Tim, I was just guessing. If you sold 5 - 10, it would be in the thousands. You restated my point about Marvel not wanting to waste legal fees on small potatoes (Dan Quayle spelling), lol

I still feel kinda sorry for Dan Quayle LOL
Haniel - Thanks for the offer and if and when you get a dollar amount regarding the dye sub, let me know and I may take you up on that.
In the meantime, I hope my comments were just taken as a precautionary lesson. I certainly would love it if the Greats here could make a bit of cash selling their wares and labours of love. I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Afterall, I have a Tim suit and love it and spent money for it so I am just as "in trouble" as Tim would be if the world came to that. LOL. Then again, I hadn't thought of the cost of a case against anyone here and I believe you can probably rest. Cause not only are Marvel and Sony sticklers about copyright, they are also misers! LOL
See ya

Haniel, I would like to thank you for your kind things you said about my post. This Thread is entiled "Making the perfect Spidey Suit" and now when someone from among our ranks is offering a product that can halp you make a pretty "spot-on" replica we jump on him with warnings and complaints. Sure if you were selling the pattern maybe you wouldn't charge so much, but Xeno is not you. Would I like to be able to aquire the patterns cheaper YES, but do I mind paying for something that would be so invaluable to the overall goal we seem to share, no. Let's give him some credit, here he is, a young guy (to my understanding anyway) who manages to get his hands on screen used transfer sheets. (I am 17 and would not know where to begin looking for these) He could have easily said, "I am going to keep this to myself and be greedy," but he didn't he offered his "find" to all of us. That sort of generosity and comradere alone is worth what he plans to charge. And to everyone else still upset by the price, remember that no one is forcing you to buy ANYTHING you can spend your money however you feel. Sure I think that Rolex's should be be cheaper, but they are not going to come down in price just becuase enough people complain about it. If I have a set price in mind for a watch there are many other watch-makers that would fit my budget...as is the case with our little community here, but rememebr you get what you pay for.
And for all those concerned about copyright issues...all I can say is just be smart about it, you don't have to expressly call your item a "Spider-man whatever." You could use some general name "Arachnid hero" or the "Spandex Spider," becuase a big concern with large companies is the misuse of their Tradmarked/copyrighted name. But if you insist on using "Spider-man" you could then include a footnote saying that the use of a trademarked name was for "comparitive purposes only and does not in anyway entail an association with Sony Pictures Studios, Marvel LTD., or any parent or subsidary companies therein." Or finally, make small enough changes that you can claimt hat since it does not copy exactly it is not able to be debated. Sorry if I rambled on a bit, but now that I may actually get a chance to have the "Ultimate Spidey suit" I have gotten really excited. I guess I should go out and buy some replacement Oakley lenses and start sanding and cutting...hehehe.

PS: I have been reading this thread since about a month after it was started, and it has always informed me about how to go about constructing a Spider-man costume, but recently we have veered greatly off topic, let's try and fix that...okay fellas?

Yes lets get back on topic...also A side note..I will not be in contact with anyone on the board for a while...Due to the fact an evacuation notice has been passed for us to vacate the area due to the hurricane thats heading straight for me...I will be in orlando and I must dismantle my computer so it doenst get wasted..(as if that helps..that I'll be in orlando)so this will be my last post for...awhile.......I'm going to try and make my house an impenatrable fort...and try to live through the weekend...so this is
<Mr.Spider>signing off....over & out...........
Eledoremassis02,I always say that I am laughing out loud, but right now, I can honestly say I am...Thanks for making sure the mood stays "light and fluffy." It's true what they say, "Spider-man costume replicator, are truly great people!" Well I guess no one has actually said that but Now I have so feel free to quote me. And here is a costume based question: if I were to sew the back spider on what would be the best way, cut out a matching spider shape in the back of the costume and meticulioussly sew the spider into the void (I'm guessing that this would distrot the spider too), or sew it directly on top of the blue, and if that: how would I go about hiding the stiches? Any other solutions would be welcome.
Nick Fox
And to <Mr.Spider>, my heartfelt prayers go out to you and your family for your safety and security through the hurricane, may God bless you and all those in harms way.

oh yea
i will be offering my spiderman pattern. and some spiderman full kits. i am just finishing the screening on it now and will have pics tomorrow(if my camera feel like it want to work). i will also have pics of my new spiderman test costume in a few days. it's not the "ultimate" one as Yetter put it as it is just at test. but it will be complete. anyway for interested the pattern i fully silkscreened. i matched the colours as close to the movie costume. it also features the muscle defintion and the brick pattern. my new pattern though, which is the one i'll be selling will feature the correlated brick pattern and will be 99% like the original. the pattern consists of about 7 peices and takes about 4 hours for a begginer to sew together. the kits i will be offering include the patten, webbing, lenses, frames and a latex front and back spider. i am not sure of prices right now but i am going to copy bobby and do a kind of run of 5-10 to start off things. anyone interested PM.

To any one has has posted such things as making money issues and copy right issues
remember I sell WEBS , How can you copyright webs?
The suit comes from another source , that is a red and Blue jump suit , so are we going to copy right colors?
I do not make thousands of dollars doing this . I hardle had enough to honor everyones webs . and The lenses and Spider I gave them for FREE thats right FREE! it really disapoints me that someone would post such crap!
if some has something for sale(patterns ) and they want to sell it for millions so be it. thats there buisness not the worlds .
also Haniel the webs You paid 1,000's for are leaving express mail tomorrow
I also gave you a free SPider and Free set of lense frames.

