Yep... Yetters masks are pretty cool.. They are very light, thin, and a little flexible so you dont feel like you're wearing a helmet.

Thanks Brad.
I am guessing he painted over a clear plastic that sits over top of the mesh. Maybe?

Nope... just a very fine mesh. Airbrushed. No plastic... plastic just dont work in my experience.

Brad, have you considered doing The Spectacular Spider-Man from the new cartoon series? Either the lenses or the whole suit?

I buy it here in Australia so the people I buy it from probably arent much use to you... but all you need do is find a stainless steel mesh producer close to you. Just ask for a stainless steel 80 mesh. That's 6400 holes per inch. Only thing you might find is you have to buy it by the yard and it's not real cheap... so if you only need one pair of lenses it will be an expensive purchase.

Hey guys, this is my first post but I've been reading this thread for a long time. I just got my spider4fun comic mask in the mail today and i couldn't be happier with it I'm trying to attach photos but if anyone is looking for top notch work, spidey4fun is the way to go. Here are the images. Also the visibility is really good. Any other questions ask away.

:wow: Man I gotta get me one of those (Brad you will be seeing me buy one of your Comic Suits in the near future)...Even from far distances the paint on the frames look sharp top notch. On Blury photos you can still notice the Sharpness and Neatness on those frames, Lenses, and even Mask now that Brad has Upgraded his Printer. Nice job Brad ;) and thanks for sharing your photos Spiderdude ;) the only thing we need to see is some photos of someone wearing the entire comic suit that would be nice.

You can get a copper wire mesh at Hobby Lobby that is super fine and works for these types of lenses. The brand name starts with P (the name escapes me) and has a bird-type logo. Better to use an airbrush to paint it if you have one, but regular paint works too.

Can a Spider-man suit be altered for someone smaller?

Can a Spider-man suit be altered for someone smaller?
Depends on where it needs to be shortened. You can't alter much around the arms, because of the webs. Whether you're talking 3D webs or urethane, if you sew in to small you're going to mess up the web lines.. You can shorten a suit by sewing in further on the top and bottom of the blue leg pieces; right under the red belt, and right above the red boot pieces. You can't take off too much there though or it will mess with the overall proportional look of the suit. You can't take off any on pieces that are sewn up red on red because of web lines. Blue on blue can be done in certain places.. For example if the back is too baggy you could sew in further on the back blue pieces, but you have to be careful in how the sewing done or else you'll mess up the weblines of the back as well.
I think Brad can adjust his print sizes all together though. That wouldn't work with urethane webbing of course, because they wouldn't fit.
Schuurke's suits are made pretty small to begin with. When I Model the suits I've made, I'm only 5'6. But when I'm making his suits, I have it on a 6'2 mannequin to apply the webs. I've never had a problem with the webs breaking, or colors fading. The thing with Schuurke's suits is, the bigger you are and the more you stretch the suit, the better it looks.. That's why I assume he prints red on red fabric and blue on blue.

I very new here. But I have been skiming through and reading alot of post that intrest me. great suit here buy everyone. No but I was wanting to reply to the mask . I think if you don't have the right size head you are not pulling off the spiderman look the best way it can be done. I have seen GundamZeppelin's spidey suit. And he has an awesome suit and he has a face shell and it makes it more bug like. Ill see if I can find one of his photos around .

Why'd you give me the eyerolley sign? I MEANT it when I said that your suit was damn sharp looking. I thought that the eyeroll sign was suposed to be a kind of an "F-you" sort of thing.

and yeah I think I've got some "Tobey scent" spray laying around here somewhere..
I haven't started the second faceshell yet... the first one cracked . I've been busy with school and art stuff.. but summers coming along so I'll jump on that. WOW! Those are some great webs. As far as mine go. I've run into some problems with cure inhibition. Mine have mostly come out gooey. Those who have made webs before know what I mean. I don't think the chemicals I'm working with are really taking to the molds well. What did you do to get those webs silver?
On a side note, here's a shot of my black costume with one of my students as Iron Man

it is indeed a S4F black suit, but was modified by yours truly. The print I bought was one of Brad's "seconds". Knowing that it had lost some of the color in the printing process I decided to paint over the brick pattern. Boy did that take forever. In fact, it isn't quite done. I just figured it was close enough for the day. Now I'll get back to it and post some pics when it is done.

Has far as my webs, I use a special paint that Schuurkes gets special made by a factory.

