Hello everybody... nice to have the forum back.

The pics from the webshooters are cool... who made them?

Wams

1500 post and still going strong <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="cool.gif" border="0"> <img src="graemlins/spidey.gif" border="0" alt="[Spiderman]" /> If I had the money I would pay top dollar for the suits.I got the chance to see the Spidey costume up close and personal when they were shooting on the Warnerbros lot and I was amazed on how beautiful it looks in person .None of the pictures that have been released do the suit any justice, not even the trailers. I think James Acheson kicks Bob Ringwoods @$$. But what do I know. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

airbrush and masking...

MAN! that had to be a pain in the butt. <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> <br />I also noticed you had some different style of lenses for your movie based suit.(I LIKE <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> )<br />Are you and Mike racing to see who could get theres done first?

SOS!! I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post pictures on the board. Can anyone of you web-heads shoot me a line?? To the question about how much would I pay for a manufactured movie costume. . . well, I can't begin to think of a price because I'm too busy making my own. C'mon guys, we're the Spidermen. Costuming is our speciality. If we didn't make it, we probably wouldn't appreciate it as much. 'Nuff said.

Hi Wildelros,<br />itīs easy to post a pic. You just need the complete url of your pic and uses the IMG-Tag.<br />For example:<br />This<br /> <a href="http://spiderman.it-pc.de/Movie/movieframe/mov5/spiderone.jpg" target="_blank">http://spiderman.it-pc.de/Movie/movieframe/mov5/spiderone.jpg</a>

Will show, without the spaces before and after the URL, this:<br />http://spiderman.it-pc.de/Movie/movieframe/mov5/spiderone.jpg

Hope it works... <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Well it all starts with conversation(like this), conserning this idea and getting peoples oppinons.Like for example,I think the Con should be call Superhero Hype con , and another person could say no "How about Spider-man and his amazing friends Con."and so on.Once we all get a concences on what we should do the we could act on what we agreed apon. <img src="cool.gif" border="0">

I think, the biggest problem is, that the most of us live far away from each other.

Ok... all for now... i have to go for work now. Have a nice day... see you in the evening.

Maybe we could have a special needs fund for Members that cant completely afford the trip. almost like Tithing but not as frequent. <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> Or we all could pay a one time fee lets say that if we get enough members that covers us for lets say three years. That would cover all hotel lodgeing and food. That should take of some of the finacial burden off some members.Notice that I am using the word "MEMBERS",because there will be none members that could hear about this and attend. and they also pay that day to attend. <img src="graemlins/spidey.gif" border="0" alt="[Spiderman]" /> <img src="graemlins/gghead.gif" border="0" alt="[GreenGoblin]" /> <img src="graemlins/batman.gif" border="0" alt="[Batman]" /> <img src="graemlins/joker.gif" border="0" alt="[Joker]" /> <img src="graemlins/hulkhead.gif" border="0" alt="[The Hulk]" /> <img src="graemlins/thingff.gif" border="0" alt="[Thing]" />

hey guys, dont know if you heard about the kid who flew the stolen cessna plane into the bank of america high rise in tampa fl. well, thats my home, and knighthwk and i spend alot time running around the parks that surround that very building! in fact if you look at our posted pictures on the page 48 or 49, that building is right in the background. it pisses me off man that people can be so stupid! i wish i could do more about it. oh well. sorry about the raving, had to get it out!

anyways, i give the convetion idea thumbs up! i mention doing something like that earlier but it was meeting at a current convention, not making ur own. good idea wams!!

also, good luck to everyone tring to reproduce the movie suit, i am sure all will look awesome. i am working on ideas for another one but it wont be like the movie. i still like the idea of replacing the blue with black or very very dark blue. i am also going to try to make the blue or black sections out of pvc spandex instead of regular spandex. my x-factor cyclops suit was made out of that stuff and i liked it alot. however, you cant make a whole suit out of it because it doesnt breath and if you had a spidey hood made out if it you would suffocate! any thoughts??

