I dont stetch the sides but do occassionally stretch the suit at the belt depending on how big the wearer is. If you stretch the sides it gets a puffy look.
thanks Brad, thank u very much. is really not easy to make a perfect spidey suit. luckly hav all of u guys in this board, my dreams is half comes true. thanks guysssssssssssssssssss

Here's a new project Im working on. This is the sample print.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j7/Spidey4fun/Pool/PoolSample.jpg
Also I thought I might make another display mask. Just the faceshell with lycra / urethane webbing and frames/lenses. Not really wearable as it has no back to the maskbut should make a good display.

Oh... here's a pic of my webbing on a suit currently being made in Japan. If anyone ever wondered what those 2 strips were on the original TK-comics pattern you can see them in use here. Notice the strips between the front and back of the fingers. This is the professional / very time consuming way to sew a glove.... He's used a special paint to paint the surface of the webbing silver. Looks pretty cool.

Well guys I hate to do this but I am selling my Spidey4fun suit. It is in A+ condition. Always hand washed & stored in a smoke free environment. When Brad constructed it for me I decided on the hidden zipper behind the head so I could eat & drink with the costume on. It has served me well, but I must sell it to fund my TDK suit. My stats are 5'10" & 175lbs. This suit fits me perfectly with spare room if needed. More pics on request. $500 shipped anywhere in the US. I do take paypal. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/bh-5150/DSC_7953-1-1.jpg (http://%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/bh-5150/DSC_7953-1-1.jpg%5B/IMG%5D)

And a faceshell display mask. I thought I'd try some paint on the display mask. It's OK for a display mask but not for a wearable suit. The paint does rub off. I'll ask around tomorrow at some Auto shops to see what other paints I can find.

I updated my Venom mask a little more again.. this time I think I'm done. I moved the mouth up, gave him gums, and a smile. I made two kinds of teeth, and I'll cast them seperately, so thats why there's only two teeth.
(Btw, this pic was taken a few days ago.. the mask is more smoothed out now)

Tres' cool! Looks like fun. I've always wanted to go hog wild on a Spidey costume with scissors and fake blood and stuff. I've just never been brave enough. Do you have a better close up of the mask area? It's hard to see what's going on with all of the blood and tattered cloth. Nice job Jester FX.

Ok Everyone I want to make an important urgent announcement and Ernie (SpideyFan27) if you are reading this you better be sure to read it well! Apparently me Taylor and maybe more than likely other people which most may be on this board if you have ordered from him in the past or recenlty just got screwed by Ernie. If anyone one who has ordered from him near Halloween like me or in the past 8 months and have not recieved there order like Taylor who hasn't recieved his refund from Ernie or answered any of his messages for the past 8-9 months just got screwed by him as well. Dont expect him to make your order even though he says that he is making it or expect for your money to be refunded because it turns out to be that Ernie who goes by SpideyFan27 is a total Fraud. We tried contacting him by email, his cell # and home # and no Answer from him it appears that his #'s are disconnected. If you guys don’t seem to realize it (which I didn't until now) most of his work that he posted on the board is not really his, is fake, or someone else's work I wish I would have known this sooner due to the fact that I paid him $200 for the 2 masks and Urethane Spiders I ordered from him on Oct 2 as well as Taylor who paid him $200 for the mask he ordered from him 8-9 months ago calling him back and no answer from him or has even gotton his $ refunded. No wonder why he was always trying to make deals with me on masks and Urethane Spiders. The sad thing to say was that we (Me and Taylor and maybe others) supported him as well and we thought he was a good friend just like others thought so. I just would have never expected this from him. So Im advising everyone not to order from him anymore or have trust in him anymore. And Ernie (SpideyFan27) you better hear this because we are not going to be left empty handed you better refund are money back or Im taking this to the headquarters on this board and will be filing law suits against you!

I too am still waiting on my finished suit. That was supposed to be finished months before halloween, then I was told halloween. And when i couldnt wear new costume, i purchased over 6 months ago. I havnt had contact with spidersuitmaker, or ernie for the longest time. I kept on being promised,..just 2 more weeks.
I guess im just starting to lose my spidey sense a bit. I thought people were here for spidey.
Im waiting to see some pictures of my suit or process pics, ERNIE , and Mike...please.