Brad, is that a new comic Spidey pattern?
SpideyC - Modify? Unless you are referring to the color I haven't done anything else. The frames and mesh are from S4F. The color is the same as I used on the spiders for that costume. I used a product from Smooth-On called Cast Magic (the color is called Silver Bullet). All I did was brush it on with a Q-tip and then seal it. I am interested in hearing more about said special paint...is it possible to purchase some?

Hi.
My name is Andre. I'm from Brazil. I'm sorry but my english writing is very bad.
I'm trying to find a man called Tim. He had a Website (www.spidertim.com) but it is closed a long time ago and I lost contact with him. In that website he sold of excellent quality Spiderman's Costumes with details very similar to Tobey McGuire's Costume in the movie. I need urgently to find him. Does anybody know or anybody would know as I can find him? My personal e-mail is andrelnp_comercial@ig.com.br.
I thank all.

Hi there...i kinda need your help guys! I really need a costume of spiderman and another green goblin costume for a TV commercial. It's really hard for me to find the good one. It has to be something cool and not just some ordinary costume for halloween or party. HELP ME PLS! thank you so much for your help!
I wish I could help you.. all I can tell you is that you should read all the posts (ghehe yea I know...) to find out how to make your own or something... I'm guessing that the ones who can actually be of an assistant to you will demand something in return even if it's just for a tip or something.
Just read the posts and you'll see what I mean;)

You say that you need these TWO costumes for a TV commercial, but that's all that you tell us. What product is it for? Which network? What is YOUR involvement in the commercial? How close do you want it to be to the movie version and how much are you willing to spend to get it that way? You sort of give the impression that you want someone here to just GIVE you these two costumes and be grateful to you because they will be "used in a commercial", which is probably why you haven't gotten much of a response from anyone. People often come here and post on this thread with only one or two posts to their name with a story about how the costume is for a film or a movie or a commercial, and would SOMEONE please just GIVE me a costume. These costumes take a lot of time and money to produce. If you're REALLY serious, you're going to have to give people here a little more info about the project and your budget (after all, you do have a commercial budget don't you?). No one is going to respond to you if they think you're just telling a story while looking for a freebee.
i do have information about the detail of TV commercial but I do not want to write all of those stuff here, if u understand. I prefer talking via email if the person is serious about this. are u trying to say that u can make it ? if not then let somebody else reply to me. Thanks

Oh my, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that I was preventing others from replying to you. I'm so embarrassed.
Look, I was trying to help you understand why you're not getting any replies to your "request". My advice would be to look on eBay. They have some decent quality costumes there.
In all honesty (since you seem to have adopted a wee bit of an attitude), my patented "Bull-Crap Detector"(c) goes off whenever I read your posts.
1) You won't divulge any info about yourself or your "commercial".
2) You claim that you can only "talk" via e-mail.
3) You express impatience because we're not moving fast enough for you.
4) Despite the fact that ALL the info you want is here in this board, and despite the fact that you're in a hurry, you won't actually LOOK for the info like everyone else has had to. You just want us to serve everything up to you on a silver platter (I assume because as an important commercial producer, you don't have the time to trifle with things like research).
5) You seem a little demanding for someone that is asking for help.
6) Despite supposedly working in the field of media and communication, you don't seem to know how to capitalize words, utilize proper punctuation, spell correctly, or master sentence syntax and grammar.
Maybe I'm just over-tired (in fact, I KNOW that I am), but your just posting on this board for the FIRST TIME EVER and THEN demanding that all of the secrets be revealed to you, and then getting pissy because no one is meeting your time-table (after all, you're in a hurry), annoys me a touch. Perhaps others might feel differently. (But I doubt it.)
Instead of copping an attitude with me, why don't you simply take the time to post about yourself and get to know a few people here. Prove that you're legitimate, and also do your own research. Perhaps then you'll find people here a little more willing to help you once they know that they can trust you.

What sort of Green Gob suits have you guys seen out there? Has anyone made a Willem Dafoe suit replica?
Yes, I saw one a while back.
It was just a green lycra suit with plates on it and the mask
Dunno how the real one was made though...

I too saw a set of Goblins plates on eBay a long time ago. Who was the guy making the (kickass) Replica Pumkin Bombs? I sure he'd have plenty of links.
The under-suit appeared to be a 1-piece motorbike leather suit sprayed green. Possibly custom made tho because the Goblin suit had an entirely 'crinkled' look that is only used in the knees on most suits. I can take a pic of mine if you don't know what i'm on about.

