel for about $75.00 / night about 5 min. from the airport, (not to bad for LA.) If they shoot on the SONY lot in Downey, this will be about 30 min. from there. As we get closer, is anyone still interested?

This is totally misleading.

The dare devil costume that is suppose to be like the movie one//The sellers first auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3317210361&category=18834)

Then you got him again here selling.
Next auction same seller. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3317626940&category=18834)

But look at the bottom of the info he uses this person's pic from the hype board and I know you guys have seen this suit and the person who is trying to sell it.

This will be a quick link for you guys
The pic that he is using for this auction. (http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44807)

Am I jumping the gun or is something wrong here. It is the same Damn seller. I cant believe this guy is going to be ripping people off like this and it is all private auction, so we can not contact the people. The costume is not even close to a good looking type. MMurdock's DD suit kicks ass over this guy's anyday. I hope to God he is showing the bidders the true pictures of what he is displaying to us. If so I will withdraw in saying that he is ripping people off.

Hey thanks Mike I will look into it, but I am a little edgy about the thing, I dont want to loose my rights to the character, and I want him to stay a true person. Or lets put it this way I dont want the character to act out of character, with a hero like this since he is a young Black American male, the industry most of the time screws these types of characters up, and it is not realistic in tone or mannerisms. If he is to screw up it will be on me not on a company or writer. I want to take soul responceablity for the way the character is protrayed.
I hope you can understand where I am coming from on this subject. Some people that have met me in person at conventions and stuff know my personality, and the character is about 80% of who I am. It makes it easier to write the character this way.

The funny part is that Spider-Knight (tm) is not trying to be a glorified hero, he is just really on a big mission, with some heroics that he proforms when he has too. Other than that he is on a quest. This kind of thing actually seperates him from most superheros that I know of. Oh and he is from New Jersey. At this time and moment our Superhero for New Jersey is the Toxic Advenger -- YUCK!!!

But still I will check into it Mick thanks for the suggestion, I know you are always looking out for me and thinking about my project, it is most appreciated.

This will be offical and Spider-Time (Chris) you really know how to smooth things out. Indeed he is a blessing in this project. :)

I still say it was destiny the way we met just a fluke or something at Halloween in Toys R Us. He was the Crow and I was Spidey, I had no idea he would be one of the biggest backbones I have in this undertaking. YOU ROCK CHRIS (BEN-CLONE)!!!

I am still waiting for the day that Chris *Florida*-(Peter) and Chris *New Jersey*-(Ben Clone) meet up at Dragon Con. I will try to keep these two on ground level. These two are so much like night and day:D

SpiderManYetter
04-03-2003, 11:27 AM
EMC - I agree... smart on his part.

Happy- Not pesky or nasty, they own the character and have the rights on how it should be portrayed in the public's eye. Nothing against Tim, but if some guy got tanked, threw on a suit and stood in front of a Target store, who do you think get's blamed? Worse case yet in this 'sue-happy' world we live in, the trail always goes to the deepest pocket and that would be Marvel. So they have to protect their interests, in this case their character. Thats why EMC is doing what he's doing. It's his baby and no one can take it away from him unless he sells the rights.

SpiderManYetter

Being more cautious actually. And my name is mentioned in the article.

I regularly talk with several guys who play spiderman professionally for Marvel in LA and Florida.

Plus, talking with some others, it is best to keep the real spiderman low profile. We all know the real spiderman makes his own suits. LOL

Let's hope our troops and the people of Iraq stay unharmed.

Hahahahaha, wait until they get a load of me :joker:

Thanks for the input Yetter, I thought you were a little timid in talking about my project since you work for Marvel. Marvel really has nothing to worry about from Spider-Knight, he is just a totally different type of superhero, with different types of powers. Yes they are both superheros but my guys is on a mission that will involve many people along the way.

And no way in heck am I selling my rights to Spider-Knight or the other characters in the novel, they are just way too original, and they all have great substance of character. I rather be in control on the way the characters are protrayed, and there are a handful of us that I have based their characters on, also I encluded parts of their own lives. These people also have input on the way their character is protrayed, because they look like their chracter. Even Spider-Time (Ben), has a major role when we get to the second novel. Pretty much once his character is involved we change many rules in the comic industry, but on a novel level. We will worry about comic books later.

