Hello all =)
Just wanted to know if any of you boys know where a girl can buy a Spider-Girl costume.
On an unrelated topic, is anyone planning on attending Megacon this year? Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes are gonna be there.

Hey gang,
First of all, wish you all a very happy new year.
Everytime I visit the board, it boots up my energy to start creating more costume. Unfortunately, I have roommates now and it's hard to work in my tiny room.
Nevertheless, I was wondering if anybody might be able to provide me with a good pattern for the eye piece of my black spidey suit. The current version that I have (see http://www.geocities.com/spidersfx/sfx3.html) is made out from clear plastic + tint window film. The shiny effect is great but I am not very satisfied with the shape (or the shape is fine but my head is too big :o)). Anybody has a great tip for that? HELPPPPP!!!
Thanks,
SFX

Or, if more appropriate, enjoy your time away from school.
May your Holiday Season be filled with peace, good will, and happiness.
Between my older son and I, I'll be at church tonight (music rehearsal), Christmas Eve (Children's Service - my son is in the Children's music group), and Christmas Day (I'll sing and play piano, organ, trumpet, and recorder - but not all at once. I'm not that talented.)
However you choose to spend your time, may you find receive what you want, and more importantly, receive what you need.

Hi everone, I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind posting a few pics of the back spider from Spider-man 2, I am going to make a full costume and need all the help I can get, thank's. Also, if someone can give me some idea's on how to make the eye's.

There you go Zerocool6989.
As for the eyes ,Felt, vinyl,or vacuform plastic could be done for the black rims. The lenses can be made with mirror tint or white
mesh.
Hope it works out for you.

"THIS IS A COSTUME THAT I MADE AND I AM MAKING A SECOND ONE AND I AM ALMOST DONE WITH IT. THIS COSTUME HAS WON 3 COSTUME CONTESTS SO YOU KNOW IT IS GOOD STUFF. I SHOULD BE DONE MAKING THIS COSTUME BY THE END OF FEBRUARY SO PLEASE ALLOW THAT TIME TO PASS BEFORE I SHIP."

None of the above is true. I made this suit and it has not won 3 contests. The suit in the pictures is owned by Peter Collins in LA, who is an awesome guy and we talk often. Anyway, life is full of 'em I guess. LOL
I feel sad for the bidders.

Thats the same person who has been spamming heaps of auctions on ebay, their paintwork is pretty shocking, i wouldnt charge $400 for a costume of that quality.
Also i wouldnt order a "skintight" costume on only 5 measurements.
If sony or Warner bros or Marvel comes across that site they are so going to get sued...

Saw the updated version of Knight Seeker, which looks awesome I must say. I also congradulate SpidEMC on the success on getting the copyrights on his character. Looks like both Knightseeker and SpidEMC have a bright future ahead for them.
Speaking of maybe a bright future I posted a thread which i need to get moved to a different forum because it doesn't belong in products. It more belongs in the Spidey World forum (right now it's in Products) and is called The Heros-To-Be Training Center. I do hope the best for this thread. I do know though that everyone on this thread doesn't have much time on their hands, but i hope give it a glance. the link to this thread is www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93293 I figured after hearing some stories about some of you true spidey fans wanting to melt holiday pounds off, Perhaps I could renew my whole interest in keeping myself on track. I'm nervous a bit to start this paticular thread, but I don't think it was a stupid idea. Any other thoughts from you guys let me know here on this thread or my new thread. I hope everyone has a good day.

Thanks but the photo is deceiving LOL, that is the only good angle;) but I hope to resolve that issue in a month or two. Burn off all that Turkey and stuff from the holidays.
My arms aren't as tone/large as they appear, the camera adds 10 pounds. But in general, fair amount of resistence training, pullups, heavy bag workouts, keep them lean.