Hey Hunter, of course that guy is a liar. Rofl. I asked him for a picture of the back spider and he quotes, "I'll try to get a picture of it. Its just like the movie's spider. My camera is not working." Wow,yesterday he said his camera was working when he took a picture of the brick pattern, but now after one day it suddenly does not work?!? I smell a scammer and I think he plans to find a costume with the back spider or ask Jamey for a picture of it.

Hey folks, I have read the pages in this forum that talk about webbing, etc.
But I STILL donīt know whatīs the best thing to do the webs. I mean..... Iīm going to do this, so... if itīs something simpler, maybe it coulb be better.
Whatīs the best material to use for the webbings?
Whatīs a good material do make the webs, and is simple to manipulate?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I think he used liquid latex for the webbing. He made a tutorial on his site that might help you. Hereīs the link:
http://www.spider-costumes.de/howto/index.html
Bob C uses polyurethane for the webbing. This is hard to find, because for webs you need a special one that can stretch like a rubber band.
And German: Really cool costume! Good to know thereīs somebody else here from Germany.

Hi there! Been following the threads here and decided to finally register and hopefully begin posting.
Quick question.
It has been previously stated when making the eyes for your spidey mask too use auto window tint attached to clear vinyl(I believe the exact term was crystal clear vinyl) that could be found at Wal-Mart. What department can this product be found in? Have looked a few times to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

hi there every one! i've never posted here before, but now i felt like doing it.
i've been following threads since 2001, and it has been alot of fun to see people getting better and better on doing the perfect spidey suit :)
now i finally decided to start making my own movie costume replica. only the mask itself is really tricky...i want it to be "seamless" so i have to make sure the stitches go under the webbing. and now i'd like to ask HOW DID, or how are you PLANNING TO DO IT?!
i looked at spider jacks tutorial...but i would like to have somethin more accurate
everyones answer is more than welcome,
peace out -reveal-

Iīve been doing a mask myself. I decided to follow a more basic mask, which has to be sewn in the center. What Iīm going to do is just pass the webbing through the face, and not stop at the top of the head (like the movie one).
To hide the seams you have to follow the movie pattern. Just like that.
Since youīve been reading this for a long time, you probably have already seen it. In case you didnīt, tell me and Iīll show you.
Good luck,
Oberon
hi there every one! i've never posted here before, but now i felt like doing it.
i've been following threads since 2001, and it has been alot of fun to see people getting better and better on doing the perfect spidey suit :)
now i finally decided to start making my own movie costume replica. only the mask itself is really tricky...i want it to be "seamless" so i have to make sure the stitches go under the webbing. and now i'd like to ask HOW DID, or how are you PLANNING TO DO IT?!
i looked at spider jacks tutorial...but i would like to have somethin more accurate
everyones answer is more than welcome,
peace out -reveal-

thanks OBERON. i've seen the movie pattern pics here :) i was just curious to see if people have come up with something different to save time on sewing, or other reasons.
you mean you do your mask kinda like tim does it? i like the way he does it... the webbing doesn't go really "right", but i dont really care 'bout it. i've done one mask like that too...but it wasn't really a quality mask. i gave it to my friend and he used it once at a mask party...and he lost it there. now id like to do one that looks more like the real thing, but i haven't got alot of experience on sewing :( so i'm a little afraid to start sewing it from the movie pattern. guess thats just what i should do now.

Hi there reveal,
Well, I havenīt heard of anybody coming up with a simpler, but effective way to do, so I canīt help you there.
You know... I honestly donīt remember how Timīs mask is sewn. But a pic is worth a thousand words, so here is how Iīm doing mine:
http://server5.uploadit.org/files/InfoManiac-mask.jpg
I didnīt put the mask very well, so the line across my face is not straight, but youīll have a pretty good idea. Now thereīs only webbing to make, and itīs giving me one helll of a headache, you know :-)
I canīt sew either, just pay someone to do it for you ;-)

get that same head pattern. and cut a circle on top of the face. how ever big you want it.
so you'll be cutting into your head pattern for half of the circle. get that and double it so it becomes a full circle.
there you go.

Oberon - TOTALLY RADICAL MASK ! Awesome work, I'd applause. Raven, rad suit ! You used Bobby C's eyes and chest spider right ? It looks awesome. Purp, I'd like you to explain why you think Glsmatt is scaming people...
Raven, is that a Lightech Saber ?

hi spiderfan and xeno
thanks for the compliments. nope, none of the items on my suit are bobbys. the eyes are from my friend chris i told you about in the post on spiderman eyes (he occasionally sells some on ebay). the chest spider is made from a foamie and i then sprayed it with black plastidip.
you have a good eye. yep, that lightsaber is a lightech T-900. i let my wife wear part of my anakin costume for the pic

Thank you very much, Xeno.
Raven, your costume is totally cool. Looking at pictures like these that I decided to make my costume (now Iīm working only on the mask, because I definitely have no time at the moment). Moments of great hapiness with people who you love makes all the hard work more than worth. Itīs great to see pictures like that. You did a fantastic job, and it goes beyond only sewing a costume.
Thank you very much,

thank you oberon.
i agree totally with you. the whole reason i do most of my costumes is for my son but when my wife decided to take part, it made it that much more worth it and we all had a blast doing the pictures.
my wife has already started talking about taking my ninja costume and wearing it for halloween so she too will have a costume since the anakin skywalker is was to big on her.
but it is you the fans and members here who i have to thank for the inspiration to have put this one together. after seeing everyone posting pics of there awesome costumes (and im talking about all the members here who have shared photos of there work and not just bobby, ham, and tim). it gave me the drive to want to put my own suit together so my thanks to the community here in the making the perfect spidey suit thread for all the help, support, friendship and team work .

