I wanted to wait on the TDKR trailer, but...I just couldn't, lol. When you're so excited for a film this summer and seeing that a new trailer is available...it's only inevitable that you lose yourself and watch it right there and then.

I'll be gone all day Thursday, so the only way I can see the new TAS-M trailer is with the Avengers anyways at the midnight showing.

I'm trying to make sense of the logic of throwing DareDevil's billy club and its effect on the receiving end.

In DareDevil v2 #005, Bullseye tossed the club and it pierced the torso of Karen Paige, and he was near her. That method of killing was adapted to killing Elektra's father in the movie, but at least it was from greater distance

I know some will say "DD restrains himself", but he still tosses his club hard enough, some times he does it from a height and it moves diagonally downward, the acceleration adds up in a murderous way falling down, and the hardest thing it does is barely making a mark on the target it hits, and makes him faint, DD often hits the head with the billy club, but no one ever had a crack in his skull

I hope they don't make it a weapon in Bullseye's hand if they do a reboot, nor should they do it in a game

So it's been a long looong time since I posted here due to how busy I've been this entire semester, but since school is out I plan on posting pretty regularly here. That being said, all that hard work and time I spent these past few months have paid off: I was officially accepted into my major on Friday, and my summer has since begun!
Crazy to think the movie is only like 60 something days away. Even crazier to think that tomorrow night I'll be seeing the Avengers... I have seriously waited 6 years to see this movie, and in a little over 24 hours it will finally be here.

So...the TAS-M trailer wasn't with Avengers when I went to go see it....did that happen with anyone else?

TDKR showed up, Brave showed up, some stupid movie with Andy Garcia showed up....but no TAS-M.

I LOVED the reaction TDKR trailer received though....made me happy that I wasn't the only one that cheered when just a trailer ended, haha.

SymbioticToxin
05-04-2012, 02:05 PM
We didn't get the TAS-M trailer either. We got TDKR, Brave, Battleship, and something else. The reaction to TDKR was alright, a few 'awesomes' and girls going crazy over JGL and making me want to gauge there vocal chords out. The one girl, who was white-trash, behind me literally said 'Is Hannibal in this?' when Bane showed up....I've lost faith in humanity.

Don't think that's a bad thing. I'm sure a lot of people see a movie just to see some actor/actress they like or thinks is hot, so it helps ticket sales. My parents will only go to the theater if either The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] or Kevin James is in it. I wouldn't see a movie in theaters just to see some actor/actress, but I do occasionally watch a movie on tv because it has an actor/actress from a movie I love, a.k.a. the Spider-Man and Twilight movies.

SymbioticToxin
05-04-2012, 05:05 PM
Honestly, I do yell at people when I hear they've gone to see a movie or say their interested in a movie just because they think some actor/actress is hot. You can admire their acting skills, that's fine, I won't begrudge you on that. But if you're seeing a movie that doesn't appeal to you at all just because you want to see someone 'dreamy' or 'hot', I tend to ignore your suggestions for movies. And your opinions on them.

So, in your opinion, who is the most annoying cartoon character ever? For me, it's Dil Pickles from Rugrats. I don't like crying babies and none of the other babies ever cried nearly as much as he did. At least the other babies always had a reason for crying, but a lot of times, Dil cried for no apparent reason, which was just annoying. Also, him constantly throwing things, spitting up/throwing, or in some way, annoying the other characters, just wasn't funny. He had his moments, and I did like him better in All Grown Up, but I could've done without him. But I still liked the post Dil episodes and most episodes just had him in a minor role.

I like the show, but not as much as I did TSSM. I view the show as more of a comedy with action. It may not be spectacular [pun intended], but I like it. And Spidey does have his trademark quips on this show which is good cause that's oen of things I like most about him.

You have to consider Dil was a technically a newborn during his time in the original series while all of the other characters were at least 1.

That's why he cried so much. He couldnt even really communicate with the other babies.
I know, but the writers still didn't have to make him as annoying as he was.

Yeah. I understand. I really felt bad for Tommy when he had to deal with Dil, ESPECIALLY in the first episodes Dil was in.

Dil just seemed like an unnecessary nuisance for the game.

People are butt hurt?

I didn't know people had to be "butt hurt" to boo a movie...

but, anyways, there are a lot of reasons it could be booed...some people don't like the idea of a reboot, or maybe they don't like the suit...I don't know, but people did boo.

I saw the TASM trailer w/ Avengers and everyone loved it. Not so much the TDKR trailer tho. LOL!

I really hope you're not saying that just because I said some people in my theatre booed TAS-M

But, either way...I would have punched everyone in that crowd :woot:

One person made fun of The Bat during the trailer the first night I watched Avengers...then I heard a big "**** You" towards him, lol.

No reaction to the TASM trailer for my audience.

Nothing? Usually a CBM with so much talk, good or bad, gets SOMETHING from an audience.

I always felt before that TDKR was overrated and TASM was the dark horse of the superhero films, but now more and more people are realizing that TASM is a pretty big deal too, currently the majority if I'm right

Two questions.

1.) Why do you think TDKR is overrated when the film hasn't been released yet? Are you referring to just the HYPE for the movie?

2.) TAS-M isn't really a dark horse now if it's becoming a big deal; although I do think it's still a dark horse as I still feel that it isn't a big deal just yet. But, alas, it's a good thing and I've always said that. I doubt it'll make Avengers or TDKR numbers when it hits the BO, but it will become a big deal.