Hello everyone!!!
Here are the first photos of my spiderboy costume project. It is not finished yet, so i have post some pictures of how i am doing it in my website:
The adress of my website is www.lurzuri.unlugar.com
and the adress of the exact gallery where they are posted is http://perso.wanadoo.es/lurzuri/galeriaspiderman.htm
I inform you that I iam doing the webbing with SILICONE bars, and a heat gun. It is perfect, cos once the silcicone get cold in about one minute, is imposible to take it away from the lycra, so no problems with cleaning like the ones with the paint
Another good point is that you can take the silicone line away in case you have done it wrong, during the first minute, when it is still warm. And it doesnt destroy or affect the lycra
The only bad thing is that the silicone doesnt have colour, it is transparent sooooooooo, what i make is: i just pass a permanent silver pen (for cars) over the line and it is result is impresionant!!!! you will see it in the pictures
There are also pictures of my webblaster, and it does really work!!! eric checked it in a video.. is impresionant, if anybady wants the video i will pass it thorogh the msn messenger or through the email cos i dont know how to post it in the website, mi email adress is mikel_luzuriaga@hotmail.com
see youuuuu - mikel (Spiderboy)

Sorry fellas...but the cost of flying airplanes is getting a bit much and I had to list my suit for sale. I'm not crazy about it...but someone is indeed going to get a great piece.

Darn! That really sucks EvH. I hope that my PM didn't upset you any way about the selling. Yo, I'd still like you to consider coming if you want to.
Now if I had that much money I would be on top of that so fast...

Oh, absolutely not. You didn't upset me one bit. It's a decision I've been struggling with for awhile now. I love the suit more than you know, but my expenses at school have soared this last semester.
As badly as I would like to go to any one of the "Cons", I'm very limited in my PTO from work as well as other obligations. We'll keep in touch and I'm not leaving the board just because I may not have a suit in 7 days. I still love Spidey and who knows? I might still get my paws on something by that time.

Wow...all I can say is that all of your costumes are amazing. My girlfriend and I are just about to start a Spidey suit, and you guys have really raised the bar!
This is my first post on the board (I got the link from Tim's site), and in the upcoming weeks I'm sure I'll be on here quite a bit. Any tips you guys have would be most appreciated!
It's funny...I'm not the only one hitting the gym for Spidey's sake! :D

This one will be a one-piece suit with mirrored lens for the eyes. My current costume has white mesh over the eyes and I can't see to to read through them.

Where can I get details about MegaCon?

Hope you can make it though, if not would be cool to meet another of the board at a resturant for lunch on Saturday or Sunday if you are free, or even dinner. Then we can tie you into the Tampa group :) They are a crazy bunch of the nicest guys you will meet. They are always out-going and very down to Earth.
They may be tied up with a Rennesians Festival (I know its misspelled, oh well :D ) so they are not sure if they will be there, but I will be at the convention to represent.

Fear not spidey lovers, before I sold my suit last week...I took a bunch of final shots of me in it for some new material to post here. But, I'm afraid I'm going to have to postpone that work until Spring Break. School, flying, and work is just very hard on me right now. This is a pic of the back of the suit without me in it, ofcourse. LOL. I decided to install the zipper up the middle of the back so I can get in and out of it by myself.
My previous suit had the zipper running across the upper back between the red and the blue. I'd prefer this pattern, however, I always needed somebody there to do the zipping. So I am reverting back to the one pattern in which I can be independant in the suit.
Cool pics will soon come. Thanks guys.

garl7076 Nice to see you with the new suit, and yeah told you they do some fine work Lethal Gear. also they are near you, so thats great, They may come to Mega con they are not sure yet, but I hope I meet Oscar the main guy in charge of their company. Well since you are wearing that to the convention I will wear the special one they made for me ;) its a little showy, but hey I am a Ham any way. Oops well not Spider-Ham, man would love to get one of his suits some day.
My newer Knight Seeker should do well at MegaCon cant wait to see what the reation will be to it.
Well guys the time has come, I am locking down on a subsidy publishing company, and this one seems to rock the house for advertising and publicity. It will be money out of pocket, but it will be one of the best investments I have ever done in my life, and the book has merrit, so yeah this thing is happening. Knight Seeker I hope will change a lot of the way the industry looks at ethnic superheros, we just need more out their with true originality, since I am the living character anyway, so I can tell the story fitting of an ethnic person. The big companies always screw that up that is why mines should lead the way to original writing for characters such as mine. Oh and dont mis-understand it is a multi cultural type reading, all the races are in the book, it is not one sided, but the only difference here is that Knight Seeker happens to be a black superhero, but how can you tell, he has a full plasma armor suit on? hahahahaha, this will make him a very different type of black superhero, which leaves the color remarks out, also he doesn't show his skin like the other black superheros, so that in itself is great.