Hey guys, After much personal reflection, let's not let one bad apple spoil the whole barrel. Lets keep THIS thread on target as far as our love for the costume and the character. We can start a separate thread to deal with the "situation", but I get enough joy out of this particular thread that I don't want to see it turned into a negative, suspicious place due to one scammer. I WILL tell you that I have SPOKEN with BOTH JesterFX AND SpidersuitMaker, and neither one of them is involved in what has happened. In FACT, both of them are just as bothered by what is happening as the rest of us are. (Both of them are out $$$ to Ernie too). So to those that have P.M.ed me and anyone else out there that is involved, I just want to make sure that the blame is placed squarely in the right spot. Jester and SuitMaker are stand up guys who have not spoken to Ernie in months and are, frankly, embarrassed that they have inadvertently become associated with this little fiasco. They have NOTHING to do with it.
Remember, for every scammer there is a GOOD guy like Brad (Spidey4Fun) who is a straight shooter and a talented and honest artist who probably UNDERCHARGES for his products since he does it for the love of it, not for the $$$.
So, let's get THIS particular thread BACK on track, and we can start a separate "pissy" thread for those (like me) who need one.
I'll restart the love and positivity by YELLING at ALL of you for not posting more in my frames/lens thread (I'm looking RIGHT at YOU SpidermanC):cwink:.
I KNOW for a fact that there are people in here that have some KICK-ASS lens that they have made or purchased. Stop bogarting all the cool lens info, or I'll have to hunt you down :woot:. Taylor

Sorry guys for the rude message that I was refering about Ernie (SpideyFan27)I just thought that everyone should know about this fraudgulent person that everyone should be aware of... but that shouldnt stop us from making the perfect Spidey Suit. And your right Taylor with every scammer there is a good guy like Brad (Spidey4Fun) who is a better talented and honest artist who I give alot of credit for his amazing work with the suits he makes out of his own bare hands. Come on now you, those unfortunates that lost money probably aren't in the mood to hear an "I told you so." right now :csad:. I think that most people that tried to trust Ernie just wanted to believe that everyone in this thread was here for the right reasons. I'm actually glad that people tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. All in all, I guess I'd rather be a little too trusting in the fact that people are basically good, then convinced that everyone is a dishonest bastard who's trying to screw me. Now you can make me feel better about rubbing my nose in it by posting some pics of your of your wonderful frames/lens in my thread :woot:.

Taylor thanks for the phone call trying 2 clear things up between me Ernie and mike b4 people started linking me 2 Ernies mess. Like I told u and I will tell everyone else who was promised suites by him and any 1 in general who just may want 2 know. He did post some pix of mine over the summer with my permission b4 I had an account and I did talk 2 him about different Spiderman costume parts because he said he know people who were interested in my frames, spiders, webbing , face shell, and muscle suit. As far as everything else goes we talked here and there but he dropped off the grid quite some time ago so I know just as much about him over the past few months as you guys do. Mike on the other hand I know more about I have been doing projects with him for almost 3 years now and have sent him money and product and don’t even know what he looks like so 4 me 2 trust a man I never even met that much I can say he is not going 2 screw you if he says you will get your costume or what ever else you may have ordered you will get it I place lots of fate in him and vouch for his word. I know most people are here 2 put together the best spidey suit they can but me I am here 2 do that as well as make a name 4 my self in the costume industry this is my job and passion as much fun as I have doing this and yes I love being that super geek in a costume at every con this is my lively hood and I wont take chances scamming people because 1 bad rep snowballs till I cant get a job doing what I love most. And Ernie I’m sorry if I have said anything that may have offended you but I really need 2 look out 4 my self and my business I am building up and also 4 the people like mike who were there 4 me when I didn’t know anything about this part of the costuming world and were willing 2 take me under their wing and teach me everything they knew and as a result build a great friendship and partnership. Thank you all for listening and I am sorry that people were fooled by Ernie. If in any way I can help pleas pm me