This project is a big undertaking by a little spider, but in the end it will be worth it, and I get to help a lot of people along the way, while at the same time helping myself.

It's great to live in a free country where you can have the option to be as big as you want to be in life. I just hope to have many friends along my journey.

Worse case yet in this 'sue-happy' world we live in, the trail always goes to the deepest pocket and that would be Marvel. So they have to protect their interests, in this case their character.

Do any of you remember Clayton Moore? He Played the Lone Ranger in the TV series. He used to do apperances at conventions wearing his mask. The people who had the rights to the character took him to court him stop wearing the mask. I think they claimed that they didn't want the public still associating the retired actor with their character in the event that they would have a new movie or series come out in the future. It didn't matter that he was the person who originally played the character or not, he was ordered by the court not to wear a mask. After that whenever he did an appearance, or for that matter anywhere he went, he wore these big sunglasses that were in the basic shape of the mask. Just thought I'd remind everyone on how far some people will go.

Marty,

What they are referring to is the type of fabric they are using to cover the mannequin with. 'Ribbed knit' is a knit fabric that's extruded or "ribbed". Spandex has these same traits but on a much smaller scale.

I just took a look at your Venom shots- Very impressive. You're a natural hero/villian- physique is excellent. You definitely have one of the most solid builds I've seen in lycra- gives me some extra motivation to get a suit of my own.
Your SpiderKnight also seems like it will hit big- best of luck on it.

Hey SpiderStealth,

Thanks for the nice compliments, and welcome to the boards, you to Spiderman14fan.

But I am not all that, I just try to do the best I can with what I have going for me. I am just a guy with a lot of creativity and emotion with what I do. Just an artist sort-a-speak.

The other guys on this board are great to, they all deserve recognition. It's not easy going out there in public with a suit on, actually in the begining I was pretty shy about it, but after hanging around Pete0077 it became just a part of my personality, but with this new project I am turning into something more original than I had first thought.

I am just a player on the court with the rest of them, I don't try to hog the B-Ball. I like to pass it around, and help whoever I can :)

Good luck on your venture for a spidey suit, and if you ever need some info I am sure I can connect you to the proper people. :spidey:

I have seen several different suggestions with eyegoggles from skiing and snowboarding and then others with reflective auto tint. Hey, i use window tint, but not auto tint! you have to get Indutrial abd commerical window tint or buildings from 3m. this is much thicker and connot be wrinkled, but it still is easy sewn onto the spandex or put on in any other manner. hope it helps

By far the stretch stitch is the best option depending upon the age of your machine. As you sew, stretch the fabric as to get the maximum stitching involved. This way the thread isn't 'maxed out' or stressed when you put your suit on. Good Luck!

It's all about the money. Same reason why they changed the costumes with every Batman movie - so they can make people buy new merchandise with every movie.

Looks like the face plate has more of a jaw on it and the eyes are a little more bulbous rather than the flatter, more curved lenses of the first one. I'm actually surprised that's the only change to the suit. I don't think a kid'll look at the new suit and think it's any different than the first one. Either way, I think I'll use it for the basis of my next suit ( after my batman beyond is done)

I have to say EvH347 you got a great person working on a suit for you, you should be really impressed by his work. I have friend that just got one from Spider-Ham not to long ago and he is totally thrilled how the suit looks and the construction of it. Yes, truly an awesome suit. I especially like the way Spider-Ham is able to create the webbing and molds. Something I seek to imitate myself. Not sure how though. I am still an infant in this whole costuming journey.

BTW, I finally found a place to silkscreen my lycra with the honeycomb pattern. I'm doing the red in a deeper red pattern to create a very subtle look and the Blue in the same manner. I am excited.

Now I need to make some more advances, like moldings, white reflective lenses and such. Oh yeah...and webshooters. HEEHEE

If there is advice out there and sharing is a virtue, then please pass on the viddles.

Iīve just used a piece of a white nylon panty, stretched it a bit between two layers of clear plastic foil. Heat it and pull it over something round like a ball or something else.

You donīt have to tell her. "I guess we have mice!" would sound good. Or "Oh my god... a pervert must have been here!!!"

