So it's just like the first two. Good to know!
Pretty much, it's the same ***** but with different characters.
It's the single most hilariously insane performance by an actor i've ever seen.
Nic Cage is God.
Damn right he is!
I love these!

Pretty much, it's the same ***** but with different characters.I have a raging hatred for those films so any chance I have to slam them, I take it.
I watched the first on DVD and didn't like it and saw the second one with my sister because we just wanted to go to a movie and instantly regretted it. The movies ideas of scares are cabinets opening and closing. CABINETS OPENING AND ****ING CLOSING!!!! And the movies are actually big hits...

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Wow, really disappointing. I knew it would be a trashy B-movie, and it is. But, it's boring! Neveldine and Taylor were clearly held back by the studio. The real problems lie in the script, although I like the concept of the Rider originally being a spirit/angel from heaven, but corrupted and twisted by the Devil to suit his needs. I think the directing is fine, some great camera work in the action scenes and Cage is great fun to watch. Also really like how the Rider itself is portrayed, like an actual demon, a horror movie character. Whenever the Rider is on screen, it's a blast. Shame that the Rider is one screen for probably about 20 minutes.
Master and Commander: Far Side of the World. One of my favourite movies. Crowe and Bettany are awesome. All the characters are awesome. It has young actors who are not mind numbingly annoying too. This should have won the best picture Oscar ahead of Return of the King. This coming from a total LOTR fanboy.

That's the first one.
Yeah, once Cage died I turned to my girl and said that this movie just went downhill fast.
He was awesome in this movie. He turned up his over the top craziness to 11, hell even 12.
I love those last scenes from the strip club on.
"FUUUUUUUUUU...." :woot:
Cage - "Who sent you man!?"
Cage - "Who sent you man!?"
Killer - "Sam F'ing Peckinpah"
Cage - "YEEEAAAAAGGGH!"
My friends and I quote that last line to eachother all the time. I can quote him all day.
"HI ****ing YA!"
"THESE ****ING HANGERS!"
"HRGGAAGH... SOMEBODY TRIED TO KILL MEEE MAANNN!"
Cage said his favorite line he's ever said on film was, "Viva ****ing France, man!"
This and Vampire's Kiss could be his Cagiest roles. He's definitley past 10. You must watch Vampire's Kiss if you haven't.

Trainspotting - 9/10
I just love Danny Boyle and his style. Only he can make the best film about drug addiction and make it fun, disgusting, disturbing and hilarious all at once. There's some deeply disturbing stuff going on, but if a director can get that kind of reaction, he did his job. Robert Carlyle is the absolute **** in this film. Like all his other films I've seen, it's better than Slumdog Millionaire.

The ending proposes the idea that Monty could leave New York and start a new life in another part of the country. The movie built up so much genuine sympathy for his character (which isn't easy to do since he's a drug dealer associated with violent criminals) that I almost wanted him to. But it's so much more rewarding for him to realize he has to stop running. I found myself wondering what happened after he went to prison, especially with the supporting characters, but I can't decide if I think those things should have been in the movie or not. In any case, it's an excellent movie all-around.

Con Air - 9/10
Cage Rating - 10/10
****ing awesome badass heroic Nic Cage. With long hair. And guitar solos when Cage does something awesome. I need more of these films from him. Such a great action film. Roger Ebert put it best: "Movies smoothly and with visual style and verbal wit." Reminded me a lot of Michael Bay.
Favorite moments:
Cage winking at Jones.
Cage's smiling face when he feels the air as he comes out of the bus.
Cage's "I'm gonna save the ****ing day" line.
Cage, in a moment of awesome adrenaline rage, charges the crew of the plane, gets shot with a bullet in the arm, and doesn't even flinch. Then proceeds to ***** slap at the end of it.
Ghost Rider - 7/10
Cage Rating - 9/10
Still fun and enjoyable as hell despite some bad cheesy moments. Much better than the second one. And Cage totally sells turning into Ghost Rider. And Eva Mendes... goddamn. This is also quirky Cage. Like the martini glass full of jelly beans. I love that ****. The set pieces, the action, the look of the film really provides an enjoyable experience for me. Plus I noticed how Sam Elliot really elevates the material. He says stuff that would have otherwise sounded bad from another actor's mouth, but from his, it sounds legit.

I was somewhat entertained by this movie and thought the actors were quite good in it, but ultimately felt cold toward the characters. The protagonist is too unlikable to care about, and not interesting enough to be a compelling character study.
This is the second one of Noah Baumbach's directorial features I've seen, and the second one that's been a letdown.

This was insane. They played it mostly straight and then comes some real crazy stuff, narcoleptic hitmen and the twist villain has the ability to fly! Heroes Shed No Tears
This was an odd one. The gunplay is pure John Woo. The opening scene had this pegged to be my favourite Woo flick, but the rest of the film quickly became a nonsensical mess, characters, sub plots (Could they be considered sub-plots if the film has no actual plot?) just come and go from the film with zero purpose. Great action though. If Hollywood want to start butchering Woo's back catalogue, I wouldn't be averse to seeing this one remade.