For some reason the pics I take never show the detail I want to express. For example, I can't see the brick pattern on the suit unless I take an extreem close up. However, from the distance in real life you can see it well. I may, on the next lycra printing, have the brick printed in a bigger and bolder pattern.
The differences on this suit and the last are the spider on the front is bigger and metallic and not black. Also, the eye trim is metallic and not black. The back spider is thinner and spread apart and not closed in and thick. I also darkened the webbing and made it more a flat grey rather then a silver or black.
Anyway, just wanted to share the detailed changes in case you can't see them. LOL I'm still very happy with it. For now I will enjoy making cool pictures and such.
Thanks guys.

The other day I tried on my costume OVER my Scuba Diving Wetsuit, and I think it turned out looking pretty darn good. It looked a lot better in my opinion, but I'm pretty thin,...so I needed it ;)
Although, the downside is that it obviously gets really hot having both of those on, unless you're doing something outside in the suit and it's actually pretty cold and not summertime (which is when it'll REALLY suck). Goodluck :)

02-18-2004, 07:37 AM
This is also something that I've been wondering about (what to wear under my suit). I noticed that Tim had something about this on his site.
Living in Florida, it's generally always hot even without something covering your entire body including head and face. Even without moving around much, I'm bound to sweat a lot. Which leads to the other thing that I was wondering about, how to clean the suit properly without damaging it.

Well Aunt May and Uncle Ben are kind of not too happy with Peter aka Frank, right now. He is still not sure if he will be grounded in the house or not. WE will have to see. But maybe if he put the suit on, leaped out his bedroom window, and webbed his way to the convention they will never know. ;)
I hope you make it Frank if not let me know I will come and see you on your turf, and bring the convention to you, well at least a small part of it :D

Haha, I'm going to try and make it, but I can't promise anything. One of the other bad things is that March 6th happens to be my dad's birthday, so I'm not sure if he's working or not. If he's off, he'll probably want me home :(

When did you e-mail me? I never got them.
It seems like a lot of my e-mails haven't been getting to me lately too. I signed up for some car newsletter and they said they sent a confirmation to my e-mail address, and I never got that. Another friend asked me if I got his forward as well, but I didn't.
I heard it's been happening to a lot of people with hotmail lately...not sure why.
As for the IMs, you always seem to message me when I'm either not there or I'm really busy. Sometimes I end up leaving AIM on too and forgetting about it, and then I come back hours later and have tons of IMs. Sorry man, I'm not ignoring you.

Hello all,
I am trying to make a spiderman mask. For my very first attemp I used an old t-shirt.(didn't want to waste money on spandex yet, i have never sewed before) The pattern is the one from spider-costumes.de. It was awful! I kind of made my own, but it did not fit well. Here you will see the before, just an all white, then I brought it into photoshop and made it look like i wanted it to. Sewing is really hard. I give you guys credit who have made those awsome suits. Does anyone have a good pattern for a mask, I have some really good ideas for the raised webbing, but I need to walk before i can run. Let me know what you think, but be nice. ;) lol

You know what's funny is I can actually get the whole basic suit built from scratch now in about 5 or 6 hours. You can't tell but I'm using reflective chrome window tint. But the camera didn't pick that up too well. In person it looks great! Also, you can't see it but I've got water shoes sewn into the feet. Makes it very comfortable to walk around in.