Hi Guys,
I would like to finally the show the forum something new.
I've been (with some help from some people) taking my time to perfect my spidey costume to the best of my ability and while I'm still not there. I hope ill will crack it 100% next time round.
I believe I've reworked every aspect and using the same exact source's as they did in the movie for some of the key parts of the costume.
I have been eager to post a sneak peak of it in the wake of when it should be completed. My hope is by this weekend but this costume experience has been plagued from the very start lol, for example this progress shot was taken at least two months ago. but I have been so very busy. I'll post more this weekend, figures crossed!

WOW, you think the blue is perfect.. I'm gobsmacked. Please bare in mind that this was taken under florescent strip lighting, but I really thought the blue needed working on.
I've gone through 1 year of sourcing the fabrics and color matching, and I've got it close (to my liking) that I've got one more color matching test to come until I'll stop with it for good... From my experience. In the wrong light(or right however you look at it) the Red can look orange. It does look like a pure red from my naked eye though. As to any more info I am designing a wee website showcasing the work. I took plenty of progress pics but I have to get them ready for the web. Everything was created in CAD and for the stuff to come - was recreated in 3D programs.
Appreciate the input Gundam.

Spidermilk, if you've read lots of the posts here and can see where Spidey4Fun is headed, you've also read where several people have been burned and/or scammed here on these very boards. For example, I am currently waiting (a few weeks now) for phone calls and emails to be returned by individuals I have paid and/or were part of a cash/labor/trade deal which is currently stalled in mid-deal. I'm hopeful that there will be a "happy ending" in my deal, but time will tell.
Please forgive us if we are more than a little skeptical of a new person coming on and "sounding" like others who have been controversial (to say the least) here in the past. (When I say "sounding", I realize that it's easy to read into things which are typed which may not be what the writer intended)
For example, it just seems a little strange that you would not have posted your work or any questions prior to this week... your work (and posts) seem to have indicated that you have been hard at the spidey suit making for awhile now. Or maybe you did post under a different name in the past?
Looking forward to seeing more of your work and messages!

No need to get rude. The problem you face, is you have no credibility right now.
Anyone can come in and show us a nice couple pictures that they've mustered up, or gotten from recasting and stealing others work. When you come in and have nice looking stuff on your first post, without showing any of your previous attempts, mistakes, etc... it's a little fishy.
The fact that you just come in, and post pictures only once you're thus far along... makes it very suspicious as to whether it's even in your hands, let alone you're original work. Specially when some of your casted work looks a little or a lot like someone else's.

Or by adding fury the fire by replying to certain ones, so to let you know this is how I mean to go on.
I have no problem if it's furthering the development of what the thread title suggests... in all honestly I feel like I'm walking through customs right now.. lol
As of now I'm just posting pictures in a free for all forum/thread.
One last thing, To say that my work looks like someone else is a a compliment of highest level so I "thank you" but lets be honest, aren't we all trying to recreate the original spidey costume, and in doing this wouldn't most of the designs look...similar or the same...at the highest level... just my 2 cents
Now off to do some vacuforming.
If you have concerns maybe email me.

You're not helping your case with what you're saying.
It seems that if you've done your research on the board, such as you so claim.. you would know that if you do what you did without showing any proof... you would run into some heat. So why can't you just show us anything before the final stages of a suit..?
Maybe you are going through the board's customs.. because people on here can, and quite often do get scammed out of a lot of money by people like you.
So you may think you're just posting pictures on the forum, but by doing so you are basically advertising your work, and you will get questioned about it before you are all clear.
Onto what you said here.. "One last thing, To say that my work looks like someone else is a a compliment of highest level"
It is not a compliment. We are all working towards the same goal, but you have no excuse to have spiders and webbing that is exactly proportional to someone else's, when their suit is not the perfect suit.

How did you get your scrunched up webs to lay down perfectly flat on your print ?? The glue and webs once applied act as an exo-skeleton to the suit. So even if you glued them down, they would have scrunched up your suit.

Dude, have you ever had any experience with Foam latex? Have you ever baked, trimmed, colored, got it wrong and remade them to get the consistency, flexibility and durability and color all right, to quote S4F, it's not as simple as Urethane PA +PB. It doesn't act like any other material. That's why "they" chose it over Silicone, liquid latex, and the various shores of Urethane rubbers.
Has anyone ever got as far as foam latex webs, I read a few people dismissing them because they were too hard to do.
OK, now this kinda stuff I didn't want to reveal yet as I've worked very hard for it but some folks can't respect my wishes (as an artist) and have forced my hand...So for the information.
The Lenses/frames aren't from ernie nor anyone else, they are a FIRST and iIm very proud to say that each Frame was redesigned and machined As to look perfect. FINALLY a set of identical frames. Be patient...More info to come.