And now you assume that I was going to cast a replica of bobby c's webs??? First of all, dont assume. Second of all, it was all bobbys hard work. Third of all, everyone on this forum would know whos webs those are which would just screw me over. I mean, I could just tell everyone your cheating them with your kits, but that would be BS.

if a member of this thread is doing something in the wrong and you have proof then by all means post it to make all the others here aware. like wise with the headups on some of the shaddy ebay sellers.

Front spiders, lenses, and symbiote masks which are my own. All I asked you was what spray would you use to make the webs hard since one of my webs dont have that cool hard surface.
ok... that is complete bolocks. and i am not that pissed off that you didn't trade the lenses with me. i sculpted them myself. this is how it goes people.
matt wanted to trade some lenses for one of my kits. i jumped at the offer becuase i really wanted the lenses for my costume. i already knew his lenses were from ham so i asked him just to see what he said.
he said "i have my sources" so i told him- i know that those lenses arn't yours. i know that you got them from spiderham, and i know that you copied them. he then admited this to me and sent me pics of the frames he had produced.(i will post them later) anyway. becuase he was being so tight(he wanted me to trade a fully sewn costume with brick pattern and muscle def, for a pair of lenses- yetter sells that for $1500- i first said ok but then changed my mind and decided since i had helped him so much before, what has he given me. Nothing! and he cant even sort me out a pair of lenses. so i said **** it.
chapter 2
while on msn yesterday he asked me-does a plaster mold work for urethane and resin?- ureathane for bobbys webs and resin becuase thats what he makes his cheapy rip off lenses from. i didn't reply to this. he then later asked me again- what do you use for your webbing molds? do you use plaster?
now most of you might not see it or the signs. but put all of this togther and this d-ick head cheapskate- has ripped off the guy who sculpted the original lenses( i dont really see anything wrong this as ham has done it to) but he's doing it with bobbys molds.
also you might now be as angry as me, but i have been making latex molds trying to get the pefect touch for way over two years now and have done it- when i see GLS-D-ICKHEAD just ripping it off it pisses me off. especially since he's so tight. anyway people just to be sure i contacted bobby to see if he was recieving webs and he was or has done- bobby gave me permission to flame him in the forums.

nice mask...you have done it the same way i did my first one. i used FOLIA funny color black contour paste to make the webbingm (it's a kind of a window paint that stretches when it's dryed). it stretched really well and it was impossible to break...i will be using a silver mix of the same contour paste to next mask test.

OK PURP. RIIIIGHT. YOU QUOTE, "while on msn yesterday he asked me-does a plaster mold work for urethane and resin?" Why did I asked you this question? Because I created my own back spider pattern and wondering if plaster would work so i can make a back spider for my costume. ALSO YOU QUOTE: "( i dont really see anything wrong this as ham has done it to) but he's doing it with bobbys molds." ROFL!!! How the heck am i doing this with bobbys molds?? Bobby took a long time to work on these molds and it would be a discrace for me or for anyone to make a mold out of his webs. He has honored me and has even given me extra webs and it would be a SIN to do such a thing. I messaged bobby about how he got that cool hard surface because on the back belt, I didnt get that hard surface. THATS IT!! I also plan on buying more webs if I plan to make another costume. Conclusion: WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG??? NOTHING!! END OF STORY.

Sure I can say that anyone who bought bobby cs webs are going to make molds out of it to sell them but that would be BS because I believe that this forum is a small community like bobby said and the word will get around quick if someone starts selling copies of his hard work. Lets get this stuff back on topic here. Enough with this petty griping and accusing. You don't like it; keep it to yourself. Ihave seen plenty that I haven't agreed with but I haven't brought it into here in an all out war fashion.
Now, I received my webs from Bobby C today. as per his agreement, or statement, however you want to put it, I will be selling them. These 2 hurricanes haven't done much good for my wallet and I can use the money more right now. Again They are Bobby C's webs. Not mine, Not claiming to have made them. Just wanting what I paid for them.
Lastly here is another pic that I don't believe I have posted before. It is a before and after pic that Spolen did for me. Then a shot of me on the roof of the theatre during SM 2's opening day.