Thanks SpidEMC! But I can't take all the credit. I've had a lot of help from this board. I've started working on this project about 2 years ago. I kept picking it up and putting it down. LOL
This year I just said what the heck...I can do this. (what with the next movie coming out and all.) I mean I've made costumes in the past. I've done Superman, Batman, Flash & Captain America. But this Spidey webbing just had me licked.
I'd really like to thank Spider Tim 7. I got one of his costume patterns as a start. And all his advice has been great!
But again, thanks to everyone on this board for the inspiration...and let's keep seeing those suits! I know I love to see what other people are doing too. :spidey:
I've been working on the webbing for the past couple of days and hope to have some update pics for you guys to see soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me. This is without a doubt the hardest part of the process.

Spolen, I bought them off is Spider Tim 7. Believe me it was worth it. He has some great ideas on how to construct the costume. Although I then made a few changes of my own, to make it more mine.
SpidEMC, I love that Knight Seeker costume. Can't wait to see it in person some time. I've got to make it out to one of these conventions. Maybe once I've got a suit I'll do it.

My best suggestion would be to cover the silver lenses in white mesh. I've seen some other people do this and it looks pretty good. The silver underneath gives it the look of the white lenses from the movie. That irridescent paint type look. Have fun!!!

But all in all, I'd think it came out pretty sweet! And it's only taken me four days to get to this point. I'll tell you all what...the more you do the webbing the easier it gets. I can't wait to finish this one and get started on my movie version. I know that one will be even better.
And I've still got to get started on my Capt. America and Daredevil suits. Wish me luck everybody.

Now keep in mind that I was going for the Romita comic book style with just a touch of the movie version. The costume has gloss black thin raised webbing, and chrome lenses for the eyes. But the rest of the look was based on the Romita classic. The whole costume took about a week to complete. But I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Thanks again, Tim Lane 7 for all your help and advice.
When I get back from Vegas next week I'm going to start on my movie version. Plus I've got my Capt. America costume in the works too. I'll keep you all posted with pics.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. This project was a real labor of love. It only took me about a week to complete the suit...but it took me almost 2 years to get it together and get the gumchun' up to do it. Now that it's done, I wish I wouldn't have waited so long...and can't wait to start another one.
Wams,
I'm in Vegas right now livin it up with my wife. But when I get home I'll be sure to give you the pic.
Raven28590,
All I can say is that I put my suit together myself. I purchased a great pattern from Spider Tim 7, and was able to find some incredible spandex material from an online company. Luckily I have a bit of experiance with sewing. (Been doing it since junior high.) Actually it's pretty easy to sew spandex/lycra. Cus if you make a bit of a mistake you can pretty much just stretch the material and make it work. (Usually that is.)
Good luck.

Tim and Jack great pictures from you guys, and Wams well you know you are da-man also.
I had a good time at Mega-Con in Orlando and my character Knight Seeker was expected at this one from a handfull of people that read about it either on the boards or other web sites.
I will be starting the next book on Monday, so I will be under a rock for a while but I will still check on the boards from time to time. I shall be going to Comic-Con in Philly. San Diego-Con And Dragon Con this year. So it will give me some time to get things on the right track. If I am lucky I may have a booth at San Deigo, or Dragon Con, if the book is released by the summer. My main editor has it now and he is busy with it. Also a company that does many of the comic conventions is wanting to talk to me about setting up with them at major comic conventions to advertise the new character they like what they see, so I will investigate and see what can be done to get some national advertisement for Knight Seeker.
Oh yeah and I went to Universal for a couple of days after the convention, just had the black spider top on to take a few pics with Spidey. The guys were like, "Way decked out! We should have a Venom character for the park."
I would love to do something like that myself, but I have my own empire to build, but hey some of the staff wanted to know more about me, and a few sat down and talked to me even a few of the management staff, they are fired up about Knight Seeker. Hey you never know, one day ;) KNIGHT SEEKER: The 3-D Ride.
Thats about it for now, I will keep you guys informed on the progress of the novel.

Awesome Romita Style Suit bro. Always a superb job. Incredible talent I must say. Wams and SpiderJack should take the Romita style suit to a new level.

Who does everyone think has the best movie costume? I think spiderhamhype does with Spider-tim in a close second. Spiderhamhype's webbing looks really really good. How does he get his front spider made? It really is amazing. (no pun intended) Anybody have any comments?