Be patient...More info to come.
http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/5348/headtestco4web.jpg (http://img200.imageshack.us/my.php?image=headtestco4web.jpg)
People have dismissed foam latex webs because they break extremely easily compared to urethane. The costume department of the movie makes about 25-30 costumes every movie because of that issue. Urethane webs on our behalf was an improvement to the suit.
Whether or not I've got experience with it, I know that something that scrunched up in a picture would not lay out perfectly flat. And I know that if you glued it down, whatever type of glue you used, would harden and cause the webs form to pull the print together. It doesn't matter what type of rubber you're using, you could glue a rubber band to the costume and it would do the same thing. It's the fact that you're glueing anything to the fabric. The fabric is too stretchable along with other properties, so it will not lay flat; it will take the form of whatever you glue to it.
Anyone who has made a suit with webs would know this. So it strikes me as odd that you do not.

They're two completely different beasts so you claiming not having any "hands on" experience matters a lot in this particular case.
I think your too dismissive of the fact that FL creation is a craft in its self and is not as cheap or easy to accomplish as "Adding part A to Part B" and that's it. There is approximately 5x the amount of work involved as compared to the Urethane method.
spidermilk

I forgot to say FL webs are extremely light in weight, they're about a quarter in weight what urethane/silicone/LL webs are, maybe even less ...so this might explain your theory.
SpidermanC
05-17-2009, 11:49 AM
I would like to know what experience you have with urethane? And don't just blurt something out that you can't back up. IF you don't have proof of what you're talking about don't say it.
It doesn't matter about the weight. Something that you claim is that weight wouldn't bunch up in the first place if it could just lay flat like it was on that print.
Either way you look at it. Those two picture will never match up. So stop lying.

Alright lets just leave it C, you sound like you got a real problem man, I have no interest in this... I'm only asking for some patients, maybe you'll be proved right AND maybe you'll be proved wrong*, either way I'm not playing tennis with you or others. I suggest you email me with your grievances and see if I reply, but lets stop clouding this thread any more than it needs to... you should maybe realize how some of this continual BS has affected the thread..
To your question why I'm not further explaining myself is because I don't see it as being relevant...
I guess what I'm saying is if YOU had used Foam latex before you would understand from that picture that your theory holds no weight, and that maybe because the overall weight of that latex does not surpass that of the area where it is being glued to the suit.
So a FL webbing chest piece is lighter than the Miliskin its stuck onto,
but a Urethane webbing chest piece is far more heavier than the same fabric piece.
But hold on.. have I even mentioned what are the materials I've used, so far I have only mentioned some of my methods..
Does this make sense...Anyway
your putting two and two and coming out with 16. I actually have more experience with urethane molding than with foam latex.

You're right, I do have a problem- it's with people that scam in this hobby who give the rest of us a bad reputation. And I do see where this thread has gone, but it's not because of continual BS.. It's because of the liars, and thieves, who steal money on this thread. They post fake pictures or work that isn't their own, and then uniformed people send them money, and those people wind up with nothing, or the junk that a scammer actually made. Then all people hear are these stories, and other people looking for a costume don't know who they can trust.
You're more interested in splicing and dicing my words, seeking devision over them, rather than the idea expressed. What I'm sure you know, but are just trying to blind the rest of the tread from seeing is this.. You've expressed two ideas, in which I was combating in different parts.. So let me lay it out for you all together right here.
1. No matter how light your webs are, they cannot & would not scrunch up if they could be flattened out as perfectly as you had them. (I know you're thinking "how does he know this he's never made foam latex webs before!!" Well just because I haven't had FL webs before doesn't mean that there isn't foam latex out there that I can handle and see what it's like. )
2. The second part I was dealing with was if they were flat because you glued them down. The glue would have hardened and formed the exoskeleton to scrunch up your fabric. The rubber, or foam latex, has nothing to do with it. Whether or not if either of them hardened, it's the GLUE that hardens, and formed the exoskeleton to the suit.
I would like to leave it at that. I'm sorry if you are genuine and the board and I have given you a hard time. I am just tired of seeing people get scammed. It takes away from the hobby tremendously. No one can advance in making the perfect suit if they can't get the funding for it because a few scammers ruin it. I'd just like to throw my ideas out there, so people can make informed decisions.