Total Recall
Nothing I can add that I haven't already said about it. It was on TV last night and me and the boys had consumed most of a case of Boags when it started and by the time it ended a bottle of Jack and a Jim Beam Small Batch where done for as well. Quite an experience to watch it plastered and yell VAGINA FACE every time that mutant showed up. Payed for it this morning though. Gah.

Project X borrows from every teenagers throw a party when mom and dad go out of town flick ever made.
Think House Party and Risky Business with a little Some Kind of Wonderful mixed in.
Its short on plot and story basically 3 guys Thomas (Thomas Mann), Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B.(Jonathan Daniel Brown), plan to gain popularity by throwing a party, and of course chaos ensues.
I usually find the "found footage" gimmick annoying but i loved the voyeur feel this time around. There are a few corny moments, but it makes up for it with some hilarious and original moments. If you missed out on that rave at high school or college because you were cramming for finals or something pop into this party for a little over 80 minutes.

The A-Team
Because I might as well make it a Joe Carnahan sweep. I've already declared my undying love for this film. I love visiting a body of work of certain directors. Not just to spot trademark shots and recurring themes, but to see them grow as film makers. peak, slide downhill, come back, go out with a wimper or a bang, get excited for their newest release and really the main thing for me is to indulge myself in the reasons I like them.
With Carnahan there's a raw, heart on his sleeve, emotional manliness to his films, in his films life is small and fragile, cherish it, because it will go very quickly, live it because there'll be no difference when you're gone. It's obviously prevalent in Narc and The Grey, but even in Smokin' Aces, characters don't just die, they try to hang on to life, the film stops in it's tracks so their friends go consul them, the film stops to show hitmen and cops worrying about their friends. A-Team didn't really go to that length, it's easily Carnahan's most impersonal film, which is to be expected as a major studio release, but even then, what kind of PG-13 summer blockbuster has the main character arc be about a man renouncing killing and violence, only to come to the conclusion that killing and violence is good **** and if you don't like it you're a pussy.
His next film? A remake of Death Wish. ****ing perfect.

Oscar well deserved. Just more proof that Cage is a fantastic talented actor. It's just disturbing to see Cage in a downward spiral as each scene progresses. Apparantly there was just one scene he was actually drunk for, but it appears there was more than that. Just a testament to his acting ability. Plus this came out before Con Air. I don't see an ounce of him from Con Air in comparison to this film at all. Two totally different people.

I just watched this. Pretty damn good. Happy they kept a version of the CO2E main theme. I like that, besides the Leagers, they mixed a few returning voice actors from JL and STAS with new people. I caught David Kaufman's voice right away.
I LOOOOOOVED Claudia Black as Cheetah. Somehow those two click together perfectly in my head. Now she's what I'll hear in my head whenever I read Cheetah dialog.
This is probably my idea JL team voice cast.
Interesting that Rosenbaum is playing Barry Allen in this and not a new version of Wally West. Guess it was mandated that it would be Barry. On JL he played Wally with elements of the Barry character.
Its not a close match to Tower of babel but even though it goes off in its own direction I still like it. The story definitely brings the epic. Dammit why did McDuffie have to die? He was a good writer. I'd love it if he ever scripted that Justice League movie I'll never see in my lifetime. If anyone could make that work he could have.
Cyborg comes close to being "The Wesley" but its not so bad.
The film was a lot of fun and makes me wish we had gotten a proper live action JLA movie at some point

A movie about a region that is a law unto itself, as it is owned and run by cops, corrupt cops, they become corrupt because they answer to no-one, and have unlimited power as a result.
It's interesting, because throughout the film they justify everything to themselves and each other, they are surrounded only by corrupt cops, so don't really see themselves as doing anything bad.
There is one local, somewhat slow witted cop, with a hearing problem, who ends up exposing them all.

Armageddon
terrible movie, I'm sure most would agree, as this was made by the one director who gets unreserved hatred thrown at him around here. That is, when he's not being patronised with faint praise.

This movie has put me off Sandler for life. The guy is a hack. Watch RedLetterMedias review and be amazed at how much of a money grabbing hack the guy is. This whole movie was simply an excercize to get him and his friends loads of money at the expense of fans. And the product placement is beyond ridiculous.
Wow. That was kind of an eye opener.

I think it was made 2 years ago but only just got released, it's not a WWE movie. You can tell some of the pick-ups were shot well after filming wrapped as Trish is physically different and her hair actually changes colour a few times mid-scene at the start. :funny:

Oliver Twist (2005) directed by Roman Polanski. Very well done! I enjoyed it far more than I expected to.
