I and the original song they did where Mercedes was arguing with everyone was also good,

Not original, it's from Dream Girls.

Sawyer

Yeah, we would've known if they were doing an original song. Because they would've spent the whole episode leading up to the song beating us over the head with the fact that they were doing an original song.

Original songs have become cliche. They need to take it one step further. They should do a cover of a cover of their original song.

Rumored song list for ep4 for anyone who hasnt seen it in the last thread:

Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) by Katy Perry. Sung by Blaine with New Directions.
It Ain't Easy Being Green from Sesame Street. Sung by Rory.
Waiting For A Girl Like You by Foreigner. Sung by Puck.
Candyman by Christina Aguilera. Sung by Santana and Mercedes.
Take Care Of Yourself by Level 42. Sung by Rory.

Rory better not get 2 solos.

I dont know what they are thinking. He has just as many if not more singles then Tina does in 3 seasons.
Tina solo's (by the true definition of the word):

True Colors
I Follow Rivers
Sing!
Dog Days are Over
Proud Mary
My Life Would Suck Without You
Express Yourself
Bad Romance
To Sir, With Love
One of Us
The Time Warp
Marry You
Born This Way
Pure Imagination

Any time Tina sings in a song? Even for two seconds or two lines. It's a solo. Just because she's the character with the least amount of songs where she sings just by herself, doesn't mean her voice is entirely neglected as you can see. I love Tina to death and I do think she should have more songs by just her lonesome, but Rory getting 2 solos in his first episode is nothing to cry about in terms of Tina when you look at her list of songs so far.

Primal Slayer
10-06-2011, 12:22 PM
To you that may be fine. But I want some SOLO solos. Not part of a duet or anything like that.

But it sucks that they arent doing a Halloween episode this year. Been listening to Hocus Pocus and totally want the Unholy Trinity to do Put A Spell On You

Prison Mike
10-06-2011, 12:34 PM
I can't even remember the last time Tina sang an entire song by herself. Even Mike got a true solo. Maybe Tina had a true solo in the first half of seson 1 but I can't remember anything after that.

I somewhat understand when boy bands give individuals all the songs(even though they are all talented by their target audiences standards) But why does it happen on this show?

Schlosser85
10-06-2011, 05:54 PM
I think Tina's last true showcase as a singer was when she and Mercedes dueted on Dog Days Are Over in Episode 2x09, "Special Education". I'd forgotten what Tina even sounded like and was surprised by how good of a singer she was. DDAO was far better than Sam and Quinn's "Time of my Life", which pretty much defined bland.

JustABill
10-06-2011, 08:08 PM
That songs a bland song anyways. No matter who had sang it would've turned out bland and ''typical." It'd have been worse if it had been Finn/Rachel.

Morrison, Monteith, Lea, Jane Lynch, and Colfer talk Season 3 and how being on Glee has affected their lives.

http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/337239/glee-cast-talks-new-season-how-show-changed-them

I knew Colfer was bullied in HS, but I didn't know his parents pulled him out and homeschooled him because of it.

Schlosser85

Either photoshopped, or the way they're all standing. Colfer had a big height spurt from Season 1 to Season 2, but he's nowhere near as tall as Cory Monteith or Jane Lynch.

I know a lot of people complain about Darren singing too much, but honestly, I can't bring myself to care, because his numbers are always so fun.

Sawyer
10-10-2011, 02:31 PM
Really the only Darren number I didn't care for was when he and Chris butchered "Animal" and, as much as I like Chris, I put more of the blame on his shoulders for that.

JustABill
10-10-2011, 02:34 PM
Ehhhhhhhh. Neither of them had business singing that song, but that was like Raise Your Glass all Darren's fault. Chris had more energy in that cover than he did. No energy what so ****ing ever in either of those songs from Darren. So much vanilla in his voice in those two. Raise your Glass is still one of the biggest travesty's cover wise this show has ever did.

Sawyer
10-10-2011, 02:39 PM
Animal was a much bigger problem for me than Raise Your Glass was.

JustABill
10-10-2011, 02:56 PM
Nahhhh. Raise Your Glass. No. It was a cover of a P!nk song and there's so much life in P!nk's song and there was absolutely no life in the Warblers cover.