I Know I owe the board an apology and to the customers that I owe things too... My Ex fiancee and my ex boss Took me for everything I have, I have to rebuild now, but I promise to those who I owe things to, I will deliver, or I will refund your money as soon as I have it... I promise..... They stole my computers cars, and house. I was left with nothing My bank account was drained... Worst of all I Lost my 3 year old son...I am trying to get back on my feet I have to start all over again..
Well why didn't you tell us? I know you said you didn't have a computer.. I dont know maybe you could have used a library computer or friends computer to notify everyone one of us that you were still working on our orders or somthing that went wrong with your personal life (Sorry for your losses) or something not to mention that Taylor had been waiting a long time (8-9 months) for his refund or order to be recieved by you due to the fact that he had been calling you many times emailing you many times and you wouldnt respond or refund his money back ....It had given me alot of doubt rather or not you were to be trusted Ernie, We all (or most of us) trusted you and spoke up for you when you were in trouble on this board I personally thought that most of the work you posted was actually your work done by your own bare hands You really did fool alot of us or at least me because I didn't realize it until now. Well Ernie I really hope if it is what you said you can get your life back together in one peace and I hope you gain back for all your loses and just keep in mind of all those people that you owe money, an order, or an apology to. Thats all I have to say.
Sorry Guys ...I will get back to the making the perfect Spidey Suit now.

Of course i could check out the entire thread, but it's 783 pages and going... so kinda hard to check it all out to find what i'm looking for.
Is there a list somehow of the makers????

There is no real list, you just have to suss out who can deliver. But I'll tell you that you're not going to find ANYTHING better than Spidey4Fun. Not only are his prices reasonable (particularly considering the work that goes into them), but he's an incredibly easy and honest guy to deal with. He delivers on his promises EVERYTIME, and his suits are the best for "real world" applications (actually wearing them around without having things constantly breaking and popping). Ollie and Fettster and Yuri all made some incredible suits, but they're all out of the business now. (although I THINK that Yuri still sells the kits. But you have to put it all together yourself). What do you think gang? Who am I missing?

Yeah SpideyC, you definately do make some awesome looking suits. I just hadn't really considered you as a "suit for hire" person, but I stand corrected! NOW GO to my lens thread before I carry out my warning. :cwink:

Hey guys,
For all spidey costume makers does anybody think they can make a 3 piece suit like in the comic. With the pants part of the suit then the upper (shirt) part of the costume then of course a mask. I was wondering if anybody can make this and to put it together it will be like a zipper or something (hidden) that connects the suit. If so this will be lovely you know a sort of challenge. It may seem impossible but anybody can at least take a shot at it.

Both have faceshells... but on the display mask the frames are glued to the mask. This pulls the eye frames in at the centre of the face and gives it a better look.

Nope, no joke. He's asking for $400 for it on eBay. Says it took him a month to make. If you look, the "sleeves" don't match up, and he never cut out the "void" uderneath the chin that becomes the neck of the costume.

I didtn't use no paint I used these Mettalic Markers called: Silver Mettalic Sharpys you could buy them cheap at any office depot or office max for 6 dollars for a pack of 7 I used them over the chest and back Spider on the black suit and for the chest Spider on the red suit. They work really well instead of using paint plus it doesn't get all over the place like paint does...the photo of the chest Spiders might look alittle too bright because of the flash but if you look at them in person they look nice.. ;)

I saw Ernie on MSN last night maybe you could catch him there.

ok so i spent most of 2 day at starbucks tweaking the face shell so that way it will fit the fraims with the lenses in it. sorry the pix are not the best but i took them with my cell. so now the new fraims and lenses are a perfect fit and as in the original i added the groov 4 the lense and i will be doing the final smoothing in the morning and adding the magnet hole. i hope to have it molded and sent off 2 the vacuum-former by the end of the week. any questions PM me

Looking good Justin!! It's probably a little hard to determine at the moment.. but what size head you figure the face shell will fit? Are you thinking fibreglass or Vacuum form? Im loving your whole project. :)

thanks brad. well if u remember when i first did the shell i sculpted it off of my life cast and i have a 23inch round head. when i made the mold and did a fiberglass shell i saw some changes i wanted 2 make and with having 2 make changes 4 the new lenses i decided 2 do a clay pour out of the silicone mold that way it would make it easier 4 me 2 move all around 2 get a better view of thingas and make it easier 2 mold. as 4 the final piece i am going 2 make vacuum-formed pieces. i know in the movie it was a red plastic but i am going 2 go with a white plastic and just paint them that way i can offer them for both red and black suits