Thanks for all the comments,
Here's a few more, I actually spent a whole week infront of a screen to get some of these designs done, when I say a week I mean full 18 hours a day. I had a spare week with nothing to do, it was an experience but my goal was to complete some new spidey material from the data I already had composed.
To share some info, I have been working on a Venom costume and a Black costume, I don't know when I'll get them started but I already have the very first set of Symbiote frames and Spiders.
Also I had just been asked by someone through mail if the mask I showed was mine and of course it so to clear that up.

Here's something to spark some fresh interest maybe.
At one point I was considering Silk screening these prints (and still might one day) but then I learned that the costumes for SM 3 weren't printed this way.
I remember I was literally days away from buying all the equipment and inks after doing months of research and then I learned that it was used for the last move...
Silk screen method is however the best method for boldness of color, up close the costume just shines compares to other methods. It's just too darn fickle to produce. Here's a guide I produced at the time.

First of all and foremost, I would like to appologize to the Board and its members. I will try my best to make it right between the 2 board members who I owe things to and never delivered... I also want to deeply Apologize to Taylor, Who I considered a friend until this happened, pls forgive me, I am trying my best to recover from my recent loss, I had everything I owned pulled right out from under me, I had my bank account sucked dry,
I really never meant to take anything from you, I never saw this coming.
My ex fiancee took me for everything, Vehicles, Money, House everything took my son from me, My job was took from me. Destroyed my projects I was working on. I had everything tore from me..... I know you guys Don't like stories but pls bear with me let me explain, I know its long over due but pls just open your minds and heart and listen.
I was engaged for almost five years, was suppose to be getting married
December 31st my birthday 2008. I Came home work,
Placed my key in the lock to open the door, but it would not fit. Like a
Idiot I tried about 3 more keys thinking I was just stressed out from a
long days work. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, so I called my
fiancee and she told me I would have to wait til she got home, to fix the
problem. I waited for 2 hours out on the steps. I would have just tried to
slide my card in and unlock the door but it had a dead bolt. Finally she
came home she told me to unload the back of the Explorer so while I was
walking to unload the vehicle she came up the stairs and unlocked the door
and went in. I went to open the Explorer door and it was locked, so I went
up the stairs to find out the door was locked again. I knocked on the door
she came to the door and said she was sorry, it was over, that she had
found another guy, and she had changed her whole life. Now by this time I
was tired dirty from working, hungry and sleepy. I went back to my car and
called her phone, during the conversation she said she had a beep. Next
thing I know 3 Police cars pull up, I didn't think much of it police was
always there at the complex over our neighbors and things but this time
they were there for me..... Now where I am from, You just don't do that.
Anyways that night I lost my fiancee, my little boy got took away from me
and my whole life was destroyed, all I had left was my job. I slept in my
car that night and went to work the next morning I noticed my boss was
laughing at something when I told him, It was like he didn't care we had
been friends for 5 years best friends.. So as the day grew darker with hurt
for me, I decided to pull up our clients phone contacts, from the company
phone, to my surprise my Fiancee's number was on there. I quickly closed it
out, and my phone rang it was a mutual friend of mine and my Fiancee she
told me my boss was trying to have an affair with my Fiancee, long story
short, I worked all those years in vain, for nothing, I had the police the next day go to my apartment so I could get my clothes Championship title belts, Trophies, and my Spidey projects, Only thing I got back was my Clothes and only half of them the rest of my pants had the crotch cutt out she literally took scissors to them. My spidey projects had been destroyed, all my hard resin frames had been broken. My Title belts had been took to the train tracks and ran over cut into. The worst thing was having my 3 year old screaming daddy as the cops took me out the door as I was going out the door I asked the cop with tears in my eyes if I could tell my son bye and that I loved him. He said yes I could, But Melinda would not let me, the cop looked at her and Told her it would be in her best interest to let me see my son and tell him bye. That was the last time I would get to talk or see my son for 172 days. Worst thing about it I went to the bank and she had took everything from me all was in the account was $1.05 She had went and drawed out all the money that I had had for projects, everything. The next few days I would end up losing my 2003 Ford Explorer, Dodge Daytona, Chevy Camaro. I had to start from the beginning with nothing, The next day I went to jail for class 6 felony unauthorized use of a vehicle, They were my vehicles, but where her name was also on the titles, thats what killed my case. All my ebay accounts had been destroyed all my feedback was gone, my msn messenger had been messed up she had killed every contact info, I had.
I spent 8 Days in jail in maximum lockup because of where I have pro boxing license, thats where they sent me by the time I got out I had nothing. I had no cars no nothing no family around the area, I slept out on the streets for 3 days, I was determined to stay in the area on account of my Son. before I went to court, I stumbled on a way to prove I was innocent of everything, I went to the DMV and had the carbon copies of the titles pulled up to each of my vehicles, showed when I first bought them, they were in my name only then. After $4,600 in lawyer fees, which I had to take and borrow money from credit union just to pay lawyer fees, I was found innocent. I never deserved this, now I have to back pay child support, even tho I lived there, she said we never lived together. I know this is a boring thing, but this is what I went through, I loved this site, I loved sharing all the info, I had learned about making the greatest costume of all, I loved the hobby, I lost some of my best buds cause of this, and if The board decides not to forgive me I understand and I will still refund your guys money might be in payments, but im not a dirty person. But I guess its all my fault. (I tried to make a who-re into a housewife).
Now I have to Start a Whole new career, I have had 14 years in Martial Arts, I am a
former pro boxer, I thought about writing a book it would be called Who the Hell is Ernie Shell.