Where as with Animal you at least had Chris no matter how auto tuned he was giving his best.

JustABill
10-10-2011, 03:03 PM
And that's without even getting into the fact it's a song about being an outsider and proud of it and you had a bunch of rich pretty boys who go to a private school, two of which had run away to said school because they were outsiders singing it. It was just an awkward ****ing mess of a cover.

Schlosser85
10-10-2011, 07:34 PM

"Raise Your Glass" was the best number from that episode, imo, while "Animal" was unbearable s***. But I agree with Mike - my favorite Blaine number so far was "Don't You Want Me." You have been touched by the power of Glee.

For such an absurdly ridiculous show, it's downright embarrassing how many moments have made me tear up.

You have to have him show you the episode where Chris Colfer sings "I Want to Hold Your Hand" about his father. If you do not cry, you have no soul.

Manic
10-11-2011, 08:42 PM
Not only do I have no soul, but I was bothered by that entire scene because that song didn't have anything to do with the situation beyond the title.

She just has no foresight. She can't see the incredibly likely consequences of her actions. Running for President against Kurt? I get that she wanted something to get herself noticed, but that was just a dumb thing to do. I'd actually tend to think that she's more stupid than she is mean.

Mercedes is just too prideful.

That's why honestly I hope Brittany wins. Rachel and Kurt are only doing for NIYADA. Sure, Kurt says he's doing it because he wants to change the place, but he didn't even think of that until after the fact. Brittany's the only one doing it because she wants to spread a message.

Comedy From Ryan Murphy & Allison Adler Lands At NBC With Big Commitment
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

In what has been hailed as the biggest comedy sale this season, NBC has nabbed a single-camera project from Glee creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy and the show’s co-executive producer Allison Adler. The project, a heartwarming comedy about a blended family of a gay couple and the woman who becomes a surrogate to help them start a family, will be co-written by Murphy and Adler and directed by Murphy. 20th Century Fox TV, where Murphy is based with a rich multi-year deal, is producing. The pitch created waves in the marketplace when it was taken out on Friday. It sparked a three-way bidding war among NBC, ABC and Fox, ultimately landing at NBC. The keys to that were NBC’s willingness to step up at the end of a very active buying season when networks’ war chests’ are nearly depleted, its great needs and Murphy’s close relationship with NBC’s new entertainment president Jennifer Salke, who was his day-to-day executive at 20th TV.

Murphy and Adler conceived the idea for the comedy drawing on their real-life experiences having a family or looking to have one. Its penalty is said to be bigger than any other commitment for a comedy project this season, which is impressive given the bidding frenzies so many half-hour pitches created this season, commanding premium deals from the networks. I hear NBC is so high on the comedy, it is expected to hire a casting director soon to explore options for the 3 leads. Murphy and Adler are executive producing with Ryan Murphy Prods.’ Dante Di Loreto. The company’s Katherine Shaffer also was involved in the development of the show. This marks CAA-repped Murphy’s first foray into half-hour comedy. He is currently running 2 series, Fox’s Glee and FX’s American Horror Story, both of which he co-created and executive produces. WME-repped Adler was the most senior hire on Glee this past summer when the show assembled a writing staff for the first time. She recently worked on No Ordinary Family and Chuck. Her half-hour comedy experience includes stints on Family Guy, Just Shoot Me! and Emily’s Reasons Why Not.
Can this guy really handle three series at the same time?

Prison Mike

Sawyer

American Horror Story just makes me wish Glee was more like American Horror Story. :o

Yeah yeah, it's a fun little musical dramedy set in high school and deep down, everyone loves eachother. Well, **** that. I want to see Puck go after someone with an axe. I want to see Quinn try to threaten a girl into eating her cigarette and then get attacked by a hideous baby monster. I want to see Emma lose her virginity to a ghostly apparition in a gimp suit, thinking its Will.

Yes because we all need to know how much energy your boyfriend has in bed.

Any lingering fear of sex Kurt has would seem to be abating by Episode 3x05...

Speaking of Glee/American Horror Story crossovers, I'd actually love an episode of this.