So this is a little off topic but not much. all of us are hear to make the perfect spidey movie suit and now many years later we are all most at the point to where between all of the talent and ideas that have been spit balled and shared and put in to motion on this board we have finally done just that and I know things can always be improved but until 1 of us truly gets their hands on a complete movie costume or Chris himself or any other person involve in the costume making process for the 3 films fills in some of the gaps we have all done an impressive job from merely watching a DVD and reading a few behind the scenes books. So what I guess I am getting at is if there is not a thread all ready dedicated 2 people showing off other superhero costumes or creating original characters is any 1 interested in doing so. I know on my end I love making every superhero especially batman and I think that a thread just 4 making any and all superhero costumes would be kick ass. Brad I know every now and than u post non Spiderman costumes on here as do I even though some are still related 2 his comic I think it would be a cool thread 4 u to show some of your other work besides your web page personally I like looking at all of your other projects. Ok so I am rambling now so if any 1 is interested in starting a thread dedicated 2 superhero costume making in general please let me know

After 4 years I've finally decided to put myself to a full urethane suit. In order to get it as accurate as possible I thought I'd add the extra bit of fabric between the fingers. Here's my second attempt..... first time I tried 4 years ago it took me hours and didnt really work.. this one only took about 20mins. I guess my sewing skills have improved...lol.

I spent most of the weekend going through every page on this thread that’s right all 785 pages and through all of my looking I have not once seen a post regarding the web that Spiderman shoots from his wrist and the web that he makes his giant webs out of that him and MJ are always resting in. so I did some digging and found some real good screen shots and I made a 5ft long prototype larger web strand that he swings from. I was wondering if b4 I waste the materials to mold it if any 1 was interested in it. I have seen so many cool pix of all of us in our costumes acting like we are trying 2 swinging or shoot webbing and I think that this could be a cool thing to have. If so please PM me. I also plan on making the cone shaped ending of the web that they always show attaching to the wall. If I do make them I plan on casting them out of a flexible clear resin. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jokerman1303/safafas.jpg

You know that is a very good question and concept you came up with because I always wanted to know what type of webbing material did they use in the movie or how it looked like in real life this 4th picture seems to be more like the webbing in the movie of Spiderman 2 as you could see here:
http://sell.akos.net/spidercloth14.jpg
It looks like it some type long strechy gluey plastic :whatever:
I wonder where you could buy it at or if someone here on this board makes it or sells it?

i did lots of reserch in2 the web and all of the movies were dif spiderman 1 they were very thin 2 and 3 were very close 3 was just a tad bit thinner but the pix i posted were him on the roof in spidey 1 and the web from spidey 2 if you look close at the web you can see a rope in it so the stunt man couls really swing from it the pic u posted from the train shot has a bunch of threads in his hand. when he makes a large web it is like a 1/8 thicl web with a singel smaller 1 wraped around it there is no knoting just as much went in 2 the web as they put in 2 the costume i also toyed with the idea of making a stone mold and making them out of dragon skin silicone it is a clear silicone taht will stretch up to 10 times it size

what do you mean "swing"? are you tying them to something and actually supporting your weight with it?
i once made some webs a number of years ago. my technique was just to take a lot of strand of fishing line. i knotted them together tons of times, and it looked ok, but was a pain in the butt to do. i never tried to use them for anything. let me know if this project goes somewhere as i think i'd be interested.

I dunno. To be honest, I'm not sure how I would tell the difference between neoprene and other types of webbing. I know that it's legit though 'cause I watched the auction when Sony was putting it on the market. The owner also had a few pics up on www.yourprops.com. I asked him a few questions about the frames/lens a couple of times. He seemed nice enough.

Hey let me help clear this up.
I'm thinking maybe the person who bought that mask doesn't know that neoprenes visual properties are much like that of Foam latex.
And he might have mistaken the webbing for neoprene...
2nd, A form of neoprene/ Foam was used on the under soles for the spider man boot. We can see this clearly from Taylors pictures of the symbiote boot where it has a corrugated rubber sponge sole.

lol guys, the auction suggests that the suit is made from neoprene instead of lycra. The webbing is the same rubbish foam latex that perishes dreadfully.
Is the black spidey suit actually a divers wetsuit (that kind of neoprene)?