Purp and Matt, I already have enough of this flaming... Purp, please do not accuse Matt about re-casting Ham's lenses. Ham's lenses are recast from Movie, so are Matt's. Matt has some resources that he wouldn't like me mentioning here, but he's lenses are recast from movie. He showed me 2 pics of his eyes. whatever. this is the interent. so your all pretty dumb if you choose to believe whoever. but its obvious-
hey someone accuse me of doing something and i'll deny it. then you can all believe me. just beleive what you want. i couldnt give 2 shi-ts. thats why i contacted bobby first becuase thats where my first concern was. i said to him i think we should let all the boards know not to buy from him so he said go ahead and tell them about it. so i did.
just think about- like he's really going to admit-DA's-
and haniel i have been at this forum longer then you so shutup and next you have a prob with me keep to yourself.
see i will now let people now what you are like HAN so you can deny this aswell.
people might have noticed that at the start of my posts with the user PG haniel was sorta my friend sticking up for me. well i ran out of funding for my costume so i contacted HAN to see if he wanted to help me out(as he wanted the pattern) getting the screens done and i would supply him with the patterns or 5 patterns if he wanted. he said i quote- i would be happy to oblidge you in this matter. so after days of talking and me doing the test pics i shared while back he was up for it. i then asked him about 2 days after we'd been talking- you do really want to fund this becuase i cant be bothered to be messed about- as 90% of the people on this interet mess me about.
he said i quote- I KEEP MY PROMISE'S and i mean what i say ! - i just want to see some proof of what you can do as it is alot of money and i want the best possible replica out there.
i then felt assured . so anyway i did the tests and showed him. he was impressed. 2 days later when i try to talk to him, i get no answer. hmmm- thats kinda wierd, the first time i log on to msn and he dosen't answer me.
so by now i kinda get the feeling that he's messing me about. so i get started on my costume anyway.
i then ask him again just to make sure- no answer. i then tell him i know that he dosen't want to fund me anymore. and it's ok. i'd just apreciate if he'd be a man and tell me. but still no answer.
now Han is how many years my senior?. and he cant even tell me straight. now before most of start getting the wrong idea. i am not angry at the fact he didn't want to fund me. its the fact that he wouldn't tell me or set me straight and thats just being gay! imagine if i was just waiting and didn't start on my costume. he still dosen't answer me now. so maybe you guys can understand the animosity between me and him now.
now can XENO set people straight about the pattern- before i even posted about the pattern and everyone hateing on me becuase i said it was ashame that he wasn't giving it for free. i told Xeno it's a good idea he's selling his pattern- it would help fund his suit- COULD YOU PLEASE CONFIRM THIS XENO.
second Glmatt- WTF would knowing what i or bobby use for the molds of our're webbing do with the hard surface- and what are you talking about a hard surface in the first place- ureathane or latex wouldn't have hard surface- so that stupid lie doesn't make sense.
now this goes out to all of you. i am sick of making these long posts. you all seem to believe everyone else on first hand. so why cant no one believe me- i don't like flaming people. but there are some real f-cuking idiots on this forum and for once i am not going to let them get away with this.
so enjoy the pics. check glsmatts rips at the bottemhttp://onfinite.three10.com/libraries/53872/108.jpg http://onfinite.three10.com/libraries/53873/e08.jpg http://onfinite.three10.com/libraries/53874/b7b.jpg

hey all, well, just got back from dragoncon, it was AMAZING, as always =)
hundreds of cool costumes =)
i got to flip around in the parade =)
i talked to Ray Park (Darth Maul) for along time and got his personal contact info to maybe do demos with him in the future =)
(i know your jealous ben!)
i met a beautiful and sweet spidergirl =)
then i got home to tampa fl... house has been with out power for 3 days(just came back on), my street is flooded up to 3 feet in some areas, if i didnt have a truck, i would of made it to driveway.
i'll post a link to our DC pics asap, but, i have some pics of my house the river out front that use to be a street if anyone is interested =)
its nice to see the forums is still going as usual,
purp.... dont ever post anything that long again and waist my time(the time it takes to scroll past it), and quit flaming, this board rarely had flaming on it until you arrived. stop it or just dont post anymore. we are all sick of the immaturity.
and for the record... i would normally never say anything of this nature,... but your the most immature punk I think the board has ever had, honestly. I will get the mods to do something about you if you continue this.

Okay, people. I wonīt talk about all the flaming, etc. Because I have nothing to do with it and I like to keep my oppinios for myself. Besides, I try to follow the good things that "our hero" tries to pass to us, thatīs how I try to live.
Now on to what really matters:
Purp, you did an AMAZING improvement from those other pics you posted. I mean, theyīre much better.
First: Youīve made the musculature shading look much better than the predecessor. The first one didnīt look real because it was too subtle, now you made it fade in and out. Great job.
Second: Your webbing improved a hundred percent as well. The ugly bubbles are not there anymore and the color looks much better. Would you mind sharing what you used for it? Iīm having nightmares with the webs right now for my mask...
Third: As you said: The colors are great.
Congratulations for your work, man.

purp.... dont ever post anything that long again and waist my time(the time it takes to scroll past it), and quit flaming, this board rarely had flaming on it until you arrived. stop it or just dont post anymore. we are all sick of the immaturity.
and for the record... i would normally never say anything of this nature,... but your the most immature punk I think the board has ever had, honestly.

Oberon
the webs are pulled from a mold then dyed and tinted with silver/grey. they are made out of latex
Yeah, great work purp!
Your webs are much better now, especially the color and the more defined edges. The color is really close to the movie. But thereīs one point of criticism: some parts of the webs are too thin, and you know they will even get thinner when you put the suit on and they stretch.
BTW, is this the final version of your front part?
And please solve your personal conflicts via Mail or MSN. It was right to inform us about GLSmatt, but he also had the right to defeat himself. It wouldnīt have come that far if you didnīt swear that much.
Oh, and yesterday my original arm+back fabric sheet arrived. I have to say that the original colors are really amazing.
And Ben, you were right. The color of the fabric is peach, but you can also say itīs kind of a neon baby pink. Imagine Spider-Man swinging around in a pink suit
The only thing which is not that good is that on this special sheet the blue parts were also printed on that color. So it turns out purple when itīs stretched.

Purp: a question about latex. How much and how easy does it stretch?
My first tests with polyurethane showed that it easily stretches more than 3 times its length.

Hey Ollie,
Iīve seen polyurethane in stores the other day, but I wasnīt sure if thatīs what people used here. I always see them saying "urethane", and not "polyurethane". I suppose theyīre the same thing, right?
Well...since youīve had contact with it. How does this thing works? Itīs like a spray that shoots this sort of "foam" or something (they use this to fill holes, etc). But how do you mold it? With your bare hands? Please, could you tell me how this thing is manipulated, etc.
Because Iīve made some tests with silicon and it SUCKS (if someone here was thinking about it: give it up)
Actually itīs quite compicated. You definetely have to make a mold for it.
There are two components you have to mix together. A PUR (Polyurethane) Resin and a Hardener. Both are high viscose and get hard when mixed together. This process takes about 3 days.

