The one that does machines! And that's a fact, Jack!

Should he be a sort of Q to the other three? Should he be a geek? Should his bo-staff be just wood or should it be strengthened with something?

Ever since I was little...donetello has been my favorite....I love that he is the Tech Geek...the smart one...but I also love how he is too smart for his own good and that's often a problem for him because his brain gets in the way of his "humanity"and I think that the way he should be but I also want to see him really excel at his work and really be almost of a Q for the turtles.
But others in the other thread have discussed the IDW run and how his brains give him some what ego and that he buts heads with Leo and the others....I like that I hope they go in that direction.
Also as far as his staff goes....a wood staff would be the way to go......but if they want to maybe take a different route id like to see them maybe give him a Metal Staff that is more than just a staff....has hidden compartments in it for like a grapple line or detaches into Rattan Sticks or even better into a section Staff...now that would be new and pretty cool

He was my favourite too, when me and my classmates played on the breaks in kindergarten way back when, I was always Donny! Got a kickass staff and that awesome color purple.
... and I got to drive the blimp :awesome:

I would honestly play him similar to some of the guys in Big Bang Theory, but not as exaggerated. Like insufferable to an extent, and kind of awkward, but when it comes to fighting and handling technological stuff, he shines.

I liked how he and Raph went at it in TMNT and he flinched when Raph was acting like he was about to punch him.

Ha, I love the penicillin scene and line! :D
And I'd say keep the wooden staff, it's damn cool as it is.

This is the Donnie I want to see, "Mr. Fix-it". Always building something. Grabbing the wrench and the blow torch and isn't afraid to get greasy...I do think that he should have some metal at the ends of his bo staff... As far as personality goes, Donnie, to me at least, is more of an "old school-cool". He's the laid back Turtle. Down for anything, yet still keeping his wisdom in tact. Donnie is the go-to brother for strategies...Donnie is also the turtle that is the most like Splinter in understanding the greatness that simplicity brings, which is why I believe he chose the bo staff. He fights the closest in the old style than his brothers. Eventhough he doesn't have a free-flow style like Mikey, a savage style like Raph, or combo style like Leo, Donnie can still easily spot flaws and use them to his advantage.

All that's well and good, but... where do I sign the petition to get Corey Feldman back? :D
(Seriously, his voice is about as perfect a match as Josh Pais is as Raph.)

I actually prefer Donnie's voice from 'Secret of the Ozze'.
Also, I prefered Donnie's role in 'Ozze' as flawed as that movie was. It was kinda hard to read who Don was in the original film because his characterization was very broad; almost vague. There were scenes where he was sensitive (conforming Raph he lost his say) and philosophical (asking Mikey on what if they actually lost Splinter) smart (Clausophobic) and handy (Him and Casey with the truck). Most of the time, he ends up being Mikey's comedic partner.

Donatello can actually do a lot more in the present. Technology has changed so much since 1990. Really should make him a master hacker.
His dayjob in TMNT as an IT guy was fairly amusing.

I think they should really take advantage of today's technology and Don being the tech geek/fanboy of the group.

Sure, why not. Hell, most fans are geeks / fanboys. Have him go to a big Comic book convention, he could just walk around without a disguise.
Mixing hacking (remote and direct) and stealth is a good way to show both his ninja abilities and intelligence.

Agreed......Adam Carl did a great job.....I think the scene in the movie that really defines Donny as a Character is when The Professor is explaining The TCRI can and Donnie is having problems accept that they are only a Mistake...that's a Great scene and really captures Donnie well

Yeah, Adam Carl had a great 'smart guy' voice.

I felt sorry for him when he lost in the first round of the Battle Nexus, after it proving good fortune for his brother I loved watching him as a fighter and an ally to Usagi Yojimbo
Don is awesome, definitely an 8 on the rock-o-meter (rights go to BlackVulcan)

I would cast Johnny Galecki, Jason Segel, or Jay Baruchel to voice Donatello, if it were up to me. What do you think?

With fingers as big as his wouldn't he need a specialized keyboard?

If I were to Pick ANY of Todays Currents Actors to Voice Donny
My One and ONLY choice would be:
Matthew Gray Gubler

YES !!!! I agree, Corey and Josh fit Donnie and Ralph perfectly !!!
But Donatello from " Secret of the Ooze " was good too, as well as the voice actor who did Don in 4KIDS Ninja Turtles 2003 toon.

Love this.
I suddenly want to have forgotten everything about ninja turtles and get stoned and watch this clip. Even sober as a nun, seeing that clip out of context is amazingly absurd.