That's a set or a copy of Nayef's webbing. He was on these boards a few years back. I used his webbing on one of my earlier suits. He made a minor error in his webbing pattern on the of the back of the head and didnt have smooth transitions between the thick and thin parts.
Should be webbing where the red line is and no webbing on the circled yellow part.

This pic shows the step down on the mask.

From memory this stepping was also on the hands and feet webbing.

dont know whoes they were based off of but there was a guy on ebay 3 years back that was selling webbing and other movie props he took way 2 long 2 produce order and 2 send me my molds took me a year 2 get my order but thats besides the point he promised me up and down that thay were 100% movie accurate so i bought them and cashed in on some favors at work and had my friends at work take measurments and 3D model thema and print them out so i could silicone mold them as it was easier and cheaper 2 have tham do that than have cad files made and milled and thay were good enough for a while till i started doing more resrch into the costume and got the real measurments and dimentions thats y i am now having cad files made thats y i dont really post pix or advertise that i have them as like u said brad thay look great and 2 the normal every day costume maker thay look perfect but 2 the hard core spidey costumers like me and a few others here we can now spot the differences but if you are saying i recast them and im not saying you are because i know you are not some 1 who sturs up crap they were not i just picked the wrong set 2 modl off of

What's the purpose of the "stepping"? Is it as visible on the outside of the mask as it is in that picture? Or does the "stepping" go on the underside where the glue is placed?
spidey4fun
12-12-2008, 11:27 PM
The stepping occured as Nayef didnt have a true 3D tool path drawn up for his CNC guy to cut or the guy simply didnt know what he was doing...probably the latter as Nayef did spend a lot of time working of his details. They simply ran the grinder at 2 different depths to obtain the 2 different webbing heights. The stepping of this webbing is on the outside and is pretty visible.
Here's a pic of a suit I made using this webbing about 3 years ago. You can see the stepping quite clearly... but not from a distance.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j7/Spidey4fun/Samples/Mask1.jpg
The correct method is to have a gradual increase and decrease in depth as shown below.

Nope...
See the step in the thickness of the webbing on this pic. Then look on the mask picture I posted above. The top one. You can see the step in the thickness... but it's obviously not a major issue as most people dont notice it.

The webbing on your suit.. Yuri's was made the correct way with gradual change in thickness.

100% correct brad there should be a gradual gradient between the thick and thin parts of the webbing. But that’s why they say hind sight is 20/20 because of how amped I got when I made my first suit with 2 me was perfect …looking back now I see that it is far from it. But that’s why I have spent so much time reading all the spidey movie books watching every DVD and making of DVDs freeze framing reference pix and talking 2 every person whose name I could find who was even slightly involve in the movies I know now that once my cad files are made for my webbing and my molds are cut all that time will be well worth it. 3 years of R&D has defiantly paid off. Now all I need is for my graphic artiest 2 finish with my bricking file so I can have my silk screen made for my black suit and I can finally after 3 long years pick another superhero 2 obsess over lol….. Any suggestions on a good superhero
Oh side note I am working with Todd McFarlane and the president of his toy company 2 make a prototype spawn comic costume I plan on making a few for my self 2 sell on eBay if any 1 may be interested in a spawn costume please pm me so I can send you pix of the prototype

Look I want 2 say 2 brad and every 1 else on this thread that I am not re-casting other peoples work or stealing other peoples files. I have access 2, 3D digital printers and body scanners mill machines and dyesup and digital direct printers I have digital 3d modelers and graphic designers and cad guys working for me and this is all just from where I work I also as you see from my pix am a sculptor and mold maker why would I need 2 rip off some 1 else’s hard work copy the idea yes as we all are doing here but recast or steal I don’t need 2 do. I know people like Ernie my come here and steal peoples work and pass it off as their own but I am not him costuming and sculpting is my life this is what I do all day. Day in and day out so I have the time 2 make mine look just like the original or what ever I was modeling it off of and that may sound cocky or arrogant but that is not what I am trying 2 come across as I am a hard working guy trying 2 be the best at what he does and that is not a bad dream for any 1 to have.

you don't know what you are talking about....:-)
I have not attempted a full pattern but I know that illustrator is more of an advanced microsoft paint program. good but not useful in a project like this that requires the tools in photoshop. Illustrator reminds me of a coloring book for adults!