Maybe they like Nolan's tone to the Batman films. IF that's the case...they will probably like what TAS-M and possibly Man of Steel has to offer

Hard to believe the trinity of superheroes will now have all gotten their "darker, grounded" covers as opposed to Superman: The Movie, '89 Batman and Spider-Man.

The major difference between this and The Batman is that the predecessor was cut down in it's prime. And The Batman, while I liked it, had it's issues as well. Their names were Batgirl, Robin, and season 4 and 5.
I don't rag on Ultimate Spider-man because it's not Spectacular Spider-man, I rag on it because I don't care for the source material and, from what I've seen, it's not even following the source material and just trying to be quirky and hilarious, which is something Spider-man isn't ultimately (Get it?) about.

When you break it down, the comic their trying to stick to isn't for kids. At all. Ultimate Spider-man is dark and has a lot of people die or deals with a few things here and there. The kid-friendly, funny feel they're giving it doesn't match it at all. Especially with Ultimate Peter. He wasn't funny or quirky like this animated incarnation is, hes more self-depreciating than normal Spidey.

But after the Two-Face episode the series is getting better and better. Today I'm probably going to watch ep. 21, the 2nd part of the Clayface's story. No, but I think it has a chance of being the highest grossing Marvel film. Maybe even the highest grossing comic book film. It's already made nearly the same amount of money worldwide in a little over two weeks that The Dark Knight made in over 8 months.

EDIT: As of today, it's crossed the $1 Billion mark!!! (http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/170607-the-avengers-passes-1-billion-mark-worldwide-in-19-days) :wow: :woot:

It'd have to beat Titanic first. That itself would be a feat.

I saw TSSM and the Sam Raimi trilogy way before I started reading the Marvel Masterworks books, so you're not the only one that does that kind of thing.
Also, I've enjoying my CatDog Season 1 Part 2 dvd. My only complaint is that I wish Shout! Factory wouldn't use the same stock art over and over again. It'd be nice if they took the time to do use different stock art for each dvd case and menus. They probably could too since it's usually several months before the next dvd comes out and they had the creator of Rocko's Modern Life do the cover for seasons 2 and 3. Don't know about the menus though since I don't have that. Don't know if they could do the same for CatDog, but I'm sure somebody could do some new stock art. Although, I'm pretty sure not a lot of people really care about stock art, but still.

That's good, but cartoons and movies do help get new fans for comics. If not for TSSM or the movies, I probably wouldn't have read the Spider-Man comics or have gotten into Spider-Man at all. So what did get you into The Avengers?

The New Avengers got me into the Avengers in general. Not that big of a fan, but I like them.
For something like Spider-Man, the cartoons and movies definitely got me into reading the comics. Especially the 90's series and the first Spider-man film. After that I read whatever I could get my hands on, which wasn't a lot at first, but luckily the library in town has a graphic novel and comics section :D

Spider-Aziz

I was reading a programming book, suddenly all those ideas popped up to my head, if a new Spider-Man cartoon was to come instead of this time wasting product called "Ultimate Spider-Man", something taking some cues from the 90s cartoon, Spectacular Spider-Man, the new movie, Ultimate and original comics. Greg Weisman for a creative consultant and story editor, and Josh Keaton to voice Spidey

For starters, Spider-Man is the only superhero, no other heroes available, but references can be made to locations like Wakanda, materials like vibranium and adamantium, characters like Stark & Storm, comic readers could get nods to them here and there, but no Iron Man or cosmic stuff

Costume would look somewhat different, gloves are shorter and the web shooters would be thin and made inside the glove, they are flexible to put on and off, and the material is strong enough to handle the constant bending even when it's fully stuffed. To attach the web shooters the gloves can be open like the mask in the Raimi movies

Origin would be decompressed, could take two or three episodes. Peter gets bitten by Oscorp spider injected by the Oz serum in the leg, Peter shrugs it off, and his luck is he's not under surveillance camera when it happens, so not something early for Norman to discover

Building the costume would be like the movies, thinks of designs and draws them, puts plenty of practical considerations before deciding the final look, and ends up with something notably different from the classic costume, but still retaining its main characteristics

The decision comes to take use of his newly found powers for his benefit, he goes to show biz, and a thief does pass by him, but instead of being arrogant or seeking revenge he pushes the thief back (cue from "What If Spider-Man Never became a crime fighter?" story) based on the good nature he was raised on by Ben & May, not controlling his strength he pushes the thief too hard and it makes him hit the security guy and push them both to the wall distant behind, Spidey becomes embarrassed and apologetic, but doesn't leave show biz, instead he tries to be more responsible using his strength if needed, and takes a chance in stopping small crimes on his way to work or heading back home

The thief eventually recovers, and does go to Ben Parker's house and kill him. When Spidey confronts him the burglar confesses about a stolen treasure he heard rumors about in that house, Spidey gets angry and punches the wall near the head of Carradine hard enough to make a hole in it, avoiding killing him in frustration, and giving him away to the cops

Rumors turn to be kinda true, but Carradine took the wrong house, the treasure is found in a neighboring house instead.

Spidey is quite experienced in holding back his strength, but that anger makes him leave show biz after a while on his own, deciding he should make more good use, thinking how many could die when he could do something about it in his spare time, educating himself in the line "With great power, comes great responsibility"Sorry if my version for an origin is unlikable to some degree, or is unlikable in certain points, but I would try to give the show a focus

I don't know if it's just because I've been reading more comments lately but the internet in general seems to be a place where people just want to b**ch about everything... I swear people would rather be miserable just so they could have something to complain about rather than actually trying to better their lives and enjoy it. Especially in the entertainment world, If you don't like something nobody is forcing you to watch, listen, or buy it. Find something else that interests you.