Hey purp, why did I ask about the hardening on top of the webs?? Well bobby gave me two different webs. One that had a hard surface on top and one that didnt, go ask him yourself. Also, some of my string webs broke as well as a few of my other webs since some parts were thin, so I wanted to fill in those peices which I will be doing with the extra webs bob gave me. I never ripped anyone off and I do not want to start any more conflicts or flames with you again. Whos usually person who talks about scammers off of ebay?? Its usually me like the time of tims suit and jacks suit, where their pictures were posted up. Same with haniel who had warned us about the paper pattern on ebay. You have talented skills and if you dont want to talk to me again, thats great, and better for me and the forum. Like I said, I do not want to start any more conflicts with you and I believe that Haniel wouldnt like to start conflicts with you either. Great job on your webs and im looking forward to your final suit.

purp,
watch what you saying jack***. you are making one ****y assumption after another. damn man! you the last person on this forum to talk to me about maturity. if you have any, you wouldn've known that your request for me to fund your costume was a bunch of Bull ****. since you like to bring thing out in the open, let me explain to the board my side of the story.
purp have no intention of paying for one red cent of the silk screening and he expected me to fork out 300 pound to support his project. that is about USD 600 and in my currency, 900. a modest individual would split the cost of screening 50/50. hell purp, you and i are tight before, but ain't that tight. you have absolutely nothing to show for except for a piece of rough draft which you copy off the fisrt spiderman book and drew it on paper. and you expect me to take your word on it? people in their right mind would ask you to ****off
he kept showing me the work he did previously as an example of what he could do. i say, dun say it, bring it!!
you dun see bobby or Ben begging for fund to support their project. you are merely taking advantage of my kindness. i said i would sponser and it true i always kept my promise, but if you think i am trying to avoid you or some thing, well in one way you right. i still remember the sacastic meesage you send to me while i was in the shower. he assume that i was avoiding him which i am not. i really did in fact consider sponsoring him the whole 300 pound but when i got out of the shower and i saw his MSN meesage, i was in rage but his attitude and assumption.
he was pushing me for fund after i've told him several time that i have other familiy obligation to attend to and his comment was simply," i thought you said you would sponsor me? " get it through your thick head purp. there a big difference between sponsorship and funding. you were asking for sponsorship. if i would have knwn you expected me to pay for the whole thing, i would've never agree to it in the first place.
purp is always claiming that he has been working on hsi project for TWO WHOLE YEAR. (gasp~ whooo~ ahhhh~) you have been pointing this out several time on the forum, are you trying to tell us some thing? that those who have less is no better then you? are we suppose to simply take your word for it because you have TWO YEAR experience? Xeno is in every way better then you ever wish you could be and he is only 12 year old old. he dun brag about it and i respect that.
ever since you you show your purple ** on this forum, you had been nothing but trouble. get a hint boy, you are getting on other people nerve. at least we know who the bad guy around here. it would do us all a big favour if we never see you on this forum again, ok.

hi
for webs the ureathane isnt really pratical. i heard on another board some1 said that ureathane is for statues and latex is for costumes. latex would probably stretch about 15 times its size and unless there are bubbles in the molds(not like mine on top of the surfice) but inside the webs then it will break when streched. thats why they used latex on the movies costume- i have to disagree with bobbys statement about the movies not doing everything the right way- sometimes but in the webbings case it was fine. you might be limited to a few spidey poses with urethane .
an eg. i think i am right but at the end of batman returns when he rips his mask of. that probably had a minor rip in it to start off but it ripped like paper(i think that was latex) you'd have a hard time doing that with latex.

i fogot to add. for the movie latex might take longer the prep and make nice as urethane you can just pull out of the molds. polyureathane is the same as ureathane- the poly just stands for plastic- you can get various kinds of ureathanes, fast cast, spray on , polyureathane liquid, ureathane sheets- they all come in two parts except for the spray on and the sheets. you have to use an release agent also depending on what mold you use.

I was thinking about it, since I canīt find liquid latex here. Epoxi resin is incredibily much easier to find.
Would this "spray on polyurethane" work well? (I mean..the elasticity and everything)

hey i dont know anything about expoxi resin, well atcually i where ever you read up on it it says it stretches then maybe. but resins normally turn hard or they are used for fiberglassing. i would just stick to latex or urethane. i can send you some links if you want.
Hi,
Thank you for the info. Itīs good to know that latex works that good. As Iīve already bought all stuff I need for my webs, including a release agent, and as this has been quite expensive, Iīll stick with urethane. It stretches easier and more than the lycra, so the fabric would be the limit of my movement. I think itīs the same with latex.
I hope Iīll match the web color as good as you.
Ollie
What I use is called a elastic urethane. There are 2 components: a resin and a hardener. Depending on what mixture I use it has a stretchability up to ten times. And you donīt need much power to stretch it. So itīs not like fiberglass.
But Thank you for the help
Ollie

well. i still have testing to, and when i get some film lights i'll be able try and get as many colours from it as possible. in real life i was atcually stunned once i stuck some of the webbing on and when i put the musc def on. it look like the the origianal. especially the blue- it been hard trying to match the blue. i ended up going out getting 6 or 7 different colours that looked nothing like what was on the packet. then after mixing i got the red as dark to a light red(blood) an then blue. at first it didnt come out right so i screened some more times and then i eventually got what i wanted. i am still not satisfied. as i said before , believe or not this is just a tester suit. i will be redoing the webbing and it should be perfect and i recon just about 100% like the origianl. any way thanz for all the complements.