That sure is a different story from what I heard..
! I thought you were dead and gone forever !:wow:
Quite some time ago I was talking to one of the guys you sold to but never delivered...
He said that he got on MSN one night, and you were on.. so he tried to see what was going on. Upon trying to talk to you, he was told that "this is Ernie's brother, Ernie is dead. He was shot in a gang shooting."
He sent me the convo... I think I've got it around here somewhere.. I didn't want to say anything cause I wasn't sure about it. But I guess now we know!

I was engaged for almost five years, was suppose to be getting married
December 31st my birthday 2008. I am a
former pro boxer, I thought about writing a book it would be called Who the Hell is Ernie Shell. That really sucks dude...But you guys wernt even married.. how did you allow her to get acess to all your accounts and everything even if you were living together, could you imagine if the both of you would have gotten married without her telling you that she was sleeping around with another guy and then years down the line you end up finding out that would really suck.. but like they say what ever is hidden in darkness will be exposed in the light...I know that Long term relationships or long Engaments dont last long because then you get tired of each other and end up breaking up I dont know Ernie maybe she just got tired of you or something..Im sorry to tell you this but I remember when you displayed a photo of or EX Fiancee about 1 year ago around this time of the month posting this comment:

You know Ernie forget about my $250 that I paid you for my order 1 year ago..just make sure that when you collect other peoples money you make a commitment to give them what they ordered and not walk away leaving them empty handed without a email or note.... because what ever you do unto others it comes back to you 10 times harder..Take care buddy and I hope you gain back for your looses and find a girl that is not going to use you for your stuff and likes you for who you are and not what you have.

I lost my license on account of getting 18 offenses, I was trying my car I had built out, it was like the Knight rider car back in the 80s, I was going 125 in a 55mph... I was just trying the engine just to see if it was tuned right... anyways where I had no license I Bought a Camaro and had to put her name on the title with mine, same as the explorer and the dodge. That's how I lost my cars... Next Mistake I made was we had a joint bank account for Ebay.... That's what happened..... Anyone heard from jester? I owe him a good a$$ kicking.... lol Nah I love how he used my face shell in his awesome project.... Hey Jester Did you give me and suitmaker any credit on that shell? Your stuff looks great man, but if my memory doesnt fail me, only parts of the costume were silk screened. Arms, chest, thighs in sections etc....

Yes I know... It has great vision... and I recommend using this without plastic lens, it never foggs up and it contributes to breathing. This is not a metal mesh of no sort. its very grainy, it bends and contours perfect for the frame..

You Know Brad that is true I noticed that when the Urethane is sliver on a suit in dark the shade makes it look like a nice shadow looking dark grey color.I noticed it also in the Spiderman Movies when especially in the 2nd when Spiderman is swing at night time you can tell the change in the color..makes it look really nice you just have to get that right silver color to make the shadow of the Urethane stand out at night time.

Guys does anyone know what else you could use besides Urethane for for the webbing on a suit..especially for those that cant afford it because its too expensive..Have you guys tried Arcylic Glue? The thick glue that sticks and holds fast and looks nice..You could get it in varity of colors and it sticks and looks like Urethane at the end. I may have to try that sometime I hear that works Great also but really hard to put making sure that you dont stain your suit with the glue but looks nice at the end if you do the wedlines right.:whatever:

If you use acrylic glue turn upside down before you use to avoid air bubbles , make sure when you squeeze it to apply just the amount time it, that also will avoid air bubbles....

