Eddie knows if he signs you for the charity he's working for, he will earn more money for himself. Wow, what great charity work you're doing, Eddie. How about you refuse payment and hand that money over to all the dying africans you seem to care so much about.

Eddie doesn't care if you have earphones in, you're rushing or even if your in the middle of a conversation, he will still jump in front of you like someone with ADD-bugged eyed and wanting you to listen to him.

You can simply ignore this type of individual, but they will still follow you and demand you sign up with them.

This is how you don't get me to sign to your charity, sir.

Weird...

Do you really think the guy makes a mint? Yes, a lot of roles like that are comission based... in fact a lot of 'sales' type jobs are ONLY commision based. That means if they aren't making money for their charity, they aren't getting payed...

And that's a risk they are taking...

I'm pretty confident the comission they do earn is not much as well, and I wouldn't for a second begrudge them having earned it. It's hard work, and it's doing something that helps others.

It takes quite a dedication to do that job as well. You have to know what your talking about, and you have to have quite a gift of the gab.

And you have to deal with incredibly cynical people who treat you like a scumbag...

It's not like it's the kind of thing you do if your just after a quick buck :rolleyes:

There's a woman at walmart with a basket who gets in peoples faces. She'll seriously step in front of you if you try to walk around her.

I honestly don't mind giving them some change or a dollar if they're not being obnoxious.

It sucks when you work at a mall kiosk, and there's a person outside of a department store with a bell and a bucket, and they ring the bell all effing day. There were times when I wanted to run over to the person, take the bell, and throw it down the mall corridor.

The people from Concern, Focus Ireland, Barnardos are the charities that pay their employee's.

I started a conversation with one of them a few years back. It was his last day and was heading off to Spain to live there. I asked him about payment and told me, 100e for each person he signs to the charity. He was desperate to get as many people as he could because he needed the money for travel.

The chaps that have the buckets and want some change for mentally disabled folks or animal shelters, don't get paid as far as I know. The most they do is, ask for money, you can ignore or say no, and they say ''thanks'' and you move on. That's how it should be. Not rude and in your face.

Yeah , sometime if I'm carrying spare change I'll toss it in. I don't need to begged , I can read the signs.

Glasgow is infested with these guys. It's really, really bad now. Most of them are really rude as well. There's literally about 5 of them dotted about on ONE part of the street in the city centre so you can't even avoid them.

Pretending to be on your phone usually works though.

These guys are very annoying, despite what you are doing they must interrupt so you can talk to them. Grrrr how many times I'm in a rush and have to explain myself to these people like I owe them anything.

Also add to the list those annoying people asking if you've been in an accident within the past three years, I'm like NO but you will be in one if you dont move out of my way. lol

Here in California we have these guys who will trade you candy for your money, which I wouldn't mind if the candy was good. The worst part is that they wander the parking lots waiting for you to get out of your car or they'll follow you to the car and trap you while you're trying to put your **** in the trunk. I think the charity is an organization that offers shelter to people who recently got out of jail and don't have a place to stay, so the guys who do the panhandling tend to look pretty... rough.