"Oh you guys Stop complaining <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> You boys can make better suits than the last time, and the powers thing of climbing walls and things like that, well if you wished upon a falling star, it could happen for you" <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

As for me I am just concerned with my body structure. I mean I would like to have a Happy Medium. I want to have a little larger build than Spidey, but not too build like Venom, but to be able to fill both looks in a good way, because I have the height also. I have talked with Yetter, and he is coaching me, and I thank him very much for his support. Still waiting to hear from you though Mick, we were suppose to be hitting the gym hard together <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0"> , but I guess you have been busy, and I would assume that I will hear from you in a little while. Howdy ... Just curious and I don't mean to offend anybody, but what do you do to smooth out your crotch when you wear a costume? Is there a special kind of brief or jock or something that lessens the bulge and provides a bit of modesty? I'm curious to try this costume thing but, well, frankly, I'm kind of shy about "down there" looking too prominant. thanks!

just plain ole whiteies man! and dont look at attractive women! if you do look immediately at an old ugly lady, if none are around, think of rosanne bar, works everytime. we have a big holloween celebration down here called quavaween, about 5000 people or more walking a old street with clubs and bars and everyone in costume. i had a couple gorgeous, i mean absolutley beautiful, women wearing close to nothing for costumes, come up to me and grab my a** and ask if spidey wanted to join them tonight. i think they like the mistery of not knowing what you look like or who you are. but you have to turn them down to keep the superhero composher and think about lots of rosanne bars surrounding you to stay cool. you must not give spidey a bad name when in costume!! <img src="graemlins/spidey.gif" border="0" alt="[Spiderman]" />

I thought about doing the webbing on my next costume with thick latex-milk. I just need an idea, to make a form for it. I think, it should look good with black latex-milk.

hey mick, i might be able to save you alot of time and energy doing that webbing. i have been doing some experiments using the jones tones strectable puffy paint. i made a colum with waxpaper sides and layed it down on the spandex and filled it with the silver paint. when it dried i removed the wax paper and it turned out perfect!. to make the whole web pattern. i would draw the lines on where i want them with a sharpe and then use strips of cardboard and waxpaper ot outline the lines and then fill it with the paint. wouldnt take that long and you wouldnt have to make a body cast. however, where you stopped one spot and moved onto the next you could probloby see a tiny line where they meet.

<br />Originally posted by GreenGoblin101:<br />Hey Mick, well first off let me say sorry about your injury. Finally, thanks for taking the time to respond, not many give a "newbie" a chance. I too am a pretty decent artist but as good as I am I'm always blown away by your work. Mike,<br />That is amazing that they etched out steel molds to create the webs on the costume. Just wondering where did you hear about this. I am interested in any info I can get about this costume.

They should create a museum dedicated to the SpiderMan movie costume with everything they used to create the costume and of course the final products. James Acheson is a genius. That costume is definitely revolutionary in every way.

Hey guys! Heres a funny story for some of you guys that know me. As some of you know Mr.Ross was in town this week for the Academy Awards poster unvailing(which by the way was 2 cool 4 words) that he painted. So Friday he planed to break away and spend some of his (very busy) time at the WB with me and my crew and some of his friends. It was a great day I took him on the Warner lot to see the movie Batmobiles,Scooby's Mystery Machine, and the Dukes of hazard cars. He dug it.<br />then I took the gang to our Museum but the upstairs was closed (that sucked).Thats were they keep the original Batman and Superman movie suits.Anyway,I take him over to the site were they shot some of the Spider-man movie. Scenes that we have seen over and over in the trailer. I go into my big show into explaining precisely what I saw then. By this time I am sweating, we are at end of my song and dance. Then Mr.Ross says"You Know what this movie is gonna do don't you." I say "What." he replies "SUCK <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> !" Man, I know he was joking but I was pissed for a second <img src="mad.gif" border="0"> ! Knot because he possibly thinks it wont be good, only because I get so passionate about this subject I left my self open for him to pull the rug out from under me. But we all know "ITS ALL GOOD <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> ."<br />Another funny thing he said while he was back at the offices. He was commenting on the all the Spider-man Movie photos I have on display in my cubicle saying "Why do you Love that movie costume so much, When you already created the "perfect" movie costume yourself." And I replied "Alex No such thing <img src="cool.gif" border="0"> ."<br />D.WAMS <img src="graemlins/spidey.gif" border="0" alt="[Spiderman]" />

Well, I'm really intrigued about making my own costume. I taught myself how to sew (yeah, I'm a guy that owns a sewing machine!), but was thinking it would be fun to get together with somebody to work on our costumes. Is there anybody here in Northern California? I'd be willing to travel a short distance, too, for a weekend of costume making. If interested, leave me a message here or at studtights@yahoo.com.