Maybe not enough to complete a whole suit but I do know enough through my experiance with illustrator and photoshop to know that illustrator is a vector based program unlike photoshop which is bit mapped... that means that no matter how much you alter the size or the resolution of the image (in illustartor) it will not get fuzy of pixilated... seems like that would allow for a higher quality print. Again you're right I don't know everything but show me someone on this board who started out knowing everything. this board is a place where people learn and share their ideas. I'm not asking for anything ridiclous just a means of getting the begginngs of a pattern like the tk comic or something.

Iceman is right that Illustrator does vector-based lines...lines like the ones on the spiderman costume. If you ever look at the pattern Spidermancostumediy.com sells it's an illustrator file. (BTW, Illustrator isn't a newb program...graphic artists use it exclusively for certain things it's perfect for)
Iceman, I highly doubt you're going to get someone to give up the rights to use their pattern. That's like asking coke for the secret formula. :yay:

finally, my first post after just following the board for a year!
anyway, i'm sure you're all familiar with spidertim. i ordered a suit from him on 7-14-08. after a few (i use that term lightly) misunderstandings got taken care of he said he'd get the suit made. more that 6 months later i'm still suit-less. he says he'll get it done, and from the conversations i've had with him i know he's a very busy man. but really, 6 months? that's more than twice the time his website says. i'm not trying to bash tim in any way at all, but i'm just ...confused. anyone had any similar issues?

Hey dude,
I got a suit from Tim a few years back now and had to wait for 6 months or so before getting it.
You are right about his website it does say it will only take 3 months to make and ship to you, but his suits aren't made in the same way as the other guys on the board so it take a lil longer.
He is true to his word though and you will get a suit from him that will fit well and look really good, so just hold tight.

Gotta re-enforce the good review of SpiderTim. He's a man of his word that makes a GREAT suit! You can absolutely trust him.

Agreed. To be honest Tim's work is not that great to warrant the price and the wait IMO.

Nope. I assemble kits by Schuurkes, but make customized lenses for the suit.

Web of Shadows
By: Eric Floyd
Tangled in his web of shadows
He could not face his home made gallows
Slinging through this concrete jungle
His mission is one he cannot bungle
Never to know what’s ahead
Is his choice black or red?
The black screams out into the night
“Come get me red, it’s time we fight!
Without me this world is naught,
Come at me Red, forget your thoughts!”
Black advances over red
Is this the end we see ahead?
As the giant city sleeps
No one know they are to weep
For as the black grows more and more
It seems as though Red will never score
Are we dreaming? Is this real?
Or is evil going to prevail?
BANG! The clash of red versus black
He who was once dormant begins to attack!
To fight one’s self is no easy task
It all comes down to a simple mask
Is his choice black or red?
Of this choice, only his can be said.
Hero versus foe, one and the same
Down to the last they have the same name
It all is his choice, left unto his hands
He mustn’t let his life wash away like sand
Red begins to gain on black,
This could be the end of the attack!
Like a spider hanging from a web of thin silk
He stands on the brink, no longer feeling his guilt.
He closes off his other half behind his mask
The choice is made; done is the task.
The city sleeps on; he has never been so sore,
And so he says, “Black Spider-man is no more.”

Looking good Justin. Can you slip a spidey mask over it and place the lenses on it? The finished look is all important. :) Thanks.
Oh.. is that the vac form mask? I've never seen it done with such a thick plastic? The face shells Yetter made me using Vac Form were pretty thin.

With a good vac-former you can pull a plastic as thick as .125 gauge and have decent detail.

That's an Ollie suit. The Tell's are the boots & Jaw line to the face shell, Lenses Over all colors of the suit. ect.. ect... That guys webbing is holding up great. Wouldn't shock me if OVDH was selling suits again while leaving others with nothing....

Yes it is big for an OVDH spider. Ollies new chest spiders fall to pieces EASY. Odds are it's a replacement.

peter_parker asked 4 a pic of the visibiliaty of the lenses on the shell so i figured i would shair it with every 1. also i decided place the magnet on the in side of the shell so that way i would leve it movie accurate because the face shell had no magnert on it there was metal tabs that framed out the shape of teh eye and the magnet attatched to that and the tabs held it in place on the shell
also this pic was taken in a half lit room so the visibiliaty will be much better in an out door setting or in a room with all the lights on i would compair the lighting in the room when i took the pic to a low dining room light or sort of party setting
