Seconded. I mainly stayed away from taking him on, but I think I had one good post where I laid it all out telling him what was wrong with how he treated people. Still it was like peeing in the wind with that guy. Even when mods were warning him it went over his head and he always had an excuse for why everyone would get on at him for his behaviour.

What was really annoying was that it was almost a weekly cycle of him derailing The Avengers thread with everyone trying to tell him to pack it in, which was a shame as The Avengers thread has some great posters that are really entertaining to talk to when it's a slow news day there.

eh, I think i know what he is talking about, I can only go by experience. Alexei was fine in the Wolverine debate I had with him, and did we did not see eye to eye on the choice of director, but neither of us was sarcastic or insulting about the other's opinion.
But you know what, yesterday I expressed some views on Marvel studios that were not entirely positive, and a couple of the posters who have come in here and voted for him being a 'dick', responded with sarcastic insults to my points. Y'know, as if, how dare I critisise the Thor movie, I must be a moron.
But, as it turned out, my points were fine, it was their responses that were ill thought out and, possibly, biased, due to their particular fandom. They had no rebuttals that carried any weight once you got past the bs sarcasm and insults.

eh, you know, when I expressed my opinion yesterday/the day before on the Marvel studio movies, and wasn't totally positive about them, I encountered sarcasm and flaming insults from posters, including two of the people who have nominated AB.
Now, I can totally see how AB might end up getting into arguments with these people, because there does seem to be a 'shut up and don't criticise the Marvel studios!:cmad:' attitude amongst posters round here. As for the sarcasm: I tried to turned it off (I usually do while posting on boards, because it's very hard to dose on the internet), but I'm a very sarcastic person. that has nothing to do with you, that was just me.

I thought we had a somewhat (aside from the tiring repetitiveness) good discusion going on, with maybe a couple of misunderstandings on both sides, so I really feel sorry if you experienced it differently.

Aaah, believe me, I know Kurosawa from his time at the Cap Boards (at least I think it was Cap), I know his views and even if I don't share them and he has a very... unique style of discussing, he get's my respect for being a fan of the classics.
AB on the other hand... I never met a person, online or IRL, THAT annoying and constantly putting other people down. I never had the urge to make use of the ignore function until I read his stuff (and he's still the only one I have on that list). Thing is, people like kingmatte, Parker Wayne, etc, are fueled by their time here. They're given loud voices in this board because they've been around so long - even the mods are inclined to think twice about disciplining them.

I got a probationary ban for being "too negative" in the Avengers forum. Seriously. I mean, in the other boards I frequent you'd have to ban 90% of your posters if that were a valid offense. Message boards are designed for debate, not for worship. A bunch of guys posting PATRIOTS RULE!!! is fun for a few posts, but not for entire threads.

kingmatte's agenda is primarily to come in & worship. Anyone gets in his way, they get what I get - enormous written abuse.

What I'll never understand is how posters like him can be so viciously defensive over something that has no real stake in their lives. You won't see me flaming people in the other boards I frequent because every 20 posts or so someone badmouths The Bears.

Well, it didn't matter with that comment really, it was a pretty harmless gag, on the other hand, you have a poster coming in here boasting about winning the title two times in a row and insinuating that I am not a likeable person.
Now, to me, that is not the actions of someone who is exceptional in any way, that to me is just average, expected egocentric behaviour, of the type that my gag was parodying.

No, there are only a couple of people who actively follow my posts to comment right behind them, you being one of them.
Most of the people I have put on my ignore list are just so possessed of bitterness and hate, that it brings down the experience of going on the boards, so I ignore them.
and sure, I have an important job in my real life, but my life is no more important than anyone else's. But, a lot of other people spend a helluva lot of time focusing on me when they are on the boards, believe me, i would rather it were not the case, but there it is.