From <a href="http://www.jonestones.com" target="_blank">http://www.jonestones.com</a>

What is Jones Tones fabric paint? <br />Jones Tones Fabric Paint is the most flexible, stretchable and versatile product you can buy.

Itīs a flexible color to draw on textiles... give the 3d-effect we all like at the movie costume.

Hey mick, Yeah, that is a good sight for the jones tones. it is easy to create the 3d webbing effect with it and it comes in pearl silver! i used pearl black on my costume, but i didnt put enough one to make it 3d in appearance. only in person can you tell it is alittle 3d.

Yetter- could you send those spidey pics as well?

Wilderos- is that a latex mask, if so, how do you plan to breath??

greengoblin- for the mask, the jason mask would be perfect, i was thinking about that myself, eccept i am trying to think how to cover up the lines that would happend around the edges of the mask

webshooter- webshooters would be cool! especially if you can make them into water guns!! <img src="graemlins/spidey.gif" border="0" alt="[Spiderman]" />

ATT: YETTER and GERMANSPIDER Mike is correct the boot does have a dip in the front. I saw it up close and personal. I prefer it that way,it gives the boot more character. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> But in the same breath I suggest if you are trying to make "your type" of movie costume just do what you like, because we dont have to wear the suit you do. <img src="cool.gif" border="0"> You could be extremly precise like Mike or go more expressive like Wildros, which Iam sure both will be wonderful. <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> Long live the Hype <img src="graemlins/spidey.gif" border="0" alt="[Spiderman]" />

Place your hand on a sheet of white poster board and trace it with your fingers spread.... With the pattern now on paper add about an 1/8" more to the size of your hand. Smoothe out the fingers at the ends and v'iola.... there ya have it... it's easy and form fitting. Oh yeah.. flip the pattern for the other hand...

peter and s'man yetter: cool and thanks! i'll give it a try. i actually did use a paper pattern before. but the problem i have is in the "gaps" between the fingers. they don't go all the way down to the actual angle between the fingers (ok maybe i'm not explaining this real well!) but then my fingers look like an inch long! maybe if i make the fingers longer as well as make an allowance for the seam (the 1/8 inch you mention) i should be ok. i'll try it and post a pic. thanks!

well, i know this is a board and thread devoted to our beloved web-slinger, so i may get beaten and bashed for say this but ...

forget Spidey i wanna be The Tick! the guy is awesome, and my bulldog-ish frame i think is much better suited to being The Tick rather than Spidey. unfortunately, last night's show was the last one...fox cancelled the show. <img src="frown.gif" border="0"> i've studied The Tick's costume, and it appears to be two pieces: legs and feet are one piece, a sort of leotard for the torso, arms, and cowl is the second. but i can't figure out what it's made out of, it looks like latex. there is also obviously a good deal of foam padding underneath for the muscle effects.

but Spidey still is near and dear to my heart, so i'll return to the topic and thanks for letting me digress for a bit! <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

@ German: What was supposed to be going on with Real?

@ Wilderos.... So is this a shell that you wear? I see that you glued strips of fabric between weblines but is the fabric glued to a plaster mask?

@ Wilderos.... So is this a shell that you wear? I see that you glued strips of fabric between weblines but is the fabric glued to a plaster mask?[/QB][/QUOTE]<br />Yes. It’s a soft plaster shell cover with a Paper fiber. The fabric I used did not give. So I had to Pizza it all around the head to get it tightly applied. The fabric is thin so I had to use Spray mount adhesive to glue the Red wedged pieces down. The black webbing lay over keeps it all together. I like the Helmet idea because you get in and out of it fast, and makes an instant display.