Quinn going all Glenn Close on Shelby, Sue setting elaborate death traps around the school for Schue and the glee kids....actually, I'd still love to see the Glee characters in a zombie apocalypse. Mostly just because you know how epic pwnage Beiste would be. And Sue would turn in some crazy Colonel Kurtz style quasi-military dictator who establishes McKinley as her own personal fortress.

I don't think it's ever been established how old he is.

Not that it matters, Ryan Murphy said way back when that Blaine was a year older than Kurt and now Blaine is a junior, so sure Sam can be a junior too.

They need someone else who's popular to stay in ND for Season 4. Artie and Tina aren't enough. Having both Blaine and Sam stick around would help.

I'm still curious to know what's going to become of Colfer, Lea, and Cory.

lol, Artie, Tina, Blaine

Who will do the backstabbing and boyfriend/girlfriend stealing??

In all seriousness, none of the above are developed enough characters to carry the show by themselves, and the only one who even has a major fanbase is Blaine. The masses won't tune in to Glee just for Artie and Tina, and I strongly suspect Blaine wouldn't be as popular if the writers broke up Klaine, had Kurt ride off into the sunset, and then set Blaine up with Random New Boyfriend in Season 4. Not to mention the hatred that poor actor would get. I shiver at the thought.

But Colfer has said time and again that he's not leaving the show, so I'm very curious in what capacity he, Lea, and Cory are gonna be involved in Season 4.

If Glee continues on without Kurt, Rachel, and Finn, it won't last, IMO.

not all "christmas" songs are "christmas songs" though... there's plenty of wintery songs that have no mention of anything christmas. I'm agnostic and I still celebrate christmas (though i don't do it religiously, but i do still decorate and do all the normal christmas routines). Finn tells Santana in the hallway about how she just needs to come out already and stop making everyone as miserable as she's making herself. One of Sue's opponent's in the race hears it and uses it to slander Sue. Saying since Sue has a lesbian as a head cheerleader, she herself either supports lesbians and is unfit or is lesbian herself and unfit. Santana finds out about it when it airs on TV and she's outed to the world. She finds out during a performance and can't finish because she leaves in tears, but not before slapping Finn because she thinks he's responsible.

Only thing that annoys me about this situation is that they ALWAYS use Finn and Rachel as the word of reason with people when it gets serious. The only thing that annoys me is that, out of Finchel, people always crap on Rachel and never crap on Finn. Sure, they make fun of his dance moves and his man-boobs, but he's rarely ever been called out for what a **** he can be. God-willing, Sam holds a grudge. :o

I'd like Finn to apologize to Sam when he comes back.

Glee is finally back next Tuesday (Fox, 8/7c) and to celebrate, TVLine has some scoop straight from the show’s set, where the cast and crew were filming their 300th(!) musical performance Wednesday morning. Read on to find out who’s leaving New Directions, who’s coming back, and what’s in store for the graduating seniors.

THE BIG 300 | So which artist has the honor of being the source for the show’s milestone ditty? Let’s hear it for Adele! Some very lucky reporters were treated to a mash-up of the songstress’ hits “Rumor Has It” and “Someone Like You,” performed by none other than New Directions’ rival McKinley High Glee Club. Mercedes was joined by Sugar, Santana (who can be seen being swayed to the other side in this promo) and most interestingly, Brittany. Hmm, has Brit defected to be with her lady love?

Glee Exclusive: Chord Overstreet to Return in December!

THE NEW KID | Glee Project winner Damian McGinty (below) seems to be having no problem fitting in with the cast of TV’s hottest show — at least judging from the warm laughs his answers elicited. But his character, foreign exchange student Rory Flanagan, will have a harder time adjusting to his new surroundings when he debuts in next Tuesday’s episode. “He’s having a really tough time fitting in and [he's] getting bullied a lot,” says McGinty, adding with a laugh, “He’s Irish, thank God! If he was American, this would have been a very short relationship.”