Well I can finally say that Knight Seeker 2 Crimes of Passion will be ready for private release by the end of JUNE.
This was a long labor of joy and I can appreciate this book to the highest degree. I would even say it is better than the first book of Knight Seeker, and more emotional. Also as something to add to this novel there are 12 artists that worked with me to produce chapter artwork, so in essence this is a Caption Novel. This is a new form of media that I will be doing from here on out for all the novels that I work with. I will also be heading up a panel at Wizard World Philly in mid June talking about Caption Novels. Still waiting on my room and Time that they want me and 5 of my artists to do the panel. Its cool that now the industry is starting to see Knight Seeker finally making a move. I was not ready to do a media splash till the second book was ready to go on the market. This is a per-media for things to follow from Seeker Entertainment.
If any of you would like to order from 50 of the First Run of books please contact me ( mksubzero1701@hotmail.com ). I am only numbering the First Run. And I will supply you with the paypal or mailing address. The second book is 20 dollars and this includes shipping. If you need that first book it will be 17 dollars which includes shipping. Everything will be signed and dated. **Please note you can still get the first book from a book store or on line, anyone going to the book store, it will be a special order.**
Also If you need both books I will knock off Five bucks for a limited time. Which brings your total with shipping of both books to 32 dollars.
The second book will not be on the Market til Mid Summer, so the second book for the time being will only be privately sold through me.
For more information on what me and my artists have put together please go here. www.KnightSeeker.com
Thank you for your time and attention. This is something that will impact the industry for years to come, and yes this superhero is worthy of a good shot in the stagnating industry.

Chased by United States Marshals and a high-tech enforcement group, they run throughout the city to avoid being captured dead or alive. As gang violence and the mutant threat tear the city apart, the New York Police Department tries to keep the peace while Knight Seeker desperately attempts to clear his name.

Well... this thread has beeen fairly empty again... I'm recovering from a nasty cold so my costume has had to take the back bench but I'm nearly ready on it, just he last bits and bobs.
Just to let some of you know some peoples messages system is not working. It's not letting me send messages back and I don't know why? :S
I've just got my desktop back so the first one is a special request from Captain pancake, a classic spidey without the muscle def(don't ask me why). I think I like the colors but that's about it... it just doesn't look normal to me but I guess that's because I've been looking at the same image months over now.
The second is the "silver" symbiote but I never saved a thumbnail until this weekend. I have a purple one planned.

that looks a-freaking-MAZING! i've been wanting to see a classic suit without the muscles ever since i got into making suits 'n such. ya know, a true comic suit. i'm a fan of the natural look rather than printed muscles. i've been lifting weights for about 2 years now. i started lifting for a spidertim suit that never showed up, but kept with it anyway just in case i ever saved up enough money to make my own. i always felt that the muscles suits looked nice, but i just couldn't bring myself to wear one if i could do it myself. all i can say is thanks a million for taking the time to whip that up.

Hi folks. Been missing for a while, due to family stuff (kids sure take up your free time!). But I am back and now seriously looking at making my own pattern / suits as much for my three boys as for myself.
I'm sure this has been asked before. In fact I may have even asked myself a while ago. Does anyone have a copy of sony pattern files that were circulating a few years back? I have the thermal scan versions which you can get on eBay, and have put a lot of time into creating 3D web layers with illustrator on top of them, but the thermal scan is missing so much of the brick pattern, that it makes it next to impossible to alter the colours successfully.
I did find a guy back towards the end of 2007 that had the sony files, and was basing his designs off that. He had agreed to share them with me, but attempted transfers failed, and I have been unable to contact him since.
As I understand it, several people used these Sony files as starting points for their own work, and I am hoping to do the same.
Does anyone know someone that might have copies of these files?

I know how you feel I have been trying to get the sony pattern for a while. If other people were able to start with it then I wish we could get the same opportunity. My fingers are crossed that someone can point us in the right direction.

good luck finding the sony print file... I wouldn't mind one myself I could also use a CAD file of the 3D web pattern for spidey now that I have access to a CNC machine, the guy I am in talks with as told me he can re-size the web file to fit children for the parents that want to make mini spidey suits. But no one is willing to make a trade for the file or sell one.... This has turned more into a show off/Sellers thread then information sharing...

A shame indeed if that is the case. I know there are people out making suits purely to make money from it, but there are definitely some others here that are just genuine spidey fanatics and are just into making suits for other enthusiasts (and only take money to cover the hours of toil and materials they put into making suits)
Hopefully there are still a few of the latter still reading and posting here. Just hoping for the same starting point as some of the folks with a few years experience on me!