Or just buy a new one. Like i did. :)

Which format will the movie be? Quicktime, Avi, Mpeg or RealMedia?

well, i was hopin to save it all for a nice surprise, but i guess i'll fill ya all in. its nothing too big. we made a 5 minute short film for wizard magazine video contest. the theme was how crowded new york is with superheros. in it is spiderman, daredevil, black cat, electra, punisher, mr fantastic, invisble woman, wolverine, and cyclops. also appearing is a surprise superhero duo thats really, really funny. it starts with a spiderman on a roof top noticing a elderly lady walking on the street below, the lady gets mugged, so spidey swings in and tries to save her, at that moment all the other superheros show up as well. the heros argue over who will save her and end up fighting on there own. the ladies purse get flung from hero to hero and evently gets blown up. at the end the lady gets mad, knocks ou the robber on her own and stomps off sputtering works.

hope you all seem interested! thanks

Everyone is so busy today :) nice weather for it too.

Ok here goes my sittuation. You guys will get a little surprise by the end of the week from this spider crew. I wont say what it is yet, but it will be grand.

On other things the Novel is getting banged out very well, and been changing and editing things, It will make for one kick ass movie if it ever gets that far. Well the web movie we are planning on right now I have the costume designers actors and even a hard core Film student with a $15,000 digital Movie Camera will all the extras.
Spider Knight will be an awesome thing to take witness too. But now back to work on the novel and kill myself with work til July when I go to San Diego Comic-Con the Book will definately be all writen by then. The world shall then see a new type of superhero, and by no means will anyone think that this is just a suped up spiderman.

Great new set of photos, SpidEMC. You were right, the photos were a wonderful suprise to see.

Can't wait to see this short movie which has been mentioned lately on this thread. Sounds like the players who are in it, had fun in creating this short film and had fun doing it. :)

German, Great and wonderful progress on your costume, hope you get to finish it soon and finally try it on.

And Things with my life and making my health better are still happening, in my life. Yes I'm still around and I did let things go a bit slower then I should of. I am alive and well. I just didn't feel it was fair to rehash old information or rehash complaining why i wasn't going all out in doing what I should. I'm punishing myself by working on my life and keeping busy with that. It's why I haven't said much on the thread lately as well. I'm not keeping my distance from the thread on purpose. I just really need to stay dedicated to newer plans.

I do hope that everyone is doing well and keep busy making their lives what they should be :)

Thanks for posting those pics they are great.

Oh yeah and yes the Spiderman in Time Square was Spider-Max he is a really cool guy. The only problem, Venom and Carnage scare the pretty girls, but that Damn SPIDER-MAN always gets them for himself, and he wont share with his cousins :D

The next outting will be done soon, but this one will be remembered for quite a while.

Remember to never expect the normal type photos from us we always take it a step furhter.

Are you kidding? I got an inch of rain in my basement and its calling for thunderstorms all day.... this SUX!

PP007: Haven't heard a word at all from the casting agencies. So far they're holding to their word that they aren't using extras on a casting basis. It kills me that I hear of these reports where students are asked to be "walk-on" extras during shooting. What a great opportunity to be part of a milestone.......

Oh boy Yetter sorry to hear about the basement flooding and stuff. Make sure you save the costumes from the rising water first, then go back into the house for the family. The suits come first. Just kidding :D

Just keep the pumps going dude you will be just fine, and make sure the family is safe, that is your responsiblity, HERO :spidey:

Awesome Pete0077. Everyone is so busy.

As for me I cant believe I am almost done with this book, I was hoping to be done with it by now, but the novel is just too good. I wanted to keep it under 30 chapters but I feel as though it will be a touch more, I am edging on the 20th chapter now. Still more work to be done on this I want to have everything to my editors before I go to Comic-Con in July, then I will take the summer off and relax, then write in the fall. Hardly getting any sleep lately. Feels as though I am back in school 'yuck'. But this is a labor of love and a lot of fun. I cant wait for you guys to get a hold of this novel.

Well I'll talk to you guys soon. I need to take a nap. :) Then back to writing my work of art. :D // who knew I would get this obsessed over a novel based character?