Hey Guys, I also went to DragonCon, Got to Meet up with PP0077 once to say Hi. Sadly I didn't get to see his Parade run (wish I had but the Rum I drank the night before said otherwise)
Anyways, here are some Spidey Pics I managed to Snap:
At First Sight I thought this was a Pretty Cool Venom, Course I was looking through my Mask and it was very Blury. Second Sight, There was a Lot of Details that was either Paper or Tape but things falling off: http://www.teamimmortal.org/modules/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album80&id=Dragoncon_033
I believe this one was PeterParker0077: http://www.teamimmortal.org/modules/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album80&id=Dragoncon_035

My Girlfriend hanging with another Spidey: http://www.teamimmortal.org/modules/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album80&id=Dragoncon_059
This guy goes by the name KnightBlade on another Board, said he wasn't on here, but his Suit was a SpiderHam Suit, Personaly I thought the Lycra was VERY thin on this. His Room Key was Tucked under the suit and I could almost read the Words on the card: http://www.teamimmortal.org/modules/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album80&id=Dragoncon_120
Another Spidey with a VERY Large Kingpin: http://www.teamimmortal.org/modules/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album80&id=Dragoncon_173
Same Spidey as above with his MJ, I didn't catch thier names: http://www.teamimmortal.org/modules/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album80&id=Dragoncon_175
Me (finaly) and my MJ: http://www.teamimmortal.org/modules/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album80&id=IMG_1537

hiya all,
for those interested, i am selling my complete urethene webbing which i bought from bobby c a couple of weeks ago. it is a complete set which include webbing for the arms, boots chest and mask. i've recive it last week and it was AWESOME!!
now a lot of you may be wondering why i am letting this go. well to be honest i really didn't want to part with it. but i have no choice. i will be under going a facial reconstruction surgery next month and according to doctor, recovery will take about 6 month to a year. so i have to put my ultimate spiderman costume project aside. i hate to see perfectly good webbing sitting in my closet and going to waste. so i've made a painful decision to sell it to some one who will have the time to work on it.
i dun have digital camera so i can't really take any picture of the webbing so i will desribe the condition of the webbing the best i can.
the webbing came un trim and no paint were applied to it. i've did try to spray paint the webbing on one of the arm but it crack so i have to peel it all off. but no damage were done to it. there is a few minor tear, especially the webbing on the arm. it's really minor and fixable. even if you bought the webbing from bobby him self, you can expect some minor tear. i'm consider pretty lucky that the webbing that bobby c made for me didn't have any major tear. i could fixed it for you if you so chooses.
included also are the webbing for the palm and the some extra urethene webbing to fix any minor tear. i am also throwing in the chest spider which bobby gave me free of charge. the only thing that will not be included are the lenses frame, that i will keep my self as a momento.
i am selling it the same price that bobby c charge me for it, which is USD$ 200 excluding shipping and handling. i am not making any profit from the webbing. you could confirm the price with bobby him self. he sold it to me at this price. i simply replenishing the cost of webbing. i only accept CASH payment as i too pay bobby in cash term.
PM me if any one interested. my lost is your gain
peace be with your my friends

o.k guys I need some help.My suit is showing up real soon and i need a little webbing help.
If i was to make rails in wood(like the ones on german spider site.could plasti dip work for the webs instead of latex.does it have enough strech to it and would it release from the rails fairly easy? If some of you guys that have used plasti dip could give me alittle insight on the stuff that would be prefect.

Iīve talked to somebody, who make Bat-Suits and he said, that it should work fine.

haniel,
hate to hear you have to sell the webs but good luck on the surgery.
as far as feeling comfortable buying from spiderjack, what could be more assuring knowing that he is in law enforcement.
plastidip,
in my use with it, its worked fine on coating the latex for bat suit pieces. you will need to take into consideration though that the more you use it will cause the piece to shrink. for instance i got a bat cowl off ebay that was in very bad shape and i cleaned it with alcohol (very important step) then started applying coats of plastidip. well, it was sorta of a tight fit when i got the cowl but after 5 coats of plastidip i could tell it was a tighter fit. so actually it went to the old saying of "more isnt always better".
also i have found that the more flexing the piece does, it can cause the plastidip to weaken by cracking and peeling. now mind you im referring to extreme bending and flexing. the batman pieces thats coated in plastip like the armor, belt, and cowl doesnt really do alot of bending and flexing so its one reason it works so well with the bat costumes. to anyone who has wore a full latex bat costume knows what i mean by it limits your range of movement (especially the armor since alot of it is made thick) so you dont do alot of extreme flexing or bending.
BUT, since you are intending on doing the whole web out of plastidip it may just work since the plastidip is not being used to coat the base but rather being used as the base.
as far as stretching goes im not too sure since the most stretching i put a piece through was when i had to stretch the neck of the cowl to get it over my head.

The draft script is pointing towards 8 to 10 minutes long. We'll post it on the web as soon as we finish it (principal photography 2nd week of November-2nd week of December), then post-production including the creation of some cool CGIs we are now working on, etc.
A director from MTV videos has offered his services for free as long as we provide transportation and housing. I have strong CGI / DFX skills and we are also including a great director of art that will help us with the overall looks. There's also some luchadores that will train me and the foes, Eric Ponce is going to do 3 suits (1 for principal, 1 for stunts, 1 for damages), so we are getting all set to (hopefully) do a great film.
I think that the storyline is strong enough and will bring some great spidey movie. We are producing it on 16 : 9 format like in the movies, with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio.