Hi Hype guys and gals, long time lurker, just want to say outstanding work to all you guys, I am a big Spidey fan and own several suits including one made by OVDH, an alien symbiote and a Spidey4fun red and blue. I recently ordered a Scarlet Spider body suit from Brad along with a buckle and some over sized spiders for the shirt, I will be making the web shooters, shirt, and ankle pouches myself, it will be my first venture into prop building and I am very excited to share some pics with the board ( if I'm allowed to post pics by then, I think i am prohibited from that now as a new member ). Thanks and may you're Spidey senses always tingle.

I'm pretty sure that's an OVDH (Ollie) suit and you won't be getting one of those anytime soon. Ollie just fell off the face of the earth and took some people's money about 8 months ago. (Sorry if the time frame is not exact)
I hate to sound like a broken record but it seems like no one on the board want's to help get people like myself and Irish-Spidey going with making a costume. I know its asking a lot but somebody point us in the right direction.

I spent two days last week hand drawing a mask pattern on red lycra and sewing it. That's how desperate I have become to make my own suit.

Yeah you wont be able to purchase one of these since Ollie left the boards awhile back..Nobody knows where he is or where he went. Ollie doesn't make these fasinating suits anymore. Because I requested one also a while back and was told that the guy that made these suits which was Ollie had left this board..I would recommend you go with Spidey4Fun.com. Brad has the best quality suits out there and afforable.

Hey forum,
I have been planning to answer some of the recent question for sometime now but wanted to wait until I finished the costume before I posted anything well...
There's a lil 4 second clip and that's all I got,
I was rushed to put in on because of loosing light and then lost all the pics form the digital camera so I have to put it on again. It took about 2 hours to put it on and I learned a whole lot from it, I had to adapt some things on the mask aswell and learned some important things from that. Stay tuned.

Hey Brad if someone who had an Ollie Suit gave you a sample of the Lycra Material, would you be able to tell the methods he used to create one like that? I herd that since the colors on a suit are so rich some how he gets either the ink from a different country like Italy or Germany from what I herd.

It was printed using direct digital printing. I've yet to find anyone in Australia that has mastered this printing technique so for know I'm sticking with Dye-Sub. My current printer is doing quality dye-sub work also so Im happy with the results.

As someone else said, this has become more display than information sharing. Sure there are some tips given here and there, but no one's going to summarize all 800 pages.

a text file would work much better. we couldn't really keep a thread of that going, and even if we did it'd only be updated every few weeks. a detailed instructional list with pictures would be ideal, but that'd be a hell of a lot of work (maybe even more work than putting together the suit). this idea has the potential to be a movie, but not a tv series if you know what i mean

I hope you'll take this the right way... seems like that's the way it should be done. Peter Parker didn't use vacuum forming, CNC milling or dye-sub. He constructed the entire costume in secrecy in his room. There's got to be SOME pride in creating something from scratch. Not to say that there isn't room for the "perfect" Spider-Man movie suit replica. 20,000 posts & 8 years later says there's PLENTY of room. You're just on the path less travelled. I designed made my 7-piece Spidey suit completely from scratch with no outside help. It was a challenge & certainly took a while (I'm still fine tuning the design), but the payoff was huge! Granted, I only wear it 2-3 times a year (comic-cons & Halloween), but it's a one of a kind, comic authentic suit. I guess what I'm saying is it CAN be done if you're up to it. If you are, you'll have something to be proud of at the end. :yay:

That is one of the most simple and beautiful costumes in the whole thread. If I were at the helm I might make the eyes look a bit bigger/more movie-esque and i might add the muscle-printing technique...
But jesus, this looks just fantastic.

Feel to elaborate a bit further on how you made it?
The EXTREMELY short version... I bought some white 4-way stretch lycra and sewed rough versions of the parts (pants, shirt, etc.) Hemmed them in nice & tight where necessary. Took a water erase pen (JoAnn Fabrics), stood in front of a mirror, and sketched the breaks betweeen the red & blue on the fabric. Took them off, carefully cut along the lines and transferred those pieces to cardboard templates. Tweaked them a bit to make them symmetrical, added bleeds and cut the parts out of red & blue lycra. Sewed it all up, sketched webbing on with the same water erase pen, and applied it (while stretched) with mask making latex tinted black out of a fine tip squeeze bottle. Spiders & eyeframes are Foamies sprayed with a couple coats of black PlastDip & lenses are cut from a KMart brand grease splatter guard screen. Shoes are Kung Fu slippers. Of course, the long version is MUCH longer, & includes a lot of trial & error, but that's the basic process. :cwink:
