They are soooooo dating :whatever:.

I was actually gonna post some of these pics of Andrew and Emma out and about. They kinda remind me of Peter and Mary Jane.... in real life.

Think about it, they are actually quite similar to the characters in real life.

Never heard of these two. What about the mother? Is she around? Well, her only appearance was in Peter Parker Spider-Man issue #1, but she's dead.

Eggyman
11-22-2011, 05:56 AM
Maybe they just like having sex with each other. People do it. They hold hands and drink before and sometimes after. I've got exes at work. It happens. You just have to be adult about it when the sex stops. You don't do it anymore. It's actually easier than doing it. You don't take your clothes off and don't do the in-and-out thing. It's dead easy. Don't light a cigarette after not doing it. Simple as that. Then do your job.

Us fanboys love that (for all the obvious reasons, I think it's a great idea), but for some reason part of me thinks the GA would find that kinda gimmicky after a while..I dunno maybe that's just me haha.
Personally I don't care what they call of the rest of the movies. IMO the best title you could give a Spider-man movie is undoubtedly 'The Amazing Spider-man', which we already got. So anything else is just icing on the cake haha.

Pac-Master
11-25-2011, 11:30 AM

Why not? It's no different than The Astonishing Spider-Man or The Spectacular Spider-Man.By using that name it basically seems like it's claiming itself to that specific series. It just rubs me the wrong way.

By using that name it basically seems like it's claiming itself to that specific series. It just rubs me the wrong way.

...But by using the name Astonishing, Amazing, or whatever... it does the exact same thing. This movie isn't any of those, it's more of an amalgamation of them. With the primary influence being the 616 universe.

Why all the Ultimate hate? o.O

I don't want Ultimate Spider-Man. I just don't like that idea to name any of them that. Agreed. I don't mind them taking a few elements from it, but I really don't want it being the core of the source material they are borrowing from. They are much better elements from the 616 universe that should be used, if you ask me. Sam Raimi did it, TSSM did it, so I think this should follow in that formula as well.

By using that name it basically seems like it's claiming itself to that specific series. It just rubs me the wrong way.

But all we got now is 'The Amazing Spider Man'. Maybe they are going to give to next movies numbers? 'T Amazing SM 2' etc :awesome:

...But by using the name Astonishing, Amazing, or whatever... it does the exact same thing. This movie isn't any of those, it's more of an amalgamation of them. With the primary influence being the 616 universe.

Why all the Ultimate hate? o.O
I actually really like the Ultimate Spider-Man series. But by them naming it USM, it's drawn to a universe that's separate from 616. It would make it seem like it's a direct adaptation from the USM comics, which it's not. And of course, there will always be those people who think that because it's named that, the whole Webb series was based off of it.

But my point is that it's clearly NOT. Not even this movie is completely based on the Amazing universe.

It won't even matter to the average filmgoer. The "Spider-Man" part will be what they notice. Not the preface.

Lets just say that they named the Avengers movie The Ultimates. It would imply that it was based off of the Ultimate Avengers comic series, wouldn't it? It's pretty much the same thing here. Plus, The Amazing Spider-Man is right up there with universal things that Spidey is nick named. Ultimate Spider-Man is much more distinct and precise.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that anyone that doesn't like the name Ultimate Spider-Man, doesn't actually know what ultimate means. Let me enlighten you all.

As an adjective, Ultimate means:

Being or happening at the end of a process; final.

So, not only is it the name of a version of Spider-Man, but also extraordinarily appropriate for the end of a trilogy. Just because it's the name, doesn't mean they can only draw from USM. This film is called The Amazing Spider-Man, but it draws from multiple universes. Man, talk about a logic fail...

The thing we have to remember is, these movies are made to make money. The people who generate the majority of the money for these films are not people like us. The general audience aren't aware that there is an "ultimate" line of heroes. And they're certainly not aware that the ultimate universe is a seperate universe from the original one the characters were created in.

Doesn't matter.

The Ultimates sounds way too vague.

Ultimate Spider-Man actually has a reference to the character it's based on.

The Ultimates... does not.

If it was called Ultimate Avengers or something? Hmm, fair enough.

Remember people, we're talking about strictly just a title. Not the connections the title has to a comic it's partly based on.

And another thing... to the general audience... where the majority of the money will be coming in from, Ultimate Spider-Man is just... Ultimate Spider-Man.

They won't have this reaction: "Ohh, this must be based on that comic line that was a modern retelling of the Marvel universe, the one that was launched a few years ago!"

They'll think: "Cool. A Spider-Man movie."

Again, honestly, I doubt the general audience even absorbed the fact that they were talking about a different Spider-man from the original. And Captain America's death was covered as well. It didn't hurt the film though. And really, we're talking about the news. The target audience for these films...doesn't really watch the news. Or read newspapers.

Like I said, USM is much more specific than ASM. Discarding the fact that ASM is a comic series title, like I stated before, The Amazing Spider-Man is a common name for Spider-Man. That's pretty much something he's referred to often. Nobody says "Look! It's The Ultimate Spider-Man!"

I don't see why that makes a difference? I rarely ever hear anyone call him The Amazing Spider-Man. It's just Spider-Man. Sure in comics and tv shows he's usually called The Amazing, but why does he have to be called The Ultimate Spider-Man. The movie wouldn't be called The Ultimate Spider-Man, it would just be Ultimate Spider-Man, no the involved. Ultimate as in the final one. It's fitting. It wouldn't be confusing at all.

The 3D that is presented in TASM, at least judging by the trailer, is not distracting whatsoever. It's actually incredibly, incredibly, natural. The perspectives and depths are not forced or overdone. They blend incredibly. It's not your typical 3D where there's one thing popping out and the background is a complete blur. Every level of depth has its own identity. It's quite beautiful actually, not distracting unless saying to yourself, "Holy ****. Agreed. I hope/expect the 3D to lend itself to pulling you in (engulfing you) to the story, as opposed to the "forced" 3D shots. And I am really looking forward to the POV shots that I hope we get in the film (sparingly mind you). Too much of that will take me completely out of the movie, but used sparingly, I expect it to truly enhance those scenes where used.

Absolutely seeing it in 3D. The 3D trailer absolutely blew me away. Let me clear some things up to those wary of seeing it in 3D.

This is some of the best looking film I've ever seen." is distracting :P
I agree. The trailer looked great in 3D. Definitely seeing it in the format.
And yes, I'll definitely be seeing this in 3D.

On July 3rd.

At midnight.
I've NEVER seen a film at midnight. I don't want to fall asleep, or not be completely focused.

I know this is gonna sound silly but I wish it was already a couple of months past the release of the movie so that I can already buy it on Blu-ray. :woot:
I don't go to the movies often, since the cost of two tickets is about the same as what the dvd costs, and because the only time my parents will treat me to a movie is when there's a movie with their favorite actors in it. I'm really looking forward to seeing this in the theater and seeing people's reactions to the movie. And there are times when watching a movie with other people is more fun than watching it by myself. But I've already got money set aside for both my ticket and the dvd. :woot:

You lucky son of a gun
If I were you I'd have bought Thor and Captain America in 3D..

I didn't buy the 3D versions of Thor and CA because those movies didn't really amaze me in 3D in theaters. The only movies that really amazed me in 3D so far were Avatar and TF3. That's why I bought the normal Blu-Ray version of Thor and CA isn't even released on Blu-Ray here yet...

About ASM, I'm probably gonna see it in 3D first (At midnigt hopefully) and after that in 2D. Then again in the version I prefered. :oldrazz:

If the 3D gets good reviews then I will see it in 3D. Otherwise, 2D is my movie choice. I usually give a big movie two viewings to make sure I like it or don't like it but I will see it in 2D first.

When did they release the next batch of photos when it was SM3? I remember there being a trailer near the end of 2006 which got me really excited, surely that must have been the second trailer?

I hope we at least get some more photos before christmas. Although I have a feeling the next time we get some more photos from the film we get a huge batch in one go.

First trailer for Spider-Man 3 was released right at the end of June 2006. (20-something of June). So let's just call that July.

July to November. 3 months.

First trailer for TASM was released on the 20th July 2011.

July to December (when we'll get the next trailer). 4 months.

I'd say the wait for TASM hasn't been bad at all. Regardless of how it has felt, we've gotten a ****load of news, set pics, set videos and official pictures in between.

To me it sounds like a pretty good song. I was wondering what kind of songs they would use for this movie because Raimi films always had big uplifting rock songs, I thought they should go for the more angsty rock songs this time around to suit the tone of the movie.

To me that sounds right for a modern teen superhero movie full of angst. They had lyrics like 'save the day...', etc, so maybe it will be one of many for the film (in the credits) and will be on the soundtrack.

Ahhhh...you and your optimism. I'm hoping the movie is that good, but honestly, I don't have any reason to think it will be that good. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited. But this movie has nothing behind it to make me excited beside great actors. Well, while I would've liked to see a fourth film, I'm pretty excited for several reasons. One, Gwen will have an important role this time. Two, Spider-Man will have more quips this time. Three, I'm looking forward to seeing a new take on the characters. And finally, it's Spider-Man, so I'm sure it'll be awesome!

I saw SDCC footage of ASM and was impressed/blown by it. It wasn't like (it was okay or good), but in fact it was really excellent: the humor, the story, the suspense and action sequences (even without CGI) = magnificent!

The only thing that bothered me was the whole anti-Spidey agenda, that was organized by... surprise, surprise, Captain Stacy (because, let's be honest, he's like Jim Gordon to Batman + in 616 Universe, Spidey and George were really close and he was like a father figure to Peter). It was unexpected, but I'm okay with that now, since it resembles the Ultimate version of Cap Stacy, which isn't bad - because that's the new reinterpretation of the character by Marc and co.