I was just wondering what you guys think of this suit:
http://www.mpmcostumes.com/site/46.asp?catID=106
I think that is a slightly updated version of:
http://www.moviecostumes.net/Spiderman_/spiderman_.html
I sent an order in for this one, then subsequently (and very fortunately) stumbled across Tim's site - so I have also ordered one of his masterpieces - which I will keep for good!
I will still buy the first suit, until I get Tim's hand-made suit, then probably sell the first on ebay.
What do you think of the one in the one in the top link though? I respect your opinions here, as I have been reading this forum for the past couple of weeks.
Liking this thread very much, by the way - you guys have achieved a hell of a lot here!

no atcually, the second link they are known for ripping people off and sony cuaght to them so that website should be closed down, the 1st popped after they(leathal gear) stopped selling on ebay. also leathal gear are an american based company and that site is selling in pounds and they say their in the uk so maybe you have been scammed.
tim is reputable but he takes 6 months.

I actually spoke to the guy from the (English) website, and he seemed very helpful - I just suppose I will have to wait to see if I have been scammed or not... hopefully not. He said the suits are made by a guy in Florida, then shipped over to their store in Somerset, UK. The guy there is trying to make sure I get a custom made one for Halloween, even with the hurricane possibly heading in Florida's direction.
I will call to pester them about it every week!
I am prepared to wait for one of Tim's suits, though, as they are the best that I have seen. It will be worth the wait, I'm sure!

Boston Have *No* fear.
Lethal Gear is cool about their spidey costumes. I have two of them. One Shiny One not, and they stand by their work. They also may laps on their timing, but they will make sure you get your suit. The main guy to talk to from their site is Oscar he is the man. I have dealt with him serveral times, and he is always very kind and personal on the phone and in emails.
Tim of course is the man, if you want a top notch suit go to him for that, but if you need something on the get go Lethal Gear is the place to go, and I have appreciated their work.
Knight Seeker
Also I may talk to them about re doing the Knight Seeker suit. Due to conflicting issues between me and Spider-Time we have had a falling out. So the images of Knight Seeker will change as will Tygron, but I think you guys are going to like the newest images better. Also the Icon will change for Knight Seeker, nothing like a spider what so ever, so their will be no confusion what so ever.
The short film was completed I will post it in a few weeks from now, but of course the images you will see will change and it will not be an authorized version of Knight Seeker, but the content of the story will still be the same.

Hey blaze, i hear ya, in tampa here, my street is still flooded a foot deep. we didnt get any damage from trees or anything, but we spent a good week cleaning up all the branches and fallen trees around us. our street looks like a river, and at one point, it was 3 feet deep, no kidding. some fish were swiming up it to from the near by lake, hehe. our power was out for 4 days as well, and our water system is on a well, so with no power, no water either. i dont think the next one will be nearly as bad, but who knows how many more will come this year =).

glad to hear all our FL spidey fans are doing all right and still with us considering the circumstances.
parts of NC were flood damaged pretty heavily by francis so we really lucked out when ivan moved through quicker than expected.
yep, its not over yet though until we see what this next one is going to do. here lately they have been hitting back to back so its been pretty intense to say the least.
look at it like this though, the west has earthquakes, the mid states have tornados, the north has major snow storms and we in the south have hurricanes so there isnt a spot you can call comfy.

