View Full Version : A Captain America reboot?

I for one feel that Captain America deserves another go. Maybe not right now or even this decade or the next but I would love to see a proper Captain America film with the heart and passion of the Brubaker run and the full embracement of the 1940's era.
I understand this one had to be safe enough to safeguard the Avengers (and their toy sales) but would anyone else like to see a more serious Captain America movie which better suits the comic book?
Who would you cast? Who would you want to direct it?

Okay, two things that need to stop. Talking about sequels before the first movie comes out, and talking about rebooting a film franchise before it's even a year old.

I think we already got that. Of course, opinions may differ.

Are you crazy Captain America The First Avenger was probally one of the best Marvel movies theyve made in the past four years lol..however i see your point how they kinda had to rush Cap out of the 40s to set up the avengers

I concur.

I'd say Cap is the best Marvel movie, behind Iron Man, slightly ahead of Thor. So no, no reboot.

I for one believe Captin America deserves to be enjoyed for the current set of films. Not what is or isn't to come next.

I think they fleshed out WW2 enough in the original movie. This is one film that got it exactly right the first time.
It's too early to start thinking about this, but i do think they skiped too much of WWII and it wasn't fleshed out enough, Cap wasn't even really fighting Nazis, he was fighting some splinter group, he was fighting outside world war II, but considering how early it is i think that the best chance to have a Captain America truer to the spirit of the golden age would be a tv show, gives more time for the story, is a new way to tell it and if you go with 6-12 episodes per season you can have good enough special effects to bring WWII to life.