KIDS FROM ‘THE PROJECT’ | Look for Glee Project runner-up Lindsay Pearce to return as Rachel’s rival Harmony in Episode 8, in which “she will be competing against [New Directions],” teases creator Ryan Murphy. Meanwhile, co-winner Samuel Larsen won’t be gracing the show until “around Episode 10 or 11, probably after the Christmas break in January with the new semester,” says Murphy. (In case you missed it, runner-up Alex Newell is going to have “many scenes” with Vocal Adrenaline coach Jonathan Groff. “[Alex] is going to be the love child of Kurt and Mercedes and will turn to them for much advice,” adds Murphy.)

November Sweeps Scoop for Fox’s Glee, Bones, House, Fringe, New Girl and More!

GRADUATION TIME | “We were talking about doing different things, and we decided to just work on the season,” says Murphy, referring to post-grad plans – including a spinoff – for McKinley’s departing seniors. “Just because they graduate doesn’t mean they’re not on Glee or not a part of the Glee world. [But] we haven’t figured out what that is yet.” He adds that the decision will also depend “on the actors and what their dreams are and what they want to do and what they feel they have left in them.” In the meantime, the show will focus on the core characters and, in case you haven’t noticed so far this season, that means a lot of Broadway numbers. “Because so many kids are graduating this year, I wanted to go back to what the pilot was,” explains Murphy. “If you look at the pilot, it was very Broadway-heavy and classic-heavy. … Creatively, it was a really great decision because it grounded these kids again.”

A TRIBUTE TO… | Although it’s all about character this season, Murphy does admit there’s a tribute episode brewing, one that’s been in the works for two years and will probably air in the spring. Mum’s the word on the artist to be featured, but Murphy did reveal some big names who want to be a part of the show. “I’m having dinner with Barry Manilow, which I’m very excited about,” he says. “Pete Townsend called. He loves the show.”

Ugh. Jesse. Ugh. Alex and Jesse in scenes together. Ugh. Way to put two things together that I could give less than two ****s about seeing.

A theory I brought up to Bill earlier today about Sam's return:

I figure that they were able to lure Chord back with a rather meaty storyline, so, since we've got the theory flying around that Mercedes might be pregnant, I'm thinking that they'll make Sam the father, should it happen.

Amber Riley already said that wasn't true.

Why do those two characters get a Pink song? Espically that one. Ive been wanting Santana to sing it forever. And it is sad that Rory gets more focus than Tina does.

I've been wanting Santana to sing Perfect since "Sexy".

I think it would go better with her voice than either Kurt's or Blaine's.

Still, I am happy that it's at least being performed by LGBT characters.

EVERYONE gets more focus than Tina does.

Hell, Mike started out as "the other Asian"/Tina's boyfriend, and now it's reversed. Even he has a more developed character than her now.

I don't especially think it works that great for either of their voices.

Naya's voice suits it much better.

Ya I wasnt in love with Blaines version of Raise Your Glass.

Plus F'in Perfect would be such a great song for Santana for what she will be going through. Or even All The Things She Said by TaTu would be a good Brittana song out of everything happening.

OH MY GOD. WHERE WERE YOU MY ENTIRE LIFE IN THIS THREAD? I was the bad guy for hating Blaine's Raise Your Glass and you said NOTHING. NOTHING. :(

He's ruined P!Nk once let's not let him do it again. :(

I didn't think it was "spit on his grave" horrible as you seem to, but it definitely wasn't good either. It was pretty mediocre and just kinda "meh". P!nk isn't ruined yet...

Let's not let him?

I don't think it's up to us whether or not Blaine sings P!nk songs.

For the record, I liked Raise Your Glass, BUT I have wanted Santana to sing Perfect ever since the Sexy episode, and I think it would go far better with her voice than Darren's OR Colfer's for that matter.

Last Friday Night performance (http://www.aoltv.com/2011/10/27/glee-last-friday-night-video/)

If nothing else, Blaine's numbers can usually be counted on to be fun.

I like that he seems to be more "part of the group". I liked his little playful bits with Rachel (and Kurt of course).

It reminds me of "Forget You", except Holly = Blaine and Rachel = Santana.

I suspect this ties in with the clip from the episode preview where Mercedes tells Santana that if she joined Shelby's club, they'd have all the solos.