hiya all,
Ive been on this forum for the past several months and Ive notice that a lot of members are complaining the cost of having their Spiderman costume silk screen or dye sub with proper brick pattern. Ive seen some amazing Spiderman costume in this forum, and yet not all have the brick pattern that give Spiderman that signature looks.
I know that not a lot of people could afford silk screening their costume with brick pattern. but the demand are there, so as a dedicated Spiderman fan, I am please to announce that i would be providing personal, high quality silk screening and dye sub service at a very reasonable price.
As most of you know from reading my post on the forum that Ive been bragging about how cost effective to have my costume silk screen in my country. I dun mean to brag about it but it's the truth. What may take other USD$400-500 to silk screen I could do the same for HALF the price!! That right, half the price. This is made possible by several reasons which Im sure you would find it logical.
1) We don't pay taxes. This is one of the major reasons why i am able to reduce the cost of printing.
2) Competition, Brunei is a small country. No bigger then Singapore but the number of business doing silk screen and dye sub is growing rapidly. Companies are always fighting among one another for your business, even if it means providing a service at a lost.
3) Currencies, this is the beauty of my service. The whole meat and potatoes that make this service so affordable. Our currency are smaller then USD. So whatever amount you pay USD to silk screen or dye sub, I could get it at the same price, but only in my currency EX:
USD$100 converted to my currency equal = SGD$180 (singapore dollar)
I dun live in Singapore. Im merely using Singapore dollar as an example due to the similar conversion rate.
4) Last but not least, the owner of the printer is a close friend of mine. He has offered me a terrific price for silk screen and dye sub.
Please understand that I am not running a full scale business. I do not have a garment factory run by hundred of employee. I am just offering my service to any one who needs it at a nominal fee. I have a full time job which pays me well, so I dun need to charge a whole lot of money, Just enough for gas and some decent clothes. Ha!
You would have to provide me with the fabric, pattern and a specific instruction as to how you would like me to print the pattern. When you send me the fabric, make sure that you provide some extra foot or two for sampling purposes.
You could send me the pattern in 2 ways, first on a disc and on printed paper in full size and color. These are real complex issue as I will be tending to different need and specification. So you would have to email me with your idea and needs to see whether or not I would be able to accomplish it.
Price begin at USD$200, Excluding shipping & handling. For more complex and intricate printing matter, it may cost more. You would have to email me with the detail. Dun let the price fool you. It may sound cheap, but thats not what you will be getting. You can expect nothing but the best work and craftsmanship money can buy.
My friend had been in the printing business for the past 30 years. And you dun be in any field for that long without learning a thing or two. He will act as my consultation and advisor while I will assist him with quality check. Quality would be my utmost priority when approaching any project. It would be like having you observing the entire process your self.
Before the whole pattern is printed onto the fabric, a small sample will be made and send to you via register mail. You would then have to observe the sample and test it for durability, contrast, color etc. once you are satisfied with the sample and I receive your approval, I will begin printing the whole pattern. I will be present during this time to witness the printing procedure to make sure that nothing goes wrong.
I will inspect the final product to make sure that there is no leak or tear in the fabric or the pattern.
I will then take some digital picture of the final product and send it to you. Note that no major changes or modification can be made after the final product is completed. The pictures are merely for your own reference so that you know what you can expect to receive.
You would receive full history of the entire procedure, from the day the sample were made and send to you, to the day that the final product is completed, Along with an individual summary written by my self (if necessary)
i will replace any default made during the printing procedure here but after the product leave my hand, I am no longer responsible for anything that might happen. Again I would like to stress that I am not running a business. So I cant provide any kind of warranty.
It could be well up to 4 weeks or more before the final product is complete. I dun have full time commitment toward the project as I have to work. But I will spend every available free time I have toward the successful completion of your project. It would be another 2 weeks before you would receive the final product in your hand.
Now speculation would probably occur as to how much I am profiting from a single project. So let me assure you that I am not out to strike it rich by overly charging for a single project. My price is of average cost which covers all area of the printing procedure. My only profit is a mere USD$30.00, which is roughly about 60 buck in my currency. I think it is a reasonable fee considering what other are charging for printing.
Beside the measly 30 buck that I earn, the rest of the payment goes into the project. So I think its fair.
I wont say that I am the cheapest around, but I sure am not the most expensive. Try comparing my price with other. Im certain that I am at least a hundred dollar cheaper.
So if anyone is interested, please email me at hanielroswell@hotmail.com. And I will reply back to you as soon as I can
Thank you and have a nice day

Well this is my second post. Wahoo. I was supposed to send spolen some pics of my suit but i got tied up with school work. If the offer is still open I would appreciate it. Here is what i really want to talk about, accurate movie eyes. It looks to me like the movie eyes have a nice curvature to them. Do you guys agree?? So i have done some vacume froming in the past and have a small table in the garage, and since this is all about the perfect spidey suit, even though thats an oxy moron since we all have differnt taste, i have sculpted up some peices and am just awaiting my plastic to come in. Now the only problem I see comming is possibly not being abel to use window tint because of the convex (or concave?) shape, so they will have to be white mesh. Well i just wanted to through that out there and see what you guys thought. I should have a set done in the next couple of weeks.

discocop78,
You're going to be pretty hard pressed to find a "good looking" suit for that price. But if you're not too picky you should check out the sales on ebay. There's a pretty decent looking one being made from Japan that goes for aound that price.
And you might get a good deal on the Marvel one, but that suit usually goes for around $300.
Good luck

Yeah I figured it'd be hard to find one at that low, but that's all I'm really willing to spend at this moment. I've looked on Ebay, I've only found the kids suits thus far.In the meantime, I'll check out the Japan suit. Thanks man.

Hi Guys,
Thought I'd join this conversation. I've spent hours and hours researching the perfect Spidey suit only to find you've got all the answers. I should have stumbled across this site 4 months ago. I completed my first suit 8 weeks ago. I made it with a bit of help from Tim and a lot of guess work. Anyway, I not happy with it. Not bad for a first attempt, but not a patch on what you guys collectively could do.. I'm looking for some help. Geelong, Australia is a long way aways. My web site is http://www.spidey4fun.000k2.com/index.htm
I'm going to try digital sublimation on white polyester lycra but am looking for some art work. Can anyone help?

I had a chat with Ryan Batcheller today thought these answers might be of some help:
Was the latex webbing cast in a mould and if so did it shrink when drying? I didn't make the webs, I was told they were lazer cut from a pattern. I'm not sure how it was done.
What glue did you use to stick the webs down? We used Kreyton glue which is used in make up. It comes in a big paint can and hardens into a rubbery sudstance like a ruber band.
Im guessing the Spiderman II suit lycra was sublimated?? The suit was miliskin fabric silkscreened for color. a sublimated suit was done but not used in the movie. the colors were never right.
Was it a matt or shiny Polyester Lycra?? The polyester was matt
Was the blue and red sublimated on the same piece of Lycra or done separately then sewn together? they were done seperate.
Do you have any idea on the colour blue and red used? no, go with what looks right.
Did you air brush anything onto the lycra? they sprayed on some colored dyes to darken areas that were to light.
That's about all I know. I just glued the webs on the suit. There were many people who worked on other aspects.

Spidey4Fun,
That's your first suit? That's really impressive stuff. Love the site.
Oh and SpiderJack, could I trouble you for a bit more help? I can't seem to find the Japanese Spidey suit you spoke of above. Have you got a link, by chance?
